Camping at Langhorne creek for a lazy weekend of R&R and of course caching. Out today to Strath for a few supplies and then down to Milang. Hmmm, pre-empted the location of this one and after a few minutes actually looked at the GPS. Once we were at actual GZ it was a quick find! TFTC
Today we have moved camp from Karoonda to Strathalbyn. Here we will be able to visit our family and find some of the many caches that are available here. After setting up the caravan we headed SW down towards Milang and over to Clayton Bay, we travelled on roads that we have not been on before.
All the caches that we found were in good condition, some were straight forward some a little more tricky. There were ones that we could park next to and others that we needed to walk to.

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC LíB

I headed down South today to attend the CITO in Longhorn Creek so decided to make a day of it. I stopped for a few caches before and after and then spent the afternoon in Milang.
There was a conveniently placed bench seat not far away that I sat on while waiting for muggles to pass by. Quick find once the coast was clear.
Thanks for the cache 3LG.

Thinking about red belly black snakes from the previous post imagine the quickstep when something slithered into my vision almost underfoot. Luckily it was just a Sleepy coming over to check us out. TFTC

In Port Elliott today, cooler day today, out for a few caches around Milang this afternoon. Bike on the car with the anticipation of getting some on the Nurragi walk. TFTC
We had to escape the city for the weekend and smell the fresh country air.
Dirt tracks, fun caches (no micros!) silo art, huge skies, wide open spaces, real steaks and cold beer- all the ingredients for a good weekend.
Great to explore this part of our state.
Thanks for the caches and fun.

Geowife stalked the area and found this quite quickly, while i continued to ponder. No pen with us so no log in book.
We spent a very, very long time looking for this one and it was not until I read through all the clues that we discovered it. A very good hide!!
found with mogni. Last time i passed this point i wasn't a cacher. quick find. no snakes seen today.
During our journey through Australia (from Darwin to Melbourne through the outback) I found this.

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Yay, on the road again, now we are filling in time before we go to Kangaroo Island on 1 Nov. After leaving our van at Langhorne Creek, we went for a quick drive to Milang for a few caches. We were not cachers last time we came through this area
15:29 Quick find. Sent Mr D to check this out while I sat on the nearby seat looking for hints - but he found it first, cos I was too busy reading the story. Fave point for the story. Thanks LiB

Finally having a day off from work, I joined @Davidwazza and gridge98 on this trail, which was also my first time on a mountain bike! The weather was great to us until the end of the day although there were some grimacing clouds in the sky, it actually turned out to be a perfect day with a lovely temperature and only a few raindrops towards the end of the day. I definitely don't enjoy power trails, but enjoyed the boys doing most of the finds, hopping on and off the bikes, and very much enjoyed the day (although being a power trail).
We started at Marker #1 at the old Sandergrove School, and then rode 10 km towards Milang. At the Finniss-Milang Road, we decided to make a shortcut to the town to have lunch at the bakery before it closed. We then made a small loop of the town collecting those caches, seeing the old train station, and then following the old railway tracks as it returned us back to the Nurragi railway trail. We ended up riding back a little in the Moonlight, a fun day!

Reviewing the weather, @jesswrigley, [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY), and I decided to take our mountain bikes (with [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) bringing his all-purpose all-terrain geocaching bike) to ride this Nurragi Conservation Reserve linear trail. We studied the photos of the trail to ascertain if it would be too muddy to ride with the rain about the place, but it seemed to be ok to ride. I had spoken to the CO previously who mentioned it was an enjoyable power trail to ride, as some websites suggested it was walking only, but in the end, we were really glad that we rode. It seemed to be quite a slow trail if we were just walking, and we even passed a couple of other riders on bikes also halfway. Although there were some grimacing clouds in the sky, it actually turned out to be a perfect day with the right temperature and only a few raindrops towards the end of the day.
We started at Nurragi Marker #1 at the old Sandergrove School, and then rode progressively through approximately 10 km once we neared Milang at the Finniss-Milang Road, we decided to make a shortcut to the town to have lunch at the bakery before it closed. We then made a small loop of the town collecting those caches, seeing the old train station, and then following the old railway tracks as it returned us back to the Nurragi railway trail. [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) and I then accelerated our cache collection as time marched on, and had to ride back along the trail back to the car. It took a little more time than what we had planned, and the last few kilometres were done in the dwindling light and dark, which added another adventurous element to the day.
This cache was found during our lunch break whilst cleaning up the Milang caches. I was amazed to see these signals still being able to work and adjust the rail intersections. Whilst [@gridge98](http://coord.info/PRGKDMY) was looking at a structure nearby, I found the hidden cache here. Such a great location and really enjoyed seeing this restored railway station. Thankfully I watched my step whilst crossing the railway lines with my bike. Cheers [@LíB](http://coord.info/PR8KEM6)!

A bit of laughter at this one after I had to explain to Davidwazza what this was used for, cache is all good.
A last minute plan last night, and very weather dependent, a plan to head down and complete the Nurragi Walk series with Davidwazza and Jesswrigley. Turned out to be a lovely day and a perfect set up to ride the bikes along the trail.
After completing majority of the series we made a detour into milang to have lunch and find the caches in the town before continuing back along the trail for the remains of the series.

This cache was found in the final stages of the Wednesday wanderings after the wanders had completed the Nurragi Conservation Reserve power trail on foot. I spotted the cache coming up the slope and directed a snake in for the retrieval.

Happy Australia Day weekend! We were camping in Milang this long weekend, and I picked up my daily cache when I went to get fish and chips for tea.
Found with Astronaut99 and Beaker on a long weekend camping, kayaking and geocaching adventure up the Coorong and all over the Fleurieu Peninsula. Highlights included seeing hundreds of Pelicans in the Coorong, Jellyfish in the crystal clear waters at Victor Harbour/Port Elliot, visiting a sea cave, and waking up in our swags on Australia Day to see the silhouette of kangaroos! Thanks
Escaped home for the long weekend and decided to spend it caching and kayaking around the fleurieu peninsula area. Was a good eventful weekend accompanied by -Beaker-, FerociousFlea and a roaring sun.

Had to wait for a local conservation group to finish planting, I think they are wise to plant now in winter rather than full mozzie season.

Having just completed 5 kms of the Nurragi Walk it was time to grab some lunch from the bakery & do a few caches around Milang...my geopet, Mandy came along too...
I wandered down to the tracks, with Mandy, expecting a bit of a hunt...well I got that...but it was not before this happened:
While I was searching I noticed a man standing in the doorway of the nearby shed so I meandered up the line & down reading the name plaques on the railway sleepers hoping he'd go away...
He didn't, in fact, he came over to ask if I was looking for my plaque...I said no I was checking out all the places people have donated from...hmmm...interesting...
He started talking to me about the trains & the tracks & where they had come from...he then invited me to look at the very old train engines that he was restoring in the shed where he had been standing...turns out he is one of the train museum volunteers...he said they do not have many volunteers left to open the museum all the time...
After about half hour in the museum we were on our way out & I confessed as to what I was doing at the track, as he wasn't going to leave any time soon...
Next thing I know we are both looking for the cache...we looked in lots of places...then I found it...not where I was expecting but very obvious in the end...
He said goodbye as he had to get back to the museum...I think he got into trouble with his wife as I could hear her asking in a stern voice where had he been as he had other people asking about the trains...OOPS!!!
Had a fantastic & unexpected visit at this cache...
Thanks 3LG

I'm really surprised to have found this one, and wasn't anywhere near where I was expecting it. I was looking for something much smaller as well, which didn't help. Walking back to the car we were trying to work out how the hint fitted the hide, and we're still none the wiser.

Day Nine of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I cruised around the Milang area collecting (or not) caches at random. We started with a short walk on the Nurragi Walk series, then lunch at the Bakery, then a few around town.
They seem to be doing quite a bit of work around this area, laying some smaller gauge track.
But of course we were interested in the big stuff.
Took a bit of stumbling around before we found the tube.
Thanks, Robmc.
