Quick find today with the kids as part of our central NSW school holiday road trip. Thanks for the fun and adventure.
Day 1 of my tour of Central NSW. Hoping to chase some LGAs and other points of interest. A quick find here - the lid is cracked but log still good . Tftc
A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
That was easy. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Hard ride up on an extremely wet day. Cycling Sydney to Eurobin. To Young today via Greenthorpe. Thanks for easy cache as it's our only regular cache on route today.
Day 127 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic which started in June, and day 126 of a streak. With QOGM done and dusted for it's final year we are heading the caravan towards home, well sort off. Goal is to tick off LGA's and missing sectors in 360 degrees from home. Eventually found cache at the base of a tree that remained standing while its neighbour has fallen recently (maybe in this weeks storm). Moved to a safer place.TFTC TB's visited

A weekend in Cowra, and we ended up checking out Grenfell today. On the way home we spotted this cache, so we thought, why not stop and pick it up. DustyEartha and Lacelot were with us for the drive.

Day Three : Cowra to Balranad.
An interesting day weather wise, with rain in Cowra, and very heavy rain around West Wyalong to the point I was worried that the highway may close. Balranald didn’t get any rain at all.
I love a good view cache. Looks like I haven’t reached Weddin yet though. Thanks for getting me to stop here swift13.

Lucky we didn’t need to search to hard as it is not much fun on a cold and soggy day, but we located this one without too much trouble.
Today we left Grenfell on a very cold and windy day and moved to Cowra. We managed one cache on the way and then set up for a couple of days. After thawing out a bit we headed out to look around, our first stop being the Visitors Centre. We really enjoyed the hologram and displays on Cowra. We had both heard of the outbreak before and seen the tv show. The staff there were fabulous and quite interested to hear about a geocaching multi that took you to a number of the sites. We worked on that multi and found a couple of traditionals but in the end the cold beat us. We’ll try again tomorrow and hope it’s a bit warmer.

Another cache needing to be found on the way to Dubbo for my attempt at the “Well Travelled Cacher” challenge. A lovely view can be enjoyed here and I scored yet another pathtag. Too good.
Tftc swift13, came here to collect a smiley in this LGA. Left a trackable and a pathtag.

I am staying in Cowra and today visited Grenfell. I found this cache on my way back to Cowra. Nice hide. Cache and log are good. TFTC swift13.
Our last find for the day as we headed into Cowra. Definitely a stunning view over the hill to the east. Thanks for the hide.
Accurate coordinates and a logical hide led to a quick find. the cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks swift13 for the cache.
Quick find on my way to West Wyalong for a 70th. Just checked out the collection of war quilts in Cowra Art centre, just amazing.
With a possible FTF up for grabs over in Grenfell and a day off from work, I decided on going for the drive over while collecting a few other caches along the way. I started the day with collecting a Trig-Point behind the Grenfell quarry. Next one on the list was the possible FTF and then into the Weddin Mountains to find another TP and avenge a DNF. After my fantastic hike, I headed out and found the lone caches, I hadn’t found yet, between Grenfell and Young. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s for creating the caches I found and for letting me enjoy the hunt to find them! TFTC’s

We were heading back from the QOGM zig bagging our way picking up caches along the way.
We agree with what the cache page says, it doesn't always have to be about the cache hide, it is what it brings you to see that you may not have even found if it wasn't for caches placed in these areas. We did enjoy the views here while we searched for the cache and added our name to the log and took a couple of happy snaps before leaving.
Thanks swift13 for the hide, it's caches like this that have kept us interested in the game all these years.

It's the weekend and the weather is fine, so Touchstone7 and I decided a trip outside Canberra was in order. And of course, we felt the need to grab a cache or three along the way.
A quick stop and grab as we neared our destination of Cowra. Cache is in good condition. Tftc

Grenfell - Cowra This was our first find on the way into town
We have now set up camp at the old showgrounds.
We headed back towards where we had come from to start The Harry Potter series, doing a large loop before heading bck into town. We found some very cleverly hidden caches in some great location.
The town was very hot today,

I sought out some geocaches while on a road trip to the Weddin Mountains and found nine. This was a reasonably straightforward find, being within a few metres of the coordinates. Thank you swift13 for installing and maintaining this cache.
Quick find even though we got muggles by the farmer and his dogs! I think he thought I was throwing up not caching! Lol!
Black Bunny and I hit the road for a weekend caching, with the pack of geodogs.
Thanks, swift13!

TFTC. Our aim for the day was to do a large loop from Cowra to Bumbaldry and follow the Harry Potter Trail back to Bendick Murrell and back to Cowra . Thanks to,the COs for placing and maintaining the caches in the area .
A quick find just as the rain cleared and blue sky appeared. Was that it for the day? - absolutely not!
Great view indeed - we were heading to Cowra and yep wow that's an awesome view.
**# 16697** Found on the start of our 2017 winter escape trip.
A top day for a drive around while at Cowra for a short stopover.
And another nice autumn day with not many muggles around.
The main mission was the Harry Potter series and a few others as well.

Found whilst heading on the way towards home after a few days working in the district. I had stopped briefly heading the other way earlier in the week but was too hard to locate in the dark. Many thanks swift13
#4495 - 16:00; I had been for a drive to Grenfell with the geohoney and her muggle friend and we were now headed for home. Decided to grab another couple of caches on the way and pulled over right beside GZ and said "You'll often find a cache close to features like this". How prophetic that statement turned out to be as the GPSr put us within a couple of metres once I did a search. You've got to love that! TFTC swift13
10869. Found with AngelG27 and specimenX ("SAFi" in most of the logs) on a day run up Cowra way.
With the bad weather down the coast postponing a planned run that way, a quick rethink had us planning this run instead. A early start had the three of us hit the Highway before 7.30 and not too long after we started our caching spree. Awesome run, with quite a few of the "History of..." puzzles solved and (all but one) collected, as well as 5 First To Finds making a great caching day with my new invasion buddies.
This was the next find for the day, and the girls took no time in locating the cache. Cache retrieved, signed, returned, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks swift13 !! Lovely area for a cache.

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 and AngelG27 for an "invasion" of several country towns between Yass and Cowra. We managed to dodge the worst of the drizzly weather to collect a decent swag of caches on what was a fun day with great company! We signed with the acronym SAFi ("i" for invasion ).
