Hi GeoCachers,
Flat Stanley remains temporarily out of action.
A combination of recent high river flooding, and subsequent ongoing heavy machinery earthworks has made GZ unviable.
I'll review the site every few weeks and will keep you posted about when it's suitable to return Flat Stanley to his natural habitat.

** CACHE REMOVED TODAY **
I've removed the cache today, due to the imminent flooding of the Murray River. I will update and put back in place once floodwaters have gone down.

While travelling through the area we picked up a few caches along the way and this was one of them.
Caches and contents were very good. Took some time but got there in the end!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Thanks MalandDi for the note that the cache is at risk of flooding. I'll rescue the cache today and decommission it for the future, until the floodwaters go down.
Staying in the Cobdogla caravan park I made a nice find and sign.
However this was within a yard of the water which will cover it shortly.
I have put it up onto bush but it will need attention soon.

Continuing our trip from Melbourne to Darwin and back, we are now on our way back home and today we are traveling from Cadell to Kingston On Murray where we will stay for a couple of days to investigate Bamera, Loxton, Berri and Renmark (maybe). A bit of a change after spending the last several weeks in the arid conditions of Central Australia. I also took the opportunity to grab several caches along the way.
A nice quick find
**Thanks for placing this cache CrossCobby**

A little bit off GZ however the cache was eventually located in the first place I thought it might be. TFTC
We have been travelling around this great country, calling into see many different places,
now is a quick chance on the computer to catch up with logs and to put some smileys on the map for where we have been.
Thanks to all the COs for some great finds.

The is took me a ridiculous amount of time to sniff out. I went around and around but kept missing where the cache was hidden. It ended up being obvious once I was in the right spot.
Caching has fallen by the wayside with everything that has been going on, work, lockdowns, blah, blah...so we needed to get away for a bit of R&R after lockdown so headed to Loch Luna for the weekend to refresh and cache!. An epic day today with 30 fnds and 3 DNF's. Maybe overthought this...found lots of old and rusty, but got this a little away from GZ.. TFTC
Team Honda off on a journey for a week to escape the Covid madness and chase Yellow Faces to reduce the city stresses.
Thanks to the caching community to ensure we have plenty to search for. If it were not for them, we would not be at this hide today.

Day 385 ( Thursday 17th ) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Barmera today. A total of 10 for the day and 6812 the trip. A grand total of 16,780 caches. TFTC
Went bush bashing on foot over the levey banks to get to this. E got the find and then off we went. Tftc #107
This weekend, I headed to the Murray Riverland around Berri and Renmark primarily to attend the celebration event, but also to join others in some kayaking geocaching adventures. I hadn't visited this region before, and I left really enjoying the picturesque nature of the rivers, the wine-growing areas, and pretty towns. I ended up visiting Kingston on Murray, Barmera, Berri, Lyrup, Renmark, and Paringa. Three other highlights worthy of mentioning was Chambers Creek, Katarapko Island, and the historical SA-NSW surveyed border area.
Today after spending last night in Berri, I met with others to group kayak the *Chambers Creek Canoe Cache* (CCCC) series. We then had time to find a few geocaches around Lake Bonney and climb a few trees outside Berri, before attending the lunch celebration event. Afterward, we detoured via *Katarapko* oldie, before heading south, and group attacking the geocaches group on Katarapko Island. A nice day to be out on the kayak and finding some geocache favourites.
This area was rather interesting. I parked nearby, and in thongs, I walked up the little levee break, and down the other side. This area had some strong clay about, and so the clay began to stick to my thongs. By the time that I returned to the car, my sole thickness had tripled. Once at GZ, it took a few minutes to locate the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good condition, probably due to its recent maintenance. Thanks CrossCobby for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Spent the afternoon caching around Berri and surrounding areas. TFTC

Had heard that the cache may have been muggled & had vanished, so I scouted the surrounding area & found Flat Stanley in the bushes.
Took home for some TLC - general maintenance & replenished swaps.
Back in situ again. Let me know if there's any more chaos, please?

Took a houseboat from Waikerie up to Cobby for a week, relaxing and kayaking on the river.
After a walk through town we dropped into this cache and made the find. Yup flat as a pancake.

Found tftc. On our way back from an unsuccessful fishing trip at Cobby, we thought we would try our luck at a geocaching. Good thing our geocaching is better than our fishing!!!! Dropped off travel bug ‘Hows your Caching Spark?’ TB3ZR7D.
Back for our annual holiday only to find 3 caches I haven't logged from last year! Hubby lifted up this one for me--- snake chicken that I was!
Brahms6 found this one. Came to Cobdogla to paddle the Murray to Cadell that dome our for a morning cache. Thanks for this one.
Found while staying in berri for the weekend. Having a 4x4 meant i drove to gz. Had a lot of gps bounce but found it.
Barmera Carp Fishing comp gave us a reason to cache around the lake today. Beautiful area. TFTC
Checked on Flat Stanley today with a geokid... He's still going strong! Added in extra swaps for lucky cachers!
Staying in Barmera for the long weekend with LLL51, ROMA123 and Gemini7 and we decided to go for a drive and do a bit of caching.
Walked around in circles for a while before eventually finding what we were looking for. [^]
Thanks for the cache CrossCobby.

Headed to Kingston on the Murray for the Easter weekend what a lovely spot. Lots of great geocaches to be found on our quest to reach 4000 caches
Not entirely sure what the point of this one was. Horrible scratchy walk in. Was worried about snakes and then had to lift the peice of metal was even more worried about snakes, the box had 2 big cockroaches in it, yuck. Signed and was grateful to escape. Sorry to sound negative but just not sure why this is here. Thanks anyway.

Alice trip 2017. Day 3. My third day of lone travel and it took me from Renmark to Burra via Barmara. A real mixture of caches today, including a great walk by the banks of the Murray near the border. I do like caches like this. Two on this trip.
Thanks.

Out and about finding some caches close to home that we hadn't grabbed yet for International Geocaching Day. Quick and easy find by Mr 4 when we finally worked out how to get to GZ. TFTC!
Couldn't resist having a look for this special one! Flat Stanley is flat and well. Doug enjoyed the hunt too. TFTC CrossCobby.
Cool morning in Cobby with a few spots of rain. Thankfully geohubbies phone is getting a better lock than mine today. Flat Stanley is doing fine. Flat out like a lizard drinking. TFTC

Found myself in SA for other reasons this month, and McPhan agreed to join me for the trip back. The main purpose was the Yorke P geoart, but we finished these faster than planned, so had a relatively leisurely day around the Riverland heading east. We'd been though here several times over the years, and had largely cleaned the place out. Some great caches today, the product of an active caching community.
Sorry for the relatively generic logs, but after 900 caches in 6 days, I'm largely relying on the GPS record.
Thanks CrossCobby for the cache.
