20-Apr-15
Tricky find and was worried it might not be there on arrival right at GZ .
Thanks for the challenge.

Nice hide. Found my inner messiah. Lol. Almost muggled by teeedledee and tweedledum ...... The local kookaburras were most amused.

Found on the way home to NSW after a great stay in Alexandra! Weather was really ideal for caching and I can't remember any DNF, how good is that! Thanks for placing this cache.

5/04/2015 12:17 Find #2679 Smile. 1st find for the day with Zoe the Geohound, Max and Charlotte.

I'd been saving a few unfound caches around Benalla to find with my niece and nephew and this one in particular was made a lot easier having a 12 and nine year old to send out to collect Razz

The cache was found quickly by Max and returned without anyone getting their feet (or anything else) wet Cool

Cheers team BGF

Found on way to Melbourne
I hoped that the water wasn't to deep if I couldn't walk on the water but it seems that today I could tftc

18-Jan-15
Revised hide, cache now fixed to gz following a number of cache disappearances from the hook. Hook has been removed from gz.

06-Jan-15
With Dusty02 on a pleasant meander around Benalla. found the hook not the prize, apologies for the late log.
A brave Dusty 'half' sidled the plank. Well done. look forward to cache being back in action. cheeky finding a cache is only half there - we did find the evidence!!

05-Jan-15
Gone as reported. New cache has been designed and built and will be installed very soon.

01-Jan-15
We're on a caching trip from the highlands for a couple of days and ended in this lovely town, we got up early to start our day. At GZ we found the hook and rest was gone. Hope this is ok to log as found . We took a picture of proof and will send it to you if you like . TFTC

26-Dec-14
Found the hook, but not the cache. Previously logged as a DNF, but others are treating it as a find so we will too. Great cache

26-Dec-14
Found the hook, but not the cache

01-Nov-14
Out and about in Benalla caching with chewinprickles.doing the BLS Series. We drew staws on who would walk on water and I did not get the short straw.so I only needed to coordinate the search.

Emptied my pockets before doing this one for obvious reasons but as it turned out, didn't need to. A different sort of place to find a cache but good fun. Always enjoy a bit of a challenge.

22-Oct-14
Suscoe was heading north today on a magnificent mid Spring day.
This was our 20th find of the day.
Well this was a delightful way to take in the afternoon sun.
An interesting hide and Suscoe was certainly ready for the challenge.
A favourite from us.
Thanks to Team BGF for placing this cache.
Very happy to see it back in its spot safe and sound.

One of 102 caches found today during a big three day cache run, up to and around Kelly country which included Benalla, Tolmie, Beechworth and Glenrowan. A great three days spent exploring and discovering with a fantastic group of fellow cachers, which we collectively called ourselves 'The Kelly Gang'.

Today being Friday, I spent the day caching on my own as I made my way around the conutryside before meeting up with the rest of the gang at our camping spot for the night at Stringy Bark Creek. I had a nice early start, hitting the road before dawn and the sun rose as I made my way through the Great Dividing Range. A perfect day for caching which included some time biking it around Benalla, before heading for Beechworth to find some 'Challenge' caches and some of the HSS series caches, then back south to Stringy Bark Creek for a fantastic camp fire dinner with some great company.

I initally was just going to stop and find a few caches in Benalla before moving on but in the end I stayed for a few hours and rode around this lovely town, managing to find every cache I hadn't yet found. The BLS is a really enjoyable series and I had a great time riding to each location and searching for each cache. Some tricky hides that had me scratching my head and some very clever and well constructed hides as well. I had no problems getting out to the hide here. Unfortunatley when I got to the cache, the bottom half of the cache was not there, probably at the bottom of the lake; so I did the next best thing, sign beside it. Thanks Team BGF.

10-Oct-14
Bottom half of the cache is no longer attached and missing.

Found by The Empire @ 12pm-ish
My first time around Lake Benalla. What a lovely place! Yeah this sucked. There were 'spitfires' on the tree and I was tempted to just keep on walking! Nasty little things. I sucked up the courage and went for it, a little shaky but got there in the end. Top one. Thanks for the cache, and the series Team BGF.

[:(!] What better way of filling in the day than to do a full day of caching and this was one of them, parked the geoKa as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was located and it was in hand in a matter of minutes.

9.20 While mr x was working I got to check out some of the local caches. Having been disappointed from the last one, again, for being to short. I was determined about this one. Lucky I timed this well between puppy walkers and joggers, they would have had me committed. Loved the cache. Not to hard but a challenge. It gets a favourite from me
Thanks the cache, I enjoyed my walk around the lake

26-Jul-14
Awesome!

16-Jul-14
Great spot Smile I liked this one.
Water was high, but no need to get wet

10-Jul-14
I was prepared to rock-paper-scissors this one but cdmark replied with "You know I would offer, but I'm not." So after spying the cache location, emptying my pockets of anything valuable and weighing up the level of water against my weight on the branch I inched my way out for a pretty simple find. I've never held a bison tube and pen so tightly in my life.

Thanks,

R + C

Found with Team Rubik today on our Benalla Geocaching and Munzee expedition. Rubik was brave enough to retrieve the cache so that it could be signed. I bravely held onto the care keys, wallets, phones and GPS units instead. Clever and challenging hide!

08-Jul-14
Didn't feel like getting wet today!

28-Jun-14
Getting dark and water level seemed too high to safely look.

Was taken here to find this cache by ben.ro on my way home after being in Darwin!! I was assured it was indeed there and despite shaking from Victoria's cold (and my fear), I did locate the cache. Sorry about the date on the log, my mind is not functioning all that well. I wonder why? TFTC

14-Jun-14
At last! All around the lake I have smilies. Thanks to ben.ro who performed the gymnastics to retrieve and replace the cache. No way could I have done that and his mother might not have been okay with that either, so he is our hero today, thanks mate, it's been a great day! Now to tackle that blue one in the middle of the lake

#5954 Well this was GREAT FUN!! We had suspicions, given the cache name, as to what would be expected in order to log this cache Razz. So as we troddled off along the path toward GZ we were guessing as to where GZ might be - our second guess proved correct. Then it was up to SkullDad to head off to make the retrieval. There were visions of getting wet, although it was a nice sunny day, that water was looking mighty chilly. We had spotted the cache from the shore and it was soon in hand and then carefully replaced for the enjoyment of the next finders. This was a favourite for the fun (& perhaps because we managed to keep our feet dry Big Grin). Cheers [^]

#453 TFTC... last one for the weekend. i was expecting to get my feet (or more) wet with this one, but i made it back safe and sound (and dry) Wink

After waiting a few weeks for a chance to get over this way caching I finally managed it today.

I read about this cache a few weeks ago and tried to get an idea of the challenge through various methods. All came back with no result so I just had to go and have a look for myself. It's not as bad as I'd imagined and turned out to be a simple find and retrieve.

Thank you for the cache Team BGF.
#2894th @ 1159hrs.

22-May-14
Thanks for replacing this one. A quick spot by geochook and of course up to geotoon to retrieve. TFTC

07-May-14
This cache is now in a new position that is more visible so the bison container is more likely to be returned to the designated hook due to some past issues. Difficulty rating lessened however coords and terrain rating remain the same - Regards Team BGF

# 6284. A quick trip down the highway with Robmc on a lovely sunny day, to see if we can add smilie faces to the relatively new caches around Benalla.

The lucky last before the final for the Series - It was lucky because we have been permission from the CO to log a find after finding the hook. The rest of the booty has probably made its way to the bottom of the Lake, again.

I see this issue has already been addressed so good luck to future seekers.

Thanks Team BGF

06-May-14
A tour around Benalla with BettyBoo3747, just to see if we could finish off this series now a final has been released.
Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but... we found the hook, but it was empty!
Walking on water was easier as the wooden bit was dry today.
Thanks to the CO for permission to log a find on this cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

Too hard with a tribe geo minors. Not a chance in the world were they going out to get it.

04-Apr-14
We are heading off towards the Oz Mega and have a few weeks to enjoy some camping and caching along the way. Grabbed this cache whilst taking a break and going on a bike ride around this lovely area. It was a toss up as to who was going to brave it. Mr Happy Feet did the deed and had cache in hand with little effort. Thanks Team BGT FTC.

31-Mar-14
Wasn't sure if the limb had a load limit but oh well out i went and after a breif search nothing, grrr.
I was not going to leave without it so I went just a little bit further and ahhh found it. This cache deserves a favourite from us. We also saw a small colony of fruit bats in a nearby tree too. Thanks.

16-Mar-14
I loved this one it was a bit of fun. Out I went very carefully walking on water. I found the cache quickly and made my way back to dry land to open the bison, and sign the log and once again I was walking on water to return the bison to its resting place. We are really enjoying your caches Team BGF!!!

16-Mar-14
micheena - really glad I have Kerrydn21 with me today, as I'm still getting over my arm mishap from a few weeks ago. She walked on water to the cache and saved me leaving it for another day. Might be back a later date to just experience the fun.

09-Mar-14
Well it looks like fine weather for another adventure So joining Firesafe Freddo and 3lg at Dimboola we headed off the target was the high voltage series. We picked up alot of caches for that weekend and had a great weekend doing it we loved the views and finds all with great company

Thanks to Team BGF for placing the caches for us to find

09-Mar-14
Was over in Victoria on a 4 day caching weekend with Freddo, Honeysucker and 3LG. Our main goal was to do the High Voltage Power trail on Mt Buffalo but it didnt stop us grabbing caches on the way over and way home. Thanks to all the cache hiders for placing and maintaining the caches. Big Grin

09-Mar-14
Found on a 4 day caching run with Firesafe, Freddo and Honeysucker, its day 3 and now we head towards Benella collecting caches along the way, weather was perfect and i got to see some very interesting cache hides, a big thank you to all for hiding these caches for us to find on our journey and look forward to one day returning back to Victoria to cache more of this beautiful state. i packed the waders for the trip and as i was getting ready to put them on Freddo took his chances and walked down the branch and soon had cache in hand. TFTC

And I did.

This cache was found using a Garmin Montana 650t. Waypoints and paperless geocaching downloaded via GSAK 8.

Did the unforgivable sin, reaching out to get the cache, and plop, it does not float. Went back to the car and have replaced the cache in the same spot. Maybe a hook would help to secure it better.

02-Mar-14
Not sure how this has happened as the cache lives on a very secure hook, which should be very obvious when retrieving it. A new Bison has now been replaced to its correct spot. Yullaba had little chance of keeping it dry - thanks for the comment and putting a replacement there. Cache description will be updated to hopefully avoid a repeat.

01-Mar-14
Success!! Big Grin Back again on a dry, sunny day. A much easier task today and that pesky bison was quickly in hand. SL at 12.30pm and just about to return it when a muggle came along walking her dog. We waited until she passed by before returning the cache. TFTC Team BGF and for the adventure as well. #2009

26-Feb-14
Well walked the plank but no luck this time, will be back

23-Feb-14
well have been past here a few times now but today was the day. only one muggle paddled past and gave me a look [?] but all good and tftc.

# 7464 Found on the third leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure,
at another stopover in this town for a few days and to do the BLS series.
I had 2 attempts, the first I was very close and went away as it was not within sight.
On return with a better idea of where it must be, I had a quicker dash to retrieve it,
and was rewarded with a well concealed little micro that will have many more puzzled.
No sign of any muggles around at this late time of day.
Thanks for the cache Team BGF,
Roostaman.

15-Feb-14
Failed! Finding a bison that is - Mr harrowang certainly had a go at walking on water albeit a slippery adventure in the rain. Managed to keep his feet dry but no catch ....er cache was found. After that little non-adventure it is off to find some lunch to give us strength for the rest of the BLS series.

12-Feb-14
I would have walked on water, if I could have seen the 'Bison' Razz
But no way was I headed out there without an eye on the prize Red Face

TwistedTwistedTwisted

08-Feb-14
Down to Tatong for some maintenance with BettyBoo3747, then a few more in Benalla on a hot day.
Well we did walk on the water, but no bison was spotted Sad
Actually considered dropping in as it was very warm out there today Smile
It was probably only the thought of driving a considerable distance in wet clothes that put me off.
Thanks, Robmc.

I am amazed to get a FTF here in Benalla and we live about 70km away. Not bad for an old fella. Wink Well this one gets a fav from me, no wet feet and well worth it. TFTC team BGF
