My final day of my weekend down at the south-east on the Limestone Coast, I finished up a little earlier than anticipated, and so decided to make my slowly north grabbing a few geocaches. I drove through Tantanoola (finding a couple of newly published caches), then through Millicent, found a few more of the GV2020 caches that were inaccessible the last time I was driving that trail, and then I managed to geocache through Hatherleigh. My intermediate pit stop was at Parnka Point along the Coorong, and managed to find an oldie and adventurous island cache. Then, rather than a flying visit through Meningie along the Princes Highway, a decision was made to turn left around Lake Albert. Consequently, a few stops were made within Meningie and heading out, and then consequently at Long Point, Pelican Point, Raukkan and then finally through Narrung catching the ferry across. I had actually forgotten about the ferry here, and it was late by the time I was heading across, that I was glad to see it operating at all hours of the day.
I noted during my visit here, that this had been archived, but was likely still available. So I started searching and using some of the past log hints in my look. Eventually after 5-10 min, I found the darn evil cache container. So why did it need to get archived?? The logbook was signed, and evil cache placed back in its hiding spot, ready for any future Geocachers to visit. Again, a great spot with the pelicans, so will definitely return here. Thanks Ziggy58 for the cache placement.

Transitting between Millicent and Murray Bridge and this was one of the caches we targetted and found. A nice way to break the journey. Thanks to Ziggy58 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Millicent - Robe - Murray Bridge
As we came along the highway we picked up the bus stop series. As a child I went to school by bus leaving at 7.30am arriving at school at 9am, so I spent many hours travelling this way.
The later section was sand hills, salt pans & lakes, a totally different landscape.
Good co-ords here helped for a quick find.

#11610. Day 5 of our SA holiday. Today Robmc and I moved camp - left Robe and headed to Victor Harbor. It seemed a long trip and just for good measure we threw in a good assortment of cache finds along the way. Crossed the river at Wellington and had a very nice late lunch at Strathalbyn.
This was a bonus find for us today. Rob had it on his GPSr but I did not. Looking at my new Cachly app I realised that it had been found in the last month so we decided to go and have a look for it anyhow. To my surprise it took only a couple of minutes before I spotted it and had it to hand. Our names are now on the log. Container is most definitely here. Took a couple of photos of those fabulous pelicans atop the poles.
Thanks Ziggy58

Day Five of our holiday, BettyBoo3747 and I left Robe and headed around Encounter Bay to Victor Harbor. We did a few caches on the way.
How can we enjoy the view over the lake when we are looking for a nano, seriously?
Checked the main structure - nothing. Platform was next - BB found it!
Nice view across Lake Albert from here, and great pelican sculptures.
Thanks, Robmc.

We downloaded this cache prior to it being disabled, and as DNF logs do not deter us, you never know when you will get lucky.
We looked and found the cache. We made it hard for ourselves by looking in all the wrong places first. We then found the cache IPS, at first I thought that it may have been a black spider sitting in the corner so poked it with a stick first. It did not squish so I touched it with my hand and could not stop myself from smiling. Finding a nano is always good one that has not been found for a long time is even better. We took a photo of the start of the log as proof. SL TFTC

Nope. Couldn't find it. Too many watching eyes to allow us to conduct a decent search.
Damn those sneaky nandos but we got ya. Tftc beautiful view we had never seen this side of the lake before. And on the corner we found a thing tree how appropriate on Australia Day.
Finally found! Yes it had been annoying me as we often visit the area and this tiny nano eluded us, but today was the day! TFTC!
We are off on a 5 day holiday from Bendigo to Kangaroo Island, staying at Kingscote.
Today we are travelling from Robe to Victor Harbour with only a few stops allowed along the way.
We love the Coorong and have cached along the way a few times - a nice spot to stop and have our lunch and watch the birdlife. The cache didn't give us too much grief once we eliminated the seating area.

We'd bought lunch at a nearby bakery, and chose this location to east our pastries. By the time I was done eating, I was ready to move on, but Mrs J wanted to have another attempt at this one.
She searched where we'd searched before, while I thought a bit more outside the square. I ignored the GPSr arrow, and the terrain rating (the difficulty rating is obviously wrong, so why not everything else?), but we once again came up empty handed.
With more than half logged visits being DNFs, maybe it's time to be more specific in the hint?

04.19.16 tftc found at last, this little thing has been my arch nemesis, so after looking all over the place and about to DNF again I was sitting down sulking when Mrs G said is this what you are looking for. well words were said, glares were given, thanks passed on and kisses given, I am still claiming it as mine

Have already found this but revisited with clare007 and hevwalker. An extensive search (in the area where I previously found it) yielded nothing.
CPwanderer, clare007 & I stopped here on our way home from the weekend in the South East...
After an extensive search, while standing among the very high squishy green grass, using a torch & mirror even though it was still daylight we were not able to locate this cache...a bit crazy putting a nano here...

Our fourth and last day of our caching adventures around the lower SE.
hevwalker & I conducted a though search extracting extra equipment for better searching.
But still could not locate the item we were seeking.
Maybe next time I'm this way, thanks for the location we enjoyed watching the pelicans.

Looked high, looked low, looked underneath, looked beside, looked & looked & looked... Didn't find. I hate nanos.
Decided to take a little 2hr drive down to Meningie this afternoon. Our main aim was hoping to be first to a new Meningie traditional cache :c) but we missed out and placed silver. Whilst we were down here we did a quick town geo-tour :cP Luckily it did not take red long to locate this little nano... every we find one of these we think of Freddo... "Bloody Nanos! Spawn of Satan. Burn down the Nano factory, and exterminate anyone who sells Nanos." TFTC Ziggy58!
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!
Only had a quick look here with no luck and decided to try this another time as I was concerned about possible snakes in the grass in this hot weather.
Camping at Meningie for the Australia Day Long Weekend. After setting up house and chatting to the neighbours about what else...we headed out to explore and grab a few caches. After searching for a while for this one we resorted to a PAF. After a further search with clue in hand, we finally found! TFTC
A quick find after visiting Meningie Hospital for work.
I have visited and failed to find this little sucker numerous times, so it was great to finally find it.

Heading to Hotel Dork with the Dork, via Meningie , a day earlier than expected due to geobro' having to pull out of our planned weekend trip.
Between Adelaide and Berri, I found 6 caches
While geodad had some work to do, I went caching under strict instructions to find this pesky nano cache which we had previously DNF'd.
I spent well over an hour here, crawling and looking until I finally and in desperation emailed some geocachers for a hint
Very soon after the pesky nano was in hand
Thankfully, I never have to see this lookout again now
Well, I did have to come back with Moneydork so that he could find it too

Day 4 of our trip to Mount Gambier and we all (Moneydork, Tounga, sushilord and I) had the whole day to cache while slowly heading home...slowly because there are sooo many caches to find
All up, I had 53 cache finds and 3 DNFs for the day.
DNF!
As Moneydork had previously DNFd this cache, we had to stop and look!
With 3 of us looking for well over half an hour, going over the structure twice and making a PAF to a previous finder, we just could not find the cache.
Torch, mirror and crawling right underneath didn't help.
Hopefully I'll get back one day to actually find the nano.

This was the most hateful nano we've done in a long time much rummaging on this huge structure. Got there in the end whilst I was counting down the last 10 seconds tftc great view

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
Feedback to CO: Bit concerned about the Gazanias here - being nicely trampled. Hint doesn't help - Nano's ARE magnetic. Not sure why a Nano is here anyway as there is plenty of room for a larger container - one where the DR could be a genuine 1.5
Thanks anyway to Ziggy58 for bringing us to this location.

There must have been a pelican convention at this lookout - there were just so many but they were rather wary as we approached the platform. After a short search, the cache was located in a good hide. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache Ziggy58.
A weekend of caching with Freddo down at the South East.
We went as far as the Little Deset National Park.
I wouldn't want to be looking for thius one in the summer. Snakey spot for sure.

Impossibly small!! My first nano. The husband was ready to call it quits. On my last sweep I found the little santanic spawn! So proud. Think it's a creeper tho, way off point, will put it back at the gps points
Ridiculous!!!! Found it. Nearly ready to give up after searching half hour. GPS was out abit by about 4 metres. Very very tiny. Yep hate Nanos!!
Dropped by for an attempt at finding this cache, but came up empty handed. We checked on the hint and immediately called it quits.
Well, we had a pretty good idea where this one would be, but didn't dare to go hunting as I was too afraid of spiders or snakes. But we found a wonderful view instead.
Wow. That was a tough search. Was at the lookout with Teenytinyturtle for a solid 20 minutes before he came up with the goods. Love the challenge and the view. Great cache!

Sadly a DNF for me today even with the help of previous finder JJ52 still unable to locate.
May need a check CO.

Sucks to be looking for a nano on a vast structure like this. Makes looking for a nano on a cannon seem easy.

TFTC.15.55. From Perth to Melbourne is our last vacation journey in Australia, along this route, we look for caches. Greetings from the Netherlands
Last for the day and a fairly quick find.
A nice area to visit and late in the day there was plenty of birdlife to be seen. The council has done a nice job with this structure.
Thanks.

While staying in Murray Bridge we decided to expand our horizons and try some caches further down south. We visited the Wellington Strawberry Fair and then continued on to this lovely spot. There were lots of long weekend holidaymakers enjoying this lovely town.
A fisherman nearby prevented us from having a good look so we came back about three hours later and had a much better look....but it wasn't good enough.....and we can't claim it may have gone because the CO has just replaced the log
Thanks anyway Ziggy58[^]

Second name on a new log, took a little while to find. Plenty of waterbirds about the place today. TFTC
Moving day today from Narrung to Keith. We managed to stop at Meningie and unhitch the 'house' to find some caches before moving on.

Catching up on some very late logs.
This was our last day of our caching visit to South Australia but still hoping to grab a few more before getting to Portland.
What a pleasant way to start with the early morning mist coming off the lake, some Pelicans sitting on a roost with the ducks swimming underneath.
With no muggles around we were free to search which turned out good as this one took us a few minutes to locate and add our name to the log.
Thanks Ziggy58 for a nice hide in a great area.

Struggled with this one ..... not helped by an endless stream of muggles wanting to use "my" lookout. Phoned two friends for help..... got answering machines both times .... Both soon got back to me ... giving conflicting versions as to where to search. In the end I found it .... in yet a different location. Obviously this little critter wanders. Thanks Ziggy58 for the hide.
After calling in to visit some old Barossa friends we called in here after a DNF last time in the pouring rain. A beautiful although cold winters day with clear skies made for an instant find this stop. I normally have replacement log sheets for this type of container but sorry that I didn't today to help you out. Thanks for bringing us here to learn some animal and birds facts along the lake SL TFTC
We had stopped down the road at some friends and when leaving realised we were near this one again!
Not pouring this time so we stopped and had the Spawn of Satan within 30 seconds!
The geokids were happy to do some bird spotting with the pics on display. They spotted 3.
Took longer to re-roll the log roll as we signed the last, now full, space! We didn't have a replacement handy, sorry.
Thanks
