Staying overnight in Alice on my way to a mine site, I took the opportunity to find a few geocaches in the area and visit the town and its surroundings.

Found this one rather quickly after dropping the dear wife off at the nearby hair and beauty parlour. I wasn't sure what the elephant on the roof was all about but as l pondered it l also went for a quick cache run and soon had the cache in hand. Found by Mary & David at 1510. We were both RAAF Officers, and recall many wonderful functions at many different Bases. Loved the art works. We suspect that the "unique" part of the cache has gone, although we could see where something might have been attached. The remainder of the container is missing its lid, and needed a bit of repair work, which the engineer was able to carry out. Our thanks to 2Lost-Souls.

Our last full day in Alice, along with trying to add more smiley tokens to our geo-map, a last minute catch up with friends and the Sunday market were all on the agenda. Plus of course being on time for the fireworks show.

Travelling on the Road Trip to end all Road Trips. Kyzabra and I are travelling from Perth to Alice Springs (via the Great Central Road) for the Red Centre Experience Event over Easter. We are travelling in Kyzabra's GeoPajero and grabbing caches along the way of course.

Here in Alice Springs for the Red Centre Event. Out with Geo-friends going here and going there finding all the hidden caches. Had a great time locating. Apologies for the generic log, however due to the number of caches found, this was the best way to log. To all the CO a big thank you, it was a memorable time visiting Alice Springs and the surrounding areas. TFTC

Our Spring Geocaching trip go this year to Australia...yes you read right, in Finland is spring now.
We visit in Australia (Adelaide, Murray Bridge, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Coober Pedy, Uluru, Alice Springs, Port Vincent and other place which are on the way those places) on April 05.-20.

We see many beautiful place where we visit and enjoy every cache what we found, so humble thanks every cache owner that you hiding this cache!

We (kapeka, laalaa, J&T. and Hiltsu) use common nickname Team ICE, T-ICE or TICE that we saves space in the logbook.

Easter Saturday at The Red Centre Experience - morning caching with the Venn Family, Patrol14 and Echocage1 to finish off the AA Series we started yesterday. That task completed, we settled in for an afternoon of caching with joojoo57 around the town itself.

Bring on these old historical bits of info - love 'em! Clever, but typical hide.

Headed out with Ahomburg and Sedgwickdave today for a drive out to the Capricorn and to find some caches along the way. TFTC

Day 4 in Alice and the day was mostly spent in and around town. Thanks to all the COs for the wonderful hides and showing us around your lovely city.

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.

All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!

We spent three days caching around Alice Springs. This is so different area than bushy flat desert around it. Lots of beautiful places to see. Truly Red Centre Experience for us.

We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

After an awesome helicopter ride over the McDonnell Ranges this morning, we decided to head into town for some of the CBD caches. Caching with dark side dan and nibletricecakes. Signed as MiNi DSD

Headed for REPCO to get a new battery as the last 3 mornings our ute hasn't started. We won't want problems on the way home in the Simpson so we decided to replace it. 30 mins until opening so we grabbed 3 caches. This was one of them. I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.

Next stop for the day. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and it was off to the next cache.

14/04/2017 15:33 Along with my wife Sue and daughters Rhiannon and Rachael I am here for the Alice event 'Red Centre Experience'. I parked the van and got out and searched and search GZ. I even posted a DNF. Finally I asked the wife to help. She spotted it in only a moment. So now I can post the FOUND it log YAY!!! TFTC 2Lost-Souls TNLN SL

I met a couple of other cachers here, and we were all ready to log a DNF, after searching for something unique for about 30 minutes. Apparently we were trying too hard, and eventually looked in the obvious spot, and there it was! Soon after, another couple of cachers arrived, and shared the experience. Like other caches found during this event, the best part was meeting up with new friends on the caching trail!

This cache was the one of many caches along my 5 week, 5,000km trip to the Red Centre event, then out to Kings Canyon and Uluru, trekking in my Trakka! Apologies in advance for the generic logs, but there are a few!

Many thanks to all the CO's for making the journey so interesting!

Alice trip 2017. Day 11. Today was the second day of the Alice Springs Red Center event. Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I had hotcross bus with smitten Granny, then headed out for caching in the CBD and suburbs. Things were made easier on a quiet day.

#6801 - 09:08; Day 13 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. We are in Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience event which is the primary justification for our trip. Today's mission is to cache in and around Alice Springs, taking advantage of the public holiday to clear high muggle area. In all the day saw us collect 67 finds without a DNF! Another great day . All caches found were in good order, including this one. TFTC 2Lost-Souls

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We arrived in Alice Springs to pick up fitzy_1965 to complete our group and set about the fun of attending the event.

We spent the next 5 days caching around the region enjoying the area and finding a lot of the local caches. A great spot to visit and well worth the effort to get here.

Second cache on our hitlist after lunch. We arrived to find another geocacher who was about to leave with a DNF. but she decided to wait and see if we could locate it. Locating it took about 10 minutes as the GPSr was a bit jumpy and often indicated to the middle of the road.
