Like many, we failed to find it here!

Out with m4yb and the Two+Four team after completing the GRR, we are now slowly heading home getting a cache or 3 on the way. No joy for us either so think this one should be gone or maintained.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 16. After a leisurely start from El Questro I headed back to the bitumen and SW along the Northern Highway to Halls Creek.

I headed down for a quick look, but did not see anything the others had missed.

Thanks.

We spent 17 days exploring the Kimberley trekking from Darwin to Broome along the Gibb River Road. It was an amazing adventure, with beautiful scenery lots of wild life and great company with Kimberley Off Road Adventures.
We were camped about a km away from the bridge at a nice little water hole. I got up before dawn and walked back out to the highway. Had a pretty thorough search but didn’t come up with the goods.

After having an enjoyable couple of nights with friends in Kununarra it was time to hit the road again and see how far caching took us before our next camp.

Again we had to pull up a fair way passed the creek to get a safe car park and then had an enjoyable stroll back to gz. We got to where the needle was pointing and though "Oh bugger", it wasn't as easy as we had hoped it might be. Once we arrived at gz it wasn't as hard as we thought it might be either and we are pleased to say that our name has now been added to the log. We then took some pictures of the magnificent looking boab tree trying to work out what would have caused this huge scar in it's trunk. On the upside we didn't get bitten by a march fly but we did see one.

Thanks once more for the cache Bushies2

Singapore - Perth - Rottnest Island - Penguin Island - Geraldton - Kalbarri - Denham - Carnarvon - Coral Bay - Exmouth - Port Hedland - Broome - Darwin and all Nationalparks on our way

Our trip with Stopover in Singapore and through Western Australia to the Northern Territory with the Campervan from Perth to Darwin led us to many beautiful caches. Sometimes the temperatures were very high for us Europeans, but we have always managed the walk well and are looking forward to standing so many miles from home in the logbook. Australia is a very fantastic country, with lots of sights and especially so many animals, from the kangaroo over dugongs, dolphins, emu's and even the blue whale and the whale shark we have seen a lot. We would like to thank all the owners for the layout of the caches, their care and the showing of mostly special places.

We send many greetings and a G 'Day from Leipzig in Germany from the 2 Supermuggels

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends before flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Kununurra, Emma Gorge, El Questro, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!

This was a nice quick find at Ground Zero. As others before us have noted, what a great specimen is that Baob! Thanks so much for the cache.

Hi there Bushies22.

We found your cache **"Don't get bitten by a Marchfly!"** at 10:26:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14270.

We have stopped off here to break our journey from Darwin to Broome. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour today, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

... on our journey through the northwest part of australia from darwin to perth we could find some outback-caches as well as some city-

boxes. during our 7.191km trip unfortunately many caches with simple D/T-assessment could not be found, there were few nicely hidden

boxes and

some powertrail-like scattered containers (although in the continent-adjusted extent of "only" 10-15km between them) ... this has

somewhat reduced the fun and we decided not to log the DNFs since we had the impression that the owners didn’t really feel responsible

for their own caches.

most owners seem to be peppermint friends, because the little tin cans are so widespread as the film containers are with us (in Germany).
to all the owners a friendly tftc accompied by the plea to understand this generalised log entry as there were so many caches on our trip.

no worries

Another driving day heading west after leaving Kununurra.
Hardly any muggles around and some good quick finds, before it starts to get hot again.
It's very warm around here, especially for the end of June!!! Wink
Yes almost 2 months with no finds, then 4 in less than a week. Nice big Boab tree too. Wink
Thanks for the cache Bushies2,

We really know how you feel Landlocked Sailors. We downloaded this one 2 weeks ago in Kununurra before heading west on the Gibb. On our way back we detoured to the Bungles, but we left there this morning with our fingers crossed.
Who'da thought it. Not found for over 2 months since publication, and then found 3 times on the same day. Sometimes the geocaching gods must look down and have a real belly laugh!!!
If Landlocked Sailors earned the silver, then we must have the bronze.

Found this one during my roadtrip through Australia on my way to Derby. Cache was in excellent condition considering it hasn't been found since being published. Quick find & my first FTF. Sorry for the late log, but I had no internet.

Thanks for the cache &

Bushies2, I've been watching this cache since it first popped up on my list when we were in Broome... and a FTF was looking good as we got closer, geographically, seeing as it was first published two months ago - and here we were, mid-June and no finders.

A quick find... and a silver medal for us. Pipped at the post by a finder today!!! Today!!! How unlucky is that?

I spent more time trying to retrieve the pencil that popped out of the systema and fell into the rock face than looking for the cache!
