Oh, I did not realise that the cache was archived but I found it ok.
Anyway, thanks Kevin and Dean for the cache.

Cache is a bit OLD. I'll find a new location and container in December.
For now .... it's dead.
For now .... it's dead.
After paying for 1 hour's parking and taking 10 mins to find one of the other Lofty caches, then taking 45 mins for lunch at the restaurant and admire the views, that only left 5 mins to find and log this cache. I used the advice given by the Kettles and others and moved right down the hill past the published GZ. There was the cache. Uh oh, why is it upside down? The reason was soon apparent. The container's lid no longer fits as the plastic lip is non-existant - UV rays have completely degraded the plastic. Everything in the cache was wet for there is no water proofing. Needs a new container.
While finding the other one 65 metres away thought I would try again for this one. With a couple of logs helped a bit. Went to GZ, gave up and walked back down 12 metres and found the cache. The lid doesn't seal anymore so the contents are damp. Container will need replacing. TNLNSL TFTC.
We found our 1st Kevin and Dean cache at 9:25am as the 5th of 30 on our Mallee Melee with Cold Freeze and Bazzars. When I got down to GZ, there were just too many places to look. Only with a bit of inspiration from The Kettles log, did I head downhill in the right direction to find the cache some 15m away. Thanks for the cache from D B-A.
No joy in finding this one for me. Too much rubbish around, too many fallen branches, too many rocks and just not enough time to waste looking.
Went for a walk whi9le showing our exchange student the views of Adelaide, luckily it was raining there were no muggles keen on going for a walk to surprise us. Cheers. MODU.
We found the cache as part of an awesome adventure from Summertown to Mt lofty and back again. We saw the GPS pointing off into the scrub so we wandered up the slope thinking it wouldn't be far. Somehow the GPS lied (again) and we seemed to climb up and up to where the cache was supposed to be. Somehow we crossed a road and found another track, so it certainly felt like we were bush bashing.
After a short search, success, and the cache was ours. The plastic log bag was torn so we placed it in another bigger one. Thanks Kevin and Dean for a lovely day in amongst the trees, kangaroos and natural bush.

Finally got back to have another go at this one. The muggle count was very high as it was Mother's Day and a very beautiful day as well. Some of the boys climbed up to GZ to search while Pa Kettle stood guard and watched the sunset. As it started to get dark Pa Kettle said "Forget it. Let's go.", but as the boys started climbing back down one of them exclaimed "Found it!!" almost loud enough for all the muggles up above to hear.

#8 on my Mother's Day Family Caching Treat! We must have JUST missed the Kettles as we were there around the same time, but we couldn't find it. Mind you the Seeker had enough and he is sooooooooo good at these ones!

Decided to have a go at this one on our way home from a find at Woorabinda Hide. After climbing around the rocks and fallen branches the eagle-eyed Mrs A spotted it.

Not so much a DNF as could not even search. As I was about to head off for GZ a busload of Asian schoolchildren appeared.
Did however collect the brownie points for walking in from Waterfall Gully.

Wandered around in the dark for a while without any luck. Only about a million rocks it could be under. Was disturbed by some muggles and my companions were getting impatient so maybe another day.
Wouldn't want to do this one in sandals. Lots of broken glass around. Took police car and left dinosaur/crocodile toy.
I think the terrain may have changed a fair bit since this was placed. Plodded through felled trees, rocks, broken glass and a little building rubble to eventually find a cache. It's easier to approach from the west now, surely! Left Ngendo, who has ambitions to travel. TFTC
Another find today with LuckDogsCrew. I took the longer but easier way there. TFTC.
I wish someone would clear this area of rubbish. Failed to find this one.
Oh well!
Oh well!
Took us a while to get to search for this one, due to lots of muggles enjoying the view on a nice Sunday morning.

This one took a while to find...GPS coords on our GPS recorded 34 58.434, 138 42.510. TNLN. Geodad found this one on fathers day.
nearly to the cache and the GPS batteries died so back to the car for more before we found it. Everythings pretty wet and has cooties and probably needs a little love.
woot hi five bout the cooties foxzami stoopid batteries dying should get a perpetual motion GPS LOL
Found on our mad Lofty Peaks Saturday extravaganza.
While we were in the area, we picked up this nearby cache.
Good to see the tree canopy has grown so well over the last 15 years since we were last here, blocking out the tourist muggles admiring the city views.
A good hide which took awhile to find.
Took jeep.
Left police car and new log book (old one is full).

Hundred-and-twenty-second of 128 finds on "The Big Adelaide Assault" in company with acts2youthgroup and HawMorFords. This was the first of three caches in close proximity to each other at Mt Lofty. We found this one at 2225. I made no exchange. Thanks to four-fun for the cache. Cheers, dak.

We did indeed have Lofty Ambitions at the start of the day but had no idea we would be logging a cache of the same name atop Mt. Lofty at this time of night!

Same hill same wind as Mercury. Seems to be within the 'close together' rule, but thats OK by me. A bit tricky in the conditions.

There were plenty of tricky places to hide a cache here, but I couldn't find a cache in any of them! Luckily after a long search, Stealth found the cache in probably the most obvious place . Cache was quite damp; we tried to dry it out in the sun. Left a Jeep TB. TFTC.
[Certainly had a fair area to search with this one. GPS had me running east, west, north, south. If you want to save yourself 30 mins read on...] It's sort of east from the seat and the sign that says 'adaptation in the forest' no more than twenty metres from the track and at the base of a tree.

Had come here a week ago on the public holiday and the place was swarming with muggles. Found Mucury quickly and send the geokids up to have a quick look around while we sat on the seat and diverted attention. The GPS was swinging around everywhere so we gave up.
Came home and checked some old logs and saw Voogoo's beerglass photo. Geoteen says 'I saw that'. Came back figuring it would be easy. Place still had muggles everywhere and we still didn't find the cache!

Muggles! What are they doing there, right between Lofty Ambitions and Mercury? That's OK, they won't be there long. WRONG!. Two orbits, a round of drinks and much toe tapping before they finally moved off. Mrs wasn't sure if she saw what may have been a GPS under an arm, but nothing in the logs. Poured out the water in the cache and wrote in the log with the texta as the pencil or pen wouldn't write on the damp paper. Instructed Drama Princess to reinstall the cache upside down to increase its resistance to rain. Took memory to help me with my CRAFT disease, left some bubble mix. TFTC
First I couldn't find it. Started from Mt Lofty Summit and my GPSr showed me different points over an area of 150 sqm. Had to find the Mercury cache first, then get the bearing and finally use my regular compass. Then I found it!

Found in the dark after an ambitious effort to nab a couple on the way home from work. Probably should have just gone home, but hey...
Found after a little searching... Gps had us 20m out to start with! TNLNSL Cheers
Cache was a bit waterlogged when I found it. Also I think a new log is required, the previous one is a bit full!!
TNLNSL, Thanks
TNLNSL, Thanks
Looked everywhere, took a break to find another cache and almost gave up until gozling finally discovered the elusive cache!! (finally decided to log find as an official cacher.)
A long search in an area with hundreds of potential cache-concealing rocks and stumps. Found eventually with voogoofish and little sis after a quick break to find another nearby cache!! TNLNSL
Last visit unsuccesful on August 20th 2005 I came back with Gozling... and after a long search Gozling found it... Took nothing left Badge. tried to clean up the damp cache... luckily log still in reasonable nick. my nemesis is gone! cheers. Also check out an amazing photo (well I think so)
Approached from the top - lazy! Nice walk, did another cache very near here some time ago. Lovely area, quite a few tourists around but not where we were. Nearby wildflowers were in full bloom. Cache contents were very damp due to condensation but the log book was OK. Left dog (not a real one) and a Klem Bear. Took nothing. Thanks Kevin and Dean.
Had a few issues with the unit also, but found in the fading light, A wicked way to end a very plesant weekend. Lots of strange thing to be found down here. TNLN
Had a lot of difficulty getting a GPS fix in this location. Great views.

Last of 7 for the day. GPS fritz wasnt helpful and a few muggles had no idea what we were doing. great end to an action packed wkend though. Da Frizz is here...
An easy find while we watched the city do a dissapearing act behind fog as various clouds rolled through. TNLNSL.
Finally on the 3rd attempt. Sunset is a great time to search for this one because all the muggles above are blinded by the light. Still felt a bit exposed through. Actually I was hunting around for a good 20 minutes and was about to give up when I stumbled upon it. A bit closer to the path below than my GPS wanted me to be. Glad to have finally knocked this one off. TNLN.
GPSr had me about 30m off at first, and after seeing a couple of well worn freeway exits, i made my way back onto the track, and started heading for mercury. Spotted the mercury hiding spot, then saw a likely place for this one.
Completed this one, then shot down the hill for mercury.

Called by this morning to collect Key to the Heart TB. Now have all the codes to Unlock the Mystery. Just have to decipher it all now! Dropped off Moose Jaw Sask TB (all the way from Cache in the Middle from Brisbane). Cheers!
Got it about 12.10 on a lovely public holiday..
Not that many people about at this time, which is a good thing considering where I needed to scramble.. It's nice not having too hike too far to get to the next cache.
Grabbed the TB 'Moose Jaw'
Cheers Kevin and Dean.

Third one in the summit trilogy, took longer to find than the other two combined as GPSr was about 10m off. Took pocket knife and left toy jeep and TB key to the heart SL. Can't believe how close together these caches are!!
Thanks Kevin and Dean

Should have gone to Mercury first.
TN, left kid's toy watch and pocket knife.

Stumbed around in the dark for a while but eventually had to call it a night. Will be back.
Found 20:20. This was the second attempt at this cache. With the recently disturbed ground by J&J (NOT!) the cache was a long time not in hand. With the GPSr swinging around in circles, I spent a lot of time looking under many rocks; many, many rocks; many, many, many rocks. Until it twigged……?. TNLNSL. Cheers!
Our second visit to this spot, our return spurred on by a new cache in the area. No thick choking smoke from a burnoff today, but still spent a while searching the hillside and trying to get reasonable exposure to sattelites. Spotted it eventually, TNLNSL. Thanks Kevin and Dean.
Was having a lot of trouble with sat lock, so after quite a bit of searching went to an obvious hiding place and found, which was 11m away from where gps said gz was. Seems like a lot of others have had similar problems. Stanleys
Had a look before going to check out Mercury. Then returned and after another long look eventually found it when heading off ttowards Mercury again. This seems to be the tactic here, give up, go to Mercury and then find it on the way. TNLN
But did see a really huge spiky lizard which bailed up MiniZyth2. It wasn't moving but was giving that "one step closer and I'll tear your face off" look.

So many rocks. As the wife was in the car with the dog (which could not be brought into the conservation park) I took this one after Mercury but eventually ran out of time. I'll have to come back again and search under a few more rocks!!
Found after quite a search, was actually heading off to 'Mercury' when stumbled across it. Is there some cache creep involved? Going by many of the logs half can't find it and the other half find it a long way from the posted gz.
Thanks for bringing me up here, reminds of another place i can bring interstate/international visitors!
Left a patch TNSL
Thanks
PS: Found a large gentlemens ring near the cache. Anyone lose one, or know someone who did, email me.

One J only, braved the thick choking smoke from the burn-off below, to scale the incline. Had clear line of sight to muggles, and CFS were swarming the tower, making me feel a tad nervous about this. I found about a half dozen bread crates scattered about tossed, presumably by some drunkard from the muggle attraction, but no cache. Gave up and descended to find the other J looking like a lamington from all the ash fallout. We will return when we don't require respiratory assistance.
Parked at the top (because at the bottom, they lock you in) and walked down, then ran back up in 39 and 45 minutes respectively. Found easily. TNLN. Thanks.
We were only a short distance away at "Mercury" with great satloc, as we approached GZ satloc went a little crazy. Gave up searching after 15 minutes or so. Will be back.
A short stroll up the hill from Mercury saw us searching in every spot we could think of with no luck. Headed back to the car for a re-think and quick check of the notes. Sounded like teams have had a hard time finding this cache so after broadening the search area we got lucky. Took crayons and left tape measure. Beware of broken glass.
The Mercury was rising and this one is soooooo close.
Sat lock was a little more difficult here and were found it while showing 5m away. Darkness was rapidly approaching and with a couple of muggles on the ramparts, we had to be careful.
TOOK: "Key to the Kingdom #11" Travel Bug N0. 485757 and also Princess Doll,

Thought I'd take 10 minutes to look for this one when visiting as a tourist with my parents. Mount Lofty is certainly a breathtaking spot! Approached from the south west, after following a path the long way around! Unfortunately, although the GPSr insisted that I was right on top of the cache, I could not find it. (Not having seen the cache sheets, and the the geocaching.com.au WAP site being down, did not help!). Will have to try again when I next come to SA. Warning to those clambering around the site - watch out for broken glass and drug debris!
Whilst passing on a Curious mission I dropped in to see if this one is still there. Yes it is.
Could not find this cache... or the TB I needed that was in it. Is it still there??? managed to take some of the drug trash out of the area...
Went seeking this cache today with no joy
Very disappointed with the amount of rubbish, broken glass and empty N2O canisters.
NB (They're not CO2 but NitrusOxide; whipped cream ones; kids suck them down, and with the 200 or so in the bag I found too, leads me to conclude there's people out there with serious brain damage!)
I will return to try and find this cache and the TB and remove as much rubbish and glass as humanly possible. Could all other geocachers heading to this cache please bring a heavy plastic bag to do the same.

So close to "Mercury", but took longer to find. Another nearby "stash" of about 200 CO2 soda capsules in a blue rucksack was a bit of a puzzle. Took red bear (which we dropped off in "The Parklands" later in the day).
A quick visit, by vehicle, although we have walked this from Waterfall Gully many a time, to drop off the TB "Key to the Kingdom"

The "Great Geocaching Shuffle" sent me & Team Langy this way and I was yet to find this cache so I killed 2 birds with 1 stone. The Sat Lock was shocking, all over the place, after about 15mins of searching it turned up. TN L Key To The Heart SL. Thanx.
A break in the passing muggle traffic on a pleasant public holiday afternoon allowed me to grab this unseen. A quick swap, took a koala and left some crayons, sign the logbook and back in it's hidey hole. Also replaced the ziplock which had broken open. Thanks Kevin & Dean.
'Lofty' TB is now an actual resident as opposed to its previous virtual existence.
Found it during our walk to the summit a good hiding spot in a area with great views

Tried to find this cache twice in the last two weeks. It has still got to be the hardest cache around Adelaide. Found it with help two years ago but not today.
Whoops. I left tbug Lofty here only virtually. In actual fact it over the other side of the hill at The Parklands.
After being thwarted on some Freddo caches in the lowlands (it's amazing the number of mugles around on a Sat afternoon) we decided to go to the highlands. Found cache within a few minutes. Took nothing & Left TB Wereldreiziger-2. Thanks Kevin & Dean.
I think this place has Lofty Ambitions to be the highest priced kiosk in Australia. $6.30 for an iced tea and small bottle of coke and you have to pay for parking.
I had a quick look while Jnr Parrothead was at the top but had no luck. She joined me and we had another shot at it.
I put the rucksack right down next to the cache then proceeded uphill without even seeing it. Jnr Parrothead came up the winner as she started searching near the rucksack.

The Wibbles have looked unsuccessfully at length for this cache on two occasions before. Poor sat lock all the time and about a million possible hiding places! After about 20 minutes of searching this cache was rapidly making its way to the very top of our nemesis cache list, when we finally stopped trying to get the GPSr to tell us where it was and widened our search - and there it was, in plain view!!
TNLN and covered it up a little better than it was before.

As I neared GZ I heard voices above at the top of the hill and thought I saw some tables by the edge. Thinking someone was having dinner or similar, I very slowly crept through the bush, avoiding all sound by mainly stepping on rocks rather than twigs. After some time, I neared the top and discovered what was up there, so from then on, noise was not an issue.
My GPS had led me all over the place, but after a while, my widened search brought me to the cache. No exchange was made. Thanks, Kevin and Dean, for introducing me to Mt Lofty.
