After an early start to the day in Edithburgh, we headed out on a coolish day with iluvtrekking to grab some finds in Innes NP and others a bit further afield. Thanks Burton's

Today we walked along Flaherty’s Beach grabbing the odd cache as we went. Great piles of seaweed covering much of the sand after the recent high tides and strong winds.

Many thanks for the hide Burton's

Found with Olga at 2:12 pm whilst driving around the west coast of the peninsula

Seriously, a mint tin out here?

A beautiful walk from Flaherty's beach car park. We could have driven, but Luna enjoyed the walk, as did we, on a beautiful sunny afternoon at lowest tide

Found with gridge98 on a weekend away to the yorke peninsula.

Thanks for the cache

After already deflating the tyres north of this beach for some other caches we came to this beach. A nice drive along finding the caches, the beaches for really soft towards the last 2km but got through okay. All the caches are in good condition and had to replace 1.

A big trip away to the yorke peninsula planned for the weekend travelling around touristing and have a look at sights I’ve seen before, plus camping over the 4 days wherever we needed up at the end of the day. Plus why not find 116 caches along the way for the trip. Despite the wind on the first evening the rest of the trip we were delighted by the beautiful weather.

Thanks for the cache

Didn't find this one last time we were here... because it wasn't!!!

Today the bat boy found the replacement shiny tin quite quickly.
Thankfully no one appeared to be in the nearby caravan to disturb this time too Razz

thanks Burton's for the smiley from another great cache hide celebrating a caching legend Big Grin

Found on a daytrip birthday caching with Purrfect Di , Sebastbat , and Jack.
What do you do when you can't have a few days off caching... cram it into one!!!
Only found a handful, but they were awesome views, fun drives, refreshing walks,
redeeming some dnfs and generally have a great day enjoying the sunshine and caching Cool

I've been meaning to tackle the 'Mad May Birthdays & 50's strip' series for a long time now, but until recently haven't had the chance to get over to the western side of the peninsula. Starting at the northern Hardwicke Bay end we travelled south along the beach searching for caches along the way. The trip turned into an impromptu maintenance run as it's been many months between some of the finds and several caches were either badly damaged or missing. Ended up replacing the caches dedicated to TWDG, Lee is a puppy, firesafe and Liz. Really enjoyed the drive along the beach, and exited at the southern end near Point Turton. Thanks for the cache and series Burton's!

19-Jan-19
No sign of this one today. Sad
No logs for 13 months.
The woman and dog on the other side of the fence didn't tackle us, but did seem interested to watch us here and happy when we left! Made it hard to search, but we did a thorough look around the trees here.
There was also a lot of cut branches from these trees lying around at GZ like someone has cleaned up!!!!
Odd that, considering the location, but may have improved their view. May have cleaned up the cache too [:(!]
Thanks for the challenge Burton's ,
will place on the watch list and return asap when it's been found or maintained!

Over on Yorke Peninsular visiting the rellies. Cool Time for our morning walk so we parked in Point Turton and set off on the Walk The Yorke trail. [^].
Wow the School camp Site has sure changed since last time I walked out along here. Then it was the old igloo huts from the fifties. Surprised Last time I came out here this trail wasn't here either so it made for nice walking. Finally came to the end of the made track and hit the beach....or seaweed. Razz
Only a few hundred metes to the first cache. This one. Outside the old Pony Club. No riders or ponies today, or for a while. Cache quickly located. Smile
Thanks Burton's for the cache. Big Grin

Found on a weekend away to try out the new camper.
Approached from the south - what a beautiful beach ! TFTC

Too cold to swim today so were taking the kids on a geo hunt instead. Fun drive along the beach from Point Turton brought us here.

15-Dec-16
#2291 Drove the geojeep out of Point Turton to GZ. It was low tide, so before searching for the cache we managed to walk about 600 metres off shore without going over knee deep (it was far too cold for anything further!) This was just magic, just us and the geodogs and no body else within nautiacal miles!

When we did return for the cache we were worried as there was a significant amount of disturbance near GZ. Luckily the cache which was lying out in the open hadn't been muggled. After signing the log we replaced it at the base of the nearest tree towards Point Turton to give it some protection. CO may want to check up at some stage. TFTC Burton's.

First we must appologise for the generic logs.

Our driver drove so far and then we choose to get out and walk to this one. It was found on the ground so replaced at a higher elevation above where we found it.

We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.

We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.

When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

On this occassion, I am doing a generic log. I have travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. The variety of caches was interesting, some very clever, some the quick grab they were designed to be. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.

Found with Zobo04, Borisb&Natasha and Bounty Trackers. Heading on our way to The York Peninsula for Easter and to catch up with the rest of our group. Sorry for the late logs life sometimes has an uncanny way of getting in the way. I was busy trying to get in front of KTCvic whom we are meeting up with. So lets get as many caches as we can along the way so for 5 minutes I will have more finds. Nothing like a little friendly competition. Thanks for making our trip fun and TFTC OMG think we met the rudest person in the world at this spot. The nearby landowner female variety is a force to be reckoned with. Sad. Thanks for the entertainment

Geo Nerds Yorke Peninsula caching exposition consist of Borisb&Natasha, Zobo04,De Ja Vu, KTCvic, Gonefishen07, Velocachu & Bounty Trackers.
Gonefishen07, Zobo04, Borisb&Natasha and myself Bounty Trackers left on Wednesday morning with one objective, to get Gonefishen07 cache finding count higher than KTCvic who was about 100 cache in front. We spent 2 days straight chasing caches all the way from Gippsland in Victoria to The York Peninsula in SA, where we finally got 8 caches ahead of KTCvic. The smile on Gonefishen face said it all ( I think the comment was made CATCH ME NOW Trenty ).

Along our journey we made a side trip to Gawler to get the multi Fort Knox cache which was on our hit list. What a brilliant cache. Well worth the detour. It will be getting a favorite point from me.
On Friday Velocachu, KTCvic & De Ja Vu graced up with there presents and it was time to start the Yorke Peninsula Geo Art Starting at Hook then Jellyfish, Fish, Anchor, some of Fish Tales,Sammy Starfish and most of the Boat, we then did Sally starfish, and the rest of Fish Tales and then finished with the leftover boat.

Milestone achieved

Velocachu 500
Zobo04 2000
Borisb&Natasha 2000
De Ja Vu 3000
KTCvic 4000
Gonefishen07 4000
Bounty Trackers 4000

Thanks to all the cache owners for the effects in placing such a great series we just loved it.

A BIG THANKYOU to Kate,Rob,Sioux,Katy,Trent,Leesa,Campbell & Zoe for a fun filled Easter long weekend, I had a great time with lots of laughs, thanks again.

It was with great excitement that I headed to South Australia with the Geo Nerds consisting of Gonefishen07, Bounty Trackers, KTCvic, de ja vu, Zobo04 & Velocachu.
I have never cached outside of Victoria, nor in a group and I was really looking forward to it.
Every single one of us achieved a very memorable milestone made even more special because they were achieved with very special friends.
Thank you so much to the many COs for the time and effort in placing their caches. I'm sure it enables many groups like ours to get together, have lots and lots of fun and form life long friendships, all in the quest for little pieces of treasure.
P.S. I think we met Mad May on the property adjacent to where we stopped for this cache.

Camped at Point Turton, and this morning we headed down to the National Park, with Konie.
With a bit of time after lunch, we decided to check out the local 4wd track.

After a few walks into the sand dunes, we soon found a number of caches.
Added our names to names to the log, and it was off to the next one.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Burton's, for us and others to find.

Having decided to travel back along the 4wd track to Hardwick Bay...in the dark....we stopped at this one to assess the lunacy of the idea. There were a couple of locals down on the beach, so while I searched in the dark for the cache, Meggs went off to chat to the locals who assured us that the track was safe to travel at night and that we would encounter some soft sand at the other end but just power through to the boat ramp.....Right then...off we go..! TFTC!

First time either Aussie Mary (or Mark who wasn't with us) have gotten bogged. Mary managed to take the Koleos into a very sandy, deep nasty sandy area. Lots of attempts to get out, then PAF by Mary organised a friendly farmer to pull us out. Glad I knew Martin's sister-in-law. TFTC and the memories Leanne.

CPwanderer suggested an outing with Clare007 and AussieM&M that sounded to good to refuse...and it was! Cool
Lucky for me, I was last on the pick up list so they arrived at 6am Twisted
From the first find at 8.37am until the last find at 17.10pm I ended up with 187 caches...ok, so some were in a power trail but I prefer to call it Geoart! Wink
I also managed to make my 7,000th find Surprised
Between laughing, patting a horse which I really wanted to take home, poking a lizard, losing my bank handicard when I tore my jeans pocket, putting ink from a broken pen onto AussieM&M's seat and getting bogged (well, for once it wasn't me driving!) this was an amazing day Smile

This was the end of our caching day....over 2 hours spent here while trying to get a vehicle unstuck....unfortunately it was our geovehicle Red Face
Luckily one of our group had some distant but local connections so eventually the call was made, the rescue vehicle turned up and the geovehicle was freed Smile
Time to head for home now while the geovehicle and it's owner were both still in one piece...well relatively! Wink
But we did find the cache Smile

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia after having attended Oz Mega. Big Grin

Today we had to move house (caravan) from Coobowie to Minlanton so only attempted some multi's near Coobowie before we headed off.

With very mixed results we hit the road Jack! On arrival at Minanton we dumped the vans and headed for Point Turton. Having seen some of the 50th birthday clan earlier in the week we were disappointed to have been too early for these caches but a return trip saw us knock these over today at high tide. Surprised

Bit nervous heading up here at high tide but all was well.
