Travelling from Tailem Bend to Port Vincent, the trip was punctuated by the "Ping" of the GPS'r an obvious signal to stop and stretch our legs. We discovered a variety of hides, learnt a little more about Yorke Peninsula history and close to our destination were made aware of the opposition to mining development. This one took a while, there were so many options to consider. A tricky but clever hide. Image added.

Our thanks to earthlight for placing this cache.

Left Yorketown, and travelled to Minlaton via Port Vincent, picking up caches with Konie.
We travelled some great country roads, and the scenery was stunning.
Even though it was quite hot, we managed to do a few trail and other caches in the area.

Many thanks for placing this cache, earthlight, for us and others to find.

03-Feb-16
Found myself in SA for other reasons this month, and McPhan agreed to join me for the trip back. The main purpose was the Yorke P geoart, but we finished these faster than planned, so had another day just cruising around the Yorke back roads, doing caches like this one.

Thanks earthlight for the series.

9881 and 33rd of 163 found today.

Thank you all hiders and maintainers of the caches found today. It's another big day in a week that we found 900+ caches so please, please excuse the generic logs. I hope you understand that with that many find in such a short time they all tend to meld into one another - especially in a middle aged bloke's mind anyway.

We had four nights on Yorke Peninsula during our 5th SA Odyssey and our #rd visit to Yorke Peninsula. Many good memories came from this trip as they have from previous visits.

Thanks for the cache earthlight and your efforts to provide us with fun!!!

Off to YP for the weekend with muggle partner and Brodie and what an interesting day it was!
At the tank on Pt Wakefield Rd we pulled up alongside a man and his son looking for the cache only to be met with 'locus' Surprised
It was nice to see Diggers09 again as it had been a while since that infamous kayak event at Pt Augusta Wink
On YP itself it was extremely gusty and windy, rainy and then sunshine and then it started all over again. Twisted
Coobowie pub for great Calamari Schnitzel with Garlic Prawns for tea then onto Warooka Hotel for the next 2 nights Cool
Due to the weather and the time, only 11 caches were found today Smile

I explained the relevance of the name to muggle partner as I found this cache.
Fond memories of trips over here with the CO Smile

21-Aug-15
Day three of the short holiday with Bettyboo3747. Cycled around Port Vincent.
Ran north in the morning, then south in the afternoon (well shanks ponies in the afternoon).
Lovely views all along the coast, with the Gulf on one side, and the green and gold fields on the other.
Struggled around in the long grass here today, but no cache did we find.
A great building opposite though. Looks like it has been modified a few times.
Thanks, Robmc.

21-Aug-15
Love the old and complete building on the diagonal corner. I always want to live in one of these gorgeous old relics. It certainly looks like it was once a church. An utterly frustrating search for the cache for us this afternoon. Failure and a DNF however.

30-Jun-15
Found by Mary & David at 1350. We love old buildings, especially in SA where they have such an iconic and timeless quality. This one was superbly built. Given its location at an intersection, and its appearance, we thought it may have been built originally as a church. Our thanks to earthlight.

28-Jun-15
Stayed overnight at Port Vincent after visiting the Ethel yesterday. Heading home this afternoon so only getting two caches. Thanks

27-Jun-15
A much quieter day after a few days of hectic caching of the geo art.
We did a few caches from where we were camped at Point Turton up to Curramulka & Port Vincent.
A great drive along country farming roads to stunning beachside location.
Thanks for placing this cache earthlight

At short notice we teamed up with SEMIK and Skippy to head to York Peninsula to pick up a few caches and more importantly attend the event on Saturday night. A hilight of the day was visiting the sink holes. What a great experience and something we are pleased to have been able to see. Brucie did manage to replace the cache after a couple of attempts and lots of local support Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to earthlight for placing this cache.

06-Jan-15
Almost stopped on Saturday to find this, but at the intersection I realised it was on the other side of the road, and didn't really want to cross over, so instead admired the old building I'd stopped next too (I thought by the name, GZ was going to be near the old building).
Came for a quick run before tea, and made a nice quick find, at a spot I'd been to 5 years ago. Thankfully no snakes spottedSmile

Another day on the Yorke with alansee and Team Crackers. A variety of caches were encountered and eventually conquered, making for an enjoyable and liesurely day out. I'm sure a few extra finds would have occurred but taking a long lunch put paid to that expectation.

Many thanks earthlight for placing this cache Cool.

16-Aug-14

Day three with Alansee and Micaparamedic we were finishing off a few caches around Port Vincent and then heading to Wallaroo for a few days caching there

Being in the area for so long and having your family name all over the place you ancestors must have been well respected in the area. We can imagine in those days their trade would have been well sought after though it would have been extremely hard work at the time. We have seen a lot of these glimpses to the past on our travels through SA, you can't help but wonder why they ended up like this., instead of still being a family home.
The cache took a little while to find with the lush undergrowth which looks great while driving around but is the cachers enemy t gz.

To save room in the logs we signed as M.A.C.( Micaparamedic Alansee and Team Crackers).
Thanks once more for the cache.

16-Aug-14
