Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Staying in Kingston for a few days to grab some finds. A chilly day but at least the sun is out. If theres an opportunity to increase the terrain rating, these two guys opt to take it. They walked in 280 mts from the main road, through scrub, over fallen trees and negotiating swamp - I guarantee they wouldnt have done it in summer Thanks for the hide fredd0. LNCU
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. We are staying in Kingston SE for a couple of days, checking out the sights and the caches, of course. Quite a scrabble to get to this one. TFTC Freddo. LNCU
Found this whilst on a weekend away for a camping trip with gridge98, we went to Kingston SE, Robe and Cape Jaffa. Thanks for the cache.
A lovely drive along the salt flats, many movies could be shot here, a great oldie lives on and is in great condition here. This weekend Courtneyrose_ and I headed away for a few days to Kingston S.E and surrounds for the local parkrun plus find a few caches and enjoy the weekend away, most of the logs books were signed with our names others signed as COCO. Thanks for the cache
TFTC. That was a bit of a hike along the shore Got so into it, I walked straight past GZ by 80mtrs Got a little concerned I wouldn't find the cache but so relieved to spot it Log signed
Unable to access the clay pipe due to an excess of water. access can be achieved by hiking to it. Will attempt when water level drops.
Have driven past this cache so many times and today decided to make the walk from the loop road to the cache. Terrain was definitely not a T1 . Nice quick find at GZ and amazing views. Lost my sunnies on the way back to the car never mind! TFTC Freddo
Came from the beach side after driving up from 42 mile crossing. Thankfully, the crossing this time was almost dry.
The cache was an easy find and after signing the log and taking a few photos of the vehicles, we drove back across to drive back along the beach. Thanks for placing the cache here.

Spent some time camping at 42 mile crossing. Attempted to go south this morning but got stuck and took a couple hours to get out! So after lunch we decided to give it a go and see what happened if we headed north. We made it further than we did this morning!! We wanted to check out Tea Tree Crossing and we found a couple of caches along the way. TFTC

The Welder, three minis and I are over from Melbourne on a road trip to tick off a bucket list item.:.. visit Robe and surrounds and go 4wd on the beach. 25 years I have waited for this moment and finally it’s become a possibility.... actually a reality. Whilst here, we are taking the opportunity to get some caches for our Ausmer challenge. We could see that this was in the national park but had no idea we would need to cross the beach to get it. Can’t tell you how excited I am right now!! What an experience. A favourite point from me for a great cache, and an oldie at that in an awesome location. Thanks for the cache.

I originally found this cache with my Mum heymissjo, but now that I have my own account, I am logging. Thanks for the cache.
For the past few years I have cached as part of "team heymissjo", but now I am old enough to have my own account so logging the find. Thanks for the cache.

A night arrival made judging the last 800m an exercise in risk management
Ended up being a simple drive by, but the T1 rating may be a little bit of a giggle.
Incredible location.HMJ has always wanted to drive on the beach, but a nocturnal maiden effort was a wonderful twist on achieving a bucket list item.
We all had fun getting here
The tide started coming in noticeably as we began to leave
Thank you

Found during a camping trip to the Coorong and the Southeast areas with brisal5 and I in one vehicle, and e.gregory and friend in the other. We travelled around the Narrung Peninsula and down the Coorong where we spent the first night camped out at Tea Tree Crossing. Enjoyed some challenging driving and eventful cache finds, wandering bush tracks and strenuous sand dune climbs in very scenic areas. The second night saw us camp out in Little Dip before meandering the country roads in search of an assortment of Traditional, Earth, Multi and Puzzle caches further down the coast before heading back home via Lucindale, Padthaway and Keith. Thanks for the cache Freddo, Tadpole & Toad of Toad Hall!
Found on a camping trip to the Coorong and Southeast areas with brisal5, FeatherWaite and a non-geocaching friend who was visiting from Tasmania.
My main aim of the visit was to show my friend around, however we also took the opportunity to find a few caches along the way. We had a great time visiting some of the beaches and other areas.
We were lucky with the weather - mostly warm and still. However, the last day was very hot, so didn’t worry about finding any caches on the way home.
I am planning to be down in the Southeast again in a few days to find a few more caches and attend the events at Millicent and Naracoorte.
Thanks Freddo for the cache.

ROAD TRIP! Time to head south and fill a few gaps near the Coorong that require a 4WD to access. [^] So I joined Featherwaite in the trusty Hilux and with E.gregory in his mighty Palace on wheels in support what could possibly go wrong. [?]
Day 1: Get there and find a nice spot to camp for the night:: It ended up being Tea Tree Crossing Campsite which we had all to ourselves. But of course there were a few caches to find along the way.
The crossing was completely dry today so we made a quick stop before heading over. The cache was visible from a few metres away but I had to leave my wheelchair at the lake and commando crawl my way to it. [:o)][:o)]
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks Freddo for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Out for a drive whilst staying at 42 mile beach. Quick stop here to pick this one up. Tftc
Went for a drive with Jack and Purrfect Di. Found some caches!
thanks for the smiley Freddo , yours was one of them!
A nice old hide from a family of amphibians. Sun was setting so we'll return another day for the ones on the other side! Quite the popular area today.
Happy 6th day of Christmas! Avoid germs - avoid people - cache the countryside!!!
All logs stamped by team Mattycat this week include JacktheMonkey and Purrfect Di.
Mr Tardis was on a moto ride down to the South East for the weekend. Having the right vehicle I was able to ride within 10 metres of GZ. Nice to see this old cache still going strong.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Freddo, Tadpole & Toad of Toad Hall.

Today was my final day around Mount Gambier and then on to driving back home to Adelaide. Following a couple of cave dives at the Pines, I still had half a day to head back, and so stopped off at quite a few geocaches that I had on my target list along the Coorong road. I managed to stop off to complete the other half of the Millicent SFE series, some more caches around Millicent, and then a few oldie geocaches at various stops within the Coorong and Policeman's Point.
Another oldie that I spied numerous times along my journey of the main road (highway?). Today seemed ok enough to scout for this one, and I had not much knowledge of the area of the main Coorong strip. However, I soon learned about the potential crossing here at Tea Tree Gully, but in late November, there was still a fair amount of water across the lagoon to even chance this crossing. Still, I will keep this in mind in late Summer when the waters should die down. Once I found the right way to this cache along the beach, I was within metres of GZ, and cache soon spotted as I made my approach. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. A great 05/2002 oldie to have collected, thanks Freddo, Tadpole & Toad of Toad Hall for the cache placement and maintenance.
P.s. the big puddle that I had to drive through at the start/end of the beach had me realise it must have been hypersaline water, for the water that covered my jeep had salt on it for the rest of the week once it dried. Nasty stuff.

Returning home from the South East late this afternoon...I contemplated whether or not I would attempt this cache find...after some deliberation & convincing I took the Loop Rd detour...
Today the weather was warm & dry, as was the crossing...
The first little challenge conquered...the small sand dune onto the crossing...
There was a large kangaroo bouncing across the plain...very cool...
I drove to the bend in the track and walked to GZ for a quick find...

Nice spot. On the way back I was mid sentence when I fell face first into the sand. I guess you could say I got a face full of sand.
Our highlight of the day. This cache was placed exactly three years before we created our geocaching accounts, and we always love finding the hides that predate our entry into the hobby.
We noticed as we left the loop track that Tea Tree Crossing was closed. We weren't sure if that meant the cache was off limits, so pushed on. Despite owning a Nissan Navara, we're always apprehensive about going through unknown 4x4 areas. We have zero recovery gear, no on-board compressor so deflating tyres is never an option, and no-one ever knows where we are going or when we should be returning home. We do carry UHF radios though!! Despite all that, getting to the cache, as the description says, is easy.
Emerging out onto the waters edge was truly breathtaking. The water was mirror flat, and seemed to go on for miles. To us it was obvious that there would be no crossing over to the dunes, but when is the crossing open? Is there ever a dry path?
We parked within the markers, and I set off to find the cache while Mrs J took some photos and shot a video on her phone. The cache was a nice quick find, and I added our stamp to the log book. Walking back to the car I was able to take in the beauty of the area, and distant roar of the ocean just beyond the dunes. I looked at the other caches on my GPSr, which seemed just out of reach for us today, and reminded myself that we should really start kitting our car out for this type of stuff. It was actually sad that we had to leave this place and go home.
Thanks Freddo.

My first camping trip this far south down the Coorong. A nice walk along the beach near Tea Tree Crossing. TFTC
Found It!
This was not a drive-by today. The tide was in. If I had a suitable vessel it could have been a sail-by. But instead I opted for the 300m walk from the loop road. The first 150m were easy. The last 150m was near impossible. Climbing over/though trees, crawling under bushes and lots of detours around large puddles. If you came in here without a GPS you would get very lost very quickly. Thankfully a relatively quick find once I got to GZ!

Heading back from the SE thought I'd grab the caches along the loop road as I didn't have my dog with me today...well the intention was there but the road was not...with so much rain recently the water was past the "fenced path" & was up under the trees...no way could I drive that way to GZ. I did consider parking on the loop road & walking cross country but decided that it probably wasn't a good idea & I had time restraints too...one for another day...
Camping with friends at Tea Tree Crossing we decided to go for a walk. GPS in hand walking across the salt pan we seemed to be heading straight towards a 4wd directly in the vicinity of GZ. Unfortunately, as we got closer we realised they werent fellow geocachers but bogans collecting firewood from the national park. This made us walk a little faster but they left just as we were approaching! We found GZ and the cache undisturbed but a little disappointed that campers can treat this area with such disrespect. Thanks for the cache Freddo
Our third day of camping at Meningie for the Australia Day Long Weekend. We decided to head down to Kingston today and clear out around there and do some 4WDriving along the This was Megg's first drive onto Salt pans, and even though ther is a 'fenced' track, she had a ball!! We arrived at GZ and made a quick find. Took TB, TFTC
At 15.20h, I thought of the cache owner as I dropped off TB 'G race 12'. TNLNSL TFTC - Unka Dave
Looking at the map to get to this cache had us wondering if we needed some type of flotation device, but not today. With a smooth drive along the Coorong. Co-ords are spot on ensuring a quick find. T 1 x Path-tag L N TFTC
It felt like driving on a frozen lake (not that I've done that) to get to GZ. And it was the smoothest part of the journey since leaving the main road. Found the geocache in good condition. Now to drive across the Coorong! TFTC Freddo.
quite an old cache, but still in good shape even though the crossing was closed, i could see someone driving across. TFTC!
Free camping in Kingston, today we set off to see how many caches we could find in the Coorong that we missed a few weeks ago.
Beautiful weather not to hot not too cold, although apparently a storm forecast to arrive tomorrow. [xx(]
Great day to be out in the Geo Cruiser, so many great spots that were within our reach.
The crossing was closed here today but we were easily able to get near GZ.

GeoDad got this one! Kids loved it and the drive in was very smooth. Worth the short trek! l lizard T stamp. TFTC
On our way to Millicent for a space event i see there is a FTF up for grabs across the water, a phone call confirms the crossing is closed but i thought.....what if i can walk across ?....silly idea, should have bought the blow up boat, i to made it a 4 terrain by going from the road, maybe i should have read a few logs DOH lol TFTC cache is in good shape and no maintenance needed : ) grabbed TB
The crossing was well and truly closed due to water. However there is now an inducement to visit this cache. TFTC
Found on our way home from a fantastic caching trip to Mount Gambier.
Mr M decided to turn this into a 4 terrain by walking from the road. Now that is difficult. It wasn't until he finally returned to the car and drove on a few hundred meters that he worked out what he was meant to do. Never mind, the journey to getting this one is memorable.

I was on my way to the Big Little Event and just happened to have to wait for twenty minutes for one group and then two hours for the really late latecomer to get to Tailem Bend Considering that I had the greatest distance to travel, that was interesting
So, I stopped and did one cache all on my own. Then when Honeysucker and firesafe arrived, we headed out and got a few more together.
When Huurtle finally arrived, we headed off in convoy to some very interesting caches and by the end of the day, I had locus cache'd on 24 and only had 1 DNF. [^]
This was such an awesome day as it included my getting the Corolla bogged in sand, firesafe getting bogged in mud (however he got himself out where as I had required his help to get out of my spot of bother), my first visit to the sea side of the Coorong, some great fun driving on dirt roads (anyone want to clean the inside of my car?) and some great company from Suzi Quatro on the CD.... all in all a fantastic way to get to an event!! [^] [^]
We parted company at Kingston SE and I cruised on my own to the Big Little Event at Nelson, getting only a few more caches on the way as by then, I was kind of tired [|)]
Thanks to the genrosity of some geocachers who have geomobiles more suited to this environment than mine, I managed to get in here today and find some caches Not a bad effort for my very first trip to the seaward side although my day was fraught with memories of a once promised salmon fishing trip that never eventuated and which the Kingston fishing competition brought back to mind!
Seems Freddo caches may have been high on my hit list today, too, but it sure wasn't planned! This was number 1 out of 5 for the day!

Found on our trip to the Little Big Event with Firesafe Hurtle and locus nice quick find as we hurriedly left the area
I was happy to be off the main highway and cruising along the very scenic Loop Road this morning
A smattering of caches were lying along the route and I had happy thoughts of camping this evening near Kingston SE or even Robe
Tea Tree Gully has st*##ed my plans right royally [:o]
I happily cruised past the gate that said 4WD only, expecting a neat national parks car park and walking trail to appear abeam GZ
Other cachers have expected the same
On the roadside, abeam GZ I got the cache notes out.... oooh!! I had better not walk the couple of hundred meters through the scrub !!
So I followed the road back to the gate and headed along the 4WD trail until it got too tough and I would walk the rest of the way [^]
The drive didn't get 'tough'.
Now I see why Toad is so interested in speed records [:o]
Those ¼ mile markers really start to blur don't they
Remembering to stop near GZ I had a short stroll to find the cache.
And yes!! The car was real easy to find again [^]
Now about those plans to drive to Kingston this arvo....
Having found meself out here there was no way I was just going to drive back to the blacktop.
Another Freddo cache on 'the other side' put paid to those plans

We were camped nearby so decided to drive out to Tea Tree Crossing and have a look around as the last few times we've been in this area the crossing has been closed. We drove over the crossing and had a look around the campground (wouldn't get the caravan in here but off-road campers or tenters would find it good). Drove back to the cache side and after a short walk it was safely in hand. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot.

The crossing was open so we drove almost to the cache but were not brave enough to venture across to the other side. A very curious landscape and experience, so worth a visit. TFTC.
OK, this was a lesson in how geocaching can go wrong. Luckily, not TOO wrong.
I saw this was only 250m from the road, so we parked and started walking in.
It was an easy walk to start, then there was a row of Stringybarks blocking the way. A bit of walking this way then that found a ducking, scratchy way through.
As soon as we got through that barrier, we found some swampy ground that was rather wet after recent rain.
This was repeated before I read the previous log about driving along the beach.
We reached an obstacle that looked impassable, so the decision was made to call the whole thing off.
Beaut vegetation, but.
Thanks for putting this out, Freddo, even though we couldn't get to it. )

After a drive along the beach from 42 Mile Crossing past Tea Tree and then back again to Tea Tree, stopped here to grab this cache. Easy find as cache a bit exposed, although only visible if you are looking for it!
Found on way home from SC and 43MC enjoyed the look of the lake with a little water on the surface. TFTC
the camp site was closed for cars so we had a little bit of a walk to the cache site along the beach. the crossing was well underwater. We left a post card from our WA adventure with a an email so if you take the post card you please put in another cache and send us a quick email of there you put it. We just wanna see how far it goes.
thanks

4x4 track from main road was closed and so enjoyed a pleasant walk along narrow stretch of beach to GZ. Water mark was very high. Found cache with much joy. TFTCSLTNLN.
Although I was in the 4X4 there was very little beach and a lot of water lying around so being on my own decided not to chance getting bogged and spending the day getting out so left the car at the entrance to the beach and had a pleasant walk to GZ. TFTC
Wow!!! We started walking thru the scrub, but too thick so back to car. Almost left, but rethought tracks we’d seen on maps and drove on further, then along track that lead to ...WOW!!! we were driving along the Coorong! Even the sat.nav said we were driving on water! Again, so sad really... this area should be full of water. Took a TB and left a cricketer. TFTC
Found with The Rhyan Clan and Team Scallywag on our trip to the Barossa then back to Mount Gambier to visit our sick Nanna. TFTC tnln sl See also the Rhyan Clan's logs. cheers
Wwwahoo we found it. With team scallywag and the wild gang. Love the spot tftc.
What a wonderful playgound. This morning we tried to climb the big sandune near the campground in our 4x4 campervan but did not lower the tyre pressures. Mistake!, within metres of the top we bogged and had to reverse back down. Thanks for the cache and the lesson in driving on sand.
This was a very special cache find for us for a number of reasons.
Our 100th Cache! Woo Hoo. (That's one big grin for each member of our family!)
We had been holding out to make this our 100th as it had a Land Cruiser (the preferred mode of transport for our clan) Travel Bug AND it was located near one of our family's favourite beach camping places.
We brought some friends here on this trip and introduced them to the wonderful Coorong area and beach camping.
We introduced our friends to the world of caching with this one too.
We all had a really wonderful time and lots of fun on this trip and picked up a few caches too.
Made some swaps.

Going over to do other cache. Will not drive to it. Will walk. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
We were staying nearby for a family renuion and thought we would pick up a few caches while we were in the area. We enjoyed our drive out to find this cache, although we had a bit of trouble finding the best access - evenutally we worked it out.
Left travel bug.
Left travel bug.
Went out in the dark for this one but it was an easy find by flashlight. TFTF
Rhiannon sat in the car while tony and The (biggest of all) Bogan went off looking.. after 20min or so the boys came back with smiles.. and some scratches! TFTC
[8)] Bush bashed through from the road as we weren't sure if the Commodore would get through, so ended up with a bit of bark missing.

Easy find by eager junior geokid. Took out Sharpie pen, left another macca's song toy. Signed log
Amazing - the condition of the log since my entry on 8 November 2002 (pictured) is fantastic. Well done to the frog. A must visit. The drive on the sand hiway is a thill a minute. [^]... clear skies. "John". [red] My 11th find [/red]
And what's a caching/scout trip without doing a Freddo Cache? Boring, that's what!!!
We made this our 2500th gc.com cache. One of the oldies bagged forever now. We went back and forth over this crossing a few times this weekend, and the last time, when heading home, it was at it's highest!
Thanks for the cache Freddo.

Thanks
PS: We don't recall seeing a TB in there, but there may have been!
PSS: The cache was actually in front of the treeline sitting half buried with sand blowing over it. Placed it back behind the nearest tree, out of sight!

Number 18 on The Coorong Cache 'N' Camp. Loved it, if you ever come back this way, make sure we are not still bogged in the crossing. TFTC
Definitely the first 1/1 I've ever seen that requires a 4WD! After a few dry caches, this surface was pretty quick. Relatively, anyway. Spotted immediately. Good 'disguise'. Thanks Freddo.
Love the drive to the beach from here. Easy driving today with little traffic even though it is Easter.

Found with Kiwi Explorer on our caching road trip. The GPS told us it was a short way 'over there'. Thankfully kangaroos make a bit of a trail and we made it through eventually.
The cache was easy to find and we could see the road where access is normally gained. Unfortunately the hire car was only a 2WD. Great spot, thanks again Freddo & co.

Found while on a caching road trip with Konie. We stopped on the main road opposite the cache only 200+ metres to go, "no problem" we thought, wrong! Eventually got there and the cache was shining like a beacon as we approached. Definitely D1 but not T1 the way we approached, our wheelchairs would have struggled. Great fun. TFTC.
A quick visit to the cache while we pumped up the tyres. All three tadpoles then had a turn driving on the pipe clay.
From the correct side of the road this cache is still very much a one star terrain - one star difficulty.

Got as close as we could on the Loop Rd, but GPS said 200mtrs to go through the bush. Couldn't take the Rug Rats through there, so Mrs Indaweeds set off to see how hard it was. Came back 10 minutes later saying "No way...too many prickles!"

I probably went a different way than most finders. I trekked 276m direct to the cache from the Loop Road. When I got to the cache I wished I had my 4x4. I would have loved to have driven to all those caches out in the Coorong. Though not via the Tea Tree Gully Track which is currently closed due flooding. This cache was quite interesting in that in 8 days of travelling from Melbourne it was only whilst on the Loop Rd travelling towards this cache that we saw our first Kangaroo (unfortunately a road kill), our first stumpy tailed lizard (we stopped and let him pass across the road in front of us) and our first emu. Thanks for the cache - the most enjoyable today.
