Logs
Abandoned the quest, for this one which now seems to be guarded by a significant fence which we were not willing to cross.
We headed to Canberra for a few days, then Goulburn and Yass on the way home.
Nice weather today, so out grabbing some caches.
Unless otherwise stated - all good here. Signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Sparra0907, for us and others to find.

uscoe was heading north today in the terrific company of Phetlern, Papi, Geoturtle and The Drovers.
It was a delightful day, plenty of sunshine and lots of fun.
We were logging our finds today at the "B Team"

I'm glad there is something recognising the history of old schools like this one even if it is a plaque seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The cache container was a bit the worse for wear. Thanks for the cache Sparra0907.
Replaced the cache today with a brand new one on our way down to the big smoke. All set to go again. Just sign the new log.
The long weekend is upon us and after organising to pick something up from Strathmerton Saturday morning, I checked the map before hand and here is a place that I have not visited before which was Moulamein.
I guy I work with stayed here in January and recommend that it was worth a visit.
So after detouring via Conargo to see if the pub has finished being rebuilt (not open yet) I arrived at my destination.
After touring around Moulameinand spending a great night in my cabin at the pub that overlooked the Edwards River it was on to my next destination Lake Boga then Kerang as it was the only accomodation that I could find.
I was taking the less travelled roads which usually meant dirt roads but that was fine by me and then the bitumen.
After spending the night in the pub it was time to head towards home, went for a walk around the the Loddon River and Levee bank then now to head south again.
The country side must have been littered with schools back in the day as I come across a lot of plaques in my travels.
This one is tucked nicely oof the road with a nice walk to it.
Lid to cache is cracked and the old school photos have been spoilt.
Thanks Sparra0907 TFTC.

Gee thanks for making me stop here, nice story and nice memorial. Cache lid slightly cracked allowing moisture in but at least it's still there! Nice spot for a break
Loved walking to this one. Quick find with the geofamily as we made our way home from a holiday. Many thanks for the cache
Last find for my big caching weekend. Thanks for all the caches. Realised now I missed quite a few that for some reason didn’t make my lists. I will be back!
OK. Well a whole brand new cache container has been placed at GZ, so the whole thing is new, new container, new log-book, heaps of all new swaps and this new container has been placed on a slightly higher place, so should be above the water when it rains again next time. Bye. and Cheers. The CO.Good Luck and hope you enjoy this old school site and dried out school photos.
Decided to take a day out caching after a long stint of no caching, not only because of the Covid restrictions, but my mother had a bad fall and our elderly dog required constant supervision.
Cache was uncovered, lid cracked and contents wet. Unfortunately photos have been damaged as they were not in their zip lock bag.
TFTC Sparra0907 for highlighting this former school site.

OK. Well the hot sun should dry the log-book out now, but we will replace the log-book on our way to Melbourne in a few weeks time. Thanks and Cheers.

Staying at Swan Hill for a few days. This cache was found on our wanderings.
This one was saturated, full of water in fact.
I poured it all out, signed the sopping log, and returned it.

Sopping wet. It might dry out in this heat wave now that the water has been removed, but the lid is broken and it needs help badly.
Found cache but log completely wet. Photo of proof that log found & unable to be signed sent to CO. TFTC

A nice quick find on a lovely day for caching. The container has seen better days.
As we headed from Swan Hill to Bendigo today, we stopped along the way to look for some caches. This was one of them.
Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Sparra0907 for the cache and others you have placed in the area.

Found with Loci612 and Zqx on the way home from the mega in Victoria. Thanks for the cache and the adventure. Signed the cache either DSD or Darksidedan depending on the size of the cache.
**This Cache:**
Really enjoyed this cache, the first for the day! Thought the addition of the photos inside was a very unique touch, and enjoyed looking through them. Also a strange place on the side of the highway we never would have known existed unless for this cache!
Many thanks for bringing us here
**Today:**
Day 4 of the St. Arnaud mega with DSD and ZQX!
It was time to head all the way home today, via a completely different route, in parts of Australia that none of us have ever visited before! All in the name of grabbing some counties! We went through Northern Victoria up to Echuca, and then over the NSW border to Moama, through Deniliquin, Finley, Jerilderie, Narranderra and finally Coolamon and Wagga Wagga before heading home to Canberra! A very productive day collecting counties, with a few high D/T caches mixed in, and even a bonus virtual!
It was a long day with many km's and about 15 hours total on the road, it was good to get home and crash for the night!
Thanks to all the CO's for making it possible

From here we stopped for caches along the road where it was suitable to stop with the caravan on.
After setting up camp at the showgrounds we did a tour of the country side hunting down caches.
Thankyou for placing this cache Sparra0907

Wouldn’t have spotted this landmark without your cache having been placed here.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks for high lighting another former school with a cache. 1 of 34 cache finds on a warm spring day. Thanks sparra
Only because of caching we would not have known about this old school site. The cache was an easy find. Good to see that there is a memorial there to recognise the history. You have been busy Sparr0907, thank you.
Second of the trio of finds along here for me today. Talk about a lonely commemorative marker. I wonder how many people (other than geocachers of course ) actually know it's here. Another quick find at 15:05 and it was onto the next one.
I like the added touch of the photos in the cache so it's fave point time.
TNLNSL. Thanks Sparra0907.

In the area on my way home after visiting Kerang for training with the local Vicses crew.
Found in the most obvious location.
Cheers for the cache.

While lived in Bendigo for many years, we were very familiar with the road to Swan Hill. It was the number of stops to stretch our legs and look for a cache that was surprising today.
It is great to check out the old school sites and we enjoyed looking through the photos, which earn a FP for this one.
Thanks 'Sparra0907' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Cache nr 7 today, trying to tick off as many shires as possible. If the plaque was not here one would not know that there was a school here in the past. Thanks for the info and the cache.
We parked nearby and walked in to find this one. Thanks for bringing us to this historical place. Tftc
We parked nearby and walked back to Gz. The flies almost carrying us there faster than we could walk, they must've known where the cache was and wanted us to find it! What a very interesting place. It's another site that I would not have known about if it wasn't for caching. Tnln tftc
Parked close by and walked back to Gz. A nice easy find and a quick flick through the photos (because of all the flies) Thanks for showing me this historic place. Cigc. Tftc
We were having to deliver some equipment to one of our staff in Swan Hill, we thought that we would leave a little bit early and do some caching along the way.
I wish we had a dollar for every school marker that we have visited since starting geocaching. You can't help but wonder about what bought about the demise of so many. The plaque for this one was a fair distance from the road and we wouldn't have noticed it if it wasn't for geocaching and we also really enjoyed the surprise inside the container. It's the first time we have seen this done, it certainly makes a difference when you look around trying to imagine what the area looked like in one of it's two heyday's.
We added our name to the log and returned everything as it was.
Thanks for the cache.

Missed this back in May while up this way, so to make amends, Cache is in good condition, all dry, and now has my stampsign in book, also dropped two TBs for next cacher to move along
Miss 11 had this one super quick and was awesome to see the old photos!!! Well done. SL. TNLN. TFTC!
Found by Mary & David at 1255. We're always interested in old school sites and their history. Mary's Dad was a Primary School teacher, so she moved all around Victoria. Our thanks to Sparra0907.
Looking at heading up this way only to be told "we've found those, they are probably more that you haven't logged". As it turns out, that is exactly what has happened. I was caching with Papi4506 who has thankfully mentioned me in his log so I know I was present at this find and on this day. Thank you for the cache and huge apologies for not doing it earlier.
What a strange place for a monument. Great place for a cache. Loved the photos showing the history, especially the one of the old school. Quick and easy cache. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Off on a weekend road trip to Swan Hill, going the long way on my 1400km adventure to pick up a few new LGA's along the way as well as a few caches of interest.
The time has come to head for home but there were still caches to find along the way.
This one a little off the road but I was still able to park very close, once I was out of the car the cache was found easily.
**Thanks to Sparra0907 for placing this cache.**

On my way to the '6 Months to the event in Alexandra - Swan Hill' event! After bypassing Bendigo, I detoured through Terrick Terrick, then onto Pyramid Hill for the earthcache. Snap Happy chased an old Steam Train and I chased Snap Happy. We ended up miiiles away from caches and had to head back to the main road... Thanks for the cache, Sparra0907.

Found on the way to the Swan Hill for the Lunch event tomorrow. Thanks for the hide, and the interesting information.
Almost drove on by this one but I stopped and so glad I did. I used to farm north of here so was a regular user if this road and I had never heard of Hawkinston before. When I finally opened the cache there was great delight as the memories of schooldays became fresh again with those photos. A fave point for sure. Thanks Sparra0907
Trudged through the long grass to get to GZ. Loved the photos. Blown away with a glimpse into the past. TFTC Sparra0907.

A quick easy find... Drove right up to the stone. Photos were separate from the container and at risk of getting ruined if it rained so have put them into the plastic box/cache. Thanks for bringing me here.... Broke up a rather boring trip home from Bendigo.

Another quick find, another school gone. Thanks for showing us the memorial however, and for the cache. Nice container!
"I'm going to catch up with the girls on Tuesday, do you have any plan?"
Really, did my wife really just ask me that? Do I have any plans?
Hell yeah, I'm outta there with a GPS on one hand and a bottle of water in the other.....then back again really quickly to get the car keys.....need another hand.
Not a big day numbers wise, just 28 caches (going for those a little off track), but 667km in total driving meant the day was long.
What a great idea. It was great to spend a bit of time at this location looking through the photographs. Another of the old school sites. Awesome.

An Event in Kerang. A heap of new caches. Good caching friends both old and new. A recipe for a great day.
Tagging along with Mrs The Morris made for a few quick finds as we made our way north to the event. We were a little concerned about the long grass and warm weather but spotted a track and were able to drive right to GZ. No snake problems for us
Thank you for the cache Sparra0907.

After having a great day in Kerang for the event we were soon back in our own vehicles but in convoy on the way home.
Being a warm day we were walking off to GZ with our eyes wide open hoping to only find the cache and not any snakes. we were both amazed to find such a great sized container. much better than the normal eclipse tin that I find at most old school sites.
