Quick stop to stretch the legs on the Hume meant an opportunity to grab this cache. Ive driven past this petrol station for years and never thought to check if there was a cache here until today. Quick find TFTC.
Already found this cache a fair while ago, but thought I'd dip a few trackables while I'm briefly stopped here to get some coffee for the road trip to Beechworth. Writing a note so I can log multiple TBs.
Found by Aussie Train Driver 10/08/2024, find number 1794.This was a quick find heading North on the Hume after stopping for fuel. I had the area to myself and made a quick find - I have seen a few of these caches before, and the name was particularly helpful!TFTC!
Finally found this one after transversing up the Hume multiple times a year! Id had surgery in Melbourne last week so under Drs instructions need to walk every hour to help prevent DVTs on my way home so what a good excuse to grab this cache as a pit stop!3 trucks and a camper nearby but they were all resting meant a clean swoop for the youngest Ez member who was extremely impressed with the strength of the magnet for its size. Thanks for the cache RobMc.
Found at 3pm in warm sunshine. A pleasant break from the semi's, B doubles and cars rushing away to celebrate the Kings birthday! SL TFTC. Robmc the bag that holds the log is badly worn and the log slips out the bottom should you be passing by.
Found it! These ones are easy but always fun! The logbook is nice and dry, found while the sun was still our source of light!
Ive been here many times in the past whilst heading north to see family or heading away on holidays. This was my first time here though after discovering geocaching. I spied a now familiar hide straight away and now it has my name in the log. Thank you Robmc for placing and maintaining Travelling North - Lit from Above for us to find today.
A quick pit stop today by the Mr of the Ashleys got the cache in hand then on his merry (or smiley?) way to Avenel. TFTC
One our way to north, TEMBO! and I visited the cache "Travelling North - Lit from Above". The name of the cache was a magnet for us and managed a stop. Thanks to Robmc for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
On our drive up to Canberra, we stopped in here to grab some petrol, although I couldn't resist stopping by this cache right beside it.I had an idea for what I was after, but somehow completely missed it when heading towards the coordinates. In the time it took to fruitlessly wander around several trees, the owner of the truck parked directly across the road from gz came back and drove off (thankfully asking no questions). It was only once this happened that I actually saw the landmark that had been right in front of my eyes the whole time and quickly made the find after that. Thanks to Robmc for placing this one here!
On the way to work. While very here, I thought an excellent time to pick this one up. TFTC
On a campervan trip across Australia from New Zealand. An easy find here and a little rest for the car.. Had to distract the muggles eating dinner while quietly finding the cache.. TFTC
A quick stop on our way to Cobram. Had to wait for the muggle family to move their van off the location then it was a quick grab and sign. Tftc
Quick cache stop on our way home from Melbourne. Nice easy one with plenty of shade away from most muggles.
I was off for a family getaway; this was the first cache I collected. My immediate family are not into it, so I get what I can, lol. The cache was found after a few minutes as we had to wait for a truckie doing his prayers and a family stopping to let loose their doggos. After a while, the cache was retrieved, signed and returned. Cheers!
A whole four day trip with Aquilus1 to do the GeoTour in Ballarat some caching around Geelong and anything else that looked good on the way.
Weather was ok albeit a bit on the wet side for the first two days. Now on day 3 the weather is bice and sunny and we are pressing on with the last few Geotour caches on the way out and driving towards Queenscliff.
On our way back tom Canberra now.
This cache was one of the ones we had the oportunity to do.
A nice cache here!
Thank you Robmc for the nice cache and experience you gave us!

Stopping in as we were passing, the cache was quickly found then over for coffee and breakfast. Sometimes these roadside cafes are a hit, sometimes there a miss... today we have a well formed opinion of which that was. I can say though, the staff are lovely.
This cache was one found on a trip away with Flintstone's for 4 days. We had the Geotour in Ballarat as our target, and made our way as far as Queenscliff.
Ballarat caching was a joy, and with the tour, we saw many lovely and interesting locations as well as stopping for many other caches as we passed. Lots of little walks helped with the colder first few days as well as being quite scenic.
A change of weather and scenery towards Queenscliff but the coast was a great place to visit with plenty to do and see. As always, more to do than there was time for, will just have to return one day! Thank you for your cache!

Thanks for the cache Robmc

I was scratching around for a plan last night to help in my quest for a twenty eight day streak this month. I was checking out my statistics and noticed that i wasnt all that far off the 360 degrees challenge so decided to put together a list of caches to complete it. I am tackling that list today with what may end up being a bit of an epic tour. This morning i got up way before i usually do, packed drinks and snacks, geopooch and tott, and got underway. Wish me luck!
A quick stop, a quick find and a quick snap to go with it. The truckie was a bit concerned about me taking photos but after a chat they was all ok. Phew!

Grandkids in tow and they are so magnetized by the experience of Geocaching. 2nd find for the day. . . SL. . TFTC .
While traveling from Geelong to Brisbane via the Hume I stopped and grabbed caches where I could.
This being one and a good excuse to break up the drive.

Very happy to be heading to another Mega so Fleabag- had organised some stops along the way to help with some challenges we were chasing and this was one of those caches.
It was nice to have a few stops and take a break from the monotony of the highway.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Off to the Mega with Spiffy- and many others. All caches have been presolved in the 14 month lead up and other interesting caches flagged for collection to assist with various challenges or just because they looked fun!
This cache was another quick grab on our travels
Thanks to Robmc for the fun and the adventure.

Due to my constant stopping for geocaches, it’s gotten dark and additionally started to rain. This was a nice quick find while I stopped to grab an energy drink and a snack for the road. Log signed and replaced as found.
Happy to report that the cache is in good condition and the log nice and dry.

*The Rutherglen Mega Adventure #1*
We're on our way. The inclination is to skip all the caches between home and Rutherglen, but we have to stop at one or two because we haven't found a cache within those LGAs. This was our token Mitchell cache.
Thanks heaps, Robmc... you're likely to be hearing from us a bit this weekend.

Travelling north or actually, maybe north-east, towards the town of Rutherglen and the Rutherglen Mega. A quick find here, thanks for the cache .
Found cache and log signed with dalerious .
We had just completed a huge day at Mt Disappointment signing Challenge caches.
There was one in particular I wanted to qualify for, but I needed 6 Caravan attributes. I quickly went to work making up a list for a quick drive by onslaught of trads that fitted the bill .
Thank you Robmc for this cache, which was found in good condition.

I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache Robmc

28 December 2022 3:44 pm. Sneaky cache, quick stop on the wat to Brisbane. TfTC..
Found while heading North on the highway for my first bushwalk since the end of 2019. Had a great trip and this was first Cache to find during that.
A trip to check out some of the awesome places in Victoria and grab some old caches. TFTC.
I haven't seen a rusted one of these. Nice.

Heading into the Shepparton area to visit the latest member of our family. I thought I'd try to get a few caches in a new LGA and more in the Shepparton LGA. That new LGA being the "Campaspe Shire Council". Collected a few others on route too. Not as many as we wanted, but didn't have a lot of time.
This emwas our first stop of the day. Son2 almost found it without a GPSr, the coordinates or any hint other than "It's that way" while I went in the shop. Not a bad try for him.
Thanks for the cache Rob Mc

Traveling back from Melbourne after seeing the Harry potter production and attending a course for work. A great chance to stretch my legs to get a cache. Quick find. Cache in good order but magnet not attached to cache but still functional.
Another cache travelling north that requires maintenance. Log is very damp but was able to sign it. TFTC
After a few camping trips with his muggle brother Mr Dromaniax suggested that they have another camp trip and invite their muggle father along for the ride. After leaving Ballarat around 10.30, we headed towards Smoko Campground in the High Country.
We had chosen to take the road less travelled and avoid major highways whenever possible. This was so we could view scenery we hadn't seen before.
Most people would want a bright sunny day; we were very happy with the moody sky and the misty atmosphere.
We needed to take a bit of a diversion along the Hume Highway, or we would never have arrived at the campsite.
This was a quick find. The cache had lost its holding facility, and the logbook was damp. Thank you for this cache Robmc

#2 for our Mega trip. I spotted in on approach but stood back and let Miss 5 see if she can find it. I am really pleased to say that this didn’t fool her for a second - seasoned little catcher! Lol
Thanks for the fun!

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. ?? TFTC Robmc

While travelling north to Wangaratta for a week of bush hiking with my club. Pulled over for some refreshments and to check this one out. Original logbook wet but someone has added another one which is good. Nice hide thanks for the cache Robmc
Travelling to Wangaratta for a mini getaway, we stopped to stretch our legs and hopefully find a cache. We did find the cache on the ground and the logbook is wet, but no problem with the signing. We then placed it back in the logical location.
Thanks Robmc for making a pit stop worthwhile.

Wish we had gloves to clean up the rubbish! Really was covered in litter, so sad! But great hide none the less
