Out here with a friend--we stopped to look for this one but after a decent search and seeing the previous DNFs we conceded DNF here too. A great spot though, thank you for bringing me up here.
A rather disappointing area to be caching. Our third dnf , so two out of five finds all up today
Beautiful day to find this cache with my kids L and N. Been up here so many times, but first time as a ‘Cacher!
Out for an afternoon stroll and of course trying to find some caches. This was the first one we found, an easy one and thanks CO for refreshing the log. Uplifted the TB to travel further.
I sighted the hinted item but was still 15 metres away and wondered what was going on. Then a read of a recent log and realized I needed to go to another level, so got my ups on and headed to the real GZ. Soon had the cache in hand and tipped out the resident wetness. All good and replaced as found. T F T C G-2
Last walk(s) of the day and this nice looking walkway looked to be just the thing after our earlier Mission Bay outing. The look of a loop was appealing and all the options were snapped up in near-perfect weather conditions.
After a cache-less day over in the CBD yesterday in recognition of Olivia's 19th birthday, on the 19th no less I was keen to get out today for a leg-stretch and a few caches. Still not bothered about where we actually go, as we have so much choice, so much untapped potential in the area to choose from (for now, it changes after a while of living somewhere).

Hi there, I just found this one but it's waterlogged and probably needs some more paper.
A beautiful view from up here. We had to pretend to sit and admire the view as some muggles went past (this wasn’t difficult). Glad others suggested extending the search slightly further back. Thank you for bringing us to this beautiful spot.
Decided to see if there was any treasures around and was lucky to find this one. Unfortunately didn’t have a pen.
We found this cache during our holidays, when traveling around Auckland!
Thanks for showing!
Best regards bhudi from Germany

Great cache and location. Beautiful walk. There is more than one seat - so pay attention
A lovely day to head out for a walk, it was slightly windy, a little cloudy and not too hot. At first, due to my GPS deciding we were in Buckland's Beach and working from guessing we searched the wrong area. Then we realised we just needed to head a few meters up.
Once at GZ, and searching in the right place, we quickly had the cache in hand. It was a little damp but we dried it out, once dry we noticed there was no space in the log at all, so we ended up adding a Starbucks receipt and signing that. It will not survive getting wet but it will give people something to sign. Thanks for the cache #892

Had to wait out some people talking on the seat, so headed to another cache & came back for the grab. Thanks
Nice easy find here today with TheMexikiwi and a nice little spot to sit for a bit before heading back to the car to head off to the next lot of caches.
No dramas here and away to go - TFTC

Another nifty little find. I must remember to expand my search area a little further as they never quite seem to be where my phone says
My first geo-outing for 2019.
What do you do to blow away a few alcohol-related cobwebs after a terrific New Year's Eve? Go for a walk around the Tahuna Torea reserve and Glendowie Spit with your Muggle partner!
The weather was dry but moody today, which made for nicer walking conditions but not so great for photography.
We had already walked right out to the end of the spit itself, and had then walked along the beach to Roberta Reserve before turning around and were now on our way back the scenic route to the car, looking forward to a well-earned coffee once we got home with just this last cache to grab on our way.
Well this one ended up taking the most time to find. We were initially hindered by a nice old couple who were already at GZ when we got there. Once they had moved on I had a thorough search of the seat before having to widen my search a bit in order to find the cache. Once found though, I was confused by the completely full log found inside. Hadn't the CO just done a maintenance run not 2 days ago? So, unable to sign the log, I have taken a photo of it instead as proof of the find.
Thank you for placing this cache, and hope 2019 is a great year for you.

A late afternoon stroll enjoying the lovely weather.Definately a great part of the reserve to visit.Fantastic views and cache was exactly were the hint suggests. All good here.
Lovely evening to be out wandering around, and no muggles to contend with at this time of the night. After checking a couple of places, I thought a little bit more laterally, and yup of course thats where it is. Nice simple hide, even in the dark, managed to sign along the edge of the full log before replacing. Will need to come back and collect the rest around here, but for now I'm going to double back to where I've parked, and head back into the city. TFTC
Revisiting Tahuna Torea to find a cache that eluded us 2 years prior as well as collecting a few more along the way. On our last visit we were searching around a hint item on the incorrect level. Today, no issues. Correct spot and a quick find. We are really enjoying our walk around this reserve. Lovely spot with the tide in. TFTC
Log book full. Sorry Glynn, we did not have any of the waterproof paper you gave us last year left. Safe to say most of it was used replacing logs in other G-2 caches
I can see why they erected a lookout here. It's quite nice on a sunny day like today. Good spot for a hide.
In the area to watch a college cricket match, wandered over here in the lunch break. Nice reserve, great views over the water. Useful hint, soon found. No muggles to worry about. Back to the cricket. TFTC
And yet ANOTHER one found by Ambam145... Four from 4. This is getting a little embarrassing. Nice location though.
Beautiful view. Others were enjoying it so we had to be quick and stealthy. I missed it because of haste but hayleyfcy got it. Thanks for bringing us here!
Had my eye on this as something stood out at GZ. Muggles sitting here though so we had to be stealthy. Signed as H+M. Tftc
Wrong seat to start with then finally got to lookout and soon had cache in hand. Dropped of a Smurf TB.
CO says ... ""Another great place to visit on this reserve!"" ... it is right! Lovely reserve. TB out.
What an amazing view. This was my first time in the reseive and i loved every second. Great place to revisit. Tfth
Time for just one more. Enjoyed the walk along here. Pleased the geoinstinct was intact today. TFTFC
It was cold and blustery on the walk here and a heavy shower had just passed over. A nice quick find thankfully, then it was off to find the rest on the spit before the forecasted rain hit again
Nice view from here and an easy find here right where the hint indicated. Had a nice walk about this park area today, and quiet spot here. Thanks for the cache.
Cannot believe how many times we've rested here over the years, completely unaware that a cache was so close nearby.
Neither found nor DNA today. Got to GZ (after a hint from a previous log) and discovered a homeless man dozing in the sun. Mr 7 & Miss 5 still wanted to look but as he had his belongings strewn about the place I said we would come back another time.....
Wow this one had us absolutely going all about lol. We got there in the end. Beautiful day to enjoy the view. Tftc
Out for a walk around the coastline today picking up a few caches along the way.
This took us a lot longer than it should have as we spent a good 15mins at the wrong GZ!!! A quick find once one of us realised our error!

Decided to take Master M for a bit of geocaching on his own. He was stoked to be the first to find this cache for 2017. TFTC
To the south of seat is a large area but it helps when geocache senses are used
Tftc

Why did it take a while to spot it? Dunno but gotit in the end. Great views from up here. TFTC
I wasnt really expecting to find this one after reading the last two logs. A quick searched soon revealed it as it wasnt covered.I covered it over before leaving.
alas there was no chance to decom here.. again puzzled by the apparent gz been a waste land of dead grass, collapsed and collapsing earth and clay... with nothing in sight but a miniature plastic whiskey bottle... empty of course.. but as usual it was more than likely the rumbling tummies that were forcing the thinking else where .. and completely missing the cache that was likely right there in front?
Out for the afternoon to do a bit of geocaching with Sherlock the Puppy, one of my caching buddies, and as a pleasant surprise, Mr NewlynFam was easily persuaded to come along- yay!!!
As it was a beautiful winters' day, we decided to hit the spit.... lol.... as it wasn't too far from where we were at the time, and none of us had been there before... oh, and there were a few geocaches there to tempt us, of course!!!
By the time we reached this cache, we were running out of time and daylight, so we didn't spend as much time looking as we might have. We thought we spotted it right out in the open, but it turned out to be an Auckland University study container. I'm sure the cache was sitting there somewhere, just laughing at us! Will have to return for another attempt another day.

LOL - you can add us to the "took longer to find this one than it should have" category! Great view, enjoying our walk around this reserve. TFTC!
I came up the hill, no one around so that was good.
I searched and searched like a good geocacher should.
But before I knew it I was in a confluffle.
I was almost at the point of being in trouble.
Then passed by me a fair maiden with hair so flaxen.
It was about then I found the cache that was so taxin'.
A decon container that I was on a mission to find.
So without further adieu, I give you a piece of my mind.
if you do have chagrin, then like me too.
You can just blame the one they call G-2!

Found this one after we spent a little too long looking. Got there in the end
Tftc. Took a bit of hunting around for this one as pricefamily6 were with me & were hoping to get it first for the trackable. Guess who got there first . Took trackable & will place in another cache soon,
Another cache find in this lovely neck of the woods. This one took a lot longer than we expected, much like some of the previous finders, but after a more thorough search, this elusive cache soon appeared. Stunning views from here, thanks for the hide!
Meeting up again today with some friends who are keen to particpate in the sport of geocaching , having accompanied us yesterday . The raw recruits were to impatient to loitre to hunt the cache down, and disliked the thought of stick fingers and hands into unknown spaces, so decision was made to move on . We will return to seek this out another day.
Despite living only a few kilometers from this nature reserve, I'd never been here. This is a beautiful spot! We had a very nice hike and didn't have any trouble at all finding this cache. TFTC!
This took some time to find. Things got easier when we forgot the OSM and concentrated on the cache name and the hint.
TFTC, greetings from Finland!

Spent a hot summers day with yorkshirekiwi83 caching around the Glendowie area. A quick find while taking a nice stroll around Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve and the sand spit. TFTC!

We needed a few more caches to achieve our goal of 100 caches/month for the year.
It was such a lovely day we decided a nice bike ride around the park would work off a bit of the Christmas food and drinks as well as satisfy our caching requirement. We loaded our bikes onto the back of the car and headed to this park. As we were unloading our bikes we saw the sign saying no biking allowed, we had seen previous logs mention biking so had assumed that we would be OK.
It seemed a shame not to attempt these caches and as Mrs NZT's knee had been playing up she would have not been up for the walk, we carried on with our bikes and did in fact met a couple of others cycling here as well.
Arrived here and what an awesome view well worth the climb up the stairs for Mrs NZT.

I have riden past on my bike numerous times, and today decided to have a look around the nature reserve. Nice view.

Breaking some rules today - cycling in the park. Nice lookout point although I guess that the view is nicer when there's a high tide.
There was some dampness in the container I tried to wipe it out as I could.
Thanks for the cache! Greetings from Latvia!

Originally took the hint a bit too literally but a quick find after I widened the search. A nice view in a wonderful reserve, TFTC
This one should have been a quick find, yet I got so rusty that I seemed to have missed the right spot.
Well that's another not found cache today.
We will be back though.
