Travelling with iluvtrekking on a SA caching foray. Staying a couple of days in Clare to grab some finds. Chilly but a good morning for doing this trail. Thanks Thekellygang
Spend the afternoon in the Spring Gully Park and thanks to The Kelly Gang for their creative caches and some nice views of the countryside.
a fun day of caching in the Clare region with Countrylad, total of 22 smilies for the day for me.Title: The Quest for Cuppa Time Spring GullyIn the heart of the countryside, where rolling hills meet lush forests, there lay a hidden gem known only to the most adventurous souls: Cuppa Time Spring Gully. Countrylad and his trusty companion Chrispy had heard tales of this mystical place whispered among locals, promising not just the beauty of nature but also the thrill of discovery. On a bright Saturday morning, armed with a GPS device and a sense of excitement, Countrylad and Chrispy embarked on their geocaching adventure. The sun danced through the leaves as they trekked deeper into the woods, following clues left by previous explorers.Their journey wasn't without obstacles. They navigated around fallen branches, crossed babbling brooks, and dodged mischievous squirrels who seemed to mock their quest. Yet, fueled by determination and the promise of adventure, they pressed on.As they approached the coordinates indicating the location of the hidden cache, the anticipation grew palpable. Chrispy's tail wagged furiously, and Countrylad's heart raced with excitement. They scoured the area, searching high and low, until finally, Chrispy's keen nose led them to a hollowed-out tree stump.Inside, nestled among the roots, they found the treasurea weathered metal box adorned with symbols of past explorers. With trembling hands, Countrylad opened the box to reveal its contents: trinkets and treasures left behind by fellow adventurers, each with its own story to tell.Amidst the treasures lay a logbook, waiting to be filled with their names, a testament to their triumph over nature's challenges. With a sense of accomplishment, Countrylad and Chrispy added their signatures to the growing list of explorers who had conquered Cuppa Time Spring Gully. But their journey didn't end there. With the taste of victory still fresh on their lips, Countrylad and Chrispy vowed to continue their geocaching adventures, exploring new horizons and uncovering hidden wonders, one treasure at a time. And as they disappeared into the woods, the echo of their laughter mingled with the rustle of leaves, a reminder of the joy found in the simple pleasures of exploration and friendship.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free - 7th - 10th June 2024 Can't wait!!2438
Travelling Australia in our caravan since February 2014.With magnificent weather forecast we were up early this morning for a 5+ km hike in the Spring Gully National Park. We were hoping to beat the heat AND the flies. great walk, really enjoyed the wildflowers, and only a few flies!Mrs Felix had a rest at her computer after lunch, whilst Mr Felix tackled some newer caches by bike on the riesling trail which we first tackled back in 2014. Once together again, we headed off in the geocruiser to tackle a few more caches to get away from the constant construction noise in the caravan park. TFTC TheKellyGang
Our strategy of visiting every second cache on the walk was working well. In fact we almost felt like we hadn’t applied much effort even though we were close to the end of our walk.
The best part of where this cache is located is all the downhill back to the car. The hills are hardly tragic in the park, but Mrs Woodyrothwell loves to complain about them all. Even she was excited for the last bit of the walk.
We had timed everything perfectly and we headed back to the Middle Pub for another counter lunch special. tftc

Spending a few days exploring and caching around the Clare Valley. Visiting some towns that I haven’t been before so lots of unfound geocaches up for grabs.
Day two was Spring Conservation Park, Clare and Auburn.
I was unable to attend the JLW event and the trail in Spring Gully had lots of favourite points so I was keen to come here and see for myself. I parked the car and headed off on foot. It was very warm so lots of water was required but the high quality caches were very much worth it.
Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang.

The Govt website for this Cons Pk states that the ridge track is wheelchair friendly. Suffice to say…the last vehicle to use this track was a caterpillar tractor.
The T rating on these caches is however spot on for anyone on foot.
We enjoyed a short walk along the track with an icy wind keeping us on our toes.
Many thanks for the hide TheKellyGang

I headed up to Clare today with Team Waldron and FeatherWaite to go for a walk and do the caches in the Spring Gully Conservation Park.
After the weather we’ve been having, we jagged a great day for it - cool but fine - perfect weather for walking around the park.
The cache was found without any difficulty and was in good order.
Thanks TheKellyGang for the cache.

Found with e.gregory1 and Team Waldron on a trip up to Clare with the main aim of hiking around Spring Gully Conservation Park. With an early start we had plenty of time to pick up a variety of Multicaches, Puzzle caches, Traditionals and a Virtual cache as well as attending the CITO in Clare before heading for home. Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang!
That was a trek! Day 6 in SA and The Riesling Trail was high on the list along with a few other random caches. This is a bonus heading up high to this park. Hope to tick all boxes before heading to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my MTB to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
A lovely walk along here cache was easily found and is all good
Today freddo and I headed north to Clare for some JLWE preparation, along the way there and back we stopped to find a few caches including a nice and lengthy walk in spring gully.

I’m slowly working my way back to the car after visiting caches further along the track. There is now a gate back at the multi “Spring Into Action” starting point that prevents you from bringing a car this far. Still, a nice walk, and gentle contours.
No snakes, or deer, seen today.
Thanks again TheKellyGang.

Hunting caches in the Spring Gully park this sunny but chilly morning and this one was next. Quick find just before getting back in the car and had a chat with a local dog walker just before heading off the road for the hunt. Always nice to meet the locals! Thanks to TheKellyGang for this one

Sorry about the Generic Log, Many found and many to log from a few weeks ago.
The usual troupe of a Rat, Adder and Starfish on their Wednesday day out, today up North. Thanks for all the caches although I can not remember them all. The logs of the others pretty much describes the hide, find and adventure. TFTC

Some members of the Puzzled Puzzlers group of puzzle solvers were heading out on another Wednesday wander in search of Puzzles and anything else that comes within range. Today there was myself, Anymules, Blackadders and S.A. Sewer Rats on board and our ultimate destination was Clare or thereabouts. [8)] As usual there would be giggles, blood, probably a fall and some ripped clothing plus a lot of caches found. [:o)]
This is why we were here. A walk around Spring Gully Conservation Park and a few caches of course. [^] I had guessed the container on the way here so it was no surprise when we found it!

Luckily, no snakes blocked our way to and from this cache. Sadly, we had come unprepared: no cuppa, no food in the car, which meant we left the pretty area soon.

Mogni went to the correct tree here. Lots of lovely wildflowers appearing with the warmer weather. No log book here today so we walked back to the car. Log book and new plastic bag in place.

On the way home from spending the weekend with all the other crazy cachers at the Wacky Wirrabara event. I enjoyed this side track and time in the bush without having to run! TFTC
Driving back after our JLWE, we had an opportunity to go to a few places off the beaten track and pick up some (mainly) puzzle caches.
Our walk in the Spring Gully Conservation park yielded 7 finds and this was number 6.
A scouting group was just packing up after their weekend’s stay but we managed sufficient stealth and signed the log without being disturbed.
Thanks again TKG

Decided to visit Spring Gully this afternoon, such a peaceful place to visit, explore and... geocache!! This was a quick find before heading off on a little hike for a few more smileys :c) TFTC KellyGang!!
After helping Mr Frog bring some farm machinery to an airstrip close-by, he suggested that I go caching until he was finished. Unfortunately, the 5 hours that were promised was only 2. But the fertiliser was spread, job done, and he was happy. I did enjoy the morning's walk, listening to the birds.

What better way to stretch the legs after a drive up from Adelaide than a walk in the park. Great cache container smack bang right on GZ. Perfect day for a wander - not too hot and no reptiles spotted!

At 68m from GZ, four cars arrived, maybe, they had come for a cuppa or group walk so I just had to walk on. It's the next day now and I drove up to GZ for an easy retrieve.
