Being the only persons here, we had plenty of time to explore the ruins and look for the cache. Unfortunately the satellites had us jumping all over the place. The clue didn't help either. Maybe another time. Thanks for the placement anyway.
Hmmm, was not where I was expecting it to be, easy find in the end, but GPS had me elsewhere.
We arrived and were a bit worried as the carpark had a fair few muggles. Oops. Soon they left so we were able to find the cache and have a good look at the ruins. Thanks for placing the cache Burton's.
We are on a camping/4wd trip from Adelaide, slowly caching our way to Alice Springs.
We are following the Old Ghan Railway track and enjoying the history of the sidings.
Haven't seen this kind of cache container before.
Thanks for placing this cache for us.

Quick find on our way from Dalhousie Springs to Oodnadatta. What a place! Loved having a look around the ruins and trying to imagine living there.
Container is looking a little beaten up but would could still access log. TFTC ️

Ruins with storyboards I love them. I love reading about the history of places.
We’re staying at Dalhousie tonight and heading into the Northern Territory tomorrow on week 2 of our 5 week outback adventure. Tftc

Found with GF07, Hardacres and Zobo04 on our way to the Rock 4 July 2019 12:59 pm Thanks for the CacheBurton's.
Cache was found as part of a Simpson Desert trek by Team Waldron, Freddo, Featherwaite, E_Gregory1 and a couple of muggles.
After Coober Pedy it was off to Dalhousie Springs then across the desert to Birdsvaille south to Clayton Springs and then one last night in the Flinders.
A great trip and we even had time for a few caches.
A bit drier here than when I was last here.

Found as part of an extended trip with FeatherWaite, Freddo, Team Waldron and a couple of non-caching friend that saw us travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, through the Painted Desert to Oodnadatta, then on to Dalhousie and Mount Dare, before crossing the Simpson Desert to Birdsville and then back down to Adelaide via Marree and the Flinders Ranges.
We had pretty good weather, with moderately warm days and cool nights, but plenty of flies!
It was great to be able to find some remote caches in some really interesting and scenic locations.
Thanks Burton's for the cache.

An amazing location. They were definitely tougher in those days.

A classic spot.
We took a few pics and wandered around. Truely an oasis in the desert.
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. There was dust, flies, more dust, no mud and a million stars at night. There were no tyre issues. The geocaching led us to spectacular spots that were out of the way - and a few spots that were popular as it was the school holidays. We cached a few caches with others and it was good to see our friends on the trail.
Thanks to Burton's and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

found on our way up to the spring. enjoying this area very much and amazes me the work done in the past to survive up here.
Travelling the Oodnadatta track on this part of my great trip up the middle with a couple of muggle friends.
Just picking up random caches while I can without upsetting them to much.
It is time to leave the track and head north towards NT.
I have been here before but this time I’m towing my camper.
It would have been lonely out here back then and I think it still is.
Thanks Burton’s TFTC

Conned our convoy into an afternoon. Drive out to the ruins. Such an interesting site to explore - and lovely to see the amazing birdlife. NFF by katybee
Traveling on a Central Australia adventure with the awesome K8tybee. On the hunt for as many australian counties as we can get! (And hoping to make it across the Simpson Desert this time - it’s looking likely!!). Thanks to everyone who keeps these awesome caches maintained. Such a brilliant trip. Tftc

Over the past few weeks a group of us explored the Simpson Desert traversing along the Rig Road, WAA Line, French Line and the Hay River Track. Wow what an adventure we had out in the desert, except for the flies!
An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

WHOOPS! I'm logging about 100-200 or so caches like 3 months after the trip that we found them on! Completely forgot to log these but I did not forget the trip! Found this cache along with many others on an adventure around the red centre. Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

Another detour as we returned from Mt Dare to Dalhousie Springs today .
Surprisingly, there was no-one here when we visited [8)], although it was an unseasonally warm 38°C .
Looked around and around before finally stumbling over the partly crushed cache [B)].
TNLNSL.
Reshaped the container and made a little cubby house in the stones to protect it from being squashed in the future [^].
Thanks Burton's.

Now that we're in Alice Springs and back in phone range we can log our cache finds of the last few days.
What an interesting old place. The hardships the folk must've faced living out here.
Anyway, while some muggles busied themselves photographing the distant date palms we found the cache. Very unique! All is in good condition.
Thanks for the cache and adding to our Simpson Desert adventure.

Interesting site great to have a cache here too. Enjoying the journey from the event home. Tftc
Sorry but I can't read my notes regarding our find here. It was however, well worth the visit. We spent quite some time exploring the ruins and I took a lot of photos. I loved the post and rail fence especially and was surprised to see how flat the floors still are. Even found some water at the mound springs. There was a mild wind blowing and it was making the wire fence sing. Quite an interesting thing to hear. I felt the wires and the vibration was quite severe although the movement was minimal. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Loved walking around these ruins and was surprised at the "singing" wire fence. Spent quite some time reading all the information which was great as it allowed us to put faces and some life into these great ruins. Thanks for the cache.
Although we are behind schedule due to a blown tyre coming down the Old Ghan Railway Trail yesterday and having to spend 2 hrs at Mt Dare today getting it fixed, we still decided to add this diversion to our schedule for the afternoon. We all love visiting historic sites especially where there are old buildings that you can explore around. The lone grave was rather sad, someone is in there that has been long forgotten! Cache was easy to find although we had to replace it quickly before muggles came along. Yes believe it or not, muggles pulled in to the car park just as we were signing the log! We actually decided to camp at Dalhousie Springs which was a gorgeous place. TFTC. eatmorchikin from Brisbane (been to Alice event and heading home via the Simpson Desert)
Well we have ventured out to the Alice experience event and now it is over and it is time to head home.
However there is a few caches to find along the way.
This is one we found along the way as we headed back along the Binns and Oodnadatta tracks.
I didnt think I was going to get this one but there it was.

found with Borisb&natasha on our little adventure. Love this spot not happy that they taken nearly all the palm trees away. TFTC
On a wonderful trek with Gonefishen07 heading across the Simpson Desert and beyond. Thanks to all the COs who have provided some fantastic entertainment along the way. TFTC and for bringing us here.
A quick find even before the rest of the group arrived as we again started to head further west. TFTC TNLN SL
Another late log, sorry. Spent a few days here and so good to be back up North for work and pleasure. Ah the water - heading to Coward Springs in a few days too and so relaxing! TFTC Burton’s
On our way to the Springs for a cpl of days of R&R. Stopped here for an hour or so, exploring and marvelling at our pioneers and their ability ti cope with the harshness out here.
Whilst here the track became a highway late in the afternoon as many other travellers seemed to be heading to Dalhousie Springs also, so we headed off too so as not to miss out on a campsite!
Found the cache about 8m from listed coirds, in an obvious spot...

Thanks Burtons

I hadn't seen people for days. Muggles galore. Had to wait out the photographs. TFTC
Found on Aug 7 on the way to Dalhousie for a two day break and a rinse in the springs. Nearly skipped this one but when we realise it was only 15 m from where we parked we thought we'd better get it. TFTC
We added a bit to the camo as we found the cache in the open. The ruins are always a fascinating place to visit.
Thank you Burton's for placing this cache for us to find!

Came here as part of our Trakmaster East West trip enroute to our campsite at Three O'clock Creek, and spent some time wandering around this historic site. Thanks Burton's for adding to our visit by giving us a cache to find. Trecaz Trakkie TB visited.
Ventured out from our campsite at Dalhousie Springs to investigate the Old Dalhousie Ruins during a visit to this fascinating area in the first week of the school holidays. Searched for quite some time in ever increasing circles, finally concluding that the cache had gone missing. There were a few piles of rocks that looked promising but nothing materialised, so we replaced the missing container with an aluminium cigar case with a sheet of paper for a logbook (the only things I had with me and could use at the time). After many months without a find and with the CO's permission we logged it as a FTF, adding a favourite point for the adventure getting there in the first place, and for the fantastic ruins with their awesome panoramic views. Thanks for the cache Burton's!
