Beautiful winter's day, exploring Stonefields. Fifth and final stop here. Nearly didn't, as we'd already ordered donuts and only had a few minutes before needing to collect, but couldn't resist a stop here. Maybe this is the best park. Had a problem at GZ as there was a group on the bench directly opposite. Fortunately there were a few of us, so formed a natural barrier (looking at phones) while I did the fumbling. Fortunately bigger than the description indicates, so soon found. All good here, off to a donut treat, that's all for today, folks. TFTC
What an awesome park! Thank you for bringing us here. Miss 6 made quick work of finding the cache so she could get on with the serious job of playing. TFTC
A bit bigger than the nano I was expecting, but I was definitely pleased to see it.
This one stumped us for awhile but we just weren’t looking hard enough! Found in the end.
Loved exploring this new development. The old quarry end and ponds were a great place to explore. Lots of lovely small parks. TFTC
Finally after 2 years I'm back to turn my frown upside down. Not quite sure why I couldn't find it last time but it was a quick find this time
A group of muggle children took no notice of us as they were too busy climbing on the playground. Quick find in the first place we looked.
Caching today with TheMexikiwi and stopped in here just as a family turned up for a go on the swings. Thankfully the cache was nicely hidden well away from all that and we found it pretty quickly before heading off to the next cache. All good here. TFTC
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache quickly, thanks.
Got it..raced with Nöggi2 and he went to look on the left side me on the right side and finally he grabed it !!!
GPS was slightly off but easy find with hint. Lots of muggles our enjoying the sun at the park
I apologise for the generic log, but today was all about the numbers. I am attending WENZ in 10 days time, and I want to have the Mega event as my 1000th cache, so I have only these few days to find about 90 caches.
So whilst I'm staying in Auckland for a few days, I wanted to take a look around an area I hadn't previously visited, which was Stonefields and the surrounding area.
Another park, and another cache in the series. By now I knew what to look for, but this particular park was chocka-block of kids and parents enjoying the school holidays. But I was able to take a seat and contemplate my phone enough to be able to time a grab for the cache, after which it was a quick sign and then replace as found.
Thanks for the cache.

I had no plans for today so I decided to grab my bike and do a nice trip at Stonefields, - a really lovely and clean area. I enjoyed my ride and all the nice little parks and the Geocaches there! The weather was also good so I had 14 finds and two DNFs at the end.
Nice and quick find here!
Thanks for hiding!

It was a dry winter's day that wasn't too cold and there was more sun than rain threatening cloud. We had made a plan to gather the remaining caches in Stonefields that we hadn't found and also a few others near by. This was one of them.
When we had come to Stonefields before, we had to bypass this one as it was temporarily disabled. We had visited this park a few time before and looked for the cache but were unable to for one reason or another. The last time when we had to bypass it, that same day the cache was replaced, but had not had it's status updated when we were there. So, today was the time to grab this and put a smiley face in this park.
We arrived at the park, which was a popular as it ever was, and started to look around at where the cache might be. Mrs. Liver Bird had a feeling that the cache was in one corner of the park which she seemed to remember from the last visit., so we headed over there. Once there, we looked at the phone to get a better idea of it's location only to see that it was actually in the opposite corner of the park. D'oh. It always pays to check the GPS first.
So, while LordCacher08 played around a bit on the play-ground, LiverKiwi searched for the cache. It didn't take long until we were sitting down at GZ. A bit of inconspicuous feeling around and the cache was soon discovered. Surreptitiously the log was signed and put back into the cache container before being returned to it's secret position.

I have finished work for the day, it's late afternoon and I might get 10 or so caches before it gets dark.
I’m on a bit of a caching mission…. My 6000th cache is coming up soon and I want it to land on GC12559 Basket of Dreams in Queenstown on the 26th May. So I’m doing my best to make that happen! So today I’m grabbing all the park n’ grabs I can. As usual with most parks there are people here with their kiddies, but I'm pretty good at this. Learnt how to retrieve a cache despite people being round, it takes time though.. but as luck would have it, it was a fast find and a fast getaway! Cheers gernita.

At a course at Stonefields School today so popped over to eat my lunch at the park. A quick, easy find and a great playground (pity the kids were at home!)
Not to many spare car parks here this evening, so just parked up on the grass kirb on the corner of Fynes Ave, and made a quick find in the dark. Didn't really need my torch except to see where I was signing the log. Enjoying these fun caches while its nice and quiet around the Stonefields here tonight, cheers
Out to fill in another calendar day with Lycurgon, a quick pick up at GZ. Really cool little playground TFTC
There were a few parents and children in the playground but fortunately not near GZ so we were able to make the find undetected.
Impressive playground, well thought out and lots of fun judging by how much the children were enjoying themselves. TFTC.

Nice find while playing in the park with Huntsman2015. Must remember to bring dry clothes for Huntsman2015 next time we visit this park.
Second attempt at this one. First time around there was what looked like a brand new muggle mamma sitting right at GZ with brand new muggle, for longer than we could stick around and there is no easy way to explain why you want to rummage around her resting spot.
Attempt two was much more productive. Huntsman2015 LOVES the water feature here so while Ayden4asmile and he played mummy took a load off and soon had cache in hand, signed and returned.
Loving these caches. Some lovely spots around this area. Thank you!!

Out and about with what_fibble and panda0505. This park is so cool. Texted Family the park location so they can visit. Pleased to find a cache here seeing a previous DNF. TFTC
Found it but didn't bring a pen. Nice spot, tftc, my wife will be furious.
Found with darkangel10151 on a day of Geocaching. Got some free transport cards so making the most out of It!
After a line of DNF iy was nice ti finally grab a find! Not so nano as expected....

Out and about collecting some caches as we go.what a great park we would of loved this when we were younger.quiet a few people here but no one noticed us when we made another easy find.
A Fantastic day in Auckland hunting out caches, we decided to explore a new area (for us) and took a lunch break on Mt Wellington, fantastics views but very windy.
What a cool play structure. Managed to nab this one very stealthily while lots of families playing nearby. Lucky that I saw it on approach. Thanks for replacing!
Very very busy playground with lots of kids when we came. High risk of getting your toes run over by little ones on bicycles when getting this cache! Tftc
Happy to find this one at last exactly where i looked last time and thought it should be. Thanks for replacing it.
Co-ords on my gpsr had me in the middle of the path and with a few kids enjoying the playground it was difficult to search. I didn't want to have to rummage through the planting and as it is in such an open and exposed area a hint would be useful as playgrounds are a difficult place to search without arousing suspicion
Was out with merlot58 and saw that this cache has been replaced. This was one of 2 caches that I hadn't found in Stonefields yet. I suggested we come and try looking for this, as I had previously hadn't found this cache.
Our co-ords had us both in the middle of a path, pointing to the rocks/shrubs. We searched around the area through some of the plants, but didn't turn up the cache and felt awkward thoroughly searching the area, being so close to the playground.

The cache has gone missing many times from it's current location so we have moved it about 25m from the original location. Let's see how long this one lasts!

Trying to clean up Stonefields after having gotten maybe half of the caches here previously. I got to the spot, and did a quick check but didn't find it. Since there were a couple of families nearby, and there was a couple of DNFs before me, I didn't get into a more intensive search. DNF.
At the obvious location but no sign of it that we can see. Mind you... It is a nano and there is a lot of kids here so can't cast off all inhibitions to look.
Hooray found it took ages because so tiny plus we thought originally it was in the bark
Magnet has come unstuck from the base of the nano. May need a touch of superglue so as not to go missing.
Knocked the bugger off, literally. Saw it out of the corner of my eye when it hit the bark so no problems retrieving. Cold & windy day with a good chance of more rain so nobody about. Magnet has come unstuck from the base of the nano. May need a touch of superglue so as not to go missing. Daily cache sorted, now back to work. TFTC
