Logs
Logged as VIIPERS on another beautiful Norfolk Island day. Dont forget to slip, slop, slap. That sun bites! Thanks for the cache.
Found by the VIIPERS. There may not be snakes on Norfolk Island, but now there are VIIPERS. We are V(al Cybergran V) I(an icybeetas) I(an Riddell) P(am weirdobiker) E(velyn SciFiRulz) R(onice Ronice88) and S(ylvia Riddell who is with us in spirit.) This was a nice quick find as we were going past. We are just getting started on our first full day on the island. TFTC
Thanks endeavour 3 for the first find on the second day on the island.Found and logged by the VIIPERS comprising 7 Victorians and a Tasmanian here for a week: 5 teams icybeetas, Riddell, SciFiRulz, Ronice88, weirdobiker and Cybergran V.A nice start to our busy day.And our first lesson in the torrid historical history of this now beautiful island.A favourite point from me for our first trad on the island.
I have been told there are no snakes on Norfolk Island but I know that this week there are seven Vipers slithering around there. The VIIPERS are Val (Cybergran V), Ian ( half of the Riddell Team), Ian (icybeetas), Pam (weirdobiker), Evelyn (SciFiRulz) Ronice (ronice88) and Sylvia (the second half of the Riddell Team. Today we slithered to Bloody Bridge and made a find.A brutal story which I as a Tasmanian can relate to as we have a convict built bridge with a similar story in Richmond Southern Tasmania. Thank you endeavour3 for placing and maintaining caches which encourage us to tour the island. Logs of caches found are signed VIIPERS to save space.
Thanks for the history lesson! A late morning find for those of us on a multi mission on the Isle. Glad my muggle buddy loves the long history celebrated on Norfolk so here we are. And for me its like Norfolk has been a myth or has at least has been in the imagination mirrored by faded school lessons for so longnow the dream to visit Norfolk Island is real! The holiday suddenly looks busy busy with a schedule of tours, events and 70+ caches to find. From the first step on the island everything has been fabulous. Cache found quickly and logged as VIIPERS - a crew of caching buddies from Vic and Tassie ( who include cybergran V, SciFiRulz, Riddell, icybeetas Weirdobiker) TFTC and the fun.
A group of caching friends are visiting from the mainland and enjoying the scenery while caching. The log was signed as team (viipers) who include cybergran V, SciFiRulz, Riddell, Ronice88, icybeetas and myself. I can believe the story may be true in relation to this bridge. I'm sure there was a lot of unfortunate occurrences between the prison guards and the convicts on the island when the infrastructure was being built
A beautiful old bridge but such a gruesome story to add to its history. Thanks for showing us around NI. TFTC
Enjoying two weeks on Norfolk Island always wanted to visit, now Im here! And theres caches of course! What a beautiful bridge and interesting story!Beautiful place, thank youendeavour3 for placing this game piece here, showcasing this lovely area and contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy. Happy trails!
An easy find when returning from a tour of the historic site. Another fabulous view! Tftc
I am sure in the convict days that this bridge was a bridge over troubled waters. Great week here with Graham Rogers country music tour.TFTC endeavour3
(4 of 6 today)Our final full day on the island, and the Woof Patrol (aka **Calypso 62**, **Jackscruff**, **Goldberry17**, **FunFurMe**, **creativechookie** and me) only have a few caches to pick up to finish all the finds - except tomorrow's farewell event. Our trip is winding down. But we still have one more walk with our wonderful tour guide **endeavour 3**.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Took longer than it should to spot this one. Finally we had eyes on it and the log was signed and replaced. We only have one cache left to find to finish the island...SLTNLNTFTC
Another spot we crossed many times but did not stop to grab the cache. Today, our last full day on the island was the day!We made the most of it grabbing those few unfound caches down here in the south of the island. This is an interesting little mystery story about this bridge. The Sound and Light Show last night definitely went with the murder and blood theory. Of course with technology today that theory can actually be tested. Probably best not to though as the eerie mystery adds to the appeal of this part of the island.Great to see convict structures still doing their job.TFTC # 6073
We spent a fun and productive week geocaching on Norfolk Island, as well as seeing the spectacular views. We also did several tours and other activities on offer, which highlighted different aspects of the island life and history. Thanks for this cache.
Found during a week of geocaching on Norfolk Island with GeoMates. It was a successful week and an adventurous one. Thanks go to endeavour3 for placing this cache.
#7499- Out wandering around the southern section of the island. An obvious spot for a cache on the way through. Thanks
#14405 11:30A quick find on a place that has a tragic history. We would learn more of what happened at this bridge during the Sound and Light tour on Saturday.TFTC endeavour3.
Found with oldmorty.Quick park and grab. With such an amazing view, we decided to sit in the car and eat our lunch. Thanks to the CO for the cache.
#7564 NI Day 3After our breakfast event, harveyt2079 and I headed towards Kingston again to collect caches in the south eastern corner of the island. What a horrible 30 year period in Norfolk Island's history. But fantastic to seem some excellent engineering still standing strong today.TFTC endeavour3
My buddies: bella at waggyLast cache for the day. We did well for time, so we sat and enjoyed the view for a bit. I taught b@w how to edit the exposure setting on his phone while taking photos of the moon. NThank you endeavour3, for creating, placing and maintaining this cache. I have enjoyed finding it and visiting this spot.Follow my story on Instagram @AlphaDeltaIndigo
Last cache for the day with ADi as it was almost dark. A horrific and tragic story and Ive seen a similar bridge near Launceston with a similar tale. A bit of time out to sit and enjoy the view. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
Verry scary, in fact one can easily imagine the ghosts here.Found and signed despite this. Thanks endeavour3
OCW frazeydaze. The vies were so good that we stopped here to eat our lunch. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC endeavour3.
We'd heard the story from the tour guide and kept clear of any spirits today. There are some very steep hills here. Found with MummyPenny on one of them. Thanks endeavour3.
Found with Ris768 while travelling on Norfolk Island TFTCLog 3280Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache endeavour3
Arrived today from Sydney, picked up my car at the airport and drove myself to my apartment. Picked up a few supplies and headed out to do some exploring, late afternoon. This is my first find on NI. Some very interesting history here. Loved the old bridge and the views from GZ are outstanding.
Day 2 of my Norfolk Island adventure. I can understand why people want to live here . Its a little bit of paradise. Lucky Im not scared of cows. Ive seen plenty wandering around Some logs signed as N2OThis is my 12065find.Thankyou endeavour3 for placing and maintaining this cache
Admired the bridge and the cows before heading on to the cache. After finishing a few of these by now, I knew exactly where to look! Nice view up here. TFTC
Second find on our first day at Norfolk Island. The cache was found in a location that appears to be quite common around here.
Found with the Canberra group on the 4th day of our Norfolk Island geocaching adventure. Log signed as Dem CBR. Tftc
# 8942 Norfolk Day 3, team "Dem CBR" myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had another fantastic day of caching and exploration. We started down at Kingston with our host for the morning: Endevour3. It was cool and very blustery today, but not enough to discourage us. Then it was off to east coast to grab some more difficult caches. Lots of climbing today, but always stunning destinations. Finally off up to Captain Cook Pt for a couple of amazing spots.A quick park and grab. That house above looks precarious. Some logs signed collectively "Dem CBR".Thanks endeavour3 for the Traditional Cache
On holiday in Norfolk Island with StrangeTrousers. Beautiful Island. TFTC signed as DEM CBR

Thanks so much for the many caches endeavour3 and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
T-Tech and I are visiting Norfolk Island for our 40th anniversary. We arrived from Brisbane and are staying for 2 weeks at Endeavour Lodge, and plan to get some R&R, see all of the sites, learn the history, and gather every cache here so we can claim the Se Dun Challenge This afternoon we headed out to Ball Bay to gather a few caches, but first took a detour as T-Tech liked this one's name! It came to hand quickly. TFTC, endeavour3.
Over with IolantheK from Brisbane celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary [^]After arriving this avo and sorting out accommodation, car, phone SIM and some food we set off do do a few caches. Found this one in one of the usual places [^]TFTC endeavour3
During July my wife and I took a break from Melbourne and spent a wonderful week on the Island - the first time for me (but hopefully not the last) and the second for her. Such a delightful place! I took my GPSr, with the traditionals downloaded (I don't really make the time to do puzzles or multis) and figured I would find a few as we went around the place. I never had any intention of finding all 41 of them, but somewhere around day 5 I realised it was actually feasible.
In the end it was a close call - one quite tough-to-get-to cache (Bird Island) I had to visit twice after not reading the description before my first visit and discovering it is really a multi and then stuffing up the calculations so I had an almost blind search for the cache; another (St Barnabas) was out of its hidey hole so took three visits before I found it among some fallen leaves nearby). But I got there and managed to claim them all.
In the interests of saving the limited data on my phone, I only look placeholder drafts during the week and am completing them back home, a month later. So with all due apologies, they are going to be pretty generic for the most part. But I will add comments about those that I particularly remember. No matter how detailed the final logs, I want to say a big thanks to those who have placed the caches and those who continue to maintain them. I had great fun finding them and they really helped make sure I saw as much of the Island as possible. So - a big and sincere TFTC

I had been meaning to visit the Bridge here for a few days and with it being in the vicinity of one of the very few traditionals that remained for me to find, it became a definite priority. I was initially a bit confused as to where the actual bridge was, but my wife very helpfully suggested it might be down the hill in the kind of place you might be inclined to place a bridge...

I needed a long arm here as it was pushed in a bit but found in the end. Great view nearby
Last cache for the day and while I only grabbed a handful or so, I did glean plenty of labs and all in the company of a non-caching Mrs Gunnie. It's a win...
We overshot the bridge and we had no time to return, so it has been added to the list of 'follow up' places for later in the week. No trouble with the cache, it was in hand very quickly and my name added to the list.
Cheers endeavour3.

My last find for the day before the battery on my phone went dead. Love the story of this bridge. TFTC
Had a good look at the bridge before heading off to find the cache. No blood seepage today! Thanks for the cache.
Quick find other than working out the best place to park the car! Rewarded with a stunning view. A few fun swaps here so not much room left but we managed to leave a unicorn pencil. TFTC
Only took one year to do this! DNF last year after quite some time searching with 4 people. I think that it had been removed ? Maintenance. Easy grab this year. TFTC
Another easy one up within the light cloud.
We wonder about the house up here. Demolition in progress - is that because the foundations aren't too stable. It's perched in a precarious position.
Thanks for giving us ponderous moment.

A quick park and grab on a pretty steep hill. We’re off to find one more and complete a multi cache now. Before heading out to second sands for a snorkel and a picnic.
Another bonus cache find with Biggles303 while waiting for the Tealby B Team to finish up at the nearby golf club. I was expecting that the cache would be near the actual bridge. This is a VERY steep road! TFTC.
TFTC,
Day 7 on the Island and back into some walking to caches. Our aim was to finish the 10 remaining caches on the Island so that we don't have to panic tomorrow.
An interesting story.
Nana located this one.
Added a favourite and visited trackables.

Bloody bridge??
More like Bloody corner!!
Exactly the same spot as all the others

You little ripper, picked up a Travel Bug from this cache to take back to Aus. Nice very quick easy find very early in the morning while out watching the sunrise. Left a few swaps for the kids as there was only a log-book in this cache. TFTC. SL. Thanks for putting a cache up here for us to find and enjoy. Great work. Cheers.
On 15 October 2022 a new batch of prisoners were shipped out of Brisbane to spend 7 days incarcerated on Norfolk Island. It has now been 4 nights and and countless days into their sentence at Ocean Breeze Cottages.
Winding back on escape plans for today at least the prisoner used day release to gather more intelligence. This vantage point come be useful as the brilliant views will reveal the arrival of passing vessels into the bay and beyond.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Tackled a huntsman in the dark and had some strange looks from passing cars which made it more exciting lol, TFTC
Pulled up nearby during an early morning caching trip for a straightforward find. TFTC endeavour3

Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places they have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

Norfolk Island and Sydney trip, Day 2, to Norfolk Island.
Late arrival in NI, visited the cemetery to get some details for Bird Rock, thought we'd grab a trade whilst in the area. Great views.

It is a rainy Sunday on beautiful Norfolk. Geo day planned. Thank you for the caches, taking us to special places.
TFTC. Was here a couple of days ago and didn’t find it, but after finding a similar hide elsewhere it dawned on us where it was, so we came back and there it was. Great view at sunset from here across the bay.
What a view !
Found by iamapom at 11:07 on 27/4/2022. Thanks to endeavour3 for the Traditional. This is Iamapom’s find number 2485. Greetings from Melbourne Australia.
