Day 15 of my interstate trip. Today I left Grenfell and continued to head closer to Sydney. Tonight I stayed in the Mount York Campground unfortunately it was dark when I arrived so had to wait till morning to see how nice the views from this spot. I managed to find 19 caches today and ended up with 3 DNF's today.A slight detour on the way out of town. Nice view.TFTC swift13
On our travel we found ourselves in Glendale and took the opportunity to grab a few caches, a nice quick find, thanks for placing it
A quick find here, cache is all goodHeaded over to the Capital GeoBash in Canberra, ACT with Freddo over 5 days, travelling through the central part of NSW before caching around the hinterlands. A nice few days over with great weather. Thanks for the cache
Stopped and found the cache. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Was hoping to collect this one tomorrow but either way no luck at the country club (a DNF and too exposed to drinkers on the verandah) I came back to sign this one. A quick find though I went to far initially.TFTC swift13
Took a little bit of a search in the dark but finally spotted the cache. As it’s dark, not much of a view to be had. Got a standing ovation from the residents across the road after finding the cache. Maybe the CO or just know about the cache? Had a good chuckle.
Travelled over from New Zealand to do a two week roadtrip down to the Rutherglen Mega and back to Sydney. Thanks for the cache, swift13

Disinterested daughter saw this one from the car as we pulled up! Weddin shire covered while travelling from the Blue Mountains to Wagga.
We are staying in Grefell for the night so we could get the caches in town. This is one we found. TFTC swift13.
The geocaches found town are taking on a tour round town and the surrounds. It’s very different country to where we live in Gippsland, Victoria. Sweeping plains and low rolling hills.
A quick find by Mrs SKI.
Today we said farewell to Temora and moved on the short distance fo Grenfell. We picked up a few caches en route and arrived mid morning and set up in the donation camp at the Old Railway Station. A lovely setting with the restored station and a playground nearby. Only sharing it with one other! We then checked out the local area caching breaking it with lunch and a coffee at one of the local cafes. The scenery here with its rolling plains and hills is quite different to home. The storm clouds rolling in over the nearby mountains were spectacular.
As for the nearby silo art, amazing.
Thank you to the local cachers. A mixture of hides and a couple quite clever.

TFTC. We are slowly making our way to the Queensland Mega at Dayboro. From Temora we detoured to Grenfell for an overnighter (or maybe an extra day depending on the weather forecast). After making camp we ventured out to find some caches and to explore the area. We had a great couple of hours 1 DNF and 1 maybe later as well as 11 finds.
So many places a cache could hide here in the long grass. After 'digging' into the grass, which covered the fence, etc, I was about to log a DNF, when I glanced back and spotted the cache, in full view from the road. The cache and log are good. TFTC swift13.
We were heading back from the QOGM zig zagging our way picking up caches along the way.
We made a short detour to pop up to this one and I am very glad that I did. The cache was a nice easy find and the log book now contains our name and as the cache page says we were rewarded with some fantastic views when we turned around to head back to the highway.
It has turned quite cold and very overcast but at least the rain hold off long enough to enable us to find this one and see the spectacular views
Thanks swift13 for the cache.

With a day free I decided to go for a drive to Grenfell and clean it out. This didn’t end up happening as some caches I couldn’t find and some are missing (according to past logs). About ½ of the caches I found today are in need of some urgent TLC. The list of issues includes: cracked containers, waterlogged/full logbooks, missing parts of field puzzles, incorrect coordinates and completely missing containers. I did try my best to help CO’s with these problems as much as possible but unfortunately, I didn’t have enough supplies with me for all of them. I hope the CO’s will continue maintaining these great hides, to stay alive for others to find in the future. Today was a great day full of creative hides, great locations, fun hikes and lots of laughs. TB visit on all found caches today and on some of the smaller log books/sheets I signed as 13/9 JM. Even though I was upset with the state of some of the caches around, I still would like to say thank you to all the CO’s for taking the time to place the caches I found and the fun I had while finding them today. Sorry about the generic logs. Only the more interesting hides and DNF’s will get an extended logs due to the amount of caches I found today.
nothing like driving along a long road with little occupation only to have the cache gz opposite a house... admittedly the house may not have been there when the cache was placed. this wasn't an easy find for me today but nor was it impossible thankfully.
Out and about on the way around Grenfel we found some really good , sneeky caches over two days, it was a awesome to be a cacher, we luv the country side out this way thanx to the cache owners for making the day what it was , awesome
we have some caches to return to because we ran out of weekend , lol
cheers from the Routers

We nearly missed this one & then all of a sudden it was right there, it makes you wonder how it could be missed.
We have now set up camp at the old railway station. After a lunch break we did a tiki tour of the town, finding some very cleverly hidden caches in some great location. The town was very hot today.
Thanks for placing this cache swift13

Last time we tried to do this a few new years eves ago, the people in the house up the hill were watching, today, nobody around. Easy find.
. 2384 so far for us. Thanks for placing this cache swift13, without cachers like you we wouldn't have a hobby. Signed log.
Found at 10:52 AM GAFF1.
Let's see if we can write a log that is longer than the cache description - yep we have done it No idea what to say about this cache except - what the heck are they growing in these fields

10893. Found with AngelG27 and specimenX ("SAFi" in most of the logs) on a day run up Cowra way.
With the bad weather down the coast postponing a planned run that way, a quick rethink had us planning this run instead. A early start had the three of us hit the Highway before 7.30 and not too long after we started our caching spree. Awesome run, with quite a few of the "History of..." puzzles solved and (all but one) collected, as well as 5 First To Finds making a great caching day with my new invasion buddies.
This was the next find for the day, and while the girls enjoyed their well earned lunches from the local bakery, I descended from the Geomobile to make the find. Cache retrieved, signed, returned, and it was off to the next one.
Thanks again swift13 !!

Plans were set in place with fitzy_1965 and AngelG27 for an "invasion" of several country towns between Yass and Cowra. We managed to dodge the worst of the drizzly weather to collect a decent swag of caches on what was a fun day with great company! We signed with the acronym SAFi ("i" for invasion ).
I was scoffing a sausage roll in the car so fitzy made the find for us on this one! Gotta love country town bakeries for hot pies and sausage rolls on a rainy day!
Thanks for the hide, swift13

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX and I headed out on a geocaching mission to collect a few numbers for Fitzy_1965 as he has a mission to find 2000 caches this year. This mission was from Canberra to Borowa, onto Cowra, Young, Grenfell and back home. We travelled well over 700kms over 13.5 hours! I found 54 caches in total, my best ever daily total, and surprisingly 5 FTFs! Fitzy obligingly did all the driving and SpecimenX and I made most of the finds, although SpecimenX had her caching glasses on today and was quick to spot most of them. We had solved a few puzzles before leaving so we were well armed to collect both trads and puzzles. The rain/drizzle/mizzle did not slow us down and we had a great day of caching and laughs. We signed the logs as S A F I (for invasion) to save time in the rain!
35th cache of the day found at 1435. I think at this point both SpecimenX and I were having lunch, so Fitzy made the find on this one. Thanks swift13!

I have driven along this quiet country lane a couple of times, but not stopped for the cache.
There has always been somebody mowing grass or loitering outside the house on the other side of the fence !!
Today I was going to find this cache whether somebody was at home or not
I parked as close to GZ as I could, hoping to block the view from the house.
And to my delight, could see the cache before I had hopped out of the geomobile
A quick find before anybody came out to investigate
TFTC, Oh ... and nice views

Our only free day for quite some time so we decided to head out on a geomission around the area. We have had a couple of mini tours lately, but today we went all out to Cowra and Grenfell to see how many we could find. Rapidlywild came along for the drive to fill her gaps where she has previously posted DNF's. The weather was lovely and the drive was picturesque, thank you to all the cache owners for bringing us to this lovely part of Australia.

Plans were made with Tanso for a day trip round Cowra and Grenfell. We started the day off with the WWFM event and then it was on the road for us
Very enjoyable day out in the smaller towns. Undortunately we did have a number of DNF's however these things happen and it just gives us more reasons to return We arrived in Cowra about 2pm and I got back to Canberra just on 2am. Was a range of finds and some very good ones too ! We finished the trip driving through Young when we spotted a "bomfire" which turned out to be a vehicle on fire. We pulled up and called 000 immediately to get the firies out. Always fun and games on road trips [:p]
Thanks swift13 for placing these caches, lovely area especially on a day like today.

Was very worried about the parking (or lack of it) but nothing disturbed the tranquility of the place and the after crashing around in the undergrowth for a while it was spotted. TFTC
A bit nervous about traffic but there wasn't any. Was not expecting where it was and so it took a little longer. TFTC

On my last trip north there was not enough time to stop at Cowra, so I decided on a day trip. When I listed all the caches between Young and Cowra I had quite a list I could try to do. So off I went.

Found on a huge day trip with Sol de Lune. Luckily, there was no one on the verandah today, so we were able to park in front of GZ for a very quick find. Nice hide. This is a lovely area in the country. TFTC swift13!
..."Only walking distance" someone says.....well that answers my question.
Pulled up at GZ and started the search and young Toy Hunters had in hand after a couple of minutes. No problems and all was good.

Was going to look for this one tonight, but the nearby house had someone on the veranda wondering why I had stopped here, so just drove away.
Walked right past it, then found it on way back. Searched for about 5mins maybe less. Thanks muchly

Even with the risk of bad weather, we headed out with Roostaman, to pick up some caches.
Parked geo-mobile to block view of muggle, who was mowing his lawn.
Cache was located, after a short search.
Many thanks for placing this cache, swift13, for us and others to find.
