I had carried on along the path from Weona Place, then made my way carefully along the shoreline to the Beach Academy. Once on the correct side of the Pohutukawa the hide was quickly spotted. TFTC.
Nice walk on the beach on a sunny day
Thanks for the cache, all good with the hide

Came here this morning pre-dawn to grab this one to continue my daily streak (Day #412) Timed it so the tide was out and was an easy walk even in the dark. Nice quick find at the GZ as per the hint. TFTC
This cache was cleverly hidden in the branches of the great Pohutukawa tree close to the wall. A tiny cylinder tcache with some small treasure in it. Lovely walk at low tide with g’son albeit squelcthy

At our first try we could not search because of the water. But today we had the chance to search and found it after a while. This place is so beautiful. Thank you for that cache.
Greetings from Germany.

Greetings from Germany.
Caching today and avoiding the showers with liketips and TheMexican and came in search of this one.
Got lucky with the tides here and after a nice little walk to GZ the cache was soon in hand and we were on our way again.

The tide was out but it was still very wet and slippery underfoot so we made our way very slowly to GZ.
Once there it was a quick find and after signing the log we spent a bit of time enjoying the serenity of this secluded spot.
Thanks Safaribastard for bringing us here.

I have never been to this peaceful spot, was not sure if tide was coming in or out, but easily assessible with relatively dry feet once past the rock wall at the carpark. Heaps of Swans in residence today. Thought there may have been another finder today as I was following somebody's foot steps. Very pleasant walk with some prime real estate. The tide was on its way in which cleaned my feet before getting back in the car.
I parked up above, and then walked around the park to the beach. As I approached, I could see this one, so no trouble. TFTC.
Went the long way round from the walkway, even though the tide was out. Rocks were quite slippery with all the rain today. Managed to find a large protein shake bottle sitting out in the open on a branch that I thought miht be the cache (it was full of water), but merlot58 said that it was the cache. After a bit more of a search, I found the cache well hidden and nice and dry.
Found myself back in the area, as luck would have it, it was low tide
Made it to GZ without getting my feet wet, after parking at the end of Garnet Road. Learnt on my return I could have taken a short cut! Thanks for the hide, and bringing me to this amazing spot.

A few minutes of searching soon found the cache. Nice wandering this coast with the tide out. Tftc
Came down to the end of the road not long after high tide and thought we would scope it out for another day when the tide was right. It looked doable so off we went, a bit of careful route choosing and we got to the tree without having wet socks. Then it was a prolonged search before we eventually found the cache, in an obvious place but well cammoed. TFTC
Finally, the stars aligned for me on this one. Lunch break and Tides. Found the long way down to the beach. Walked past a cave dweller with real beach front property, residing in one of the caves, with a pink sheet for privacy. Walked around the corner to see a massive tree. Cache quickly found. Had I came from the other direction as originally planned, it would have taken much longer. While leaving, I found a nice Obstacle course to follow. TFTC
I parked on Westmere Park Ave and visited the new information board before looking for the entrance to the beach. Fortunately the tide was out as far as the eye could see, and the ground wasn't too bad for walking on. I made my way to the hidden beach. When I saw the size of the pohutukawa I thought it might take me a while to locate the cache, but my instincts honed in on it. Despite not being found for 5 months, the cache is in excellent condition. TFTC
Nice little walk around the cliffs. Lots of big trees with exposed roots which made for a fun place for the kids to play and crawl through. Found the cache in its home, nice and dry. TFTC
Beautiful day today so decided to put the Kayak in at Pt Chev Beach & paddle around to grab this cache, not quite high tide so had to get out of the Kayak to make the Grab. Nice find here. TFTC
Found using the fact that the tide was well out but oingkiwi chose to use the bushbash method. TFTC.
Timed this one really well as it was completely low tide and we didn't need to get any wet feet attempting this cache. Soon located GZ and the cache soon after. Thanks
Vistra and I had a couple of hours to sprare this afternoon, so we heaaded out to this area to have another go at clearing it out (we had achieved that a couple of years ago).
Wasnt until we got to GZ before we read the description, we were lucky and the tide was in fact out, so quick walk to GZ and quickly put my hand on it. TFTC

I teamed up with yorkshirekiwi83 this afternoon to clear some of the recent caches between Point Chev and Ponsonby. The tide was low enough when we arrived at the beach, so wandered around to GZ where we quickly found the cache. TFTC!

Took advantage of the low tide today. Surprised a cuple and their dog, but they had other things on their minds.TFTC.
In a rush to get home to the kids (it was 3 o'clock) we thought "just one more" and zoomed down the street towards this cache. Didn't even read the description just hoofed it in the general compass direction, leaving my sensible caching shoes behind in our hurry. Got quite muddy/sandy and almost face planted into the mud but was rescued by B. Phew! So we were pleased to find the cute cache reasonably easily and are now hoping that we make it home before the kids. Tftc and the adventure.
#250 Geodad, Geogirl and Geodog are out today for International Earthcache day. This one has been on the to do list for a while. We have always had the wrong times for low tide. Well today the moon and earth aligned in such a way as to create a window of time for us to find this cache. Geodad found this one because of might height. Cache nice and dry and tucked back away safely.

A perfect days caching ending here with a perfect low tide and a pefectly sized, dry cache [^]
This was our last cache of the day, and a very pleasant walk around the shore at low tide. There were so many nooks and crannies, we were really quite pleased when we actually hit upon the right one.
Thanx FTC and for bringing us here.

While waiting for the owners of the car we've come to Auckland to buy, we headed off to find this cache. The tide was favourable and after a quick walk I easily spotted it. TFTC Safaribastard. After reading the previous catchers log I added a few leaves to make it less obvious.
A very luckily timed visit as I had the low tide!
A couple was at the far west corner of the park above.
Thanks for the replacement

Had come past the area by kayak last time.. pulling in for lunch in fact, but on that day the blessed signals form the sky had pointed me to the other tree and the combo of wet kayaking shoes and clay did not make for a good cachers grip... this time however the tide was nicer to us and kept well away so the over land route was far more successful... walk and grab.
A lovely spot to rest and wait for Mr P to return from the cache finding expedition... thanks for the placement. T4tc
Loved walking to the cache having never been on this portion of this coast before. Always enjoy new vistas and this one was great (especially on the return journey).
Made my way to GZ and thought hmmm, where is this going to be. Tried using the hint but when that didn't result in a cache, decided to read back on some logs. They didn't enlighten me much either, so took a deep breath and tried again. Eureka. Happy to get the smiley on this one. TFTC and gets a favourite for the location.

After some coffee and lunch at the French market I desired some beach to enjoy the sun. Great spot! TFTC
Out and about on this overcast afternoon for a couple of hours of cache searching on this public holiday. I arrived on the incoming tide so was able to walk around the point. At GZ I put my hand straight on the cache. I decided to take the more direct route back and followed a local trail up the cliff side just to aid a little more adventure to the proceedings. Cheers for the smiley!
Found this morning on the way home from work. Thought I'd have a quick look but expected to have my usual luck with elements like Tide and Muggles...
But...while tide looked to be coming in, it still seemed possible but not perhaps from Plan A access point. Plan B was somewhat easier but even then I still expected to find a camp of itinerant sickness beneficiaries having a camp out/drunken binge right beside GZ. Always the optimist eh. ..
.imagine my surprise when I found the whole area deserted. ..
Unbelievable, and I managed to get hands on prize reasonably quickly. ..
Interesting little spot, thanks for getting me there. Cheers V.

I timed this just right so had a nice easy walk to GZ although I disturbed the nearby game of swans that were paddling about and they all took off - quite a sight to see! The cache was soon located and I removed the beer bottle that was left with the cache making it a little obvious.
It's amazing how far the tide goes out! Just as well too - last time I came here the tide was on it's way in and I wound up having to wade back - lol! Nice easy find this time, though I'm not sure the beer bottle stuck on top of the cache was actually supposed to be there...
Thought we may have found it but then decided it was not what we were looking for. Came back eventually to the same spot and could not believe why we had missed it.
I remember another cache down here but not so far around, Nice to have footprints to follow so I could avoid the soft spots they found.

Wouldn't have wanted to do this when the tide was in!! What a fun find, thank you!

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 141.7 feet or 43.2 meters.
I have had to move this to the next bay around. The coordinates have changed accordingly.
it is now in a camo'ed pill canister in a horizontal pohutukawa. Near the bank. It will need to be accessed at mid to low tide.

In response to below... I also think it has been muggled. I looked for it 2 or 3 days ago and couldn't find it -but didn't post as I wasn't sure I was actually looking in the right place! I nearly knocked myself out on the tree in the process, AND I got trapped by the tide coming in while I was searching, so wound up having to wade to shore, LOL! It is a really pretty area I didn't know about before a cache was placed here, so it would be a shame to lose it - but I saw some pretty obvious signs that the area gets used by late-night visitors fairly frequently. There was campfire remnants and a load of bottles lying around, so they are your likely mugglers! Maybe the cache could be moved closer to the area where the road meets the shore or even up in the park itself?
[B)] This cache has been muggled, I think. It is definitely missing and as its quite a hard location to hide in I may not replace it. Thoughts?
Low tide so we were able to access the cache from Garnet Rd disturbing crabs on the way. Thanks for bringing us here. Geocaching has opened up our eyes to all these secret little spots hidden around Auckland. So many places you would never normally know about unless you are local to that particular area. TFTC
For some reason it took us ages to zero in on the location and we where about to give up when we found it. Great disguise. tftc
Tide was well out, so soon found my way to Gz.
Started in all the wrong places until I reread the listing and it was easier than I had feared. Tftc

My phone had no charge and I'd just hooked it up to an external battery and started it when notification of this popped up. Published 3 minutes ago, and close to home so I was in with a chance!
Jumped in the car thinking I had my headlamp but discovered as I pulled up near GZ I couldn't find it! So I had to resort to my phone LED light. My phone was sitting on 0% charge connected to my battery pack the whole time!!!
Made my way to GZ, avoiding getting wet fet and after about 10 minutes searching made the find! Still a blank log for a (FTF)!
Clambered back up the cliff through the tree back to my car; a neat location!
Bumped into Mr Jacksonz as I got in my car to leave and said a quick hi before making my way home.
Thanks!

This arrived in my inbox and was not far away, so thought I'd have a crack at a FTF. Arrived to meet slieschke leaving, so no FTF for me. Went over the top for a nostaglia kick since I used to play on these cliffs as a kid. Took way longer to find than expected as I misinterpreted the hint, and didn't expect it to be where it was. I'm concerned that it will not survive the first stormy king tide that we get.
Trashed out 14 beer bottles (the most I could carry) so walked around the beach, and surpised to find myself behind some plastic meshing cutting off beach access because it is next to a worksite. Quite unnecessary I thought as I strode over it with my precarious load of bottles.
Thanks for the adventure.
