After suffering some of the worst live entertainment while trying to eat our pizza as quickly as possible it was great to escape and grab a quick cache here that was just around the corner. We signed a make shift log paper that was left in here. Tftc
A couple of muggles and a dog in the park but we were able to sit and wait for them to not be paying attention (except the dog may've spotted us) and got the cache after a few minutes searching
Found while out caching with TwigNZ. Found cache quickly after a bit of a hunt around. Signed log and replaced as found TFTC
Happy to get my 2018 Geocaching year started in a positive way. I'm spending a couple of weeks in Auckland for a change, and have flown my lad up to spend the 2nd week with me and to give him a chance to catch up with a few that I had already found up here, but also for the pair of us to discover lots of new ones together.
So this was a quick trip out get my lad's 200th cache and a few others along the way. We found ourselves in Howick, and decided to grab a couple of quick and easy ones whilst here. This one definitely filled the bill, and apart from getting a few grazes from the Rose bushes, it was a quick signing of the log. With such a small space, we simply put the date and T & T to represent my son (ThatWeirdGuy04) and I.
As always, I am eternally grateful for all the CO's who make the effort to place Caches to be found, so thanks to the CO for putting it out there, and Happy New Year to you!

Very tricky log to extract but managed it and signed as requested. Lovely spot. Thank you for bringing me here.
I nearly gave up then i saw something.
And it was the cache.
After i logged and walked back, i saw a woman sitting in a car and looking at me.
I hope she didn't watched me searching.
Thanks for the last cache of the day.

Out with alpenmilch80 and TheMexican for a few Sunday afternoon caches and stopped in here. Nice and quiet and no dramas making the find before heading off again. TFTC
After yesterday’s heavy thunderstorms I met up today with TheMexican and evilno9 for some dry geocaching in the area. Found the geocache easy at GZ and signed as "Team Birdy". TFTC
Have been here before but didn't find it. Saw that it was recently fixed and found, so revisited this afternoon. Found it after a few minutes, and now see what the cache title means. Signed just initials as requested, then had a wee problem trying to get the wee log back into the wee container, but its all back and rehidden again now. No problem with the roses this time. Very glad to get this smilie, it is very close to home. And this one brings up my 50. TFTC
Out in the Eastern Suburbs again this weekend with Merlot58 and Aiden29. A return visit to this cache and finally we have it found
Once again I was out in East Auckland with Jag50 and Aiden29 collecting more caches. Thanks for replacing this cache. After stopping to get an icecream we wandered over and soon found the replacement. Thankfully we weren't fooled by the cache guardian.
Out this way with Merlot58 and Jag50. Having seen that this was replaced we headed over to search with our ice-cream. Didn't take too long before Mrs Jag had the cache in hand.
Luckily found a spare container so cache now back up and running. Haved moved it a couple of meters from the original position so hopefully less interference from the roses.
will check on cache as soon as I can. May need a couple of weeks if container has gone walkies
Adding our names to the dnfs. We had a good look but maybe the CO needs to check this one
We didn't have any luck locating this one today and then the search was hindered by muggles and their dogs so we left.
Had a good search around for this cache, but no luck today. GEOphone swinging round, making difficult to find GZ. Hope next person finds in GC.
Couldn't find today, had a fair idea about what this might be and looked in a lot of hiding spots but eluded us - maybe we were over thinking it but could not find in any case.
Had to trek through rose bushes and the GPS couldn't decide which way to take us.
Mr 7 found this one today while spending the afternoon cache hunting with his Poppa. TFTC
First cache in ages!! Master 5 found this one without gps which bounced everywhere!
Ha ha ! Thanks Switchy!
Dear little cache.....
The guardian is not doing his job....two huge cockies jumped out to say hi !

First time we found it we forgot a pen! Came back to sign it off properly. Good cache!
Great title.
What a truly delightful reserve. I can just imagine concerts and picnics here.
Having a great day exploring Howick.

Nice quick find in a part of Auckland we have never really visited before. Lovely little park. A very old English feel about Howick township. TFTC
A beautiful ANZAC Day afternoon in Howick. This park is a hidden gem we didn't know existed TFTC
Third time lucky and we found this one!! Had to phone a friend to check we were in the right direction. GPS put us way off the other times. Cute little rat!
Back again, this time determined to find the little so and so.
Looking back on it and the description and hint, there was only one general area that this cache could be hidden, and of course it was. We obviously didn't search hard enough in our previous attempts. Oh well. These things happen. Anyway...
We arrive at the reserve ready to find this cache. We knew the general area to rummage around in, and it seems that the rose bushes had been growing since we were last here (Note to self: Add gardening gloves to geo-kit.) Anyway, after the GPS on the phones bouncing around a wee bit, we zeroed in on the general vicinity of GZ and started searching. As it turned out, we were looking in all the wrong places, again, and decided to PAF. That confirmed that we were looking in right area and the kind of container we were looking for. Less than a minute later and the cache was in hand.
The log was duly signed and the cache replaced from whence it came. TFTC.

Was in Howick for the one-off screening of a Queen concert at Monterey and wandered around caching Howick to fill in time til it started. Another nice quiet wee spot although I am not a fan of rose thorns. The clue pointed me to where I should find it and there it was. TFTC
I had found the previous cache here which was an almost identical hide, so no worries. Thanks.
Not too scary but the rose thorns were out in force. - They small great though.
From a PF's log, I was looking for a nano. I looked for places that fit the hint, but there didn't seem to be much around here. All the while, there were two groups of two people with a good view to my location, so I had to pause between searches to make sure I didn't look too obvious. I finally spotted something that fit the hint and provided a place for a cache to hide and voilà. TFTC.
Nice hide. Though I had a bit of trouble fitting the log into the cache. It was a pain in the neck.
Found with my Mum, NewlynFam. Have now created my own account so am logging all finds I was present at and helped with.
I didn't like the thorny rose bushes, so mum retrieved this one!

Visited this cache with my youth group this evening, during our geocaching evening. Log was signed by up to 5 groups as "ECK ________" (colour: pink, green, red, orange and yellow)- the colour of their small group. Thanks for this cache switchy.... we had a great night!!!
A friend asked if we could help her show her youth group what geocaching is all about. So Mr HeMaLuDy took Purply over to the required meeting point where we joined with four other geo-buddies to help out. What followed was a fun night, some new converts to caching and 4 more caches for us. TFTC
Out and about today doing a bit of caching with mini NewlynFam, cleaning up some of our unfound caches in the local area. Walked down from Stockade Hill to this one.
A nice quick find at GZ- mini was not too keen to look for this, but it was in the first place I looked. Luckily the rose bushes had been pruned recently, so I didn't have to battle with thorns! Muggles appeared just as we were finishing signing the log, but luckily they turned their backs and headed for a picnic spot up the hill, so we were able to quickly swoop in and replace the cache unseen.
TFTC!

Nice little park (I think) a bit unusual. Cache found once I kicked the muggles outta there. Cool evening and things are going swellingly well!
Lovely spot this, so quiet and tranquil. Nice quick find once we arrived at GZ. TFTC
Cunning hide and now I understand the name. Good to have a dry log of this type for a change. Thanks switchy.
After attending the nearby Geocachers Anonymous Meeting, headed further east to see what we could find. Had looked, unsuccessfully, when son suggested another spot. Bingo, found it! TFTC
I had a few errands to do in Hawick so thought I'd quickly pick up this cache on the way TFTC!
Been here before for a cache and nice to see another one back here. Took a few minutes to locate, those rose bushes are rather prickly! Soon had the log in hand, TFTC!
Chuffed to find this one, especially as before putting our hands on it we found another cache, a magnetic pill tube approx 13m away in the other corner complete with a replacement log that hasn't be found since March 2012! (GC2PDKQ by Avoyager)
The actual cache was much better though! Great way to finish for the day. TFTC.

Nice hide. A little away from where the GPS suggested but careful exploration came up with the goods. TFTC!!!!
A quick find with Metzgan this morning to help fill in a dot day on our calendar matrix. Carefully avoided the rose thorns. Never really noticed this little park before! Thanks for the hide.
I tired yesterday but muggles were enjoying the park, so I came back early Sunday morning. A nice hide. Thanks
Out and about after work this afternoon for a spot of caching on the way home this afternoon. A bit tricky to find a park around here. Anyway, I remember finding an AV cache here a few years back. Made my way to GZ through the manicured park. GPSr pointed at one spot, but no good. Expanded the search area, then followed the GPSr to a new spot and made the find this time. Cheers for the cache placement!
Checked today and saw a few new ones have popped up around howick - this one was nice and close so we decided to grab a bit of fresh air and go find it - tftc
Quick find in a local park . Just the ticket on a cooling avo. Tftc

Had been to dawn parade and walking back to the car. Bumped into the only two previous cachers who had signed this log.
Walled to GZ and even with all the people leaving dawn parade was able to make a quick easy find.

Out for an early walk heading into Howick so grabbed this cache en route. Checked 2 spots before bingo. Thankfully not too scary.... TFTC
DNF GPS put us into middle of rose bushes, not keen on getting thorns in my hands.
