Just down the road from my friends house. Walked down and made a quick find. Nice sneaky spot. TftcAnts have made a home in the cache.
TFTC. Nice and easy to spot on parking. Well built and clever design. All good here.
I had previously found this cache on 20/02/2016 with Glen Eden Guides however upon getting to GZ realised I obviously hadn't logged it as I had just started geocaching so it was a quick find at GZ once I got a 'leg up'.Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi however a FTF popped up this morning at the Cascades so we have made a detour on our travels. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC. What a great way to spend a sunny summers day.
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Yesterdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Today it was going to be Titirangi but on spotting a new cache publication our plans changed and we headed straight to the Waitakeries. We had to change our route on the way back as part of Scenic Drive Road to the Arataki visitors Centre was closed to non residents. We ended up finishing our day caching in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. A quick find here as Yvettetb had done this one before. A cool idea for a hide. Thanks for the cache
Felt like I was really on a roll with your caches today Lokky! Awesome little trick. TFTC
Keylev and I were on a mission to really crank up the numbers today. So better get to it!
Keylev spotted this quickly. TFTC

As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! This is day 3 so by now the early work starts so that we could finish early and have more afternoon caching time was kicking in but we were not going to let that stop us. Unfortunately both of the NZTs had to pull out of the adventures so it meant only B4Dawn and I were on the caching hunt tonight.
As no one came out I presume we were stealthy enough not to attract attention . Pulled up next to GZ and as B4Dawn walked one way I pointed to where it was and woop woop log was soon in hand.
Thanks for the cache.

I found this cache some time ago but I`m logging it today for my own record.

P.S. Great hide in the neighbourhood!

Checked all good as I dont live here anymore please be discreet Lokky1 February 26, 2020 12:50
I arrived at GZ and saw that this was definitely not one that my greyhound would be able to get to so a solo effort it would be. I decided to survey the area from the footpath to see if I could spot anything that would be a good place to start and was fortunate to see something that looked slightly out of place.
Went to the corner and hauled myself up and scurried along to the spot I had identified and was relieved to discover that it was, indeed, the cache. A little jiggery pokery and I had the cache in hand. Nice work on this one thanks. Everything fine here thanks. Thanks for the cache, all good here.

This one was a good camo. Hoped quickly up and got it. Tftc says Mafrika from Germany
I thought I had spotted this from the footpath, but with no one with me to get a boost up, I had to make a different approach. A fun cache with great camo, FP added, cheers
Parked pretty close to GZ but then took a nice safe route to get closer. Urbangypsy had spotted the cache by the time I got there so the retrieval was made and replaced with care. TFTC
The hardest part of this cache was getting up to it, Tracey did the honours. Nice hide.
Today I had a bit of time between work commitments and heading to the airport and home, so I decided to head westish to find a few caches out this way. Nice one! I spotted what I thought might be the cache from below then got to the right level and made my way carefully to GZ. Yes! All good here. Pulled the cache from it's niche and found a wee lizard had taken up residence behind the container. Lol! I gently replace the cache so as not to squish the critter. FP for the creature bonus. TFTC, Biggles.
After my Training I had still some time so I used the rain break to drive to Grey Linn and grab some Geocaches.
I thought I felt something under/behind the fence but I couldn't get it. Might have been not the Cache...
Thanks for hiding!

12.20pm - This weekend was to complete the Planetary souvenir challenge.
We had not really done anything towards this but after reading the requirements realised puzzle caches with lots of favourites was the way to go.
Quick plan devised route plotted and we hit the road.
We also collected any traditional caches that we came upon as we went.
Some puzzles hadn't being done for some time but apart from a couple of DNF'S the required telly reached.
Thanks for all the caches on the way and the Indiana Jard puzzle series difenetly gets fav"s from me. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We head into the final weekend of Planetary Pursuit with about 20 points. It's going to be the 'Charge of the Late Brigade' to get the required numbers to gain all of the souvenirs...
We were abundantly aware that puzzles carried the maximum amount of points for the souvenir challenge. So we came to Auckland armed with as many puzzle solves as we could manage... We spotted this interesting hide and knew we had to take a look. That was a challenging retaining wall at ground zone! We entertained dreams of springing up and over, but that's as far as we got. Let's take the more sedate entrance... A fantastic hide for this location. TFTC.

I was in the area with Aiden29 to clear up a few more of the caches around here. I've visited this cache before but was on my own and felt very exposed as the neighbours were outside so didn't attempt it. It's amazing how much more invisible you are when there is more than one of you! There was a muggle sitting in a car nearby, so we initially spied the cache from below and then decided to quickly go high and grab it. Of course the neighbours across the road then decided to come outside but I guess they are use to seeing people clambering around your fence line. Thanks Lokky, nice to finally get the smiley on this one.
Heading out to Green Bay with merlot58 and finding a few caches along the way. Merlot wanted to try this one with reinforcements. There was a muggle in his car across from GZ, so we walked along until we spied the cache, and then the guy wasn't looking so we quickly clambered up to locate the cache.
I jumped up but it was hayleyfcy who spotted it from the sidewalk. Thanks for the instructions on putting it back
Kind of a fun one. I made the failed attempt to get to the right level so sent Michaelteacher instead. Turns out it was easier to spot the cache from where I was. Hopefully CO and neighbours didn't see or hear us. Haha. Tftc
Had to run errand for Mrs B out this way this morning so had an opportunity to grab a few caches in the area. When I turned into the street I immediately knew where it would be and sure enough found the right spot; nice hide and all in good condition. TFTC.
Finally - After many drive by's in the morning on the way to work, Tonight was the night. Had to head out for a while to run some errands. Had some time to stop off to attempt this. Had to be super stealthy as the house across the street had a lot of activity this evening. Not sure how well I signed the log in the dark Glad to finally tick this off. TFTC
Had a very brief shot at looking for it. I lifted my 5 y/o up but he didn't know what to look for. Then the sky opened up. Will be back first thing in the morning
Got it! My 5 y/o wasn't strong enough to move it, so dad did his thing. it was pitch black so no sure if I put it back exactly right! Apologies. But thanks for the cache
Biggest issue I had here was a fat old bloke like me trying to get up the bank. Then I saw the easy, longer way and took that route. Thanks.
Wandered backwards and forwards. Then read some logs, and it dawned on me. Seen these ones before. Nice hide.
ok so I knew this was here but couldn't do it because I was not premium, but now I am a quick run around the fence to see if I could see it, and yes spotted after a min of looking nicely done tftc
This cache has been taunting me for a while now. It's the closest to my house that I haven't yet found, so this morning when I discovered that finding it would let me score one of the new souvenirs I had to get it done. I had stopped by previously but a neighbour landscaping across the street prevented me from conducting a search. Early this Sunday morning, however, I had no problems. Nicely done hide! TFTC!
Mwah now it's TheMenzies revenge as we have finally got a smiley here after a dnf last time. Not sure how we missed it last time - found it in seconds this time as I saw the thing that was out of place.
What better place to leave the trackable "Erbaiwu" (which aims to focus on your dnfs) than in the cache that we had a dnf on last time we were here. TFTC

Our first dnf of the morning. Boosted us all up and even boosted up my daughter at gz incase it was over there but no luck. Felt weird being up there even though I know it's your place. Will try again another day. TFTH
Out here today doing some local caches and figured I'd give this one a bash. Used to deliver many a Western Leader on this street back in the day but that was of no help to me when it came to find the cache. Jumped up and had a quick look around before finding what I was looking for. Nicely done as usual - TFTC
Made presence known even before thinking about the cache as the hub cap came off the car rounding the corner, making a spectacular noise as it hit the drain and then bounced. All this was witnessed by a council drainage (?) worker who ran after me to return the offending item! Very kind of him Now to wait for the workers to start working..... Time to climb and seek out the cache. Thankfully it all came together quickly. Log signed and replaced without any further drama. TFTC
Fantastic! The girls loved it! What a great cache! Thanks for the extra effort that went into this one :]
Underestimated my own middle-age agility and managed to get to gz from the path unaided!
Love the disguise - thanks for the work building this - tftc

Joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 this afternoon to find a few Westie caches to kill some time. Quickly spotted the cache, got a boost up from YK83 and signed the log. A nice hide - fav point added! TFTC!
Vistra text me and said he was going out to grab a handful of of caches, I asked for him to swing by and pick me up on route and I would join him, so we decided to grab some pretty close to home.
Quickly spotted the cache on approach, gave Vistra the boost needed to reach it, and signed the log. TFTC

#1601. Out doing an early morning round of geocaching before the family headed off to St Lukes to watch some movies. A lovely wet day for our summer holidays in Auckland. Perfect for some geocaching. Spied the CO's home as I pulled up. No one about so was able to scan the likely GZ from the path and soon saw a potential hiding spot. Then it was a case of putting the jumping skills into action and a scramble up to the cache. The object of interest was a bit stubborn to budge but soon had the cache revealed. I had remembered to bring a pen up with me. Signed the logbook and replaced everything as found. Thanks for the cache lokky1.

Ha, a good one! Took me some time to notice that something is not right at that spot.
But seemed that no one is home, if someone were, they would definitely noticed the yellow bicycle helmet, hovering just behind and above the fence, sliding back and forth along it
Thanks for the cache! +fav

#335 I have visited this one previously late at night with no success. Today I tried this one again. Went back and forth over GZ a couple of times. Then got down a sat back and looked. ahhhh, Very cunning hide. Like it enough for a Fav point.

Saw it straight away from the footpath but was wondering how to approach it without attracting attention. Noone seemed to be around so I just went for the straightforward quick climb and sign technique. TFTC!
after the DOC one, we thought to give a second try on this. found it after a few minutes of search. really loved the hide and slightly disappointed not meeting you. tftc and one fav from us.
Was in the area for work and had some spare time. So decided to get a few caches.
Approached this one and thought....MMMMMMM. Took a walk around and checked the area. Decided to approach via neighbours driveway....hope they didn't see me :-p
Once on higher ground cache was soon in hand.
Gets a fav point from me

As promised by the CO I got muggled by him. Was just done with the replacing of the container when I saw him smiling upon me. Great to see you again and well done on this one. TFTC
Out and about for a spot of geocaching in the rain today. I parked up close by and soon gave my self a leg up. Missed the cache on the first pass but was quickly onto it on the second. This is certainly the best version of this type of hide I have so far come across. Nicely done. Cheers for the cache placement!
I don't think you were home - Mr P did the climb I did the pointing and we were done and dusted within seconds. T4tc (Nice hide)
This was a neat hide. I was able to find this easily due to finding one similar earlier in the year. my pen was not working so i had to return back to the cache later to write in the log.
Oooh crafty! Think this would have taken me much longer if we hadn't done a similar one very recently! Gets a fave TFTC

I saw something that was not quite right, but dismissed it because it seemed well connected. After completing a fine-toothed comb search, I returned and managed to get to the cache. TFTC.
Found this morning after a challenging little search. Very clever construction and placement, and a number of different viewpoints had to be taken to appreciate caches location. Also had interesting chat with local sickness benificary hanging over fence.........get back to work Andy...
cheers V.

Wow, A cache in the Street where I grew up !! Arrived just as it started raining this afternoon, but soon spotted a likely hide, so gave Master 10 a leg up & made the grab.
This Street - Armstrong Place is named after my Grandparents who owned the surrounding land. Thanks for this blast from my past !!

The word was out that there was a new cache nearby. Really close. Despite this, in the short time it took us to get ready and get there and we found that Flax4, Rustynz, and Rebel98 were already there but the cache not found, yet. Leapt up on the bank and joined the hunt. With the amount of human resource and candle power cutting the darkness there was no way this cache was not going to be discovered. Quite soon thereafter the cache was located. Was fun to have a joined up FTF under the watchful eye of Lokky and locate this with the others some of whom we had met for the first time at last weeks Auckland Monthly catch-up.
This was a great adventure saw it come live and even had a strange man look over the fence. Great to meet other cachers out and about tonight but no coffee was had, for this cache but a lot of fun. TFTC
I missed the notification while getting ready for work. I checked my phone just before leaving and saw them! Just enough time to grab them on my way! I knew I had missed the ftf.!!! 8th I think! Good to catch up with you! Nice Camo! Tftc
Warwick wanted us to watch the final of The Bachelor ! So I knew we wouldn't be first !
Was still a fun adventure ....Chatted to Lokky over the fence and met 10centnz for the first time !
Thanks for some new local ones . Well done on the camo !

Dragged out into the night, however, there were others at GZ. and the cache was found after a short search. Tftc.
The alert came in and I couldn't get away fast enough, Master10 and myself zoomed off hoping for a possible FTF? Got to high ground and just about to search when Rebel98 and Jag50 appeared followed by rustynz. Next thing we were all being spied upon from over the fence, Lokky himself chuckling away. I had another look under torch light and I had cache discovered. Tftc Lokky, joint FTF
A new cache out west, this one, so jumped in the car and headed off. Almost there, and another new one popped up so made a strategic decision to go for what would be guaranteed a solo FTF and it was. After that one, shot back here only to find I could have had both FTFs. This one was found immediately I got to GZ and then Lokky popped his head over the fence for a chat (apparently the others had taken a while to spot it, I was informed [})]). Rebel and rusty returned and for a chat and we were soon joined by Gorby and kiwicouple. Gorby and I then decided to head off for another possible FTF on the shore. A very nice hide here. TFTC!!!
One of us was out shopping when this cache was published and arrived home to be sent back out to find our daily cache. Didn't think there was much chance of being first there, and sure enough arrived to find a FTF party in full swing. There was even a neighbour leaning over a fence complaining about the noise.
A very nice hide - thanks LOKKY.
A very nice hide - thanks LOKKY.
We were all settled in for the night, when rebel98 spots a cache has been published only a few km's from home. Its operation scramble to get out the door, quick, quick, FMZ and Gorby will be already at GZ, and we will be still putting on our shoes
On arrival Flax4 is already here looking for the cache, and whilst I get a boost to get up the steep part, jag50 arrives to join in the search, lovely to meet you all. Whilst we search Lokky is looking over the fence at us, no pressure and I am sure he is getting a lot of amusement from it all! So the six of us are spread along the fence line looking for treasure. The neighbours must have wondered what all the activity was, and what was going on?
A fun joint FTF, Flax4 had hands on, then whilst we were chatting the next alert came through for another new cache, we all race to the next hide http://coord.info/GC5TPCZ.
On our drive home, we passed by the top of the street, so we had to pull in to see who might be searching, hello FMZ! whilst chatting Gorby and kiwicouple arrived, this turned out to be a very popular cache tonight. Thanks for the hide and the adventure.

I was slack getting out the door, was logging up caches from the weekend then this cache came out, still sat in my chair then lokky's other one came out. Ok I'll give a go. Then I put in one incorrect number into the GPS and ended going South Titirangi rd. I realised I stuffed it up and here to GZ and I thought there was a party about to start! YAAH another rave but at lokky's place, rustynz was here, Rebel98 and FMZ all yakking with our C.O watching over the proceedings from his fence. Then we were joined by Mr kiwicouple and Ric1942 and supernanny. Awesome night. Then I ahhed and ummed with FMZ. Should we go to the other new cache - up at Kaukapakapa, yea why not so we left the party and carried on. Thanks to all who came out tonight, that was a lot of fun. It certainly beats going for a ftf on your own!!
