Another day of adventure with doddlingalong. A bit chilly but so good to be out of the city. Thought we would give this collection a start and see how many we can collect. TFTC
Logged as KASA24 as kangas11 and I both had a huge day today caching together at Mt Disappointment and writing our team name instead of both our caching usernames saved us time. I did the driving while kangas11 did the finding & writing in the logbooks. Tomorrow back to Mt Disappointment for more and well be swapping our roles. TFTC Carkisser!
Accompanied with theashleys7 for caching day at Mt Disappointment. We enjoyed our journey to find the caches and some DNFs. Weather was freezing in the morning and nice in the afternoon. Found it and logged as KASA24 as a team. Thanks carkisser and JSando for placing the cache
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 41/74, Saturday. Today, I decided to do some trail caching and headed to the Mount Disappointment area. I searched quite a big number of caches today. Some of them I simply skipped, due to various reasons: there were some DNF's and I could not be bothered - the place was too "bushy" or otherwise unpleasant, or I did not find the cache in less than a minute (which was my limit for patience today). I knew I would only get a fraction of the caches anyway, so it made no sense to try to get each and every one of them systematically. So, I was a bit lazy. Most of the caches today were found very quickly and I had a lot of fun. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
OzHockeyChick was in need of some caches so we found ourselves on an afternoon adventure in Mt Disappointment.I have found bits and pieces of this trail, however today was a chance to make a solid dint in the series. Unless noted, the cache was found in reasonable order. Thanks carkisser for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Are you ready to nominate in the 2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards? Teamed up with RoamingHowie to smash out a few more of the Dissa series. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, carkisser ~~
Found a bunch of these while causing some backroads back towards Melbourne. Even spotted some kangaroos!
Find#6087Nice hiding place Found with the adventure boys during the Whittlesea mega 2022Thanks for the cache
A trip to this region of the Australia was planned. In order to search and find a few caches here, various caches were dragged onto the Garmin. When we got here we saw a nice power trail. Without further ado, we organized various groceries to make ends meet. Filled up the rental car again and off we went. Our 4 WD-Truck is ready for this trip! After some time of starting this challenge, we came across here as well. We had to search a little longer for one or the other cache. Thanks to the owner for laying, caring for and guiding. TFTCKind regards from Germany
After a planned Saturday of geocaching around Lancefeild and sourounds, we found ourselves finishing up the day in Wallan. As a joke, I said to Mrs 4wd that we should just go to Dissa and camp the night and smash out the few caches we had DNFs on the power trail that had since been replaced.
Next minute, we were off into the bush and set up camp at Campsite #1 ahh the freedom of a rooftop tent and having the 4wd set up for such spontaneous decisions.. Caching is way more fun than the day I had planned to catch up at work.
I'm happy to have finished off this series

I accidentally drove past this one but soon realized the error and backtracked to complete the find.
Twas the night before mega
With dark night and cold air
Off we go caching
late nights do not scare.
Kangaroos are of plenty
Five wombats we did see
How many caches will we get?
One? Maybe two or three.
Great company with Dromaniax,
Lucky we had a stamp
Plenty of caches were found here
Some good, some old, some damp.
Thank you

The goal was 400 in a day—a pretty big task. But with Mt Disappointment and the Power Trail, it was a possibility. We started strong and hoped to find a high percentage of this excellent series. Unfortunately, it was a Mountain of Disappointment as the geomobile did not appreciate idling and travelling at very low speed as much as we did. It let us know the gearbox was not happy, so we had to pull the pin after 130 finds.
We did have the pleasure of seeing a range of Australian wildlife, one roo, several wallabies and four wombats, which it pretty cool.
We apologise for the generic log, as we prefer not to write them. We have some time pressures and cannot write 130 different logs.
All caches were found in excellent t condition unless otherwise noted.
Thank you, carkisser & JSando, for this long series of Traditional caches. We will be back to finish the series in the future.

Spending the day grabbing the rest of these Mt Disa caches, quick grab here. TFTC
I have been intending to have a go at finding the caches on this iconic geocaching route for a while now. Today was the day, well to make a start anyway .. generally the coords and hints were spot on, unfortunately a small number of the caches we found were a bit damp but I still managed to make my mark…next time I will bring spares. We were surprised with the amount of people here, dirt bike riders, shooters 4WDers and campers… and of course geocachers. A few caches we had to give a miss due to muggle activity but got them on the way back. Apologies in advance for the generic logs! Thanks to carkisser and JSando for the series .. I can’t imagine how much work was put into the series .. much appreciated! We will be back to get the rest.. but maybe not on Easter weekend
TFTC, out today as the first day back in regional vic.. tis series has been on my radar for along while and now out this weekend camping and enjoying the beauty of Mt Disappointment.
A really good series. Aiming to get our 200+ in a day and hit #2000 soon.

Great day out with Bogonghazy on our way to Mansfield. Goal was to find 200 caches and we did.
Beautiful day and thank you for placing the caches. Will be back to finish them off.

Nice sunny weather and surely it can’t last So headed back into the forest from a different direction. Fab fun exploring this territory and a relaxing caching day. Shared the trails with dirt bikes, domestic loggers, and sightseers.
I wasn’t looking for huge numbers ‘tho the finds started to pile up after lunch. Having said that, a couple of sneaky hides had me spinning in circles As I’ve said before about this PT, the hides are consistent, good coords and hints Rounded out the day with a visit to Broadford to give the car a hose down before returning to Yea. I should sleep well tonight.
Not to get logging as keen to see what’s left on the map

pay daughter had her first experience with leeches. Had to stop and get them off our legs. Only a few more caches for the day.
Some curious and hungry looking bull ants were in the area as we signed the log quickly and moved on! TFTC
Finally, a weekend with no kids and (momentarily) lifted ISO restrictions. We’ve known about this epic series since we started caching a few years ago but have never made the trek from South Gippsland. We started on Saturday 20th at about 11.30am and cached steadily until dark, which was pretty early given it was Winter Solstice. The campsites were all full with dirt bikers, so we found a quiet spot in the bush to camp. A wet night ensured followed by an early start and we got back to the caches again. We only had until mid morning, but over the two days we found a total of approx 152 caches.
Apologies in advance for the generic logs! There were only a few DNF’s and we’ll log those separately. Caches were otherwise in excellent condition and the coords and hints were spot on.
Thanks so much to carkisser and JSando for this extraordinary series! We applaud the effort that you have put into placing and maintaining these caches We look forward to coming back and finding the rest
Back out on the mountain with +Wife and our Geo Mutts, Eve The Staffy and Max The Collie. Fantastic caching weather on a public holiday. Still on the dirt road. Windows up, aircon on in an attempt to keep the dust level down inside the car. A quick and easy park and grab, thanks to accurate coordinates and a clear hint. A nice variety of flora and fauna was seen and heard today. The Pink Heath was in full bloom. A pair of Red Tailed Black Cockatoos cruised by overhead.
Lots of lizards and geckos out basking in the sunshine, but we were quite pleased that we didn't see any snakes today. [^]
We are on the back straight now. Standing up in the stirrups. Racing towards the finish line. Our goal of fifty finds is well in sight. Thank you for the caches carkisser & JSando.

With permission of the team member who was in the local hospital we decided on a day our this time with a goal of collecting 150 finds for the day which will if achieved will be our best caching day and after spending the day collecting cache after cache we ended with 151 finds and 3 DNFs so it was a rely good outing today.
Sorry it is copy and paste logs most were nice quick finds some proved a little more difficult however most we very easy finds and some require a little attention from the owner for wet logs with it being a good day as it was cool to start and didn't get over hot during the day we managed to make the goal of 150 finds with 1 extra just to be sure.
Thanks carkisser & JSando for placing this series for us to make such an assault to collect so many caches on one day.

This series was on the cards today, most of the caches I did were all in good condition, unfortunately it seems some of the cache sbetween 45-69 are missing due to widening of the road were I had quite a few DNFs.
Caches between 184-191 need replacing as they are all wet.
Cache from 180-140 are in great condition and were all quickly located.
Overall I had a good trip and a good few hours out finding these
Today was a big day out, well it felt like it anyway. With the rain coming out of the clouds early I was unsure if my plan would be put to action. After hosting an event in the morning the skies seemed to clear so off I went in search of some Mount Disappointment caches. After finding just over 100 of them I decided to pull the pin and head back to Melbourne to do some more interesting caches. Some multis were on the cards and some finals were located but due to the amount of high muggles frequency due to this so called thing of “school holidays”, I had to leave the caches. Finished off the day with an event near Marvel stadium and on the Spirit to Tasmania.
A great day out with 118 finds. A good few days in vic finished off.
Thanks for the cache

Mission also accomplished and another string of Dads lessons completed but it did take a few hours so looking forward to a G&T and kicking back. All containers in good condition with just a couple a tad damp. Happy and glad to be doing these before Joe Blakes get too active not that I mind the handsome reptiles from afar. TFTC and the drive- be back again when I’ve recovered from this lot!
After a lot of planning over the last few months, the day had finally come to get stuck into this series. I followed the route I had worked out without being sidetracked and everything went pretty much as I had hoped. I made my first find at 7:10am and the last for the day at 6:15pm. By 7 o’clock I was sitting in the Red Lion in Kilmore enjoying a cold beer and thinking back over a most enjoyable day. There was of course the odd DNF along the way as well. The weather was kind to me which helped a lot as well. A big thanks to carkisser & JSando for placing this and maintain this series. Cheers and TFTC
2 day caching trip with Sioux & Leesa we have stamped log with our Geo Nerds stamp for Bounty Trackers, Borisb&natasha & Gonefishen.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Found with BorisB&Natasha and Bounty Trackers. We signed the log with our stamp Geo Nerds.
On a fun weekend with these two doing as many of these caches as we can while here. TFTC we had a great time. Stayed at Flowerdale pub overnight back for some more fun today.

A cool start to the day up here in the hills
But it should be sunny and warm up later.
Perfect for taking this trail of caches to the top
Next stop here,
cache found there
Though some of these findings are tricky

This was subsequent find for the day on the actual Dad's Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson series which Geowife and myself decided to attack today in the hope of achieving 100 plus finds in a day (which was achieved. And this one was picked up from where we left off last year with the only DNF in our run on these new caches in the series been #115 Anyway after a quick park and grab on this one we started the series in earnest at this point and had a productive day in the end finding around 105 plus caches for the day. TFTC.
If there is a complaint that I have about this series it would be that some people do not replace the caches in the correct place as per GZ co-ordinates and some caches that we found today were up to 10 metres away from the GZ, not covered over or left out in the open. Other cache logs were so wet that the logs could not be signed and a sheet of dry paper was added to these ones. The caches that had water in them were emptied of water and resealed.
And to carkisser and JSando, thank you for this great series and the huge amount of work that the both you and your team of helpers thank you for making keeping this series in operation.
Due to the high number of logs to be completed a generic log has been generated for all/most logs.
Great day out with Team Justice, successfully completing this wonderful series in a day. The challenge has appealed to us for a long time, and it was incredibly satisfying to be able to complete it. Throughout the day we often marveled at the size and quantity of the containers you must have had at home in order to lay these out. Thanks so much carkisser for this astonishingly ambitious and well executed series. We loved it!
A plan was hatched with Clint & Abby over 12 months ago when we saw these caches come out over time. We could get 100, nah, let’s get them all and soon after a few drinks we decided to attempt the lot in 1 day. Time passed and somehow we found ourselves talking about it at a recent event (yes, and more drinks). Let’s do it after Christmas, ok. So, we meet in Wallan at 6am to begin the long day.
We had a few ideas to speed up our caching given we were trying to find 300+ caches in a day and that our previous record was about 60 in a day so this was going to be tough. We put the GPS and pens on lanyards do we could keep our hands few when getting the cache and didn’t have to pick up or get things out of our pockets. We did shifts of 1 hour, so one person did the driving, ate, re-hydrated and relaxed, while the other cached for the hour. The driver also provided the clue up front between caches as the cacher counted the distance down to the cache.
Now to the clues. Tree, stump, log, rock! We were getting a good chuckle over the clues, ‘beside tree’, we are in a forest! We found some of the ‘logs’ were not yet logs (i.e. trees), but they were close most of the time. We thought there might be some sort of random clue generator sometimes.
To the numbers. 330 caches attempted in 10 hours and 22 minutes. We had 7 DNFs and a total of 323 finds. This meant an average find time (including DNFs) of 1 minute, 53 seconds. We were quite amazed at the speed we could go and how quick you could find, sign and move on. It also comes down to the great containers laid out by carkisser for this power trail. Nice and large, and easy to find and extract the logs. We only came across one Eclipse time late in the day. Our biggest hour of finds was our 5th hour of 42 finds. This averaged out at 1 minute and 25 seconds per cache.
Overall, we had a great time as it was a challenge to push ourselves to get all these caches. We loved the layout and the effort to place all these caches. Thanks so much to carkisser for the caches.

Over for Parkville Event started early this Morning after I landed in Melbourne, with Becknmonts and Loulou0212 we saw some beautiful scenery, great fun completing this series in 1 day
I'm in Melbourne for a few day's with Horsesrule1990, heading to the event and to pick up as many caches as possible. Once the Melbourne Mega raps up we will head to the Gold Coast , for a few day hitting all the fun parks. Then heading back to Western Australia, and back to Work. Would like to thank everyone for there caches and there efforts hiding then for us to find.all Tftc.
After Becknmonts and I picked gabs1963 up from the airport we headed out to start our day, a beautiful quick stop at Melbourne’s first before we headed to start this trail, thanks so much for putting theses caches out, I really enjoyed them - definitely a first for me getting my geo car off the road and on some dirt - TFTC carkisser
I had a great day out today after LouLou0212 and myself picked Gabs1963 up for the airport. We headed to “Melbourne’s First” and then onto this trail as Gabs1963 has cached our her 450km radius, so she wanted some “easy numbers”. Thanks so much for placing this trail carkisser
16/11/2018 I needed some numbers to get my milestone of 21000 finds so headed out to Mt Disappointment to grab 100 or so of the power trail caches. Only a few DNF's thanks to tree fellers and dozers. TFTC.
We arrived in the area with a particular plan and that was to do the Dad's Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson trail. All caches were found or replaced (with the permission of the owner) Some still need the logs replaced but we ran out of supplies.
This trail was done with Hans and Linda, the jumping in and out of the car was shared, the driving was shared, lunch was had on the trail where ever we found a place that appealed to us.
Some shots were fired near one of the caches which startled the crap out of us. We did not think that you were allowed to shoot here. The roads were a mixture of good, bad and ugly. Thankfully it was dry it did try very hard to rain but all we saw was not enough to wet the car or us.
We apologise for the generic logs, this does not mean we thought any less of this series. We appreciate the effort that has gone into placing this trail and maintaining it, this is why we were more than happy to help with some maintenance.

TFTC. Our friends Jackie and Dennis (Muff1)had invited us to join them in making an assault on Mt Disappointment. We drove up on Sunday to Kilmore to join them. After putting a dent in the Mt Disappointment trail yesterday, our aim today was to finish the trail. We had an added incentive. We were close to 5000 finds and there was the pooibility we could track 200 finds for the day. The weather forecast did not look great but the weatherman was wrong . Muff1 had spoken to the CO and made arrangements to replace any caches that were missing. They will contact they CO with details of any issues we found along the way. We had a great time . We replaced 7 missing caches. We had never visited this area before and the trail gave us an appreciation of the area. Thank you carkisser & JSando for a great series.
AndyB84 and myself had plans to hit the Mt Disappointment trail and today that plan was realised.
We Arrived at the first cache around 9:45am and called it a day at 4:45pm before making one final sneaky find at the servo on the way home.
I had no idea what to expect in terms of numbers. My biggest day previously was 55 so I wanted to beat that. The next goal was 120 and looking bigger was 150.
We eventually ended on 129 finds for the day, doubling AndyB84's found count in a single day.
Pretty stoked with the effort. We cracked a cold one each on number 101 for the day.
Most caches were found easily with good coordinates. Some had wet logs, one was missing a lid and there were a few DNF's near the start of the trail as well.
The road was well maintained, we brought AndyB84's ute but my Magna would have been fine on these roads.
We signed most of the logs as A & K to save time.
Thanks for the caches

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe

Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
We Arrived at the first cache around 9:45am and called it a day at 4:45pm before making one final sneaky find at the servo on the way home.
I had no idea what to expect in terms of numbers. My biggest day previously was 55 so I wanted to beat that. The next goal was 120 and looking bigger was 150.
We eventually ended on 129 finds for the day, doubling AndyB84's found count in a single day.
Pretty stoked with the effort. We cracked a cold one each on number 101 for the day.
Most caches were found easily with good coordinates. Some had wet logs, one was missing a lid and there were a few DNF's near the start of the trail as well.
The road was well maintained, we brought AndyB84's ute but my Magna would have been fine on these roads.
We signed most of the logs as A & K to save time.
Thanks for the caches

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy
Wow! What a day. KmanNZ and I were out to find big numbers, however I never thought I would double all my previous finds.
WE got to the first cache at around 945am and kept going through to 345pm when the rain finally hit. All in all, we managed to find 127 along this trail and grabbed a quick one on the way home at the service center.
We signed the caches A & K to save time.
I would like to thank KmanNZ for supplying the beers which we cracked on our 100th find for the day.
Thank you to carkisser & JSando for placing this series. We had a great day.

Needing to smash out a few caches to get me closer to another milestone I thought I would target this series. Quick find in an obvious place. Log is dry.

The goal today was to pick up a heap up caches to build up the fav points for an upcoming Grampians trip and aim for a new gemstone badge - 120 caches in a day.
Mostly easy finds and a good size which is great to see. A few people out today on motorbikes and exploring however relatively muggle free. Nice variety of bush land with lovely views in parts.

With a free afternoon today I drove East to take another bite out of the Mount Disappointment trail. In just over two hours I visited 30 cache locations and made 26 finds, with four DNF's.
The weather was overcast but pleasant and I had an enjoyable afternoon. My thanks to carkisser and JSando for placing and maintaining this series.

I have been meaning to do the Mt. Disappointment trail for some now but never seemed to get around to it. A couple of weeks ago, when the Parkville challenge caches started getting published I realised that I needed certain cache types and attributes to qualify...this trail provided them. This finally gave me the push I needed to go out and start the trail.
I haven't been here before so it was great to go somewhere new.
On the whole it was a successful day as I made my way to #70 with 61 finds, 7 DNF (3 of which had multiple DNFs logged) and 2 had been disabled due to missing caches.
A very pleasant way to spend a day and nice weather too. TNLN. TFTC.

This was one epic series, it had it all, easy finds, tougher finds, lots of dirt road driving, steep hills, bush bashing, open logged forest, deep dense forests and a leech or 2 to throw in the mix. Both me and TheSkype traveled from the ACT to cache in Victoria and this series certainly is one to bump up the tally which I personally believe is only for die-hard cachers. Do not bring a newbie here, it might get tough, zap their mind and they might never want to cache again. We camped at Andersons Garden campground and this was our base for the 3 days we spent caching. Thanks again pleasure to do business and explore this historic part of Victoria. TFTC. Day 2
#2589 Found with the Green-martian, both visiting from Canberra. Geocached in a 4x4 Outback for over 16 hours, over 3 days. Averaged 20 finds per hour hitting 30 finds an hour between #206 to #235. Found a total of 323 caches with several DNFs. What a marvel it was finding this series. All park n grabs with the car and GPS covered in dust. Weather was warm for April. Thanks carkisser & JSando for this epic series of caches.
Easter Sunday and out on a Planetary Pursuit to earn 10 souvenirs. So what better way to obtain these by hitting this power trail. Teamed with Geo husband to make these finds. TFTC
During a little warm-up here earlier this week I found about 65 caches in one afternoon. Today I returned for a full day effort, starting at 8am and stopping at 6:30pm having covered about 100km. Without rushing too much (all logs were signed and dated in full, caches rehidden properly, and photos taken of every GZ and logsheet) I ended up with 230+ finds for the day which is a surprising record for me .
Other than a shaky start near the residences (5 DNFs in the first 11) the rest went pretty well as I searched for them in numbered sequence from #1 to #240.
All were found easily other than #4,7,9,10,11,15,37,62,79,142 and 158.
It was nice and quiet on the trail all day - just saw 2 other cars and 2 police patrols on a mild dry sunny day. Perfect caching conditions.
Thanks for the cache and the series, carkisser and JSando.
47 is the atomic number of silver and the atomic weight of titanium.
A neat and effective hide at GZ.

So after our very enjoyable walk geohusband picked us up and we continued on picking up more of this series. We really enjoyed our afternoon, placing a series of this size is amazing loved the etching on the tops. TFTC and this series I would imagine one day we may be back to do some more.
Teamed up with BPF for a run at part of this series. Made about 50 finds which is huge for me as BPF swapped between finding and driving. Thanks
Today I have come to do the start of the Mt Disappointment series. I have done No 100 to 137 by car many months ago. My day started off by getting dropped off at cache No 1 by the wife and I walked as much a I could as she drove to Shepperton and back. I started at 11am and managed to walk 16km in 5 hours from the start to cache No 63. The walk was good and there was a few people around today, One of which was parked next to a cache so I had to explain what I was doing. I didn't see any snakes which was also good. All the caches I found were in good condition with only 1 DNF. I think next time I come back I will do the rest by car as my legs were very sore and scratched up on the way home. Thanks to carkisser & JSando for placing this series.
Had the day off due to airport drop off / car pickup duties and thought it was about time I started getting serious with this trail.
I have spent a lot of time up here and love just the place for its tracks, campgrounds and nature.
Great design on the lids as well.
Most finds were pretty straight forward with just a couple that took a bit longer.
Thanks carkisser & JSando TFTC TFTS.

13:37, 28 December, 2017. #1152.
With a date to tick off the caching calendar and the need to knock up just a few more to have found as many caches in 2017 as I had found in all my four previous years of caching it was time to pay Mt. Disappointment another visit. It wasn't a serious assault today, just a minor hit for some quick number building.
The geo-wife and I started where we left off last time, at #27 with her driving and me in and out of the car like a jack-in-the-box. Goal for the day was to find 18 caches to get my total to 1134. We overachieved a little with the total for the day being 44 . We could have found more, but had set a time limit, which we stuck to despite the temptation to keep going for that one more cache .
The OCD side of me would normally want to keep running the numbers in sequence, but today the alternate logic of cleaning up the little off-shoot before going on in numeric sequence kicked in and I did the run from #181 to #194 before resuming the sequence at #41. After the diversion, and a short stop at Blair's Hut for lunch, it was back into it.
The cache is in good condition.

Wriggly sticks (we DNF'd that one...)
Stunning views.
Lots of pretty flowers!
Logs learning to swim.
Plenty of geopiles.
Christmas carols playing.
Angelique_Anja's sandwich collection.
Party collection of lollies.
Logs, stumps and trees of every variety.
And caches upon caches, upon caches!!!
At 5.20pm Angelique_Anja retrieved cache 100.
All in all, 103 caches were done today by this exhausted team. 6 DNF's, not too had considering!

Staying at Kilmore, we tackled the rest of the Dad's Mt. Disappointment Driving Lesson series, dodging the rain clouds, thunder and lightning that added to the adventure.
This took us through the country side of the Mount Disappointment area, up and down the gravel roads where we met a few 4x4 and motor bike muggles having fun in the area as well.
Most were quick finds but some were not. Cache and contents were in excellent condition.
Thanks carkisser & JSando for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. Appreciate the time and effort gone into this series.

With a last minute plan hatched with abl973, we decided to head towards Mt Disappointment. With warmer conditions earlier on, the clouds rolled in later during the afternoon bringing a few welcome drops of rain. The landscape varied quite a bit with plenty of different flora along the trail. The satellites were agreeing with us today as the coordinates were pretty spot on. The detail of the lid on the containers was an excellent touch.
Thanks to carkisser for placing this cache.

This series has been on my radar for way too long so last night a quick plan was devised between square_pegs and myself to have a go at conquering a decent sized chunk of Mt Disappointment. I had no idea what to expect but what I can say with certainty is today turned out awesome. Even the weather remained stable and we got used to the humidity. Towards the late afternoon the rain came down which was welcomed as it reduced the heat and spurred us towards our goal. This cache was 43 of 128 found and logged amongst sights of Kangaroos, colourful birds and lizards.
Thanks carkisser for hiding good sized caches with spot on co-ords.

Day 2 of Dad's Mt. Disappointment Driving Lesson run. All the cache containers were in good condition, but #70 needs a new log as it is full and #71 has a very wet and mouldy log that also needs to be replaced.
All logs had our initials added (GP2) and the containers were replaced as found where all was finished.
Our thanks go to carkisser & JSando for a seriously long power trail. We may have to complete this on another occasion with only limited time available now.

Our third day caching as the GOTHs, Geocachers of the Hills, made up by the following teams, Bushfire, Aussie M & M, mogni, Team Astro, brisal5 and 6hinemoa2. Our aim was to try to clear out caches in various spots and we had a special goal for good friend Lawrie, aka Bushfire, we wanted to bust his record of caches found in one day. This meant a desperate attempt on doing as many caches as we could on Mount Desperation, aiming to hit 200 in a day which is not my best day. So many power trails in SA do that for you. It was all about Lawrie today. Some interesting spots were found, got close to the river, and some amazing views. Thanks for the hides.
We wer exhausted after this day and half a night, had dinner at MacDonalds on the Hume Hwy somewhere in Victoria.... Only would do this for Lawrie. Thanks again, all cache owners.

Thursday 16th Meeting up with 2Hinemoa6 in Bacchus Marsh and then Aussie M & M and Brisal5 both from SA in Broadford the team is nearly complete. Mogni and Team Astro will meet us at our headquarters (Maybole Cottage) for the next few days.
Day 4 19th Sunday Our farm stay has everything required for a very pleasant few days.
Up early and ready for a long day caching we stopped at this cache as it was on our list, soon located, log signed so on to the next. To save space in the logs we logged as GOTHS or GOTHS + 2 as we all live in the hills.
With hundreds of caches to log most will be cut and paste but I do thank all the owners for their thought and effort that has gone into placing a huge variety of hides around this very beautiful area.
Thanks carkisser & JSando for organizing this cache

On a 6 day tour of Victoria with Barnzy12. Taking the red eye over from Perth we managed to visit some great places. The main reason for the travel was the Mega event in Alexandra and the opportunity to find 12 cache types in a day.
We originally travelled to Phillip bay, then up through the country side to Alexandra. Spent a few nights staying high in the snowfields and then moved over to Mt Disappointment. We then ended up back where we started returning the hire car at the airport to fly home.
Some quality caches were found all over the state, great to get a real range of cache sizes with some very large caches compared to what’s available in WA and the range of D/T options so close to each other was a bonus.
Thanks to all the Cache owners for you placements and creativity put into hiding and have awarded a few fav points based on this or the location it bought us too.

In Melbourne with Cravo10 to attend the Mega in Alexandra.
We took the red eye from Perth, leaving at 1am Thursday morning, and departed Melbourne early Tuesday morning, so it was a short five day trip.
We managed to snag a couple of nice stats for the trip. First mega event, 12 cache types in a day, 10 lab caches, 50th large cache find, and most importantly my 10,000th find at Mount Disappointment.
We spent the first day on a caching run from
Melbourne to Phillip Island where we had booked into the local caravan park for the evening. We cached all day chasing down a number of the whereigo and puzzle caches from the CF series, before ending the day caching the extremities of Phillip Island, where we had both never been, an amazing part of this country.
Next morning we cached our way to Alexandra which was the main reason for our trip to Melbourne as we had both never managed to attend a mega, which were hoping to rectify in WA next year! Attended the pre event and managed to get a couple of group FTFs by torchlight which was a real highlight.
Saturday we cached in and around Alexandra all day, chasing numbers, the highlight of the day would have to be the birdbox hides around Alexandra and the multi in Bonnie Doon from that famous TV show, a real nice touch!
Sunday was an epic caching day, chasing down 12 types in a day, which required a couple of huge drives to claim some of the rarer icons around. A huge caching stat which is a very rare feat in the Southern Hemisphere. We finished the day travelling to Mount disappointment where we found Melbourne's 1st cache and then started making a dent in the powertrail, finishing by torchlight.
Our last full days caching was spent at Mount Disappointment to chase some big numbers and with a few caches around the burbs for good measure.
Special thanks to all the wonderful COs around Melbourne for their brilliant caches, and to the mega committee for organising a ripper event, hope to be back next year!

Thanks for another smilie. Quick find where all good at GZ.
Great to be over this side of the ditch for a few days with my key focus being the Mega in Alexandra and associated activities. I’ll be taking some ideas back to New Zealand so as we plan for a major Event next year we can look to implement some of the great things from Melbourne.
Did you know that planning has started for a major Event in the Wellington region in 2018? Check out the details on the [Wellington Event NZ (WENZ) Website](https://sites.google.com/site/wenzgeo2018/home) or visit the event’s page on [FaceBook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/590545297801072/). Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU.
MEGA ROAD TRIP - Alexandra Mega 2017 that is. : Day 5: GOTHS have a disappointing driving lesson. [8)]
GENERIC LOGS: With Literally Hundreds of caches found during our stay anything specific to this cache will be found near the start HERE: [8] [8] [8] Nothing here means it was found quickly, the cache had no issues and we moved on!
We had all come together for the Alexandra event at a lovely farmstay just outside the township. Mrs. Aussie M&M, Astro and I from Adelaide, mogni from Mt. Gambier, Bushfire from Geelong and 6hinemoa2 from Bachus Marsh. We would be filling up log books just putting our names in them so we searched for an anagram from our caching name initials. The best we could find was BATHMATs. [B)] Good grief. So we settled on GOTHS = Geocachers Of The HillS as we all lived on a hill of one type or another. [:o)] We didn't just 'turn up' and cache. Many months of planning and puzzle solving went on before we made our way over and so we had some target caches and series to have a go at. Today was Mount Dissappointment driving lesson power trails - and anything else that was nearby in our travels. Once again the planning by the mega committee and to local cachers made our stay fantastic. [^][^]
Thanks carkisser for this cache.

Thanks carkisser for this cache.
This was a group assault, 3 cars and 8 geocachers and we were able to find 200 plus of this series...
Apologies for the generic logs but power trails are exhausting.
Thanks from mogni

So much fun.[:o)] So many laughs. The coordinates were mainly spot on and the tracks were mainly dry and dusty (even after all that rain).
Found as part of my 2017 Alexandra Mega experience with the GOTHS. So an awesome group consisting of 2Hinemoa6, Mogni, Aussie M&M, Bushfire, Brisal6 This cache added to the fun and enjoyment of my trek to the east then back from Adelaide. While there were a few thunder storms, there were mainly clear skies and I never saw a snake!
Thanks to carkisser and *clear skies* from TeamAstro. Cache the planet!

I set off on a mission to find as many of the series as possible. It was early in the day, I had plenty of fuel and food in the car, so perfect! Most of them were pretty straight forward, but some gave me a little bit of a headache. I was impressed with the size of the caches, not very usual for a power trail! And there was even a storm with thunder and lightning in the second half of the day, but it rained just enough to give me better traction on the road I did manage a large chunk, although I was struggling with the last three due to the darkness setting in - and then I was travelling back to Alexandra at crawling speed out of fear of hitting a kangaroo! Great fun overall, thank you for placing and maintaining the trail!!
Headed down to Victoria with steeba and Hoojar to be part of the 3rd Victorian Mega celebrations in Alexandra. Our 3-day leave pass ensured we’d be constantly on the go! From 300 finds in the Mt Disappointment area to 10 different cache types there was never a dull moment.
The Mt Disappointment trail was a huge day for us as we'd driven down overnight, then on minimal sleep we had a huge day finding all 300+ caches.
Thanks to all the cache owners who contributed to a great 3 days caching with my fellow caching buddies. My apologies about the template style log, it certainly doesn’t detract from the thrill of the ‘find”.

Found as part of a few days away with my great caching mates The Rats and Hoojar. Our main aim was the Mega event in Alexandra but we managed to find most of the Mt Disappointment series, did 9 or 10 cache types in a day (side trip to Mt Buller and then Melbourne CBD). Some great laughs, camping under the stars, a nicely organised Mega and some great wildlife (koala and echidnas ). TFTC!
The idea of going down to Victoria and to the Alexandra Mega was original floated by Steeba. Normally Megas are not something that I am super keen to attend, but the opportunity of also collect some serious numbers on the Mount Disappointment caching trail, and finding some Lab Caches really helped to sweetened the deal. I was in, along with my long time caching buddies Steeba and The Rats.
We left Wollongong at 8pm on Thursday evening, returning at 5pm on Sunday, 2,500km and over 400 cache finds later. With less than a handful of DNFs, a wonderful result!
Highlights of the trip included:
- Finding over 330 caches on Friday, the entire Mount Disappointment trail;
- Finding ten unique cache types on Saturday, which included a drive to both Mount Buller for a Web Cam, and then back for a late night Melbourne CBD visit for a Virtual;
- Meeting up with a few local Wollongong cachers in Alexandra;
- Setting two new personal records, for my most cache finds and cache types in a day;
- The always good company and banter of Steeba and The Rats;
- Seeing six echidnas, and a koala (my first sighting of a koala on the ground in the wild); and
- The absolute highlight of the trip was watching Sir The Rats be inducted into the Australia Geocaching Hall of Fame (or maybe the jokes that Steeba and I had over the weekend over the honour!).
Thanks to all of the cachers that hid caches for us to find over our short trip away. I have little doubt in thinking that we will be back to these parts again at some stage to find more caches!
Cheers
