I dare say this is a victim of last weekends storm, bit like us who are dealing with a flooded basement. Our priorities are obviously there, so it may take us a little while to get to this one.
Cache was found easily. Container full to the brim with water & logbook fully soaked. Managed to leave an inky scribble but needs new logbook or at least drying out. TFTC
On the road to pick up a few more caches in our quest to fill some dot days.
A quick find.

After escaping the puhinui reserve carpark as ot was getting locked I had a new mission to find some caches at night I was going to do the ones around the sewer ponds but I was scared of by the dodgy looking guys screaming abuse as I drove past decided to keep going and ended up here. I was a little happier as there was no one around. Quickly found cache and new log book almost thought I had a FTF until I saw the online logs

Finally got here to replace the cache to find Tramping Kiwi had already done it. Put mine in place any way as it had a TB that wouldn't fit in TK's cache, but thankful of the effort and now have another cache to place.

Came back today to clear out the remaining caches on this part of Te Araroa. TFTC
Looks as though cache container has been washed away as you can see the stream has been up to base of tree .
Found some wads of paper but no bag as previous finder had seen....Hope Its ok that I put a container with paper there ....
Might need to be secured to trunk . I wedged it behind root and added toy frog

Not how described but a find is a find, does need maint - new paper previous pets put in still dry.
Cache needs maint, see below for how it has been left.
Only a plastic bag and log paper left now, in same kind of area obvious to see
Pic available if required

We walked a section along the creek in Puhunini Reserve, picking up a few caches along the way.
The weather was overcast but perfect for walking.
The cache is just a piece of paper in a plastic bag which is very saturated. Added a new piece of paper but it does need some TLC.
Thanks for placing this cache sp8sm8

Out with the kids to give them some fresh air as they've been cooped up too long due to all the rain. Thought I bring them to this area to pick up a few caches. This was number 3 and a quick find once I had navigated my way through the bog to GZ TFTC!
A bit boggy getting to GZ with all this recent rain. But it was a quick find once we were there. The rain has made its way inside the cache too. We had to tip out the puddle. Log bag is wet but log is not tooo wet, a bit damp, but no problem signing. TFTC
When I looked for this one previously I was on the opposite side of the stream and running out of options. (Should've looked at terrain view)
No 900 for me.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We have a few caches earmarked to visit today before heading home...
Like others before us, we found ourselves on the wrong side of the creek. When we eventually arrived at a crossing, we discovered that our next location was some distance behind us, and we needed to backtrack. No problems thereafter... TFTC.

11.30am - Easy walking track and with good hint soon had cache ticked off. SLTFTC
Once again eagle eyes found. It had a soggy log so replaced with new log and bag
After backtracking from the last cache to cross the stream we found this one fairly easily. Cache filled with water, log book soaked and tearing apart. Could use some maintenance. TFTC
Out with 10 centnz found quickly but was full of water and log in bag soaked tftc Lokky 1 12 January 2016 12:46
Set out in the rain with lokky1 to get the new south Auckland caches! Quick find but full of water! Needs a new logbook!
Backtracked from another cache to get on the right path. Lovely walkway here and a great place to walk in the early evening. TFTC
No problems with this one - its a wonder cachers don't catch something nasty from all these spots which look and smell like public toilets.... a hearty lot are we! T4tc
Thought i could get to this from the last piggy cache, but ended up having to do some back tracking.
Vistra and I decided to make an early morning of it and try and get some numbers around the airport, particularly some of the newer ones, quick easy find, back track and using another route and we soon had the cache in hand

Having finished work for the year and being greeted with a nice fine day, yorkshirekiwi83 and I decided to head out and do a bit of caching around Manukau and Mangere. After a short stroll along the trail we soon arrived at GZ, although not the GZ we were anticipating from a distance, and made a quick find of the cache here. TFTC!

After dropping some work colleagues off at the airport I had time for a but of a walk before dinner. After finding the cache at the bridge I carried on along the main trail only to realise I was on the wrong side of the stream to find the 'piggy' cache, so I carried on to this one. All good here. Cache found in the first place checked. TFTC, Biggles.
Found with Mrs McMike2012 while out for a bit of a walk after tea ... didn't even realise this wee walkway existed ... will come back during the next fine weekend & explore a bit further ... initially thought it was the really big one, but the GPS wasn't heading that way ... then realised it was was one of the slightly smaller ones ... oh well, cache easily found, logbook signed & replaced ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,037 for us.
Time for a walk before pick up at the airport. Very wet around the area after all the rain
As I am working my way through the requirements for the DGSc Challenge the need to hit specific mission targets continues and tonight's little challenge it to gather a few more night caches to get me closer to finishing that particular elective.
Tonight I was in the company of iammrwalker, we drove up following work for a bit of fun, although did not know quite how much fun it would be after the recent weather. We were fortunate that the heavy rain held off and while there was the occasional shower passed by we stayed warmer and dryer than expected.
All Logs tonight were signed as "IAMCAT"
As this walk went on I can only say that the ground was water-logged, Thankfully the caches weren't, there was plenty of gossip and mission planning for future mad cap ideas.
Have often noted these three caches along here, but being dressed for work was never in a spce to collect them until tonight. This was the fifteenth of 25 caches located successfully tonight without a single DNF. The fifteenth cache of the evening and a nice simple find j(once we passed a car of some dubious purposes parked at the end of the access point to these caches.ust where we were hoping for it to be.
Geo senses took over here and the cache was quickly in hand
So again thank you for the FUN of the hunt

I was fortunate enough to have Cats&Dragons invite me to join him on a trip up to Auckland after work for some night caching. We left Hamilton at about a quarter to six and snuck into bed at about 3am having met all the evenings’ goals. During the night we discussed the state of the nation, the meaning of life, and had we stayed out latter I dare say would have solved the issue of world hunger, discovered a freely available cure for cancer and solved categorically who was responsible for JFK’s assassination. Maybe next time. It rained for most of the evening to various degrees and most areas we visited were pretty sodden but we didn’t let that get in the way of us having a good time. A big thanks to all the cache owners for taking the time and effort to place and maintain all the great caches we visited. We signed the log IamCAT a combination of our two Geocaching names.
We parked in the industrial area and walked toward GZ down a walkway between two large buildings to discover a white Suburu at the end with two occupants in the car, prevented from going any further by a chain. You can imagine what we thought they might be up to and I can only imagine what they were thinking about what we might have been up to. Thankfully none of the hides in the area were visible from the car.
A nice straight forward find once at GZ.

As I approached, I thought I saw one that really fit the hint, but it turned out to be different one. TFTC.
Out today to grab a few afternoon caches and after visiting a nearby earthcache I wandered over to give the caches grouped here a shot.
Made it to GZ without getting too wet, though the ground had clearly taken a beating from the weather gods in recent times, but the cache was in good order and nicely hidden. TFTC

Out and about this morning collecting a few hides before making my way to work down South this afternoon. I had Followed the other trail till the end and was met with a private property sign. Rather than backtrack I found a spot to the leap the stream and headed to this cache. No problems making the find once at GZ. Cheers for the cache placement!
After being not too many metres from this cache only to discover it was on the other side of the stream we backtracked and headed here. Just what is the purpose of the cul-de-sac section of mowed grass in this area? In the middle of somewhere not too many people would visit. Quite weird.
Just got an FTF in the area, so thought it would have been rude not to get this cache while in the area
Another near by cache to claim as we were out with the nigh trider crew chasing cachers TFTC
Mr Hemaludy, Darthcacher1 and Purply were out at Muriwai doing some night caches with a group of cacher friends. When the notifications came in of new caches the plans changed so of we went chasing FTF's. Got this one in passing on our way home after a drive across Auckland. Signed as part of Knight Riders.
A group of us 'Knight Riders' decided to head out to Muriwai to grab some caches, dinner and then some night caches. The plan went out of the window when the publications began. After a sucessful FTF nearby we headed back towards the car and stopped for this cache. This was the last one for the night as the kids were now very very tired!
Nice quick find. Thanks for the cache.

Had just got a group FTF a little further along the trail, so stopped for this one on the way back to the car.
The kids of the group were getting a little tired, so we decided that this was to be the last cache of the night. So off we went from the Old Te Araroa Bridge cache- our previous group find- and enjoyed a nice walk in the moonlight, with torches aplenty.
The final retrieval was made by Mr keylev, who pretends to still be a muggle.... yeah, right!
Log signed as "Knight riders"- a group name we came up with for our caching exploits earlier in the day/ evening, in order to save on log space.
All in all a great afternoon/ evening caching..... losing count of how often us cachers have reappeared from the bushes en masse! Stealthy? Well...... perhaps not so much! Luckily, there was no one around here at night-time to notice!!!
TFTC- I haven't been to this area before, always cool to discover new parts of Auckland!

After completing the bridge cache just had to take a short walk along this unknown path to find this cache. Was a nice break in the recent wet weather and I still had some time before my flight. Approached GZ thinking I knew what big one i was looking for, but I was wrong, started to make my way to GZ but quickly stopped as it was completely wet and I didnt want to ruin my work shoes. MrNZT rang at that point and encouraged me to go barefoot " you are so close you can't turn back now!!!"
So barefoot and upturned jeans it was! Found the cache quickly, it was full of water but the log was dry. Got back to the shoes on the path and had very muddy feet! The things we do for this hobby!! Thanks for the fun!!

I see NZT you 3 are only 19 caches ahead of me! Wait and you will a change to that score this weekend. But there ARE 3 of you and only ONE of me, that's not fair... the odds are in your favour!
Nobody officially told me NZT where the actual customs are, so since I operate incognito as a FBI agent, I have to operate low key, under the radar so to speak. In fact I could be in great danger even telling this secret info. I hope you keep this private, I can't risk anyone knowing I got an FTF here today. The Big Tree revealed it's info, but I can't say more than that. Ssshhhh. Someones coming...

I was in the area attempting to FTF another cache and knew this one was also just published, but having been beaten to the last one I knew this one was also not going to produce a FTF...
But it was a nice sunny day (warmer outside than in) and I was able to easily push junior along the path in his chair.
I was following a lady walking 5 dogs and found this very entertaining as she was not having much success, as each dog was wanting to go it's own way, and none of them were the way the lady wanted... at one point she appeared to be hog tied by 2 of the dogs leads and almost fell over...
Found a good 45mins after Gorby for the STF.

Enjoyed the walk along the path in the sunshine, exploring this new area that we didn't know about. It was hard to miss the bike tracks and trodden grass heading straight over to a rather large specimen. Cache quickly found and log signed, TFTC!
Not enough time to explore the rest of the trail, wonder where it goes?
Followed the ego trail including 4wd tracks right to the cache, all ok, thanks.

Mr Gorby we didn't see your passport and visa get stamped as you entered South Auckland. Therefore you are here illegally and the ftf doesn't count!!!
