Back on the road again, heading north. Dongara to Geraldton

Sight seeing around town & finding a few caches & doing part of ALs
A variety of caches found today in some very interesting locations.
Thankyou to the CO's for hiding this cache

Quick find heading in the opposite direction to Freddo
Brad and Janet are on another epic journey. This time it involves many of Len Beadell’s 6500km of roads including the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sur, the Heather, the Neale, the Gun Barrel Highway, the Gary, the Talawana Track, the Gary Junction Rd and more.
And of course a 2 day visit to Maralinga which Len also located, surveyed and largely built as he had with Woomera and Emu. An amazing man.
If you don’t know of him he wrote some wonderful books. Laconic with a dry sense of wit, they are an excellent read. They are also available as audiobooks as is a recording of his brilliant after dinner talk one evening in Shepparton. Worth a listen.
And now the Moon Tours trip is over we are heading back to Adelaide via whichever way takes our fancy after a few days rest and repair in Karratha. Almost certainly down the WA Coast before heading to Hyden and the land of the Salmon Gums.

A nice quick find. We’re trying to pick up all of the caches on the left side of the road as we head from Gero to Dongara today. TFTC
Over the years I have always noticed the limo parked in the shed. Someone seriously needs to do it up
Cache was opposite the shed the limo lives in and a very easy find. TFTC

As has been mentioned in logs for some months, the cache is breaking down. The lid has a large hole. So rather than continue to led this break down into hard to gather up brittle bits of plastic and micro plastic, I took the present cache to dispose of and left a replacement temporary cache, until the CO does their thing and replaces it. It's now a small; a Metamucil plastic container.

Another cache on the way from Port Denison to Geraldton. The lid is broken but the log is dry.
After staying with friends in Nanson for a few weeks the time had come to start heading home again but not without stopping and grabb9ing a few caches along the way.
We really enjoy visiting this part of WA, not just because we have friends in the area but the countryside is so pleasant to drive through with such dramatic changes as the seasons change so it's a great idea to put caches out to get people out having a look.
We enjoyed this quick stop where a good sized cache was located and our name has been added to the log and everything returned as it was.
Many thanks for the cache we will look for the others next visit.

Visiting Perth from Brisbane to catch up with hubby who is working over here. Today I drove to Geraldton after dropping hubby off at the worksite in Dongara.
Now we are finding a few caches I missed on my way. Passed this one on our way north and now heading south stopped to look for it. Made the find and container was upside down as lid is cracked. SL then returned as found.
Found on 1 July 2022. TFTC, Barnzy12.

A quick find here with Deefa71 on a 450km drive collecting LGAs. Damn those flies though! Cache lid has perished and cracked, will need to be replaced before the winter rains. Tftc
I’m still trying to get the cache up on my screen and familysteiner is already signing it. Tftc.
Caching our way back to Perth from Geraldton. This was one of the caches we stopped at.
Cache container was cracked, so put a new inner container inside. Cheers Barnzy12!

Heading back home from a camping trip up in Geraldton, and took a diversion out to Ellendale Pool for lunch on the way. Back on the highway and I had a trio of caches to stop off at and break up the journey. This was one of them. Pulled the car over and made a nice quick find. Saw what looks like an old church nearby as well but when I drove round to it there were private property signs Will have to do some detective work on that No problems here today - TFTC
Up at the Farm for Xmas - its been a scorcher! Today its only 35 so Im happy to get out and grab some smilies while Im up. Still sporting a broken arm but cast is off which gives me a bit more movement solo caching. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining these caches.
Thanks B12 all in good order here

Enjoying our trip in the west. Now heading south towards Albany.

Good find
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was from Jurien Bay to Geraldton
.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Barnzy12' for showing us this location and for the fun we had with 'Country Cache II - Greater Geraldton'. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.

Found it. TFTC Barnzy12. Thanks for making me stop here, I was trying to identify the cars but maybe I’m not old enough to get all of them.
Found on my way home today. This geo ticks another LGA off the list for me. TFTC
Hi there Barnzy12.
We found your cache **"Country Cache II - Greater Geraldton"** at 10:27:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 22663).
We are staying in Geraldton for a few days, and when it is not raining we venture out to cache and tour the local area. We started our caching run by nominating a cache quite a way from our camp site and then took a route that was sometimes determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our interesting trek around the local area
We ended up finding a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route. (5 finds today & 0 DNF's). Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge
**Dropped Trackable:** "Relay For Life Tag".
It's time for this trackable to rest a while before continuing on its next journey. rl4f2n
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Driving from Perth to my home town in Kununurra, I decide to do some caching while on highway. Found it easy. TFTH.
A nice quick find on my day out and about! TFTC
a beautiful day for a drive!

Left TB to continue its journey.

After staying for a week and a half in Geraldton (the longest time we have spent anywhere since leaving home in April) we have moved on today. Dongera for one night on our slow progress back to Victoria. We did lots of great things in Geraldton, the wildflowers are fantastic, we always loved visiting the HMAS Sydney Memorial (beautiful and moving) and as usual at this time of the year the wildflowers and weather have both been fantastic. A bonus was the number of caches we found. Heaps had been placed since our last visit 4 years ago, so many we haven't found them all! The icing on the cake was yesterdays event and the four FTF's we managed to pick up.
Love it when the D/T ratings are spot on. A simple straightforward find in a logical spot.

Mickeydv and I stopped to log this find on our way to Geraldton. Thanks for the hide.
On our way up to the Murchison for Easter we decided to continue our cache hunt north of Jurien, happy to say we walked away with a smiley today, both on our faces and our profile TFTC
Pulled up only to see two pair of gumboots walking along in the adjacent property so was about to give it a miss. However the owners came into view and it was obvious I could still get this one signed off without them seeing me. TFTC # 11,385
Took a day trip to check out the historical region of Greenough and to get a cache or 2 on the way
Since son is home on his work break to house/dog sit and we got the rare go ahead to go away so it looks like another mini geo road trip it is
Let Home at 5.15am this morning which wasn't too bad tho didn't think muggle had it in him

Headed off early this morning, trying to beat the early peak hour madness on the Kwinana Freeway. Who would have thought that it would be bumper to bumper, stop/start, all the way from south of Anketell right through Cockburn Central to Berrigan Drive at 6.15 in the morning? Crazy! Lots us people must be wetting their beds or something, lol.
Anyway, the plan was to pick up Eliktrisiti in Malaga and head northwards for a bit of a roadtrip. A little backtracking had to be done to pick up a recently solved ~Tango~ puzzle, then it was time to hit the road. Went up the Brand Highway for a change, zigzagging backwards and forwards as we continued northwards to Dongara and then Greenough to where we were staying. Grand adventure it was too.
By the time we got to this one, we were just about cached out. So many miles put behind us and some many great hides along the way. But we weren't about to leave this one behind as we headed to our airb'n'b accommodation at Greenough South. No problems finding this one so late in the day. Thanks for giving a reason to stop Barnzy12

Besten Dank fürs Verstecken und greetings from Switzerland.
We were thinking of would be near the old building but that was private land. The cache was a well sized container. Thanks
Stopped to grab this on the way to Geraldton after a wonderful day walking round the River estuary at Dongara, where I failed to find any GZs at all. Duh But - oh joy, in this one there was a TB which I shall take back to the north of England in 3 weeks time
On our way to the Pinnacles ... Soon had cache in hand - very excited to find a couple of path tags in cache - left a DBOz path tag T4TC:)
Enjoying the journey as we travel to Geraldton with iluvtrekking. Weather getting warmer and lots of caches to find. Thanks Barnzy12
Originally logged under family name of clan-wallace now slowly transitioning to new name
On the trip home from the now famous annual IGD event in Gero. Myself, Kyzabra, jinta29 and SVKR_WA piled into the Sante Fe with a view to grab the odd smiley here and there along the way.
A nice spot to stop where jinta29 came up with the quick find.
Barnzy12 I found your cache at 8:37am, this was the 8th of 14 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3429. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Last time we were in Australia and spend our holiday in the western part of the country – that was fantastic!
We landed in Perth and from this great town we went to the east and the north – we were on the Wave Rock, in Kalgoorlie, in Nambung Nationalpark, on the Hutt Lagoon, in Kalbarri NP and on the Shark Bay.
All the time we visited there the main attractions – but we wanted to do our hobby (geocaching), too.
So we looked for the boxes next to the highways and on all the wonderful places during our tour.
Here we could found the box very well, we say thanks to the owner and thanks for the cache.
