Nice and easy to spot. Walked around a few times before realising what I must be looking for here! All good. TFTC
Also had previously found this cache on 20/02/2016 with the Glen Eden Guides but hadn't logged it. The cache has been damaged by the sunshine so may need some maintenance in the near future to save it from muggles. Thanks to finding this cache as one of my original first caches has helped me a lot since taking up geocaching again. Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi however a FTF popped up this morning at the Cascades so we have made a detour on our travels. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC. What a great way to spend a sunny summers day.
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Yesterdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Today it was going to be Titirangi but on spotting a new cache publication our plans changed and we headed straight to the Waitakeries. We had to change our route on the way back as part of Scenic Drive Road to the Arataki visitors Centre was closed to non residents. We ended up finishing our day caching in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Another one Yvettetb had done before and another neat idea for a hide. Thanks for the creative caches
This one was so good I was annoyed when I figured it out thanks so much for awesome cache, very impressive.
Great hide I had a cache exactly like this and got taken down the first day fml not dangerous at all
The spider webs added to the camo, once removed was easy to find.
Sadly we had one identical hidden in our area & was reported as dangerous so im glad people arent as petty around here

Keylev and I were on a mission to really crank up the numbers today. So better get to it!
Keylev was in mood to muck around and found it quickly. TFTC

As luck would have it NZTravellers, B4Dawn and I realised that all our other work and social commitments aligned to give us some free time this week so what better way to put this to use then some afternoon / evening / night caching the WHOLE week!!! This is day 3 so by now the early work starts so that we could finish early and have more afternoon caching time was kicking in but we were not going to let that stop us. Unfortunately both of the NZTs had to pull out of the adventures so it meant only B4Dawn and I were on the caching hunt tonight.
Was a bit dubious after our DNF on the similar structure but I was onto this one almost immediately and had it signed in no time.
Thanks for the cache.

I found this cache some time ago but I`m logging it today for my own record.

P.S. Can be tricky for some

Omg so tricky love it this had us tripping like we was so about to give up on this. Great camo
We are babysitting another hound at the moment and after taking him out earlier he was returned to the house and our geohound had his turn to go out for a caching trip. Albert made for good cover here although even on a holiday period day like today there was plenty of traffic coming up and down the street and I had to be careful not to let him get into danger.
I had an idea about what might have been used for the hiding technique here and as it turned out I was correct but even so I missed it on the first pass so I was a bit perplexed - maybe it's because my fingers aren't as dextrous as they used to be. Second go I had the cache in hand as expected.
Bit surprised this cache doesn't get found more often - definitely worth having a look at, even though I'm not keen on the hiding spot, this particular applicatiion is a good one. Don't let the reviewers find out about it!
Thanks for the cache - all good here.

Found with darkangel on a short geocaching trip. Took a bit of perseverance but actually accidentally found! TFTC and great camo
Went around in a bit of a circle before I thought about this some more, nice one, cheers
Parked up nearby and didn't understand the clue but had some idea of what to look for, missed it on the first look but once again Urbangypsy made the find and then the clue made sense. TFTC
Today I had a bit of time between work commitments and heading to the airport and home, so I decided to head westish to find a few caches out this way. Doh! This one took me longer to find than it should have done. Although I was searching the right feature I was looking for the wrong type of thing - I blame too much time spent caching in Blenheim - anyway, got the right thing in the end. TFTC, Biggles.
After my Training I had still some time so I used the rain break to drive to Grey Linn and grab some Geocaches.
Another really good one! Had the right idea, so I got it quick.
Thanks for hiding!

Heading out to Green Bay with merlot58 and finding a few caches along the way. Merlot waited in the car while I wondered over and spotted the likely hiding spot quickly. Had to wait out a muggle before swooping in and signing the log.
Found with water safety today took a bit thinking but I have seen a similar cache before! Back in the game after a long break need to find a spot for a geocoin!
Second try today and walked to it instantly! Also not sure what the hint meant but we got it in the end, another smiley tftc
Went back after email tip, found it quickly this time. Really cool hiding place which had been staring us in the place. We still don't understand the hint ***+22 though.
It's been a while since we had one of these so it took us some time. Love these caches! Thanks!
Walked a few rounds a before the aha moment. We've seen these before so we knew when we saw it that it was the cache. Tftc
Spent a couple of minutes looking for this one; quite a few thoughts went through my head of what it could be then turned around and saw any item that I had seen before and thought that will be it; and sure enough it was. Really love these hides; log was getting quite full. TFTC.
Visited here a while ago & moved on when neighbour started heading our way. No one around today & with fresh eyes made a quick find. Thankful to finally give this local cache a smiley.
Circled around a couple of times checking the obvious places, then started checking every feature in turn - ah of course! I've seen caches like this before, just not on one of these. TFTC.
Didn't understand the hint and was getting frustrated but perseverance paid off. My first hide like this. TFTC
Had a dnf on this one last time we came here. Still found it tricky this time but eventually uncovered it - didn't even think it was the cache until I saw log! Very clever camo.
About a handful or so of space left before new log will be needed.
Giving this a fav point - only one like this we have come across so far. Glad to finally have the smiley here. TFTC

I'll admit I had been here before with no luck, but after quickly finding a very similar cache recently I decided to swing by this one and see if a similar type of camo was at play on this one. My hunch proved correct and I'm glad to knock this one out as it is one of the few caches remaining unfound close to home. TFTC! #1095
Guess I have been saving this for a rainy day......and it certainly was, well this morning anyway. Spotted something odd from the car, a long time since I have seen this type of cache.

Argh Lokky - your caches out this way have not been kind to us today. Our 2nd dnf of the morning. Quite a high muggle area and not the best place to be looking with 2 children. Tried all the usual spots but see it's a tricky one. Not sure I have a clue where to look. TFTH
Armed with a bit more info from secret sources and confidence that it was there, returned to have another look. Thankfully it was a very speedy process - must have been the only thing that hadn't been checked previously! Thanks for the sneaky cache.
Thankfully I've encountered something like this at a previous location which meant that I was able to make a quick find here - very nicely done though, and happy to be moving on quickly before I could attract too much attention to myself. TFTC
Complete fail here. Round and around, scrathing head inbetween. Had an idea what to look for but it obviously was not right. Will revisit another day.

FITW harisree
I checked the thing again and still had no idea about where the cache could be. Luckily, I had harisree with me this time who, after a bit of negotiation, gave me some additional hints.
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
Thanks for the cache!

Circled the damb thing several times like a seagull looking for a place to land. Very tricky cache, it took a lot longer than it should have. I loved the sneaky camo, a favourite for me.
It took me a couple minutes circling before I clicked to this clever hide and made the find. Nice one!
Another DNF for us this morning, got to the right side of the road once the GPs settled, but couldn't spot the cache. Heard the neighbours talking so didn't want to linger.
Looked where GPS led me...seemed to fit past comments, but couldn't spot it. The camo had me fooled. Will be back to try again...
Was bit concerned about the house immediately behind gz. My second attempt - Didn’t get the hint though. Many tftc
Joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 this afternoon to find a few Westie caches to kill some time. Parked right beside GZ and am familiar with this type of hide, so spotted it immediately and signed the log. TFTC!
Vistra text me and said he was going out to grab a handful of of caches, I asked for him to swing by and pick me up on route and I would join him, so we decided to grab some pretty close to home.
Quickly parked next to it, and quickly grabbed it. TFTC

#1596. My first cache of 2016. Arrived up in Auckland to spend time with our extended family. Saw the forecast so decided to get out early before the rain set in. Just managed to get this one done and the heavens opened up. Nice bit of urban camo. I have done quite a few of this type now so spotted the likely hiding spot as I arrived. Then it was a case of dash out to grab, sign in the car and return as found. Thanks for the cache.
Found this one while showing a friend the fine art of GC. Took a few minutes, after exhausting the usual places, thought about other possibilities. Quick find after that. Great camo. TFTC
checked this morning on way home from work, definatly still in place waiting to be found...
DNF
I got a feeling that the owner should check on this one.
I gave the object a really good sweep and I found a place, just above a "Danger"sign where it looked like something had been glued on before but now it was not there.
Or I'm just dumb.

I certainly hope these are safe considering there are thousands of them around many more kids who play near them everyday.
This one also took me two sweeps around the object before I found the cache. TFTC.

We had been out late doing some christmas shopping, then drove a bit further to find a couple of caches.
Dropped one of us off at GZ while the driver went around the corner to park. By the time he walked back the cache had been found, logged and returned. A nice hide here, but not quite so difficult when you have seen similar ones before. Thanks.

Not as hard as i was expecting after talking to the CO. TFTC. found after the catchup nearby.

This was my second visit to find this one. Didnt think I was going to get it but then noticed something worth trying....got it. Very clever camo.tftc
Had been visiting friends that love nearby and needed a cache for a gap on the calendar. This was nice and close. Had recently found a cache just like this in Australia so luckily it was a very quick park and grab for us! Nice hide. TFTC
Got here and quickly had the measure of GZ. The neighbor queried what was wrong and she had advised that she had made numerous calls to the Power Company as a consequence of so many people visiting. Assured her there was nothing to worry about. Just a geocaching radiation assessment using very complex gadgetry. Must have sounded very official as she was happy. Clever cache. We liked this one.
This one had us scratching our heads and have to give this one a favorite for the cleverness of the hide tonight was the night for success only third time lucky TFTC.
Second visit to GZ, with rebel98. Found fairly quickly, although mr rebel got fooled by a decoy, but soon after he located the cache. Very clever, first time I had seen this kind of hide (although there is one similar in South Auckland!) Thanks for this sneaky hide in the West
Visited this the other day without success but while at home thought about something that seemed a little out of place. Returned this morning after work for a quick find. TFTC!
Had to sit and wait out people at the bus stop but when they had gone I was in! Took ages to see it and reluctantly used the PAF option.
As Geo-Kids were sleeping, we thought to give a second try on this. Nice hide. Getting to know varieties of caches. Thank you lokky for this.
Loved this one. Like others I did my first look, with no joy. Took a step back, then thought of a previous cache I had found from the same CO, then another look and cache soon in hand
Gets a fav point from me.

Out and about this morning before work for a couple of hours of caching fun. Back today for another attempt on this one. I had the right idea last time, just didn't check that one spot until today. Nice to turn the frown into a smile on this hide. Cheers for the cache placement!
Had a look for this one during the rain. No luck. And when the neighbour came out to check her mailbox it was time to call it quits.
Trotted around the structure and then had a brief discussion about what type of hide could be here... and that did the trick. t4tc
Found the other day affter an extended visit to Bunnings....Initially puzzeled but a with a few moments of remote reflection the light suddenly went on...another sneeky one Andy...cheers Roger V.
Finally !!!!!!
Almost too hard for me !
Awesome ...def a favourite thanks lokky .....
Came 3 times to this today !

Should be a park and grab but wasn't. We have to change our way of thinking! I found a great hiding spot there and was all excited, only to have my hopes dashed. Found the correct one in the end. Tftc.
I decided on one more on the way home! A process of eliminating the options and I had this one in hand! I had to wait for a few cars to drive past but fortunately I am standing near a bus stop so can act casual... Not that there are buses at this time! ! I will save the other one for tomorrow! Tftc
Yeah, I guess I just don't think it's a good idea to set an example for kids that it's OK to interfere with high voltage electrical equipment regardless of how safe *this cache* is.
