A few non-puppies to break things up. Thanks.

21-May-23
Our second visit for the 101 Dalmation Series. Stopped off to grab this one as we were passing by. Plenty of the hint item here but luck was on our side and we soon found the one we needed.

Found after a little bit of searching. I tend to go in too deep...
Glad it was visible and not covered by natural camo. But... Yikes!

Thought I'd start on this famed 101 today. What a day to choose, wet and windy. Well, Since I'm up, might as well get started.

Apologies for the repetitive logging but please do know I am appreciative of all the caches hidden. Thanks very much to CO.

Immediately spotted the item it’s hidden within.
Visiting friends nearby so good opportunity for some exploring while walking the pooch. Didn’t have a pen. Tftc.

12-Feb-21
Looks like much has changed around here since our last visit with the dense combination of blackberry bushes, gorse and cutty grass growing along the side of the road recently been attacked by a large mower. The cache and camo had slowly been sucked into the ground making it even difficult for us as cache owners to spot. Some of the camo broke apart when removing from the earths clutches. Still should be enough life (may be the incorrect terminology for this hide) left for another go round the block. Placed at the base of a pine tree (updated the hint). Have added a new log. Happy hunting Smile

07-Feb-21
Nope. Couldn't locate this one.

27-Dec-20
Couldn’t get closer to GZ than 12 metres so flagged for today

Could it be this? No lid or log though

Find number 6305. My mission today was to come north and grab some of these Dalmatians and others in between. With the intention of riding my bicycle from the MTB car park and collect the caches along the way. And then cut thru the forestry road back to the car. I left Hamilton at 3.30 am in order to get thru the Southern Motorway before the morning rush hour traffic. This achieved I arrived at about 6. Before I started I had some breakfast. Then it was was on with my Hi Viz vest as there appeared to be a little fog around. I stopped at 63 caches and found 52 and had 11 DNF. Some of the DNFs were not really looked for as I did not fancy the gorse or the cutty grass. Many of the Dalmatians need attention. Containers were broken or missing lids. There were wet logs as well. Remarkably many were still in good condition. I was back at the car by 1 pm. Then it was back on the road to miss the afternoon traffic jams. Arriving back in Hamilton at just after 3 pm. A good day was had and thank you for the cache.
I wandered around a bit before spotting it. A well hidden cache Ewe got to like it.

We got a shock when we arrived at GZ. I asked Mr P to do the honours. T4tc

02-Mar-19
On a drive this afternoon to pick up the new caches dotted amongst the 101 Dalmations. Took a wee while to locate, but a pleasant aha when we did. SL. TFTC.

05-Jan-19
Our mission today was to collect as many 101 Dalmation caches as possible plus pick up any other ones on the way.
Brother In Law was our driver which made it a little easier to collect.
Most caches were very wet but luckily signable and some of the caches took time to find due to the sides of the road being overgrown with thistles and blackberry bushes.
We started our mission at 9am but had to quit around 3.30pm due to losing service in the area, so will have to come back and make sure we have downloaded to off line to complete.
So glad that we are 50% complete on this, we will be back. SLTFTC

Paaarked the trusty geomobile and set off with shear joy in search of ewe. Sad to say we were too late, ewed already taken your final dock and dip!

05-Nov-18
Having located the other Star Wars cache last week, Braxton and I were emboldened to wander into the uncharted New Zealand bush to search for this one. After paaaaaking the car safely on the grass verge within thirty metres of our objective we switched on our light sabres and embaaaaaked on our adventure. My heart was in my foot and mouth each time that we had to navigate a path round a prickly plant. Whenever we came across a patch of sandy soil we scrapied it to see whether the container was hidden beneath the surface. No such luck. We were on the pont of admitting that we were bleaten and abandoning our quest when, would ewe believe it, Braxton's radar picked up a signal from a familiar object. He stood back to allow me to investigate as I had the face mask and the protective clothing. I rammed my fist into my mouth to suppress a scream when I saw the hideous object before me. One zap from the light sabre rendered it helpless. It was now safe to sign the log.
Many thanks to the CO for raising our heartbeats and for placing and maintaining this cache.

We thought we had spotted the cache however were initially a bit reluctant to investigate further in case it wasn't but we plucked up the courage and were pleased we did as it was indeed what we were after.
Very interesting and unique camo, thanks kiwiscot19.

Maintenance run - added a new log. All good.

08-Apr-18
I have observed the caches on this trail starting on Blackbridge Road for quite some time now hoping that one day I would have some time up my sleeve to try and get as many as I could in one go. That is how I came to be looking for this particular cache. As I had until 1PM free, I left home and headed out at 5.45AM this morning… and it was a great day for it. So when it came to finding this particular cache… I didn't. For some reason my APP decided to bounce all over the place here and so I couldn't get a fix on GZ. So thank you kiwiscot19 for taking the time to set up this particular cache even though I didn't find it. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC!

#9784. A day to explore the 101 Dalmations trail around Riverhead Forest in Riverhead. We had set out to complete about half of the trail. In the end we picked up 52 geocaches on or near it, plus 3 DNFs. Stopped on Bald Hill Road. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Took a bit of searching around, as the GPS was quite bouncy here. In the end it could be shear luck. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Thanks for the placement and for bringing us to this site, and …

A DNF for me here. Found a likely hiding place but the bucket was empty because it was upside down.[^]

Need to collect 50 for the month to meet the Bakers Dozen Challenge so headed off to get some more of the 101 Dalmations trail, would have been a bit remiss not to collect this one on the way past. Love the camo. TFTC

19-Jun-17
I've had the puppy trail on my list to do for quite some time and as RustyNZ and I both had the day off today we set off to do as many as we could. It was so nice to have a change from puppies and it wasn't quite what we were expecting but ewe sure provided us with a cool cache!

Spent the day caching with evilno9, A80 and TheMexican, it took as a while to figure out what was actually an un-ewe-sual way to mark a hiding spot. Nice hide, TFTC

Please see main log at 101 Dalmations - The Puppy # 1.
I bleated at RR about having to get out of the car again. Ewe wouldn't believe it. I sheepishly found this interesting cache. TFTC
Apologies for the lateness in logging.

Last of the trilogy for me today, another nice and easy find, awesome cache theme.

After nearly meeting Tufty yesterday where I found signs of his caravan but ot him, I later encountered him at the Okura walkway and he filled me in the Piggy in the middle story, ahh that makes sense now.
First find on this trail after an earlier trip to the Wheri-zoo and Lava in the harbor Earthcache to get some rarer cache types. Onto the G--2 trail for quite a few of his for the rest of the day and admiring of the assorted camouflage methods employed. I suspect the donation of several of my Favourite points will soon occur.

Another weekend day in Auckland and still have the car my friend lent me to get round and see the sights (Geocaching). Todays plan was a many splendored thing; start off with a Wherigo and an Earthcache, clear the new caches off the 101 Dalmation road(s), do few at each end of the Stillwater/Millwater walkway at Okura Bush, dinner with my Aunt in Kumeu before returning car to Greenhithe around 7pm. A few targets and a wonderful days weather for my efforts too, nice one Auckland cachers! Managed to grab quality caches for the most part and a nice round number of 33 for the day was just the ticket.

Cache found by DD with some bleating of 'have I got to get out of the car again' - I just can't the staff these days! Many thanks

#3747. After spending a few days in Auckland on a work trip, I had the opportunity today to grab a few geocaches before flying back south in the late afternoon. I am working on the DGSC challenge and one task in the bulk find elective is to locate 50 or more caches in a day on eight occasions. So decided the Dalmations power trail would be worth a visit. Managed to find 74 caches in just over 6 hours which was more than I expected to find and only 2 DNF's. Then back to fight the serious traffic congestion as people flocked to Adele's concert at Mt Smart stadium. Looks like the Jedi's have joined the search for the puppies. May the force be with you master Ewe. However don't think the force is strong in this one. Nice quick find and good to have a different type of cache on the trail. Signed and returned the cache as found. Thanks for setting up the powertrail.

19-Mar-17
Im shearing my story with ewes today even if its my last wool and testament in the hope that all yous'e crossbreeds from Romney to Marino's might get involved in the search for this great cache. Today I managed to ram my way through the local sheep sales races to get to see what was going down. With today's high prices it was interesting to see the ones who had been fleeced and the ones who were just interested in the Lambingtons !

Great themed caches! All ok---thanks!

18-Mar-17
Sure was different. Was looking for something white but not that pale. Thanks for the interesting camo.

16-Mar-17
Two years ago we were told of this power trail. This year on holiday from Greece we eventually got here. We were expecting puppies but now pigs and sheep are in on the act. All coordinated by the muffin man. Thank you to all involved for creating and maintaining such a great geotrail. We had an exhausting but fun filled day. TFTC.
Gets a favourite for its skullduggery value !

Oh no !
Found this when just getting dark....Was a bit of a shock/ horror find !
Was expecting something woolly and cuddly !

12-Feb-17
Out today, clearing this trail off the map with Aiden29 and Reveurs, and we came across this nice break from the puppies. It was found after a very brief search and we loved the camo on this one. It was a good day to do the trail, not to hot and sunny yet no real rain. Thanks for the cache and lifting our spirits along this trail. #684

Very interesting cache Smile Found with Aiden29 & Small Pooka, TFTC Smile

12-Feb-17
This trail has been on my to do list for so long, so it was nice to finally complete the series with Reveurs and Small Pooka.

Very nice to take a break from the 101 Dalmations series and find this very cool cache Smile. Now if the rest of the series were like this, I'm sure people wouldn't lose the will to live Big Grin.

Holiday in New Zealand.. so we started in the morning to visit all these dalmatians geocaches. It was very hard, but we finished this trail. Thanks and greetings from Germany!

17-Nov-16
Heading down to Auckland today as I'm flying out to a 4week holiday in Hawaii. So we hit the road early to hit this power trail. Not sure how many we will be able to find but we'll give it a good try Smile

(sorry due to time constraints while powering through the trail and then time in the airport to log todays finds while waiting on my plane finds will have to be copy and pasted- and even that will take time)

TFTC

14-Nov-16
I was expecting something cute here, it certainly wasn't that!
Thanks for placing.

01-Sep-16
Out and about this afternoon for a spot of geocaching fun. Nice weather for it. I decided to head over this way to find these new additions to the trail. I parked up and made my way into the forest. Well, there was no pulling the wool over my eyes as I quickly spotted something that may as well of bleated out for further attention. Closer inspection confirmed the find. It certainly is not baad to make a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!

Yucky! But clever. Glad we had a stick to retrieve this cache. TFTC Smile

02-Apr-16
Yai, a power trail not to far from my current place. So a must go during the weekend to find a few caches there.
The road is OK for having a power trail but the caches were not well maintained. That was a bit sad. Often totally wet and smelly and often in the bushes. Not what I think a power trail is usually like.

02-Apr-16
Found interesting hide.

30-Mar-16
Well started at 10am and finished up at 3.30pm we are feeling ready for bed after a lovely soak in a spa bath, this was my birthday gift from my hubby that he would be my driver for the 3 days of caching this was the first day that will be hardest, we have replaced caches that we knew were going to be missing and only had a couple of dnf. Thanks for placing the cache (sorry about the copy and paste logs it's been such a big day we weren't able to remember them all) we also hit our mile stone of 2000 caches while doing these caches.

28-Mar-16
We have been wanting to tackle this series for a long time, but with so many saying phone reception is not great up this way we chose to wait until we had a GPS unit before attempting it. We have now had our GPS for some time and Easter Monday is the first opportunity for us to give it a go. We had a reasonable successful day, making it to puppy 75 with only a few DNF's along the way. We will be back another day to complete the series.
All the star wars fans leapt out of the car to head off to find this cache. Found here with purply and darthcacher1

Back in May15, I had done this series but with 2 DNF's. Since then tho for whatever reason there are now 7 green spots on the trail and this was one of them so I had to come back and smilie them. After walking to the obvious hide, I soon reset the Geo-Radar and quickly spotted the real hide. TFTC

15-Feb-16
Found during hunting the Puppies. TFTC

17-Jan-16
Well I have not much to bleat about, except to say I found it this time and now I have ren-ewe-d hope!!

17-Jan-16
A nice easy find (at last). So no more bleating about the time it took me wandering around like a lost sheep to find a couple of these. Many thanks for the hides and the great theme. Had a lot of fun today with these. A favourite point from me. TFTC.

14-Jan-16
Went out this evening with yorkshirekiwi83 to find a few caches around the Riverhead/Coatesville/Paremoremo area, before it got dark. Returned for another loop of the 101 Dalmatians trail, picking up recent puppies, piggies and sheep. A quick find in the bush here. TFTC!

Was heading out for an evening chasing numbers with Vistra as I wanted my 9000th before the end of my holidays, targetting these in the upper reaches of Auckland its been a while since I did the puppy loop and a few new ones have popped up, and finding them would give me the perfect number to finish the evening on. Surprising hide. TFTC

On the way North to start the festive holidays with family. Had been keeping an eye on a puzzle in this area as it was missing last time I was through, so decided to take a slightly different route North to grab this puzzle plus a few other new ones in the area.

Last find before getting back on the right track on the way North. Managed another quick find here as I'd worked out these sheepish little hides.

20-Dec-15
Had to Ram our way through the baaaracade to get this one. No bleating from us though. Could use a dip now. Out with Drysdale and beconaze.

20-Dec-15
I like your play on words Smile we're all having a laugh. Hope they keep on coming. It's such a lovely day out today! Beconaze, Onawe, and myself signed all logs on this trail BOD or DOB (depending on who was writing) to save room. Some of us are even walking from one cache site to the next!

After having found the last of our lost puppies we came on a bit further to start rounding up the sheep. Parked well clear of the nearest house and walked along to where we could access GZ. Once there the hide was quickly spotted. Nice camo. Thanks.

Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland
