Amazing to stand on that lookout and understand the strata and layers in those cliffs over the river. This was a fantastic cache and reading the notes, endlessly, was a real education. I even went onto the inter web to look for more information. Thanks for getting us here. Our answers were sent in a message.
Found by The Empire + HAs we continued along the southern road, the landscape opened up to breathtaking views of the Murray River far below. The road wound along the cliffs, and from our vantage point, the river shimmered in the sunlight, snaking its way through the valley like a ribbon of silver. The sheer limestone cliffs stood tall and weathered, their pale, rugged faces dropping steeply down to the waters edge.Every so often, the trees would part, offering uninterrupted views of the river, framed by the ochre-toned cliffs that added a striking contrast to the lush green vegetation along the banks. The cliffs, carved by millennia of river flow, revealed layers of history in their sediment, reminding us of how the Murray has shaped this land over time.As we stepped out of the car and made our way toward the edge, the dramatic scene that unfolded before us was breathtaking. The iconic ochre-colored cliffs towered above the winding Murray River below, their rugged, weathered faces glowing in the late afternoon sun. From the lookout, the vastness of the Murray stretched out in both directions, its calm waters reflecting the cliffs and sky. The contrast between the deep blue river and the reddish-brown cliffs was stunning, creating a landscape that felt timeless and untouched. Answers sent, thanks for the cache TeamThommo.-MEarthcache #445
TYFC! My first Earth Cache is complete. Thank you for all the information on the beautiful cliffs on the Murray River. Cache #7 in S.A for me! Wooh wooh!
Answers sent to the COGreat views from up here. Arrived just before sunset and saw an amazing sunset and the sun colonising the cliff face.TFTEC
Answers sent to CO via Richmond Lad.Our first full day in Renmark and finding caches out of town this morning while it is fairly cool. Thanks to all the COs for your cache placements. And some town ones late in afternoon.
After spending the morning in kayaking to MacCabe Corner, we headed back toward our caravan park in Paringa in convoy with Wollaston and HansandLinda. Detouring this way to grab just a few other caches wasn't *too* much out of our way These cliffs are amazing. We hired a house boat a few years ago and traveled this section of the mighty Murray. The views from water level are incredible!Answers sent for HansandLinda, Wollaston and Us.Thanks for find #5761TNLN
Out and about caching and this cache was on our radar. Answers sent to CO. Giving a FP for the location - fantastic views. Giving a FP for the views at GZ
After a week of caching around Adelaide incorporating The Great Leap Forward event, HansandLinda, MeandDe and I are working our way towards Canberra for the Easter Capital GeoBash Mega. At Paringa for a couple of days of rest and maintenance although we did have a couple of targeted caches at MacCabes Corner today. We grabbed this one on our roundabout way back to camp. Another great day for caching. TFTC TeamThommo
TFTC TeamThommo your cache Headings Cliffs - Paringa that we found today. We are camped in Paringa for a few days with Wollaston and MeandDe. A plan was hatched to attempt The virtual and the multi at MacCabe Corner. After kayaking upon and back we loaded the cars and slowly made our way back to Paringa. Not without finding a few caches along the way .That was certainly a read of plenty of information. Made our observations and headed backed to the coolness of the car. When we get back to camp the three of us will make sense of our photos and discuss the answers. Find Count: 19074
Whilst on-site here we had the questions made harder for ourselves as the photo's in the description hadn't saved to the offline version! I actually had no idea there was any photos at all, but now that I am looking back I see that the questions are a lot easier to answer with the photos visible! Rookie mistake, might have to check that for future trips when I am saving offline! Loved this location, great views and fascinating cliffs nearby! An odd place for a lookout structure, felt like the middle of nowhere!Answers have been sent and pic uploaded!TFTC TeamThommo
Excellent Earthcache . Loci612 will be sending answers for himself and darksidedan. Really beautiful location. Thanks for placing this Earthcache.
A fabulous place . Climbed the Lookout after finding the nearby cache. We were fortunate to have bright sunny weather which enhanced the colours in the cliffs.A very energetic family from a paddle boat had been across the river by kayak , climbed to the lookout and were paddling back across the river . Beautiful to see.

Hi Team Thommo
Looks like I forgot to log this cache when we (Goose, Rat and myself) visited it in November
The river was in flood and awesome to see, but also scary for the people downstream

Answers sent to the CO by Budgie for all of us.
On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!
Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.
At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day
Thanks for the cache.

This wasn't a planned stop but when I saw the lookout sign I turned off. We all climbed the steps to take in the views. I've been down below in a houseboat nearly 20 years ago but there is a lot more water now! I know it's tough for the people affected but it must be a a dream for the flora and fauna.

We separated from Tassie Trekkers today with Budgie, SSR and I heading along the Murray toward Mildura and surrounds today. The high river levels prevented us from getting many of our chosen caches but we still found some good ones and enjoyed the day.
It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.

Wow - this location is amazing, the colours, the layers and the river are spectacular.

Continuing our trip from Melbourne to Darwin and back, we are now on our way back home and today we are on our way to Mildura to visit my niece on our last leg of our trip. We are doing a little sightseeing and geocaching along the way.
A quick stop after just starting down the road, luckily there is plenty of room to turn the caravan around in

Staying in Renmark for a short holiday, using caching as a guide as to where we travel. 41 caches were found along and around the state border. This cache is one that was found today.
After some time spent up here looking around at the views and observing the landscape, some answers were created and sent to the CO. Wouldn’t have visited this gem of a location if it wasn’t for the cache here.
A fav for the interesting lesson and fantastic views.
Find #4247 on 18 Jul 2022.

Owl and Eagle were in the Riverland for a partially-government-funded weekend. Eagle was determined to explore some of the towns they had missed on a prior ill-fated boat trip. Owl was equally determined to find as many caches as she could. This cache fortunately fulfilled both requirements, though it was the result of a spur-of-the-moment side trip by Eagle. Definitely the best view of the day and some astonishingly beautiful cliffs. Thanks for the excuse to look more closely.
A visit to the lookout to find the multi near by so stopped to do this earth cache too
Today we made our way around the river land checking out some of the tourist sights with the main goal to get to MacCabe Corner and a stop at the brewery plus find a few caches along the way.
Thanks for the cache

Around the Riverland for the weekend due to swimming at Renmark. Visited this one while hubby working hard at the pool. He missed out on the magnificent views. Very lovely spot. TFTC.
We were last here back in 2012 doing the traditional cache but returned today with Bindi the geo dog to do this earthcache!!!! Bindi was more impressed with the nearby rabbits while we discussed the required questions. A great location and a great earthcache!!!!! Logging with permission!!!
A nice stop on our journey across the country from Adelaide to Brisbane with Davidwazza! Answers sent in with Davidwazza! TFTC!
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled around the Murray Riverlands, visiting Loxton, Paringa, and Renmark. We started the day from Berri, travelling south and finding a few miscellaneous geocaches. Once at Loxton, we completed the *Historical Loxton* Adventure Lab, found a few geocaches along the river, and then had lunch in town. We then drove towards Paringa, and took a walk around Murtho and Headings Cliffs. We then proceeded back through Renmark, and finished off our evening with a walk at Wilabalangaloo and completing the Berri *A River Contemplation* Adventure Lab.
This EarthCache has got to be one of the best and well researched descriptions that I have seen/completed. Most EarthCaches provide a geology lesson, however what I enjoyed the most with this one, was the additional photograph and marking up of the layers itself, connecting the physical view with the theory. It was great to read and study the geology whilst admiring the views, and we worked our way through the questions as best as we could. Thanks TeamThommo for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. A Favourite Point from me for the attention to detail of this EarthCache, as well as a great overall location anyway.

Found during a trip to the Riverland with e.gregory1 for a few days. Always very amused at the name of this part of the river - Crooked Strait! Spent some time admiring the views and doing the research on the Earthcache questions. Thanks for a very informative and scenic Earthcache TeamThommo!
Found on a trip to the Riverland with FeatherWaite.
It was nice to be able to finally get out and about again for a few days of travelling, camping and caching. We were lucky with the weather, with mostly sunny days, relatively warm temperatures and no rain to speak of.
We targeted specific caches and areas and found a good selection of traditionals, multis, puzzles, letterboxes, a wherigo and an earthcache. Most of the containers and contents were in reasonable condition, although we did have to replace a few.
Surprisingly we didnt come across any many other people on our travels. Perhaps it was just a product of where we went, or maybe people are holding off for the June long weekend.
We enjoyed the views at this site.
Thanks once again TeamThommo for an interesting and informative earthcache.

We were holidaying at Barmera and was on the way to a brewery nearby. Stopped here along the way and was very impressed. Love the geology and colours of the cliffs and the view is amazing. Submitted answers and had them confirmed. Cheers.
Such a beautiful view! 360 degrees! We came just before dusk hit and the sky was beaming with beautiful colours! The Cliffs are just amazing! Thanks for bringing us here!
After finding ourselves at this location as part of a multi cache location, we were stunned by the view as we took it all on at sunset. Just breath taking. Such amazing colours from the earth and the sky. Recommend visiting at this time of the day.
We’re staying in a cabin under the bridge at Paringa, this was the first place we called at as advised by the lady at the TIC

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 10121. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
I pulled in here today to admire the view and managed to get an earthcache at the same time. This was a lot of detail to scroll through on the GPS at the site and I hope I've got it right. Our answers as always have been sent via the message centre.
Thanks TeamThommo for the cache, it's been a while since we have seen your name on an earthcache.

In Renmark for a family holiday for the week and having the opportunity to grab a few finds with Happy pants. Headed out this way to take in the great views and explore the area, taking my dad for a drive. This took us to some amazing sights of the river landscapes and there was plenty of laughs and fun had, along the way.
We spent some time discussing what was needed for this earthcache, then spent some time, admiring the views. It was the pants that submitted our answers so now given the okay to log from CO.
I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.
Thanks TeamThommo for some great info and bringing us to a terrific location.

Logging with permission from the CO. Found today while out with Happy Feet and father in tow while on family holidays and we ended up heading out this way this afternoon to grab a cache or two and also some terrific views of the river and the cliffs. We set about gathering some required information while enjoying the views but had to accept that we would need to do a little homework to finish this EC. Our answers were forwarded to the CO who promptly gave us the all ok to log. Many thanks TeamThommo for the Earth Cache and also for highlighting these picturesque and interesting cliffs.
Truly amazing view up here.

I know I’m supposed to learn something at each earth cache and really I do, but sometimes there is so much to learn that I wonder if a cliff is a cliff is a cliff. Answers forwarded by TeamAstro. TFTC
Another Thommo earth cache so we stopped and checked out the cliffs. We were on a mission to the MacCabe corner where we came across some more cliffs like this one. Always love the geology where you can read the book of time in the layers.
Found during an epic trip to 3 of SA state's corners - Haddon, Cameron and MacCabe. There was dust, eagles, a flat, video and lots of photography, mud and mostly more dust. An event in Innamincka broke up the dust and quenched the thirst.
Thanks to TeamThommo and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [:o)]

On holidays in the camper for a week with the family so we decided to head out and explore the area a little today. Wow! What magnificent views from here. Just absolutely stunning. The Murray really is an amazing creature. I love I travel it all by boat like those two blokes did (might have to get that doco back out from the library)! Answers sent and ok'd. Adding a fav point and a selfie! Thanks so much for the geology lesson of the area. Learnt so much.
Have always admired the beauty of the river cliffs! Thanks for the info and effort in setting up this cache
We found this as a wonderful surprise. We were coming here for the traditional. This little blue spot was hidden beneath it on the Cachly map, until we became closer.
What a view! Best we've seen on our 18 day tour of Victoria, South Australia and Northern Territory, up as far as Alice Springs to the Red Experience Event there at Easter.

Hi there TeamThommo.
We found your cache **"Headings Cliffs - Paringa"** at 11:18:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 16110).
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area today. We found a wide variety of container types amongst our 11 caches (& 0 DNF's) today. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Beautiful area and now very interesting in the knowledge we have of the cliffs area. TFTC.
Was keen to this one today, so after spending the morning in Berri singing, headed up here to Headings to attempt this Earth Cache. I love coming here, it's a gorgeous section of the river. Was good to sit up on the lookout with the iPad and compare the labelled photo with what was in front of me even if I did struggle with answering the questions a little. Lovely weather at a lovely location. Thank you! Cache #2495.
We enjoyed learning about this area and have submitted our answers to the CO

Amazing views and mind boggling geology!
Some sort of answers have been attemopted and sent.
Photos were taken and will try to remember to upload when out of the camera!
Certainly worthy of a visit just for the stunning colours, no matter how they got there

What an amazing earth cache, it reminded me of my childhood and the time I spent on the river. Thoroughly enjoyed completing this with friends.
What a fun weekend I've had in the Riverland!!
Lots of gorgeous geofriends [:X] , events, walking, driving (on roads, sand and bush bashing), getting wet feet in the lake, BBQs, picnics, going across the border into Victoria [^], someone getting bogged , someone hitting a kangaroo whilst rescuing the bogged driver , huffing and puffing up what felt like Mt Everest [xx(] , eggs & bacon [^], laughter , chatting and of course finding lots of caches!!! [^][^][^][^]
I LOVE GEOCACHING!! WOO HOO!! [:X] [^]
Thanks for the earth cache Team Thommo

Brodie, muggle partner and I were at Berri for an event Monday.
So today we followed Moneydork and Tounga around the area and also bumped into Freddo, GoodLook and Laighside Legends at times, too
Especially after LL got bogged in the sand near Ewe Scab
16 fun caches today.
Unless mentioned otherwise, please know that your cache and log book was in good condition.

Thanks TeamThommo for the Earth Cache and the effort gone into it!
This is our 2nd EC find and once again we have learnt a lot. Very excited that we finally have an EC in the Renmark/Paringa area. Loved getting out here - I've lived here pretty much my whole life and prior to geocaching, had only been here once! Such a beautiful spot!
Thanks again!
