Out caching while staying at the Footy Club. Nice hide, thanks Groffy for this cache
Brambles not too bad. Whyalla certainly does have heaps of industrial buildings and little back tracks. Mud very sticky as rainy today. Tftc
Found while touring around Whyalla while staying here a couple nights. A quick find and all good here.
Find #5885 on 26 Jun 2023.

Day 2 in Whyalla has seen me just driving around the place to get a feel for the area and grabbing the odd cache at the same time. A quick find. TNLN. TFTC.
Took off to the North West a bit with Purrfect Di to avoid the rains back home.
Turned out this worked quite well as we only had a couple of showers for the whole weekend and saw some great scenery and found the odd cache or two!
A quick find in the back lane.
Many thanks to Groffy for placing and maintaining this cache on our SA geo-map

Travelling around - searching, spotting and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guyess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*All the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Beware! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and sharp rocks in your tyres
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Make Travel Bugs the Only bugs you share and pass on
Keep your distance - cache the countryside
Really fantastic of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again !

Thanks for the cache, we enjoyed the day.

Out n about with iluvtrekking on a damp and chilly morning. Made a quick find. Thanks for the hide.
Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 we made our way out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache Groffy!
Away for a few days with Featherwaite and Team Astro.
The plan was to get all the whyalla caches as well as the FTF series and the FITG caches.
Nearly got them all, just a few left for next time.
Our first one for the morning. A quick find.

Found with delinomads eaten alve by mozzie requires new container lid is broken but the wise in good condition
TFTC found with PatriciaJoy83 cache needs a new lid however to remain water proof
Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Heading to Port Pirie but 4 days ahead of schedule so a quick detour to Whyalla was in order. There sure is a lot of puzzles here! Glad we had done the solving before arriving in town. Rain overnight meant there was some slip sliding happening as we tackled numerous off road tracks and climbs today. Good Fun in the Geo Cruiser [:o)]

This one has been missed the last few times but the cache is definitely still there. Even in the dark the cache was found rather quickly. Thinking of past Groffy caches certainly helped. Cache in good condition although log could do with changing. TFTC
No luck for us today
Appears clearing has been happening along the fence line

Took a little think to find. Some spiders had made the container their home also
A quick find here.
Sorry for the late log...
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

On the road to the Alice Springs Mega with LuckyL10n and Albida33. We headed through Burra and Port Pirie before arriving in Port Augusta for the trek up the highway. Collected a good number of caches and all were found with no issues and the logs were soon signed. (Some logs were signed as S.A.L. to save space.)
Thanks for the cache and fun in getting to it and finding it.

Alice trip 2017. Day 6. With Sol de Lune and LuckL10n we spent today caching around Whyalla during a bit of s detour on our drive to Alice Springs. Heaps of caches with lots of DNFs we skipped but me managed a good day of caching.
Thanks.

#6550 - 10:15; Day 8 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune and albida33, so most logs were signed S.A.L. as a result. Caching in and around Whyalla today and along the roads into and out of town we collected 69 finds and 6 DNFs. We visited many places of interest today in our travels and most of our finds were in good condition. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC Groffy
The third of this hide type that I found today. Not that that is bad - they are good hides. Managed to get the cache back just before two muggles came down the road.
Hi there Groffy.
We found your cache **"Ramble Near The Bramble"** at 11:51:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 15849).
We cached around the Whyalla area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 6 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

3LG and I are caching our way around Whyalla and catching up with The X-Trailers .

As soon as we saw the area we had to search we had an idea where it might be.. and it was. Many thanks for the placement.
Found with Tempo as we collected all the local caches we've missed doing lately.
Having a caching day in Whyalla while staying in town.
This is a different part of town that most don't see.
Enjoyed the area and the variety of caches. TFTC.

I found this cache on a return visit to Whyalla.
I lived here for a year, in 2011/12, before moving to Berri, in the Riverland region of SA.
It was great to revisit the Whyalla area and to explore some of the tracks and trails. TFTC

I was, very generously, offered a trip to Whyalla with Moneydork that was too good to refuse!
Today was a leisurely tour around the Whyalla area which resulted in my finding 48 smileys and with 3 DNFs
I avoided the brambles ok but not the head height barbed wire from the collapsing fence
More blood, this is surely a true caching trip!
