A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.I was in the area this morning exploring a few trails in the Waitakeres and hadn't intended to look for this cache but ended up taking a wrong turn and driving a few kilometres down Forest Hill Road looking for a place to turn around with someone right behind me urging me to drive faster.I finally found a place to pull over, let them pass and turned around but didn't want to waste the detour so was pleased to see this cache was nearby and stopped to look for it.A nice quick find.TFTC.

I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Yesterdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Today it was going to be Titirangi but on spotting a new cache publication our plans changed and we headed straight to the Waitakeries. We had to change our route as part of Scenic Drive Road to the Arataki visitors Centre was closed to non residents. We ended up taking the wrong road here but that wasn't a problem as we just got the caches on this road instead. We ended up doing the Arataki Centre caches and walks the next day. Thanks for your cache that was a quick and easy find Smile

Quick find at GZ on our way back as we took the wrong road oops. Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi however a FTF popped up this morning at the Cascades so we have made a detour on our travels. Thanks for bringing me here and TFGC. What a great way to spend a sunny summers day.

This morning I had some errands to attend to in the Henderson area. After those were seen to I headed further West to see what I could find. A bit of a hit and miss time on the caching front but it was all good fun in the end. No problems here. Cache found where expected. TFTC, Biggles.

#6281. I had a little bit of free time this afternoon before heading out west. There were some spectacular thunderstorms in this area earlier today (enough to close the local school) but all cleared up now. Nice quick find here. No visits for a while. Surprised how few visits some of these caches out west get. Its not that far from the central city. Signed the log and replaced as found. Thanks kw12 for the cache.

Out and about for a spot of cache detection on this splendid Autumn day. I was heading west, for the coast, so parked up and crossed the road to GZ. Looks like the better parking is on the north side. Anyway, didn't bother taking the GPSr out of its cradle as I was sure where it would be. And so it was. Nice to execute a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!

Thanks for the hide!

Today I wanted to visit the western coast around Piha but sadly the weather was quite bad (rainy and very windy). But I don't care too much on it and so I came along here on my way to Piha. I know it is better not to stop at every cache because you'll never reach your target, but here I can't resist and got a quick and easy success.

Thanks a lot for the cache.

After a mad rush from a previous FTF down the road with supernanny and ric1942 I came by here just in time to see harisree and evilno9 (and someone) already here and about to sign the log, luckily for me I was signed in too, the evil one is not so evil afterall! Then the log was put away. Then a few minutes later supernanny and ric1942 arrived and we all stood around the road barrier for ages yakking about this and that. Then 2 more people arrived: witchegurl and her partner. Nice to meet you witchegurl after doing several of my caches lately. So it must have looked crazy from a drivers point of view with 9 people standing road side! So i'm able to claim group FTF on this one. Cheers kw12 for the cache and the fun that came with it today.
Cool FTF #145 Cool

Was so exciting to get notifications of two new caches quite close to home !
Rushed to get the Simpson Rd one ( Turtle ) ...then back tracked to Forest Hill Road looking for barriers .....
Was surprising to see a lovely bunch of Cachers already here , and get to join in the chatter ...all about tricky caches and so forth !
Nice to meet you again harisree ...you've been really busy lately !
Then who should drive up but witchegurl and partner ! Good to meet you !
Thanks kw12 for the new cache !

Another FTF in the bag down to a bit of good luck more than anything.

Having spent some time up at Arataki collecting the grow caches up there I noticed this one had popped up just as kiwijian and myself were about to call it a day. Only down the road though so away we went and as we pulled up to park we could see harisree (nice to meet you) having a nosey but with no sign of the cache in hand.

We could see the cache but it was going to require some longish arms to retrieve so I stepped up, made the find and was just about to write our names when the flying gorbino turned up out of nowhere to get himself on the podium for a shared FTF.

Stayed around for a chat while the cache received some more visitors before heading off for the day. Nice way to finish up - TFTC
