Found by The Empire + HAfter leaving Headings Cliffs, we continued our journey toward Klein's Border, the spot marking the boundary between South Australia and Victoria. The drive took us through rolling farmlands and stretches of native bush, the road winding gently as we approached the state line. The further we went, the more remote the landscape became, with only the occasional farmhouse or small settlement breaking up the vastness. As we neared Klein's Border, the landscape seemed to shift slightly. The low hills flattened out, and the terrain became more arid, with dry grasses swaying in the breeze. The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows over the fields and turning the scene golden in the late afternoon light. Thanks for the cache crane2.-M

I found this cache during my trip to the South Australian MEGA in 2024 sometime between the 23rd of February and the 9th of March 2024. Not sure of the exact day that I found this cache as I found over 1500 caches for the trip and decided to log them all when I got home. This cache was signed DSD or DARKSIDEDAN or AB or Adventure Boys. Thank for the cache and the adventure.

Got it! Checking out the 22/23 flood peak from a cupla days ago and the 'northern most point of Victoria ' while I was in the neighbourhood.

On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!

Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.

At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day

Thanks for the cache.

A quick find as we were heading towards Victoria, or was that South Australia? [:o)]
Thanks crane2

We separated from Tassie Trekkers today with Budgie, SSR and I heading along the Murray toward Mildura and surrounds today. The high river levels prevented us from getting many of our chosen caches but we still found some good ones and enjoyed the day.

It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.

17-Nov-22
Found this cache while out caching with Goosenegg and stainless steel rat.
We drove from South Australia, to Victoria and down the Murray river, swapping between NSW and Victoria, collecting LGA's as we drove down to Mildura

Thank you for the cache.

All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"

November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.

The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

Staying in Renmark for a short holiday, using caching as a guide as to where we travel. 41 caches were found along and around the state border. This cache is one that was found today.

This cache is the first found along the border today. From here it’s down south. Cache is all in good condition for its age.

Find #4257 on 18 Jul 2022.

My partner was here in 2019 whilst attending 3 events in 3 states on 1 day; awesome. I hope I get to do that one day Smile. We stopped by this one on the way to getting Victoria North Big Grin.
Thank you crane2 for the cache and placing it in a cool spot.

The Trip
We talked about planning this odyssey months ago, but put the finishing touches to the plan in the last couple of weeks.
We were hoping to undertake two challenges. One was to log a cache in as many counties in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales as we possibly could, as well as logging caches that were placed on the pages of the UBD Victorian Road Atlas as well.
dalerious got to work strategically picking caches that we needed. No easy task, but he is so adept at it. I get the car and supplies ready, and drive.
We had only 2 full days to do all this in, as well as an event to attend to in Mildura.
Quite an ask, but yet again dalerious and I not only marked of all the caches we had on our list, but we were lucky enough to add more.
We had an awesome time away travelling around hop, skipping and jumping from one state to the next. With the exception of hitting one Kangaroo, no damage to the Hilux or us thank goodness, I loved driving around this beautiful area.
Next big trip Tasmania........ Bring it on!

Owl and Eagle were in the Riverland for a partially-government-funded weekend. Eagle was determined to explore some of the towns they had missed on a prior ill-fated boat trip. Owl was equally determined to find as many caches as she could. This cache fortunately fulfilled both requirements, as they were trying to find their way to said wacky border. Unfortunately this was as close as they could get to spotting South Australia to the east of Victoria, but at least the cache was found.

Found today on a caching adventure out from our house sit in Mildura. We crossed borders, went to 3 states in one day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

This one was a nice quick find as we headed from Victoria's most northerly cache, towards our other main target, the virtual at Macabe Corner. All good with the cache, thanks for the hunt crane2

13-May-19
After the lunch time event travelling with The Coffee's we joined the convoy to try and find a way to the five corner club virtual but after wasting quite a bit of time on the wrong roads we were all caching our way back towards Mildura
Driving through this part of the country is always enjoyable especially once you get off the black top and having another cache to find made it even better.

Looking at the screen shot it certainly is a wacky border and now the border track to Victoria North has been closed off.

Thanks Crane2, for the cache.

12-May-19
Had breakfast at an event in NSW and picked up a handful of caches in Vic before grabbing the one on the SA border and another across the road back in Victoria. Razz
After picking up a few more SA road side caches, we made it to a lunch event in SA.[^]
A quick group photo and we were heading up the border track finding one in SA and one in Vic then this one in SA.
We were aiming to see if we could find MacCabe Corner where all 3 states meet before heading back to the last event....dinner in Victoria, but we couldn't gain access to the river without trespassing or a long hike that we had no time for. Twisted
We never got to see McCabes Corner. [xx(]

Anyway...as I approach 2000 finds, I was well consoled by logging this cache as my most Northerly find. [^]
I live only 65km South of the Murray River and at over 480km from home, this cache is also one of my most Westerly. Razz

Yep.....it's a wacky border. Wink

Well what a mixup that was! An entourage of vehicles all headed to try to reach the Virtual nearby, having had brekky in NSW, and lunch in SA, before heading back to Vic for tea, completing 3 events in 3 States in 1 day, but were totally unsuccessful in reaching the Virtual.
This cache was our consolation award for all of our effort.
dalerious was just replacing it when the rest of the entourage caught up with us.
Thanks for placing it here for our enjoyment.

12-May-19
Now for some real outback driving- in Victoria! There was a group of people out under a tree. I presumed they were not just there for a chat. Sure enough the cache was nearby and easy to find. A convoy is building up to go on a cache hunt on the Victorian side of the border, but before we crossed over there was this cache hidden on the South Australian side of the border.

12-May-19
Found by Mary and David at 14:20:00. One of the last of the big group to log, as we'd come via Renmark after the lunch Event. Much disappointment that we couldn't get to the Five Corner Club virtual after we learned that the local landowner was likely to be very unfriendy towards our convoy. We were within only 2.5km of our goal at that stage, too. Our thanks to crane2.

Day 43 of my solo camping trip that had taken me from Adelaide, through Victoria and around Tasmania, then up to Queanbeyan and the ACT for the Clear Waters Mega event, then back to SA via southern NSW. One more day and I should be home.

The weather has held out beautifully and today I made my way from near Mildura up to the northernmost point of Victoria, then down the Border Track.

Its been a great day, visiting some lovely places, with quite a few cache finds and a couple of nice walks.

A quick find as I headed north up the Border Track.

Thanks crane2 for the cache.

In Renmark for a family holiday for the week and having the opportunity to grab a few finds with Snap Happy and Happy pant. Up early and today we decided to grab some of the caches up near the South Australia and North Victorian borders, which might require a bit of a walk or 4WD to grab. We discovered some good hides and had no DNF's. As always, there was plenty of laughs and fun had, along the way.

It is very much a wacky border. We made our way here, not quiet to correct way but once at GZ, we made the quick find. The container does have a cracked lid. It would certainly be exposed out here, to the elements and heat. Signed and replaced.

I am currently writing detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the start of 2018 my average was only 47 words per log, which seems a long way from the 100 target. Given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After over 7000 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 50 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before the end of next year. It's surprising how much is has increase since doing this.

Thanks crane2 for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

What's this - a Wacky cache!! Surprised We stopped and walked over to the good hide. All is well with this one so no need for the polishing rag here. Our goal was MacCabe corner and your jeepers creepers cache. It had rained the night before and we almost got stuck going to jeepers. A low range reverse extraction and a car wash after was the order of the day. Glad I did not have to get out of the car here! I can hear you laughing now!

Found during an epic trip to 3 of SA state's corners - Haddon, Cameron and MacCabe. There was dust, eagles, a flat, video and lots of photography, mud and mostly more dust. An event in Innamincka broke up the dust and quenched the thirst.

Thanks to crane2 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [:o)] Hope the Wacky smile is still there [^]
