An enjoyable long weekend caching with friends around the Southern Tablelands.Quick find in a beautiful location. TFTC Joshwa27!
A cool and fun day of caching around the Southern Tablelands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in good condition. Thanks!
Day 6 of our central NSW adventure had us exploring Cowra this morning in a sea of thick thick fog that never lifted. But explore we did! Nice to have a cache at a lab point! Ha ha
We are on a ten-day road trip from Sydney around the Central West. Weve arrived in Cowra. Interesting to see how much the POW camp is interwoven with todays community. Container is a little different than the published hint but no worries. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
In the area, to pick up a few caches.A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, Joshwa27, for us and others to find.
Reperio 15:31With the weekend free, I grabbed the family and headed over to Cowra for a couple of hours caching. Expected I might be in for a bit of a search here, but surprisingly the cache was quickly spotted.Gratias Joshwa27As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

Thanks for a fun cache. Bonus Ad lab.The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We are on our way to the Capital Geobash Canberra 2024. Rain and tents arent ideal bedmates so we hotfooted it to Cowra. Weve been here a few days caching and organising for Canberra. Today we are trying to get as many traditionals as we can as we need only 26 more for a challenge cache in Canberra. So much history in Cowra and beautifully kept parks.2/26Thanks Joshwa27 for placing and maintaining this cache.
Could have been here a while if we had been looking for what was described in the hint. Have seen these types before so quick find in the end. TFTC
A quick find at an interesting little park. Also met a local resident doggo called Joe. TFTC!
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY FOUR: Cowra & Bathurst.and the geovehicle TEX smelled of rosemary for ever after. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Joshwa27 ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 4: After an epic sunrise on top of the hill this morning it was time to leave Young and head for Bathurst.A lovely smelling garden bed hiding this cache. Thanks Joshwa27 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! I was very pleased to make a quick find of this cache. My first attempt some years ago was about two months after I started the addictive hobby of geocaching. Very little experience equaled no find on that occasion. Today a quick find so no blue face polluting my map.
The second day of our geo adventure holiday, after camping down by the river at Darby Falls, we set off to explore the Cowra region as it is somewhere we have never ventured and with lots of history to explore
Well, this holiday is all about taking the time to see some of the amazing gems that you find while geocaching
Nice easy find after a spate of dnfs

Day three on our short trip north to find some better weather. BettyBoo3747, the geodoggies and I are heading to Cowra and back. Today we are caching around Cowra!.
These gates were a fair way from the garrison building. The military ground were very large.
Thanks, Robmc.

#20970. Day 3 of a short holiday over the border in NSW with Robmc and the geodoggies. Spent the night in Cowra on the banks of the river (in the caravan park) and awoke to a frosty morning that soon turned into a glorious Autumn day. Plenty of caching around town, scenery to admire and Cowra's war history to immerse ourselves in, walks to be had and cycle paths that will encourage us to bring the bikes on our next visit.
Nice set of gateposts and so much rosemary. So much land that was occupied by the Military back then. Discovered the cache but it wasn't a plastic tube.
Thanks Joshwa27

Found by Mary and David at 11:12. Now we're thinking lamb roast. A lovely area and the sun is shining again. Heading to Wagga. Our thanks to Joshwa27.
In the area overnight on the way to the Bathurst 12 Hour Race grabbing some caches around town TFTC
In Cowra for a day or so and while completing the Adventure Lab I also stopped for a few of the caches around town. Thanks to the COs for showing me aspects of Cowra and its history.
Turned. DNF into a smilie face today!! I don’t know why I couldn’t find it last time!! TfTC
Stayed Corowa for two nights and Finding your cache Joshwa27, thank you so much for placing it.
Log is quite full but we found a spare spot. Bonus to get an AL and a trad together! TNLN TFTC
Not a small plastic tube, but we found it quickly and we’re soon on our way. TFTC
Not what we were looking for but a read further down the logs solved the mystery. TFTC LJC just found the original while I was logging
This one seems to have developed into something else but its coordinates are very accurate. Log is a bit damp. TFTC
Not sure about the replacement cache, signed the old log on the side with todays date and PJT. Thanks for this one
Could not get replacement tube open, so signed original cache log instead. Replaced both as found.
#14892 - 4:26:00 PM; Day two of a caching mission around the Mid West Region with Sol de lune. The major focus of our mission was to collect "History of...." and other solved puzzles around Carcoar, Blayney, Millthorpe, Orange and Bathurst and many other little towns and villages along our route. After a frosty start, we finished the day with one DNF along with 50+ cache and adventure lab finds around Bathurst with a final stop in Cowra to wrap things up as we headed for home. Logs were signed or stamped to record our visit. Many logs were damp, with a couple very soggy due to the recent extended period of wet weather. I think I must have found the original cache as the log sheet was quite full and not a small plastic container? TFTC Joshwa27

Sadly we did not find it looked high and low

After weeks of puzzling finally in the area to collect on my work. Start at Cowra with a Parkrun at 8 and then work my way to Bathurst. Also picking up the traditionals of course. Day started wet, but that doesn't stop me.

Cool location that is not on the usual tourist trail. Quick find and FP from me for highlighting this location. I would have never seen otherwise.
Thanks for the cache, took a little longer than expected, but found all good in the end. Log has some moisture to it but still usable.
Sydney to Adelaide Roadtrip
Day Three : Cowra to Balranad.
An interesting day weather wise, with rain in Cowra, and very heavy rain around West Wyalong to the point I was worried that the highway may close. Balranald didn’t get any rain at all.
A quick find here, thanks Joshwa27.

Quickly found on a very hot day. It was great to find a few Cowra caches on the last day of the family holiday to Wyangala. TFTC.
Are the hints about tubes a red herring? Maybe that’s why I had 3 DNFs today. Found this one in spite of the hint. TFTC.
We met a local guide here who was checking the QR code on the interpretive board to see if it worked for their new video launch. Great timing for us. Even got to find the cache after he left.
Thanks Joshwa27 for the placement.

Back on the hand held for this one and the compass was far more settled. As we walked to GZ Mrs SKI spotted it as we arrived.
Today we left Grenfell on a very cold and windy day and moved to Cowra. We managed one cache on the way and then set up for a couple of days. After thawing out a bit we headed out to look around, our first stop being the Visitors Centre. We really enjoyed the hologram and displays on Cowra. We had both heard of the outbreak before and seen the tv show. The staff there were fabulous and quite interested to hear about a geocaching multi that took you to a number of the sites. We worked on that multi and found a couple of traditionals but in the end the cold beat us. We’ll try again tomorrow and hope it’s a bit warmer.

**Catching up on my now famous logging backlog, some going back a number of years.?? It started as a series of unfortunate events and went from there... Only seem to manage sporadic bursts so it's been a long haul project for me. This tardiness in no way reflects the quality of the hide or the enjoyment of the find.Apologies to COs for the late logs. The date of this log entry is the date I actually visited your cache.******************************************** Absolutely ecstatic to be on another geo road trip after a covid induced drought on travel! YAY!??Being from Queensland, I know I'm taking a chance on getting back in again, but nothing ventured, nothing gained!?? My aim this time was to get to Ballarat for the Geotour, events and catch up with friends. (Deferred twice already!) Afterwards I'm returning home via the Paddle Steamer? series near Mildura to do what I can of them before I have to return home. ?? I'm also trying to cache in as many LGAs as possible en route and avoid major centres further east being a new game plan atm. Also have to keep up to date with changing border restrictions in case of having to abandon all plans and make a desperate dash home,????? so that adds an unusual layer of challenge to this trip. This cache...which challenge/ why??LGA challenge ?leg stretchRolling on to overnight in Orange so wanted a quick find. Took a bit of a hunt before I found it as it was full dark by the time I got here. TFTC??

I had been in Cowra a number of times before and been to the old POW camp, but didn’t realise that it stretched quite this close to town.
Found the cache in its hide, wiped off the mud and attended to logging duties.
Thanks Joshwa for placing and maintaining this cache.

Great location, thanks for bringing us here. Once at GZ found pretty quickly as cords pretty good TFTC
Took longer than we expected to find this one, even though we guessed what we might be seeking. A nice little spot to brush up on history. TFTC
9627 Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1340. After realizing that GC65V10 had been disabled we continued on. Even with the co-ords being out it didn't take much time to SL Tnx JOSHWA27
It was time to return and try to finish off the remaining TRLT series with Rapidlywild. Probably not the best time to go with rain and snow forecast, but we have never let the weather stop us before. So packed all the winter woollies, thermals, gloves and beanies and off we went.
We nearly got all the elements over the weekend even in one day snow, rain, fog, sun and wind but there was also some pleasant weather thrown in there for good measure. Roads in some places were a little hair raising but the trusty 4WD got us through safe and sound.
With permission from some of the cache owners we replaced saturated logs and on a few occasions caches.
All in all a good and successful long weekend away, lovely looking countryside and views along the way.
After having a DNF here back in 2016 it was nice to turn it into a smiley today.
Thanks for the hide Joshwa27 and thanks for another fun filled weekend away RWLD.
