Outnabout for some solo caching to avenge a couple of DNFs after QOGM 2023. Its always a great day for caching. TFTC ridgeedidgeFor anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australias only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoriaAnd for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google QOGM which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. Youll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. Its not a Mega, its better.
Found by Mary and David at 16:35. Heading to Emerald in the morning. Our thanks to ridgeedidge.
Today we start on the meander home after the Longreach QOGM. Grabbed anything along the way then hit a power trail after lunch. It was an easy enough find, once at GZ.Nice to turn my blue face into a smile. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
On our holiday trip, we will be stopping in many different towns before making our way to Longreach for QOGM 2023. We stay at Barcaldine till Monday we will arrive Longreach and meet Deaf group share with us for geocaching. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting journey!

No luck for us today. Searched for 10 minutes and then searched a little more. Thanks for bringing us here regardless.
We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.
Today we travellrf from Emerald to Barcaldine and camped at Loyd Jones weir. When it started to cool down a little we headed out to find the caches along the entrance road.
Not sure if you are allowed to go to Isisford - the road is local traffic only - maybe that's just to stop people who meant to go to the weir.
Thanks for contributing to the fun ridgeedidge

We found this just after the road turn off.
The road in is quite muddy today after the recent rains but with sunshine it seems to be drying out very quickly.

After having a very pleasant night in the Council Camping area in Muttaburra which we thoroughly recommend for anyone passing through our main aim was to clear up the caches around here that we missed on our last visit before making our way to Longreach.
Accommodation was very expensive in Longreach (A company has bought all the motels and the prices are ridiculous) so we decided to make our way to Barcaldine.
We came out this way to try our luck at a few caches out here and also to catch the sunset. This was the last for the day and the sun must have been just in the right angle as we spotted it before we had stopped the car so it was a nice easy grab, added our names to the log and returned everything as it was.
Thanks ridgeedidge for the cache.

On our way back to our caravan at Lloyd-Jones Weir, so that answers the question posed by the cache! A lovely spot to camp even though it’s a bit crowded at present. Had to grab these last few caches as we drove back in.
Day 1 in Barcaldine. We are camped out at Lloyd Jones Weir as everything in Barcaldine full. Lucky us though, the camp is a great place!
We cached our way into town this morning and then began to work some of the trails that had not been here when we were last in town. A good variety of caches and a beautiful day to boot.
Thank you to the local COs for developing and maintaining the caches.

Day 367 - well keeping the streak running still as we are in the are for the event it was appropriate to make a quick trip to collect a few caches that had been forgotten the first time out this way.
We made our was to the GZ and after arriving we soon made the find, so the one thing left was to sign the log and returned it to the location it was found.
Thanks ridgeedige for this lovely spot to stop and cache.

This was number three on our list today. After a short search we spotted the little guy hanging around waiting to be found after a lonely six months since last years QOGM. With the log signed we were on our way - but which way ? Isisford or the Weir. Thanks ridgeedidge for placing this cache. Cheers from Bindair Dundat and Princess Madelyn.
We decided we wouldn’t go to Isisford, we will continue on to the Weir instead. We had to disturb some rather large cattle that were resting 8n the shade here before we could access the cache. They just moved to the next shady spot and observed us as if they were thinking mad dogs and geocachers go out in the midday sun!
Thanks for our twentieth today.

Selva Girls and I were on a mission to clear the caches south of Barcy and any we met along the way today. We took the time to admire this amazing landscape and the people who live here in these extreme conditions. Tftc!
Today we are caching around the Barcaldine area.
Signing logs as Team PIE (patrol14, Imbunda and echocage1) to save time. Very interesting locations and cache types. Thoroughly enjoying our time here in Barcy.

Mrs Patrol14 and I had decided to do some caches around town. Imbunda was kicking around on her own so we threw her in the back seat and the three of us became the super caching alliance of Team PIE for the rest of the trip and that is how all logs were signed hereafter.

We started our batting with a laugh at the Flash Mob event and visited 43 caches today. As I'd been through here like a dose of salts last year, my count for the day was only 19 caches that I hadn't been to before.
There were some pretty quick finds on the ones of the other 24 that I could remember. Unfortunately my memory got a little jumbled on some so I actually hampered the search on a few of them! "Ooops! Is it over THERE???
I coulda sworn it was over HERE last time!!!"????
In between caches, we went on the tour of the Masonic Lodge which was very interesting, both for the features of the building and the history of freemasonry.
We then went on to the Historical Museum and I could easily have spent a day in there. Had a look around and also had a ride on the miniature train which was a hoot! I think there was only one genuine minor there, but the big kids had just as much fun as he did!
This was another revisit to let the trackables say hellooo!
This was a fun day so THANK YOU to all the COs for your hard work in creating the caches and hides we visited today.

Day 5 of our road trip to the QOGM and collecting a few caches in and just out of Blackall as well the ones on the road to Barcaldine. Thank you so much to all the COs who have placed caches along the highways and byways that we will travel over in the fourteen days we are away. Without your caches we would not see and/or learn about your local area.

Hi there ridgeedidge.
Just a quick cache raid south of Barcaldine to collect some rubbish (and log caches) before the CITO this afternoon.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache raid & our find count for today was 14 caches & we DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels as we continue our nomadic wanderings around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge if the cache was big enough
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Having moved from Lara Wetlands to Lloyd Jones weir this morning, I had to drive into town to buy some milk. What better excuse to go caching could a person ask for ? This was one of the caches I found. After signing log I returned him to his hidey hole. Thanks for the cache.
