Out geocaching on Awhitu and this was our first stop for the afternoon. Nice easy find followed by exploring the nearby stage. TFTC .
Good hiding place, well pushed back so took a little bit to get it out. Found with Reny90
Spent an excellent day with Keylev. Super wet day, soggy hiking boots but a boat load of caches to show for it!
Found this pretty quickly with Keylev's help. Cache isn't visible so just need to get your hand in there! TFTC

Making the most of Auckland Level 3 lockdown allowing movement within the region. The boat ramp was busy on the weekend but all the boaties has other interests. Easy find. Thanks baldrick32.
First caching trip since the easing of covid restrictions have allowed it again - yay I've missed this!!
Quite a few people out here fishing today but they were so busy they didn't notice some cachers doing their thing.
Took a little while to locate the cache as I was feeling around in what I thought was the obvious spot based on the hint but it was under something else in close proximity.
Thanks for the cache.

The boat ramp was quite busy so this one required a bit of stealth and diversion in the guise of a cute geo dog. Got the cache in hand without anyone being any the wiser! TFTC!
Great cache
Resident spider made me say nope but cheekysman came to my rescue. Tftc

Heading back home after a trip to the lighthouse. No trouble finding this one thanks to the hint
This was our last cache for the day, on our way home after visiting the lighthouse. Quick find here with the hint. Thanks for brining us here, as we have never previously visited this place. TFTC
Never been here in my life!
Always good when a cache brings you somewhere new.
Even a hammock is here !
But no resting for me....more caches to find .

Nice cache, previous log helped confirm we were in the right place and had a dig. Finding this cache wasn’t too Tyre-ing TFTC!
In the area today on a maintenance run to the regional park nearby, and not being able to log any of my own caches, felt I needed to at least log a find, so decided upon this one....I did spot that the last visitor DNFed this one so this made it more appealing to me.....
Arrived and had the place to myself and began the search....not in the obvious places....start searching the little more difficult places and come across something not quite right....a bit more tugging and the cache was in my hands....
A little deeper than thought.....
TFTC.

I was glad to see that the weather finally was going to be good today after a week full of rain and cold. So I made the decision to drive to Manukau heads and visit a couple of Geocaches. I could find them all except for one and I really enjoyed the beautiful landscapes out in nature!
This one was really hard to retrieve as it was quiet deep in its hide.
Thanks for hiding this one!

Plan for this weekend to visit Awhitu Peninsula Never been in this area before except Waiuku.
Met up with fellow cachers from Huntly on Friday night and travelled up on Saturday morning. Plan to start at bottom and work up.+ Cachers were signed with the team name HRT being first letter of our home towns (Huntly, Rotorua, Tauranga)
Generally caches were good but some a little damp, others requiring reading descriptions, hints and other cachers comments to make finds.
As the day went on we realised we would have to return the next day to complete, so this made it a Saturday & Sunday mission.
Weather was great and some amazing sites visited.
Wish to thank all CO's for caches placed. Great trip. SLTFTC

For convenience, we group signed the logs H(untly) R(otorua) T(auranga) (or P(apamoa), depending on who signed and how heat-addled we were at the time...) We've been planning a raid on the Awhitu Peninsula for some time, with a view to clearing the area of caches... It's time to execute this mission.
Day Two: A busy area, and a short walk to the hide. TFTC.

Out for a great days caching with Agazo on a sunny day. Nice walk along to the cache. Thanks baldrick32.
Another wee stop while enjoying a roadie trip as the passenger. Go there, oops no there haha. Quick find but hard to retrieve to sign. Thx got the smilie.
A beautiful day, so I decided to go for a drive around the peninsular and grab a few easy drivebys and walkbys. Thanks.
We were out and about on this fine day and thought of finding a cache .We parked near GZ and walked over.Their weren't too many muggles about today so searching for the cache was easy. After 15 minutes of searching we found the cache .Thanks for the cache baldrick32 . TFTC!!!
2939 Left my daughter in the car to rest her sprained ankle while I went for this one. Didn't look closely at GPS so headed to the boat ramp. GPS wanted me around the coast so took the low road. I soon reached the mangroves so had to climb the bank. From there it was an easy walk to GZ where I was able to sign the cache and wave to my daughter in the car. Thanks for bringing me here.
Stopped for lunch on a kayak trip. Logged as best i could with a pen that wouldn't write. Does that count. TFTC
Cool spot with plenty of people out on the water making the most of the weather today, but no one near GZ which made for a quick find. Was hoping to get the other one near here but a dude was fishing at GZ so figured I'll come back another time. TFTC
Stopped here for lunch on our way back to Auckland. Never been here before. A delightful spot. TFTC
Today was a chance to go caching with Mrs Dragon. It doesn't happen that often as the places that I tend to go are often too wild and rugged for her. As it turned out many of these roads we travelled it was a case of us both enjoying the drive, the countryside and stormy windy weather, and I going to retreive the cache.
Nevermind was still a day full of memories that make up caching.
This was the nineteenth of the day after passing through Waiuku heading for Awhitu Peninsula and South Head, it was now time to start heading back down the other side of the peninsula. Parked at the required location and quickly made my way to the GZ. The Hint was all good and managed to locate in first spot and tool a moment to enjoy the view before heading on to the next one and then back up to Mrs Dragon waiting with the car.
Thanks for the cache, Thanks for the placement

I haven't been up the Awhitu Peninsula for a while and today was a cracker of a day.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
#11629. The muggles were much too busy cleaning their boats to take any notice of us. TFTC.
The weather forecast for the next few days is for rain, so we decided that today would be the best day to drive up the Awhitu Peninsula to the Manukau Heads. This is an area that neither of us had visited before and it was an interesting journey.
There were a few people messing around with boats when we arrived but they were all well away from GZ. A quick find then we walked down to the boat ramp area to look across the bay to the matching boat ramp at Waiau Beach. TFTC.

good hint, but had extreme trouble getting my hand in to get it, ended up enlisting a helping hand (pun intended) from the younger clan member to retrieve it
On a daytrip around the Awhitu Peninsula with Okayness, Snarsha & Dor. Quick find. #6 today. TFTC
TFTC lots of boat trailers here today. Came for a swim. Up here for xmas holiday.
Found with kakesnz, Okayness and Dor on a day trip up the peninsula. Got to see some coast guard action as a bonus! Thanks for the hide, nicely placed.
Yeeha, that is my first First to Find. We spent a lot of afternoons out here when our kids were little. Nice sheltered beach for the little ones to swim at. Favourite.
