Cool off the beaten path to the blowholes great gap and sat and watched the whales swimming by .the container is slightly worse for wear unfortunately TFTC
You can get out there.... ??? I'm not going to say this looked like a simple rock hopping cache because it did not... it looked dead set impossible. You can't even see how to get across until you're close. Once we got to that point there was no turning back, we just kept going and found the cache. Sitting at GZ was a really inconvenient place for the zip on my bag to break but there's no denying it did it on a memorable cache. TFTC Albany Canucks.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Albany yesterday. Today we explore the Torndirrup National Park. This cache was found while we were visiting the National Park.**Albany Canucks**, thanks for the cache.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Yesterday we drove from Esperance to Albany. The trails we had planned for today are closed due to work. Thus we decided to drive along the sights on the coast amongst wich the Salmon Holes, the blowholes, the Gap and the Natural Bridge. While visiting the blowholes we noticed this cache. It sounded like a spectacular spot and since the blowholes weren't that spectacular today on our way back to the care made a detour to visit it. Awesome spot indeed. The cache was found pretty quickly. Contents still dry because it is covered by rocks. Thank you very much for this cache and for bringing us here.
Cache owner here: unfortunately I'm out of town for quite a while and won't get a chance to fix the cache for a bit. But it's a terrific spot and it would be a shame for it to need archiving. So if another geocacher does come here and is in a position to help give the container the love it needs, that would be amazing and appreciated.
Great spot for a cache. Sadly the lid has been smashed in and the log is a little worse for wear. TFTC!
Hey the cache has had the lid broken and the log has gotten a little wet. Could do with a replacement. Thank you and great spot for a cache!
Found after crossing the Nullabor and heading down to Esperance and Albany on our way around the SW coast. Spent two nights in Albany to look around this very picturesque town with the main aim to find WA's oldest cache, and picking up other interesting caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Albany Canucks!
Found this cache- I didnt realise this area is closed as I crossed over from the blowholes- however there are signs saying this area is closed and unsafe. Also cache is perished- however- such a stunning amazing location!!!
This was a fricken cool spot for a cache. The box is old and broken, and needs changing so the log is lileey to get wet real quick! But man the view. This pic was taken on the way back up to the path!
I got to within 28 metres before I realised what side of the gorge it was on. It was blowing pretty hard and I like my life too much.
I love caching when it is finding hidden gems! I'm sure that if this would be a tourist spot there would be a proper path and fence and it would make this spot less spectacular. I'm happy to it on this way. Thank you for bringing me into a place I wouldn't otherwise find and the cache! Have a favo
This is a favourite for me! A stunning spot back either way! Thank you for the cache!!
With amb217 and Phillario. Quite a trek out and then finally back to the car. Cracking spot though.
Cool place that we wouldn’t normally have gone to. Cache was easily found and located. This is all about the spot
Nice little(BIG) adventure!
Amazing place I would never have even considered going if not for the incentive of the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Found with kellydrinkstea while down for WAGB

Found with mudbuzzie while staying in Denmark for WAGB. This geo took us out of our comfort zone, but was well worth the adventure. TFTC
Find 4 of 26 with 1 DNF during a big WAGB day by bike and by car.
A real local secret of a location. Thanks for sharing.

A great location which we took some time today to explore before all the shenanigans at WAGB21.
Awarding FP for this amazing location.

Down for WAGB and enjoyed this area before the days activities took over. Have a Fav point for location.
Arrived in Albany just after lunch for WA Goes Big. The Machman and I dropped past here. Quick find once at GZ. Fantastic views from here. TFTC

We are traveling around Oz and have a stop over in Albany. Spent the day exploring and we went looking for this cache. Wow, amazing, but a little bit scary, place .. we made our son wait on the safer side of the gorge as we went looking. Found the cache fairly quickly and made our way back. Awesome views! TFTC
Came out to the blowholes, but swell wasn't very high. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to go adventuring and see something off the beaten track so I made my way down to GZ. Awesome views all round and saw some crazy fishermen as well. Found the cache no problem. TFTC and the wonderful location!
Thank you sooooo much. There would be no way I would have gone out there if it wasn’t for your hide. I would have missed a spectacular view!!!!! Cheers. VK4ZT.
In the area for the earthcache so i grabbed this hide and another while i was here! A great spot and a nice little find. TFTC
Another great hidden jewel that geocaching has led me to. Thanks for bringing me here.
Again sent Beau down to this one because I was hesitant again, but Beau being the true adventurer he his made it down, took some amazing photos and found the cache! Didn’t see the blowholes today now a big enough swell but heard them, thanks for taking us here TFTC
We walked all of the way down to the Golden Gorge to within about 100 feet of the cache but then decided not to go any further due to the very prominently placed signs warning of unstable rocks and prohibiting entrance. Dang! Beautiful area though.
Wow, what a wild place here.
Thanks for the good description how to find the right path.
It was really worth going there. We enjoyed the amazing place here.
The cache we found after a searching a while. It's in good condition.
TFTC and greetings from Austria

Hi there Albany Canucks.
We found your cache **"Golden Gate Gorge"** at 12:18:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 23903).
We're staying in Albany for a few days, and today we decided to attempt a few caches in the Torndirrup National Park. We found 7 caches & DNF'd 0.
Thanks for placing this cache here. Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
**Grabbed Trackable:** "Mouse Adaptator".
Thank you Albany Canucks for adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Another great example for where to go with geocaching that you wouldnt have known without. It took me a bit to actual find the cache but then spent lots of time around, soaking in the waves crashing against the massive rocks. Also took lots of pictures.

Found this one after getting a smiley from the eastern gorge nice easy find with excellent views another favorite for us TFTC
I hadn't planned on finding this cache - but after reading the description of a hidden National Park attraction I was too intrigued not to give it a go - very glad I did too!
#254 Visiting from Sydney, holidaying with the family and enjoying SW WA geocaching. Another great example of what geocaching is about, bringing people to something great. TFTC AC
Quick find in this spectacular location. Thanks for placing a cache here and alerting us to this fabulous natural feature - would not have found it otherwise. TFTC
We headed out today to collect some smilies around Albany, happy to say we came up trumps and not only walked away with a smilie but amazing views, a favourite here today TFTC
Travelling since January from Geelong we went up the middle to Darwin and crossed the border to WA at the start of May.
We have driven the gibb river rd and been up to cape leveque.
As we travel south we have zig zagged from coast to inland and seen so many amazing things and done some truely adventurous activities
We have set up camp and will now cache the area as we discover new things, places to visit and sights to see
Thanks to caching we see more than a muggle does

As cache owner I visited the site and did a maintenance check - everything is in good order!.
The swell wasn't big today, but it's still an impressive place to come.

This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 9958. We found this as part of our 2018 Round Australia trip.
Found this one while checking out the blowhole today. The sea below this one was smashing today but once I got over my initial nerves I enjoyed the location.
Thanks Albany Canucks for the cache.

With iluvtrekking in Denmark for a few days, we decided to explore the Torndirrup NP together (leaving geo-schnauzers at home). It was quite a coolish day but the wind was not too demanding so geo-hubby and Mr iluvtrekking decided to attack this intimidating cache. I accompanied them down to the path to record their journey OVER THERE. They made their way to gz and after a bit of a scratch around due to indecisive gps's, they soon were signing the log book. Thanks Albany Canucks
Out and about with richlink today enjoying the magnificent coastline around the Albany area. This cache was a stand out, pity you can't award more than one fave point per cache. Thanks Albany Canucks.
Finally a tour with the-shredder and skyryser again! After so long time of separation. Found this on our Tour through WA. Thanks for showing this great place! And a blue ribbon. TFTC
I should have read more logs and maybe we would have ventured further. Even after 30 years rogaining experience this looked fairly precarious. I was battling with plantar fasciitis (runner's heel) so we thought better of it and backed away. May try again with more time & knowledge. Great spot, though.
It is indeed a spectacular spot. Went with Mistraluna and fortunately it was favourable weather conditions, but still a bit precarious. Would follow all the advice given in others' logs about not doing it while following your GPS. Spot where it is from near the sign, follow the safe path to the general area and then get the GPS out again.
A magnificent spot Canucks - thank you

Found this one after visiting the nearby blowholes earthcache. Forgot just how far down it was from the carpark to the blowholes. Nothing but wind happening over there today, being a very low tide, but there was still enough wind to blow the hat off your head.
Almost didn't attempt this one when I realized it was OVER THERE. You may not have to go anywhere near the edge, but if it were rainy or windy, the rocks would become treacherous, and an accident could happen. Please don't attempt this one except in the best of conditions people, and please don't just blindly follow your gps either. A spoiler image of the exact path to take might be useful on the listing too as I am sure the CO would not like for any accidents to occur whilst people were trying to navigate their way to this cache.
That said though, I did find the cache, and I enjoyed the adventure. And we filled a small bag with trash on the way back to the car, so CITO happened here too. Thanks for the smiley Albany Canucks

I'm even more glad Monts stayed home today. He would insist on trying to get to the water and surf. He has no sense of safety. Thanks for bringing me to this location that I would not know about if not for geocaching. TFTC Albany Canucks
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
I felt I shouldn't risk it … The place is very nice and warnings in Western Australia at times seem to be written by alarmists (on a playground: Don't swing empty swings!). Here, the warnings might be more sound. Therefore: DNF for me.
I approached this cache today.
My Gps said... 35 meters left. I did not dare to go any further...
So DNF
Nice Location but in my opinion the cache is a little bit to close to the edge.

What a place! Awesome views, great ! The water is so powerful, and we even came on a calm day!TFTF!
Lovely cool day for walking with no wind and not to much swell. Another great location on this rugged coast line, Would not have come here without looking for a geocache which is what it is all about. Just love the caches where you have to put a little effort in and enjoy the journey. Thanks for bringing me here Albany Cunucks. A fav point
Hi Albany Canucks I found your Golden Gate Gorge dry and healthy. Traded Sauerland Geocoin for Zeit-Wanderfalke TB SL TFTH. Photos show:
01 Golden Gate Gorge - looking west towards light house
02 Looking south-southwest towards heavily jointed granites (exhibiting blowhole phenomena) and Eclipse Island (in the background)

We went for this one after the Blowholes, but with the wind and the small sloping bridge it looked too scary to cross it, so we never made it across and didn't see the Gorge. Maybe in Summer with some friendlier weather this one is easier to do, but today this one was not for us. Thanks anyway, and greetings from the Netherlands.
Mighty glad that we ventured out here today for some mother/daughter time. What a great spot we didn't know existed! Been here for 20 years, don't know how often to the blow hole and gap and still missed this great spot!
Nice swell allowed us to watch and hear the blow hole from afar, while closer by we were mesmerised by the waves crashing onto the rocks below.
A keen rock climber abseiled into the gorge and made his way back out and we even saw a mother humpback and its nearly all white tiny calf swim by.
In all the excitement we left a note in the log, but didn't sign our name - ah well, we did leave a tb "Wanderfalke" "wandering falcon". Thought this would be a fit place for a falcon and reasonably safe from the drive by vandalisers that just collect tb's and leave the cache trashed.
Thanks for showing us this great spot Albany Canucks! Definitely worth a fav pt - will be back to show the rest of the tribe

We must have missed the path you mentioned.
The one we were on said DO NOT ENTER dangerous area. From this path it did look like a spot that no one, who cared for the safety of those who have to rescue silly people, would go. Did ask a ranger about it and was told not to venture out there,
We will go back again and try and find your safer path next time.
Enjoyed the walk to blow holes which were blowing well anyway.
Path around headland not safe today. Too wet.

Found with itsahoughthing. We found the little path down to the Gorge and while itsahoughthing waited I made my way over to GZ. Soon found the cache after a little searching and after a few photos made my way back. Thanks for the cache and bringing us to the see the Gorge.
We are currently in Western Australia visiting our daughter and her family and taking the time to do some exploring when we can sneak some time away from them. During our first week we were able to head down to Albany and Denmark for a few days before heading back to Perth for another two weeks.
We had an enjoyable couple of days in Denmark and with the cache easily located we added our name to the log book and continued on our way.
Thank you Albany Canucks for having placed the terrific cache series and maintaining them all for everyone to enjoy

Beautiful spot for a cache. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to visit such a place! Easy find between rain showers. Was very wary of the edge, one would not like to fall there...
Great spot and nice hike to get there! After checking out the blowholes and finding the nearby cache, my non-geocaching family headed back to the car while I searched for this one. I told them that I wouldn't be long but that was mistake... The cache was further than I thought and once at GZ it took me a while to find it as there are quite a few rocks, bushes and branches there. The walk back up tested my fitness as I was trying to hurry back to the car so my family wouldn't send a search party! Thank you for making me discover another great spot Albany Canucks.
Out for a day of geocaching around Albany before heading to Perth in the morning.
I must say I was a bit hesitant at the start when i saw which way the GPS was pointing. But in the end I had a blast. A fav point for location

Me morning's explorations took me inevitably to see the blowholes
Which is where I thought this cache would be !!
Nup !!
This was a fun, a truly fun, detour off the well trodden trails to see something far more interesting than the blowholes
And of course at the early hour of 8:30 am on a drizzly, windy day ...
... I was alone out here
Perfect !!
I followed the track down, then followed the GPS arrow.
Only to be reminded that the shortest way between two points is not always a straight line
There I was looking down into the gorge, admiring the power of the waves and cringing at the ominous noises coming form below ...
... but still 20 meters from GZ ?? [:o]
Oh you rotters !!
You want me to go where ?? [:o]
Over there !!
OK !! Off I trotted
And with the wind buffeting me,
the sounds of the underworld tormenting me,
and a rather bad view of what was underneath me in places,
I made it out to GZ
Shaken, but not stirred
Cache found I sat down for a while
On a windy, drizzly day with a big swell rolling in, this spot felt like one of the ends of the Earth
You can't feel totally safe in a spot like this on a day like today.
Which is why it is such a great place to be [^]

Fourth for the afternoon, realising I was two days ahead of myself on the dates written in the log books. No way was I going back to rectify the error. Too much down and up. This one takes a bit of nerve when crossing the bridge whilst seeing all the silver markers nearby. Not for a windy day. Nice to get away from the crowds. Another" new" local spot. Last one for the day as the next one is a couple hundred steps.
Another beautiful spot. The car park was very busy as was the path, so when I took off to the right I had a few people watching me. They soon disappeared from view as I made my way down the track. Found the cache and signed the log, and met a snake on my way back up. Eeek!!
Decided to burn off some energy and tackle a few coastal walks. Weather was a bit cooler, so perfect to be out and about this afternoon. Made this cache our first. It was extremely busy at the Blowholes car park, with many visitors enjoying some time exploring our beautiful piece of coastline. We diverted off the main track, hiking down the hill until we reached the gorge. It is a truly spectacular spot and we sat for some time just watching the power of the ocean. We must have looked rather strange to the passing people traffic, as we appeared like meerkats popping up back over the ridge on our way back up to the main track. Would never have known about this place were it not for caching, so thanks Albany Canucks for another great cache location. Favourite added.
Found this along with allinaday. A great spot which we probably never would've discovered if it wasn't for the cache, and we live less than 10 minutes away! Thanks for another great cache
After getting a notification last night we thought, awesome another first to find up for grabs! Raced out after work and thought someone must have beaten us to it but after finding the track to gorge we walked to the other side and made the FTF! What another amazing location this is! Have lived here in Albany my whole life yet still have never been or known this was here! Geowife froze as we were crossing to the other side as the wind was up but once onto the wider section all was good! We saw Dolphins playing in the whitewash down below and the coordinates took us straight to the cache! Thanks for another awesome cache AlbanyCanucks thanks for the hide!
