I am leaving the area and couldn't find anyone to adopt this cache, so I am archiving it.
A DNF for me. Still lots of off putting litter, more than one cacher could remove.
I CITO'd out some of the rubbish right near GZ. If you come in according to the new hint, you might avoid some of the mess.
Smelly horrible rubbish dump! Couldn’t see anything obvious and really didn’t want to touch anything.
Found.
Not recommended for kids and good footwear recommended.
Both due to rubbish including can lids & broken glass.
Really like the cach design.

We parked up and noticed one or two cars also going this way but soon realised they were just off to the nearby bus depot so no trouble to us.We ducked into the bush and unlike our last grotty hide we noticed just how messy this area was.Rubbish everywhere. The first thing we thought it might be hidden in turned out to be just rubbish but then luckily thanks to the colour of the grotty tubes we noticed something that was the cache.A different type of grotty hide and glad to be heading out of that area.
Greetings from Scotland. Thanks to the Covid 19 lockdown we are now stuck in a hotel room until we can get our flight home. We go for a daily walk from our hotel, look around with our eyes, if we see the cache we take a photograph to send to the CO. Most importantly, we touch absolutely nothing; not just for the health of others but for our own health too. Our route today took us towards this cache. We spotted the bus depot and assume this is normally a very busy road. Not today it wasn't. It was eerily quiet. We followed the arrow and MrF headed in the direction of the cache. Thank goodness he made a quick find as MrsF didn't fancy explaining if anyone came by why he was in the bushes.
Photo log has been sent off to the CO so as not to give any spoilers on the page, and thank you to the CO for permission to log a find.
*This is our 10634th logged find. Found at 14:36 hrs.* TFTC

I CITO'd a garbage bag worth of trash, but barely made a dent in the mess. I will try to come back another time.
I replaced the cache with a new one that has waterproof log paper.

This was the pits. On a cleanliness rating, I think I'd rather eat my dinner out of a toilet than go in there and look for the cache. Aucklanders disgust me sometimes.
In Auckland for a few days so only aiming a few caches. Brought my bike up so had to use it on some of these. TFTC
After the CITO in Mangere, we got some brekkie and decided to carry on finding some caches out by the airport surrounds. Nice and quiet in this area on a Sunday. We found this one quicker than we expected, just luck really. Golly gosh this cache is named perfectly for this area. SL. TFTC.
I stopped by today and removed four buckets of trash. There is still more to go, but at least GZ is relatively trash free.
Was out this way picking up all the caches on that new trail and decided to come and grab this one too. I see in the cache description that the CO says he "needs to spend some time here to degrottify". Well that ain't happened eh? This place is disgusting. Took way too long to find it as I carefully searched but finally something that fitted the clue appeared and the cache was in hand. TFTC and find #2999.
Joined forces with Merlot58 and Jag50 to complete the Mangere earthcache for the souvenir this weekend. Since we were in the area we found a few more caches that we hadn't yet found.
Plenty of rubbish around. Merlot and I took a longer route, bush-bashing before ending up in the right location. I spotted the cache fairly quickly, and then we took the direct route out.

Another grotty cache done and I must say the name suited the hide as this area could do with some serious CITO
A quick find, though there is so much rubbish here it was hard to spot the cache. Thanks
Spending some family time up here in Auckland. Time to head back to the airport via a few caches.
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Find number 4090. I had a few hours to fill in before picking a friend up at the airport so I decided to grab a couple of caches in the area. A walk will do me good and take time. It was about 5 pm and work places were closing down so I entered the bush some distance from GZ. After getting to GZ I circled around. No luck. I was standing there wondering where it was hidden when I looked down and picked it up. Thankful to make the find I was about to exit when I heard a car door close and an engine start. I had to wait until he drove off before I was able to leave. Thank you for the placement.
That place really deserves the Name GROTTY. So much rubbish here, not a place where I enjoyed my search. Unfortunately I also needed a while to find ist good hiding spot. Hide is nice, place
Thanks for hiding!

Another Grab-a-seat, Palmerston North to Auckland. For several days I had been watching weather forecasts -- not looking too good for today. I had three plans, A, B & C. As the weather initially wasn't too bad, I went for Plan B. I walked about ten km's today, for six finds & one DNF. All caches in good order. Back to the airport before the rain. Thanks Agazo for the cache.
It took me quite a while but I finally found this geocache. I had a lot of fun looking for it. Thanks for putting the geocache there.
My visit to Auckland was coming to an end so I fuelled up the car then decided there was time for a few more caches. I parked further away from this one than I needed to, then wandered onto private property. Oops, no need to go there!
Finally found the right entry spot, wondered where I was going to begin looking when suddenly - - - there it was!!!!
I am very sorry to tell you that it seems all your effort in picking up rubbish has been wasted - - - oh I guess if all THAT rubbish was here as well as the current rubbish one wouldn't be able to get here. What is WRONG with people?!?!? Anyways, thanks for the cache. A cool hide .

Out and about today picking up a few grotty caches... This is really a grotty place I was really wary about picking things up but luckily spotted the cache quite quickly... but the outer sleeve is now an ants nest who weren't very happy about me disturbing them, TFTC!
I came by and removed three garbage bags of rubbish from around GZ. The area around here is still a bit grotty, but that will have to wait for another day.
Decided to have bike trip in the area and mark some new finds by the end of the year. About place .... disgusting mess.
Out today in the area to find some more Grotty's. What a horrible trashy location. GZ is in serious need for some clean up. Log is wet and needs some TLC. TFTC
Interesting cache as this was clearly a rubbish dump for the locals. Not sure if the idea was for cachers to clear up the mess but as I was on foot and about to board a plane I was unable to make a difference.
I gave up rather easily. So much mess here and ground a bit slippery. I didn't have the resources to do a clean up.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is eight. The weather was not looking very good this morning but I decided to chance it. What a lot of rubbish at the GZ. Needs a CITO.
Cheers for the cache.

omg this is a disgusting spot! ewwwww CITO event needed. so much rubbish. I want to wash my hands!
Out for a few caches in the company of kiwis69 after what turned out to having been a long trying week for the both of us but for very different reasons. So of course looking for the opportunity to grab some caches in the south Auckland area to try and make a bit of a hole in the place.
So we left home at 5.30am with great plans in mind and a chance to put the world to rights. Hitting South Auckland it was a chance to grab a few of the more urbanized caches before heading out to areas with not quite so many people about.
All in all we managed to locate 55 caches of a variety with only two DNF's for the day. We had a great day and loved the variety of caches we came across. Thank you to all the cache owners for the effort to both place and maintain these caches. Sorry for the mainly copied logs. A Quick find here by kiwis69 whom came up with the goods. All logs signed KC to save space.
Thank you for the cache thank you for the placement

Headed up to AKL with C&D to grab some numbers &, more importantly, have some fun & a lotta laughs after a hard week. Signed as KC to save space. Another grotty, another smile. Had a lot of fun with these today, TFTC
I decided to go on a GMT mission - get many today [;] I wanted to keep reasonably close to the airport, but there were plenty for me to go for, and I had a lot of fun. TFTC!!!
Tough find this afternoon with eltee291. So much garbage in there, wow! Finally after about five minutes of searching I spotted a likely spot and there was the cache! Sweet! Signed the log and replaced as found. Visiting from Victoria, BC, Canada! Thanks for the cache!
Tough find today with hingis20 in a place that really has become a grotty tip. We have returned to Auckland to stay overnight and then head home Tomorrow. Visiting NZ from Victoria, BC, Canada. It has been an awesome three week trip through an absolutely gorgeous country
Out in the area with a couple of hours to kill so decided to collect a few caches.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Collecting a few more caches for the year and found myself out this way.
Definitely the grottiest of the grotties for me so far. Initially looked too close to the road, but headed closer to the stream and there it was. TFTC

Had a quick look here but was forced to leave due to the increasing vehicle and foot traffic on the way to the event at Villa Maria. We will be back at a much quieter time to have another go at this one.
10.30am - This weekend was going to be all about cache numbers.
With a semi plan made the squirrel and I hit the roads around south Auckland.
Also along the way a few puzzles that we had solved we collected.
Also one puzzle with a starting point at certain address which we have passed numerous times we thought we could wing this and find it.
Much to our delight we got it. great haul of caches this weekend ,and some very interesting locations.
A couple of misses and with some areas cordoned off we missed a couple more.
All in all a successful weekend. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... In Auckland for a weekend of caching... It's all about the numbers, baby!!!
We thought we could drive Grotty 8, so we came to this one first... The amount of rubbish in the undergrowth was quite disturbing. We wondered if the cache was buried under some of it. Fortunately, a closer scan of the area resulted in us spotting the hide. TFTC.

Brought along Okayness as I had been unsuccessful here in the past. I'm sure I looked in that spot before but thank goodness spotted the cache this time. TFTC
Definitely the grottiest place we've been yet! Searched around for quite a while then finally got our hands on the cache. Very happy we don't have to come back!
Second DNF of the day - I've had a pretty good run so far. Spent maybe 5 mins looking through this area that's sadly been used as a dump site. Thanks anyway.
#2661. Headed up to Auckland for another work trip and arrived a day early so I could fit in some geocaching in the big smoke. Lovely day up here in Auckland. Was going to go further east but need to get my Sept numbers up so decided to tackle the nearby GROTTY series and Hide and Seek series before heading to my sisters place for a meal. This one took a few minutes to find with the huge amount of debris spread under the trees but got there in the end. Thanks for the cache.
Not a nice place, lotsa rubbish speaks volumes of the people who inhabit the area I guess , tell grottie -;)
All good
Thanks
All good
Thanks
My first grotty. Suspect it will not be the last. Cache site was a little grotty!
Messed about for ages with this one waiting for gps to settle....then managed to break end off pen slipping into undergrowth....b****r...will have to sign next time I'm out here to get the rest of these Grotty jokers. cheers V.
Master Seth and I headed out this way today to nab some caches but mainly to get out of the house . . . . . . it was very pleasant out this way for the afternoon and we did some of the trail at Stonefields then moved over to grab a few more GROTTY caches. Cache number 13 for us today and the most favourite of the GROTTY hides to date. We have had a nice day out today. TFTC
Better hidden than previous GROTTYs in this area. Unpleasant area to search with all the rubbish lying around.
Found this cache in a trip to Northland with family during the school holidays. Was a great 2 weeks enjoying the locations & the geocaches of Northland. Greetings from Nelson. There does seem to be a lot of trash around still but bagged an easy find. Find #99
Stopped to do this today, but just as I was to get out of my car, workmen from across the road came out for smoke.
Now a huge truck is on my rear.
Weekend maybe..

I came up to Auckland to see a concert with a friend who decided to make a rather significant detour to call into a business near here for his work. He popped inside and after waiting a few minutes in the car I decided to see if there were any Geocaches close and low and behold there were a few. So I left a note in the car for my friend to call me when he returned and went for a walk. This was the first of five I managed to grab before I heard from him.
Stopped by today and replaced the log with a clean dry paper, then spent a few minutes with my own private CITO taking out four buckets of rubbish. There is still some here, because when I was emptying my bucket in the dumpster across the road, I dropped it in and couldn't get it out.
This one was GROTTY as! So sad to see how much rubbish people dump down here. Several different points of entry and we took one way too far out at first. Tried another few before we finally located the cache. Lid was not closed properly so the log is completely wet and ripped somewhat. Managed to sign but this might need a new log at some point in the near future. TFTC
Would rather dnf it than spend any longer looking in such a grotty place. So many other nicer areas a cache could be placed. 3 day road trip from Hawkes bay to Auckland and back. Great few days to grab a number of caches. Tftc
First time here a truck was parked up with the driver in the cab, second time a security guard was having his lunch in his car, third time popped into the bush for aa speedy find.

Out in this part of Auckland for a training course so had to pick up a few smiley faces afterwards. Log is a bit damp but signable. TFTC.
To keep with our Grotty weekend we stop for another series in this area Grottys 4 thru 9. Thanks again for the caches.
Found with Bennett24. Like seeing what colour tube is at each of your caches. TFTC.
Last day of the long weekend and caches found on every so far...so headed down south to get a few more and maybe reach that magical 2000th cache. Parked up right next to GZ but spent waaaaay too much time in the wrong place. Finally, went a little further and all of a sudden the hint made sense. tftc
Definitely the grottiest one so far! This area needs some CITO!! A security guard was checking on R (he had water and the windows were left slightly open!!!) He seemed satisfied when I told him "I was just playing a game in the bush". Some people will believe anything!! LOL.
Found a shoe with very bright pink bow, and then a whole heap of rubbish and more and more. Looked for something that did not resemble rubbish and we soon had the cache.
This street looks nice and clean from the road, that is, until you go bush to find this cache! I reckon I could fill a whole trailer with the rubbish here! Cheers for the cache.
Working late in the general area and needing to continue our streak this cache was very conveniently located.
Drove around the corner from where I had been working and parked close to GZ. It had been raining recently so all the trees were dripping wet and I got a fair proportion of these drops all over me in my search.
Thankfully I found the cache relatively quickly and signed the log to continue our streak.

Mark spent most of today helping to waterblast a commercial building on Pavilion Drive. Afterwards I drove out of the driveawy and checked on the smartphone for nearby caches. Grotty 09 was 207m from me. Drove around the corner, parked and crossed the road to GZ. Into the welcome shade of the tall shrubs and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks.
Out wirh 10centnz took a bit of rumaging around but eventually found it tftc Lokky 1 12 January 2016 10:29
Set out in the rain with lokky1 to get the new south Auckland caches! God was about 8 meters out but found eventually!
After a game of mini-golf at Treasure Island, we decided to nip out with the nieces and grab a few caches in the area. A handul of the GROTTY caches were on the list for the afternoon. A few workers sitting out and having their lunch across the road, but didn't even notice us duck into the bushes to make this find. All good here, thanks for the cache!
After seeing even more Grotty caches published recently, I thought it was about time a went out and tried to grab the series. All were in place and while there were a couple of locations that fitted the titles, they were well placed and easy finds. I enjoyed grabbing the series. Thanks.
Out and about with Pagenz to get some fresh air and stretch the legs. No problems with this little group of grotty caches. TFTC
