Unfortunately due to council activity at this location an ongoing cache will not survive long. I am thus archiving this one for now. Thank you.

Sadly we were unable to find this cache despite spending quite a bit of time looking. The GPS struggled under the trees. We note that this hasn't been found since late August'16 - maybe it has been muggled.
This is a lovely park. I took a seat and admired the pongas but did not find the cache. Two dnfs today. Grrr.
This is either a great camo hide or it has gone walk about....took a lot of time to look for this but no luck today ....would love to know if is still there or not
It was quiet in the gardens this sunny, Sunday morning
So I could poke around for a cache as long as I wanted
Which turned out to be about 15 minutes,
before I gave up trying to find the cache and had to leave with a DNF
Nice spot !!

This one is nicely positioned out of the line of sight of the swingers.
It took us far too long to find this one, we are out of practise!
Finally located it. A flash container, but unfortunately it was wet inside, so I dried it out, removing the sponge which was holding water and the soaked swag. I wanted to leave a cannon that I have carried for a long time, but the lid wouldn't shut, so it had to be the cavalryman (sans mount), although he comes from the Charge of the Light Brigade era.

On our way home from Waitomo after some R&R and this being the last of the trip as light had now disappeared for the day....Junior needed some attention, so off we went on the hunt for this one...the GPS was very unsettled so just had to search...finally found not where I expected, but none the less a find....
The cache was very wet, and I don't hold much hope for it staying dry after I squeezed the sponge out...
TFTC.

#454. Went out with a friend and two kids to get some geoaches around Te Awamutu. We were surprised how out in the open this one was, although GZ is most likely not somewhere muggles would come across by accident.
Nice to get another smiley in Te Awamutu. Last time I went caching in T.A. there were heaps of other geocaches around. The majority of them seem to have been archived, which is really sad! Although I'm sure there is a reason for it. If I still lived here full time, I'd like to add a few myself.
Thank you very much for the cache!

On a tight time schedule today, juggling getting to the various kids' sports games, but still keen to grab this one while in the area for one of their matches ... parked nearby, dashed along the path to find it closed due to a fallen tree lying right over GZ ... no muggles nearby so climbed over the closed tape & thankfully made a nice quick find, signed the log & off again, TFTC
1993 Sat and contemplated the possibilities and eventually decided on the right one.
Definitely a lot of natural camouflage on this one at present. We searched through a lot of leaves before stumbling on it. A peaceful area for a cache.
Had a good poke around for quite some time. However are now aware of the hint, which I didn't read properly at the time, was looking in a slightly different area, not too far though. There is always another time.
After a late start and a change of plan Rosmar and I headed south to grab a few of the more remote caches in the south that were badly in need of a visit.
Leaving Hamilton about 8am, with a few caches along the way, this being the first of them. The only other time that I visited there were kids playing amongst the trees and not being a dodgy cacher I quickly moved on when they appeared to being intent on staying for some time, knowing that it would be still here for my return.
Spent a lot of time when junior Dragon was a small kid playing at the park and feeding the ducks. I must say though the facilities have deffenitly undergone a considerable improvement
thanks for the cache, thanks for the placement

Plans were made with Cats & Dragons to have a leisurely caching Sunday picking up some remote caches in this area. With C&D doing all the driving it was a great opportunity take in the great scenery.
Leaving the Bay of Plenty at 6.00 am we drove through thick fog & icy road to met up with C&D in Hamilton for an 8 am start.
This was our first find for the day with no muggles around at this time of the morning. This was a spot we had visited many times during our time living in Te Awamutu and returning again to find previous cache hides that have subsequently been archived. TFTC.

Found with JayDubENT on our way back to New Plymouth from Matamata. Thanjs for the cache
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) on a cold and foggy Sunday. We planned to clear out a few more caches in the Waikato, but the desire to reach 5000 cache finds became too irresistible...
We had no idea where to start looking and scratched around in several locations. We eventually narrowed it down to one spot, cleared away the leaves, and located this hide. TFTC.

11.05am - Don't know how long this cache might last here. Perhaps when council cleans up the leaves they might take it with them. SLTFTC
Second attempt at this cache and pleased to say this one was successful. How I missed it the first time, i wouldn't have a clue. Beautiful park, just as peaceful as it was the first time. TFTC
Bit of a struggle with all of the leaves but it makes the find all the more gratifying.
Others were right. Very hard to find with all the leaves but got there in the end
Out with Alpenlich80, Evilno9 and 11hpg11 on our way to the Pureora's.
Signed as team Waihaha.
Had a good search around in the dark. Found it in the end.

Out with alpenmilch80, KiwiLeon and 11hpg11 on our way to the Waihaha hut for an overnight adventure and grabbing a few caches along the way. Took a bit of hunting around in the dark but got there in the end. Signed as team Waihaha - TFTC
After leaving behind the dense Friday Auckland Traffic some geocaching was in order together with KiwiLeon, Evilno9 and 11hpg11. TFTC
I found the stone seat and i found a few pungas and i even found a spot that i would imagine perfect for a cache. But unfortunatly i wasn't going to find this one today. A group of school kids put a stop to my searching. Beautiful park that i had never been to, so will be back on a drier day to look again.
Took a while to find, make sure to look all around you and don't trust the compass to much once you find the stone seat. Good luck.
Had to hunt for this as all the leaves had fallen but it was my accomplices first find! Loved looking for this one tftc
Took longer than it should have to find this little one. Our little cachet thought this was a great place for fairies
We visited TA over the Christmas period and found most of the local caches but we were surprised how few there are in the area and thought this would be a great spot for one. Arrived back today for a few days and was glad to see there was a new one for us to find. Love the hiding spot and it's the first time I've found a little black box container - very cute. TFTC and I hope you hide some more!
A bit of a large detour from a cache maintenance run I was doing today to get this one. Took a bit longer to find than it should of, but eventually spotted it peaking out from under it's leaf cover. Thanks for the hide.
Gottem walked down with my sister who lives up the road didn't know this place was here tftc
In the area with TF, TW & PNZ. A fragrant walk beside the roses to GZ. Cache was out in the open so rehid a bit better. Nice area. TFTC
After a great mornings walk up Kakepuku we stopped off for some refreshments and this cache on the way back to Auckland. Quite exposed but managed to recover slightly. TFTC
After much arranging of times and days we managed to team up with a bunch (is that the collective noun for cachers? Maybe a find of cachers?) to grab some caches in the area. Thanks.
Needing a dot day trip abs saw this had popped up since our last wander to T.A. Found between muggles, TFTC!
Well I know I said never again searching for caches on a bike but how easily I was persuaded. Beneficial for your health, apparently. This was our first search & find for the day. Off to a great start. The goal was to find Te Awamutu & Kihikihi caches.
Was an easy find by NZPatoto as it was not covered, (I found the spot). Left it well covered with leaves but the wind might have something to say about it. We were able to disguise ourselves from the muggles as exhausted bikers.

The first find for the day of our biking trip around Te A to find a few caches. Still getting use to using a gps on the IPhone. Using Nahkins knowledge to point out the hints. This was an easy find as it was exposed. Not now after gathering old fern fronds and covering it.
Would not believe how small the world is. We ran in to the cache owner while looking for the cache. After we introduced ourselves and chatted for a while we then went back to the hunt. The owner thought no one would be out now wrong. It is a bit funny caching while the owner looks on. After he explains what the flora was in the hint we had the cache in hand and off we went. Cheers
had to make a return trip south playing taxi service, so why not stop for a cache, a little harder to find than expected and not where I expected, soon found, signed and returned
Nice hide, managed to retrieve sign and return just in time before muggles came...TFTC
In town for a funeral, so stopped by on my way back to the city. Although raining, this is a beautiful setting. I have often visited the nearby rose gardens, but didn't even know this existed - I will be sure to return!
A quick wander of the area had me within a couple of meters, but I had to revert to the hint before I found the cache. Nice & dry, although the cut down pen leaks badly! Too much swag in here to leave anything - was very jam packed & a little difficult to extract the log, but I got there. SL. TNLN. TFTC! Keeping my current streak alive...!

Have replaced container to one slightly larger (Rectangle) due to Swag as noted. Removed leaky pen and replaced with a pencil, but BYOP in case. Installed silica gel packets for moisture control.
In the area doing some jobs with Mr hpg. Told him to stop here for a quick walk but he knew I had ulterior motives. A quick find once I found the right spot. Thanks for the hide.
On the way back from work, this was a nice little detour to these beautiful gardens.

Day tripping in the wonderful Waikato.
Popped by here and made a quick and easy find on a stinking hot day.
Cache in order; log signed, then safely re-hidden, just as found.
The hide leaves me with some doubts as to sustainability. A challenge to get the cache well camouflaged means that it is likely to be easily spotted.
TFTC found with Ms PDM , but no Sweet P in tow today
The Turtle strikes again!

Almost home from our trip south, and spotted this one published, so had to make a quick detour. nice park, joint FTF with warfi and corunnaroad. TFTC
Joint FTF with corunnaroad and moggyval. Thought we had finished for the day but then saw this waiting to be found. Thanks
Great to finish the day with a FTF with warfi and moggy val. Thanks for the hide
