Found this little cache on my way home at 6:30am. I was like, I guess I have time for a cache...then walked down the steps and spotted it right out in the open, and I said to myself, surely not, but it was.
All access to Fitzwilliam Reserve has been closed since December for refurbishment of the pathways. Since the floods on Auckland Anniversary Weekend there have been multiple slips and a sinkhole has opened up (per conversation with the workmen)
Headed on up to Long Bay today after an earlier attempt ended in a blown heater hose, resulting in an overheated mode of transport....then the next 4 hours were spent sorting out a tow etc...... Today was a much more successful trip......
Parked up and took the bikes for a jaunt around the park.....
After a very nice dinner nearby we decided to take a look at other nearby caches ......

On a caching mission this morning with Keylev. I had mentioned that I wanted to hit 100 caches this week. Managed to get up to 50 so today was going to be the big one!

Just hopped off the bus on Glamorgan Dr and trekked down through the valley and up the other side, where I finally managed to reach the peak and have a breather at the top of Fitzwilliam Dr. Not long later, I established where the walkway was and off I went, down a few set of stairs towards GZ. A muggle strolling around in his backyard, just over the fence got me a little worried, but fortunately he took no notice of me and walked away, which allowed me to reach in for a nice, quick find to start the day Upon signing the log, I can confirm the cache contents are all good. Replaced in the same spot, but with a little more cover so this one doesn't get mistaken for something else by the next door neighbour. TFTC cartman1978!
Super keen to collect some more caches and head out on a trip somewhere, I decided I'd bus up to Long Bay Regional Park and collect some of my unfound caches around the area this afternoon. It was a nice day for it - Not too hot, not too cold and ended up collecting exactly 20 geocaches over the course of nearly 6 hours on foot! No wonder I'm feeling absolutely finished right now, and especially because of some of the demanding terrain in the regional park. Thanks very much to all CO's who made this an enjoyable day for me

Quickly spotted at GZ as the neighbour was water-blasting his deck, moved away to the bush to sign the logbook then re-hid the cache. TFTC
#10,641. I have flown up for the mega event this weekend. Came early to get some caching done around Auckland. I was planning on doing the challenge caches in this area but East Coast Bays road was closed due to road works and so had to abandon that plan and instead do other caches in the area. This was one of them. Another very hot summers day in Auckland as well. Read the hint and that narrowed down the options. Saw a place where it looked like it might be possible to hide a cache and yes success. Signed the logsheet and returned the cache where found. Thanks cartman2978 for hiding it here.
A nice quick find thanks.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Whangapararoa, Plan B. Plan A was to drive the Ara-Weiti Road, but is only accessible for residents as East Coast Road is CLOSED over that junction.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Having a day to explore while staying in Orewa from Chch. First of the day for me. Tftc
Fairly quick find. LB was a little damp so drained the container of water and sat around for 10 minutes for the log to dry. Fortunately it was a nice warm day. TFTC
Found a nearby park and headed down to GZ. Missed on first pass but a check of the hint, and use of my eyes, meant it was located cowering behind a part-plank. All good and replaced as found. T F T C cartman1978
An unexpected lull in the work expected of me for the day meant I was able to get out and about for some exercise and a leg-stretch before knuckling back down later in the day. Despite the terrible weather on the day of howling Nor-Easterly winds and smatterings of rain showers I managed to stay dry, and on my feet. 16 cache finds, a few DNFs recorded and a couple of previous DNFs redeemed as found this time. Thanks to all COs.
In line with the NZ Geocache Reviewers guidance on what Covid Level 3, Part 1 looks like, geocaching IS permitted, but there are not to be any events or any new listings. It seems the NZ Covid website has failed to maintain pace with Lockdown level amendments and changes and is still lumping Geocaching in with Orienteering and other gathering type activities. After a long day of geocaching (and finding most of them) this was the last one on our way home. Happy to report this one was found too. Nice easy find, tftc.
What a beautiful day to go for a walk. Found it relatively easy. Thanks for placing. Little moist inside, not too bad.

We always enjoy visiting this pretty area and it was a bit of a treat to be back here caching again. Cache found quickly, no problems TFTC

Cache was out in the open at the side of the track. I put it back in its hiding place along with its camo.
BTW I was not breaking Level 3 lockdown, I was walking the dog, and cut through the reserve. I had hand sanitiser, used before and after handling the cache.

Great hop, skip and jump to gz. Easy very quick find and sign while on a tm mission thx.
Well it has taken 3 attempts to find it but we finally managed it this morning. Left it where it was. Rotten that we didn't get it earlier.
NZ Travellers have a big milestone in sight and a cache they are aiming for so they need to get their numbers up a bit for the stars to align at the right time. A plan was devised to hit this general area and a bonus of an event today! Weather was foggy when we started but the sun came out and we had a great day!
Quick find along the walkway.
Thanks for the cache.

We are working our way to our milestone 6000th cache find and are planning a trip up north in October to celebrate, therefore a caching day, to get a few numbers, was planned with Keylev and Laval. What started as a foggy and/or cloudy day (we couldn't decide which) turned into a glorious sunny spring day and after caching our way to Long bay for an event, we headed north to get some power caching done!
A quick cache on the way to the event at Long Bay - we will get to the event eventually TFTC!

Grabbing a few caches after the Long Bay event today whilst the weather is amazing. Thanks for the hide.
Quick find for us here today after we attended the Long Bay event. Thanks for the hide.
Have been meaning to do this cache for ages. You'd think that as it share the fence line with my Uncle & Aunts house, I would have. Just always seem to be rushing in and out, and not having time to search.
So today, now they were out, so i would get caught up talking, I made a special trip here and found the cache. TFTC

Had been to that place before, but before becoming a Cacher, so today me and Line_Moh decided to come back there and find some caches nearby. It was a quick finding. Signed as IMA ️

The cache was ok to find but the next cacher could help by taking a new log along! Tftc.
I'm down visiting the family. I'm after another 11 caches today to solve the mystery at the museum. There were three of the crew on board today but my 5 month old Grandson is supposed to be sleeping. I dashed down and quickly spotted the hide. TFTC
Took a little while as we weren’t looking in the right spot but eventually spotted it Tftc
As it was a long weekend and today being better weather than yesterday, work having been done around the house it was a chance to get out and find the odd cache in the company of 11HPG11.
Today we managed to find a grand total of 58 caches with only 9 DNF's along the way, and even managed to be home by 4,30pm so as not to annoy Mrs Dragon too much (although privately I believe that she may rather enjoy a day at home without an annoying husband being about the house).
Setting out from Hamilton nice and early meant that we managed to locate quite a few caches without any traffic to contend with, in fact Auckland is rather pleasant early in the day without both people and vehicles to contend with.
Having initally stopped at the wrong spot for access we reassessed the situation and approached froma different angle. this made access much more straight forward and shortly after 11HPG11 came up with the find.
Thank you to all the CO's for their hard work in making this day possible, in both the placing the caches and maintaining them. We both had a great day.

When Cats&Dragons suggested a day in Auckland collecting a few caches I was very keen. When I checked the weather forecast I wasn't quite as keen. Determined to stay dry I packed all my wet weather gears and my gumboots. Was happily surprised to not need any of this and we were treated to a stunning day of great weather and great caches. Logs were signed with either HOAC or a combination of our names.
Decided we didn't need an extra workout today so approached from a higher angle. A quick find once we found the correct fencepost.

In preparation for teaching the Rangers (older Girl Guides) about geocaching in the next couple of days, I had thought I had better do a bit of a reccie to ensure there were some in walking distance that we could successfully locate - thanks for providing the goods. I look forward to bringing them back in the next couple of days to find it
Wasn't too sure about this cache! I'm seeing various opinions going on here. I went down and I went back up again. LH side for the cache eluded me.... I should have read the description before I came down the stairs I suppose!! Eventually I found it, would have done so earlier if....
GPS zeroed out about 15 meters short of where it did last time, bent down and retrieved the cache.

Caching with TheMexiKiwi and made the short walk down to this one. Not too many places to look and the cache was soon found in a likely spot. All good here. TFTC
Quick find. Had to be stealthy as muggle over fence was on the phone. Cache all good, log dry. TFTC.
I didn't see the entrance as I drove past, but spotted it once I was parked. I count down and then saw something that was hiding the cache. Left: TElg78s Meet and Greet Marrakesh. I think this TB was supposed to go to events, so someone else will have to grab it and take it to the next event. TFTC.
Spent quite a while looking, pretty sure I covered all the obvious spots and some not so.
Nice quick easy find wile out driving around the shore tftc Lokky1 August 8, 2017 11:48
Found while passing the entry to the walkway. Took a little while before the cache was in hand, co-ords good but cache well hidden. TFTC
A quick easy find as we deviated out from our urban bushwalk to pick this one up. Thanks Cartman!
Found with Pazzabella while wandering through the nearby reserve. Pazza had this in her hand before I had even started looking. TFTC
Out and about for a day of caching fun. Cool breeze and sun make for excellent caching weather. I was passing by and decided to make this the first find for the day. After a small detour I found myself at the trailhead. A short walk bought me to GZ where I quickly spotted an item of interest. Cache was found on closer inspection. Nice to execute a super quick find here. Formalities completed it is time to hit the road again. Cheers for the cache placement!
I found this one at least a month ago and completely forgot to log the find. However as I don't recall the find date, i'm logging it as found today. tftc.
I live locally and never knew this reserve existed.
Thank you for the wonderful cache.

Headed over to Torbay heights this evening to make our daily cache find.Walked down the stairs and spotted the cache after checking out a few possible locations. TFTC
The notification came through just as we were heading out for a cache anyway. Arrived at GZ to find an empty log, our first {FTF} in wee while, tftc
