A short stop here today, managed to find the cache nicely hidden and all is well
With 2.5 days free and nothing to do, what better than to head to the yorke peninsula for a few days. I made a plan of trying to clean up majority of the caches on the peninsula going from cache to cache. Managed to come away with only a few left and 247 finds for the few day trip.
Thanks for the cache

Thanks Lib for this cache. I am usually a solo cacher but met up with Brisal5, Blackadders and S.A. Sewer Rats for a great day of caching in some lovely January weather. It was a great day of banter and laughter as together we clocked up another 100 or so in the Gone Fishn' series. Many were simply ‘fish in a barrel’ finds, some were a bit trickier especially when the throwdowns are some distance away from GZ. All caches were personally visited and signed with our own stamps. Some other caches in the area were also found along the way. This was one of them.
Thanks for the cache and the ongoing maintenance. Nice container, as always. We picked up a TB here, which was snaffled by the Adder, whose hand was first into the pot. We will observe its travels as time goes by.

The usual Wednesday wandering of the befuddled was postponed due to the heat to this much cooler Friday. With a couple of members already staying on the Yorke Peninsula the Adder picked up the Rat to meet the Starfish and a new member Oz Grumpy at one of the fishy tails series to attempt to find more of the hides to gain yet more smilies to work closer to finishing this monstrous task.
To break up the monotony we detoured to find a number of other hides in the area of which this was one. Cache was in good condition.
Thank you for the cache 3LG, found 14/01/2022, 3:59:05 PM

I wonder what the story behind the walls of those buildings would have to say about being forgotten. They would have been so amazing in their hey day. And now.. No roof, walls, windows. Even what seems like the old laundry looks forlorn.
Something unhappy about seeing a place that doesn't quite have the look of a home about it. Can those walls talk? Can't the roof still be found. The song goes around in my head as I made a reasonably quick find of a lovely cache which let me put a TB in it! TYFTC SLTNLN
Lovely day for caching... Easter Monday holidaying in Minlaton. Thought we would catch a few caches with Messy61. Tried our hand at fishing with no luck, caching much more lucrative. Really testing our vehicle today...lovely drive down a track and a gorgeous view from the cache. Such a lovely area. The old house of ruins would have had an amazing view in its day...beautiful... Another detour this time for gas as well as caches.
Very laid back small rural town, luckily we were in time (just) to get fuel.
Stopped for a bite to eat before continuing

Once more we set off to explore the Yorke Peninsula and grab as many caches as we can on our way. The weather gods have let us down a bit today, lots of short sharp showers interspersed with times where the sun is fighting its way thru the clouds. We have come to love this area in the weeks we have been here, and shake our heads at the times we have just driven straight past on our way to somewhere else. What a waste!
Lovely looking countryside at this time of year with everything green and lush. Really enjoying the drive to collect caches.
Mr Ski started looking and then I heard the cry “there it is, right in front of me!”

Hi there 3LG.
We found your cache **"As Time Goes By #7"** at 11:22:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 17246).
We started the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 17 caches today & DNF'd 4. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

First we must appologise for the generic logs.
We came to Yorke Peninsular with Speedmistress who hails from Queensland to cache our little hearts out and this we are doing.
We solved loads of puzzles prior to coming and with all the earth, multi, trads and puzzles there are here we were never lacking in variety.
When we found caches that needed repair we have done our best to do what was possible, unfortunately we have now rum out of spare containers, so no more repairs can be done. We have enjoyed the scenery, the walks, the animal life and the challenges that was encountered while traveling the Peninsular. Not all the caches have been attempted due to time restraints but those have been earmarked for future visits.
We also would like to thank Speedmistress for supplying our geocaching chariot.
A huge thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to enjoy.

Travelled from Queensland to meet up with Muff1 for a Geocaching extravaganza on the beautiful Yorke Peninsular. Our goal to Cache, Cache and Cache. Each day our "finds" have been growing in number, some days more productive then others. We have also been careful to take time to appreciate the natural wonder of the areas we have visited. A big thank you to all of the dedicated Cache placers who have made this possible.
GOTHs were out caching together with Aussie Mark in charge of our destinations. We always love stopping for a ruin cache. TFTC.
The GOTHs were back together for a couple of caching days. Today's crew was myself, Aussie M&M and mogni . So of course the travelling watermelon came out once again.
As usual it turned into fun and frivolity. Only two of the usual geocaching day out boxes of 'a fall' ,'blood being spilt', 'torn daks' and being 'outside my pocket query' were also ticked during the day. Where are we going I asked? Moonta area via Balaklava. So I only put 3,000 in - what are the chances we could stay in there. Absolutely none! - As usual. And the blood. - As Usual
Torches out as the sun began to set to find this one. Despite a stumble on the way back to the car, Mrs. M regained control and prevented that box being ticked. Thanks 3LG

The GOTHS where out on a day of geocaching, laughing and having fun.... Today's adventures were planned by Mr Aussie M & M and he had carefully planned a full day of great caches.... we did manage to talk him into a few extras.
Another great spot to stop and take in the views and find a cache.
Thanks

Found while on Yorke Peninsula with iluvtrekking. Fortunate to have amazingly clear, warm weather for duration of our stay which made for very pleasant caching. Today we headed to Clare picking up a few finds along the way. Thanks 3LG
Found with richlink as we slowly made our way north from Point Turton to Clare, picking up caches as we went. Thanks for your cache 3LG SA has so many of these historic spots.
Found It!
A quick find here on my way home. The old Gotat ruins. Named by one of early owners because after buying the property he though he had been deceived and had overpaid and hence was 'Got-At' I spent some time here as a kid exploring - in fact I think we even camped here a few times. Then only a couple years ago I helped rebuild the sheds to the east of the house which are now back in regular use. Dad has always wanted to fix the house up and make it liveable again but he never had the time and I don't think he really knows where to start...

(one day I'll get around to hiding a cache in the ruins!)

That old building is owned by my Dad - he has often mentioned that he would like to renovate it one day...
The property is know as "Gotat" and this name can be seen written above the front door (although it has faded away a lot over the years). I had always thought about putting a cache inside but never got around to it...
