**19,467**Was excited by the sounds of this cache and had a pretty good idea what to expect. We were not disappointed other than to find that the nano had been pushed so far in that no amount of prising or coaxing was going to get it out. In the end we had to take a photo as proof of the find as we could in no way recover the log to sign it. Hope this is acceptable suggest owner may need to do maintenance as they may have more time than we did to deal with the issue. TFTC
Found this little..actually big fulla hiding in its home nice and dry. Took us a bit to access it though and then when we flicked it out it flew through the air and into the pine needles it goes..took us a full 5mins to locate it again…so glad we found it or our tails would of been between our legs messaging the CO! Thanks for a cool hide.
Nice find here, yep fallen tree stuff everywhere, carefully move away and waaalaaa FP given by M13.

Admittedly I wasn't dressed for a thorough look for this one. Not an easy area to search in a skirt and jandles.
Went back with no kids and looked more carefully this time… Bingo! Think I may have tracked your footprints in, from checking on it earlier… Cheers
Yet another good cache visited today with woolwod9
We soon had the container located and log signed. **tm/ww NZ**

Hmm, not such a nice find thx. managed to sign off and leave as I found well hidden.
Parked my car right beside it. Hi-vis jacket on. Soon I had this hide in my hands. Well buried under some tree stuff. Container was inside the thing so I had to do little surgery to get it out. TFTC
Only light rain when we pulled up, but torrential whilst we were searching so retreated to the dry
Couldn’t find it after a good hunt. In other news police man pulled up on us and thought we were tagging or stashing.
The wandering GPS started to BUG me after 10mins or so until i came to the same tree for the 3rd time. Suddenly spotted something out of place and “hello”!
Couldn’t find the log, although i hear a rattle inside.
Photolog instead of signing.

Nice day for a drive out west, so decided to collect a few caches in Riverhead. We managed to park just out of sight of the muggles working outside on their trucks near GZ. Mrs Jag had the cache in hand before Mr Jag had got out of the car. Getting the log out was a little tricky so we headed back to the car and had to use a TOTT to extract the log. Log is a little damp, but we were still able to sign in on this one.
Had a bit rough day today with a few DNFs for one reason or another so fortunately this was the first find of the day through here. Initially not too sure where it might be and looked about - the clue gave me an idea what to look for but not so sure where to look.
In the end read through the logs and found a couple that were useful and that gave me enough of a guide to narrow down the search area. Found the nicely camoed cache - have one a little similar. Tricky to get into so went back to the car and used a TOTT to open it up. Got the log out, signed OK and returned. All good here, thanks for the cache.

#5542. I have flown back up to Auckland for several days to present a talk. Since I have come this far I have added some annual leave to the trip and hired a car so I can grab some geocaches. Decided today to head up north and start gathering up some of the Route 66 caches which I solved on the weekend. Ended up being a better day than expected with 57 caches found plus a few DNF's. Had to drive past #1 in this series as there was a huge queue of cars at the intersection this early stage of the day. This one was bit quieter, at least by Auckland standards. After roaming around like a headless chook I finally had my hands on it. Its a big one alright. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for the cache jard1037.

This morning I headed west to find some caches in my spare time before I had to get down to work stuff. After failing to find #1 I was hoping for a better result at #2. Took a bit of a search but I eventually got my hands on the little beast. TFTC, Biggles.
Out this afternoon working on our 365 Day Challenge. Found No. 1 then decided to find them all. Gps was a bit off here. Read a note from the CO in the logs that helped us. Tweezers and a log roller certainly helped here. Great container. Loved the hint. Thanks jard1037.
Pulled up expecting a fairly quick find, but that was definitely not the case. GPS had us out a bit and after a thorough search of the wrong area we decided to continue on. Mr. B. was pretty much on his own here as Mrs. B. had read the logs, knew what was being searched for and is definitely NOT a fan. Several hours later we came back to this one on the way home and found it straight off after meeting up with the CO at a different cache and learning we'd been searching the wrong area. ah well, happy to find and log this one, TFTC.
Out with Cats&Dragons on a late night - early morning cache run. Logs were signed MCCD but may have varied a bit as tiredness settled in. Thanks for placing this cache and giving us a reason to visit
Out and about for some geocaching fun today. I only got rained on twice whilst hunting down smilies. I decided it was time to tackle this series and set about finding them in order. I parked up next to GZ and got to searching. Searched for several minutes in all the wrong spots. Eventually noted a note from the CO on the cache page and changed my plan of attack. A short while later and the little bug-ger was in hand. I think the coordinates were a little out for me. Cheers for the cache placement!
Very nice cache container. Log was hard to extract, but I was parked right there, so I accessed my tweezers and got the job done. TFTC.
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is ten. The area selected was the road surrounding the Riverhead Forest.
After not finding it back in March I decided to have another look today and there it was.
Cheers for the cache.

Quickly found - nice camo! Had to take back to car to extract the container and while I was there, a couple of guys from Chorus stopped to look at the nearby grey power thing. Luckily they didn't stop for long and I was able to put the cache back. Added FP. TFTC
Appointment finished early and need to contribute to gain the souvenir so hurried off to pick this one up while in uniform. Such a busy road. Hopefully this isn't my only geocache for the week. Thank you for having another close to home for a quick grab
Back with evilno9, TheMexican & liketips for another go. This time it was straight forward find. TFTC
Luckily evilno9, A80, TheMexican and I could all handle the container, which we found quick and easily. Nice hide, TFTC
Out with TheMexican today for a few caches out this way. Had failed here previously with alpenmilch80, but managed a superquick find here today in a spot I'm sure we'd covered off - obviously not well enough... TFTC
Checked it today. It's still there, just covered with a bit more "natural" camo. (Pine trees will do that)
We were out this morning and early afternoon for a little gathering at Long Bay Beach, and we decided since we were out here to head out and grab a few of our unfound caches in the area. Had a suspicion as to what kind of container we were looking for, but just had to wait to the splur of people to leave the nearby shop before we could make the search without looking too suspicious! Thanks for the hide, hopefully will pick up the bonus and the other in this series sometime soon!
First one for the day. Thought it was about time I headed out this way to find the caches in the area. Was not sure what to expect when I read the hint, but realised it's meaning when I found the cache.
I stopped here yesterday on my way to meet some fellow cachers and go up the creek for the COs kayak cachers but there were 2 chaps standing very close to GZ having a conversation and as they were watching me, after pretending to be on the phone I drove off. It was nice and quiet this evening and after a brief search I made the find of the creepy crawlie.

Coordinates changed to:

Distance from original: 31.6 feet or 9.6 meters.
I knew the original co-ordinates were a tad out so with my new Garmin, I have updated them.

Took us a few minutes but soon uncovered this little blighter. Daily cache found. May be back tomorrow for another. TFTC
Up in the area for a meeting this arvo from the sunny headquarters of N Z, aka Blenheim and the South Island. With a grey and dreary outlook, and spells of unwelcome rain, it was still a good chance to find a few caches in an area that I spent 5 weeks in last year and found many caches. But there are always more to find!
Meeting up with fellow South Island cacher G H 6 7 1 0 we headed out in the hire car and headed along towards Riverhead then a lazy 'loop' back towards Albany and a 'few' caches as we went along. Started up with the recently placed Riverhead power trail of 5 trads and an unknown followed by a tasting of 11 other trads.
Thanks to all the C O s whose caches we found, all were enjoyed and my decent shoes have been shown what mud is after a few months of dry terrain.
Took a few minutes then widened the search a bit and struck success.

This one took a while to find. Like others I had to search wider but thankfully found in the end. These cache still makes one jump a bit when discovered. TFTC
Took a wee bit of searching but nothing did a paf and got put further a field and soon found cache a wee bit off from co ords tftc Lokky1 22 July 2016 10:39 AM
Out with lokky1 on the road to riverhead. Searched for a while and lokky1 eventually got a hint before we found this one!
Finally found it on third attempt. Had a pretty good idea what I was looking for. Looked in every nook and cranny and then, there it was just sitting there. Have really struggled with this series for some reason. Such a busy road as well.
Figured out what the camo was going to be but had real trouble here, obvious once found but found co-ords about 7-9m out. TFTC
Decided to finish off this new Riverhead Series as I had a couple of hours free this morning !
Second time looking here , last time was in the dark . A lot easier in daylight ! This one is a bit different for sure ! Thanks Jard !

This took a little longer than expected as the GPS for both me and Gorby put us significantly further down the road than where we eventually found the cache...great cache, had me going for a minute there...cheers V.
Parked close to GZ this evening and found the cache in the first place I looked. Extracting the log took a bit longer! Tried to leave it wound up a bit tighter. Loved the container. Thanks.
I picked this cache for this morning and it was actually my second attempt - it turns out the first time I was looking write a way out.
Cool little cache, the other times I've seen these they required a bit of a blind grab so naturally I poke them with a stick first.

After the CITO at westgate headed up to get these new ones close by, with FMZ, Vista, Hariscree, urbangypsy, rustynz and rebel (signed as Team CITO). Not sure why this wasnt found before, but we will take joint FTF, was just there.

Nice cache. Didnt take long to find. On our 3 day road trip from Hawkes bay to Auckland and back. Great few days to grab a number of caches. Tftc
Out with Voshed, who I met on No.1, so together we are doing this series. I was searching by the sign to no avail, but it was Roger who found it further away south. Wouldn't want one of these near me if it was real. We get back in my car and I suddenly remembered we have to gather numbers for the final. *"Quick Roger... go and see if any numbers appear on that object"* there were none so off we back tracked to no.1 in the series just to check and got the numbers of that. ***Whew!*** Then and only then we travel to no.3.

After the CITO, a quick plan was made to try the series as 2 of them are open for FTF. we attempted this one first, didn't wanted to risk the chance of FTF, and we were welcomed with a clean blank log. FMZ made a quick find here. tftc. #42[FTF]

Haven't been caching much recently so after the CITO at Westgate, a group of us decided to head off and have a look at this new little series of caches, particularly as one had not apparently been found. Thought it was going to be difficult, but had it in hand within about 2 minutes surprisingly, and still an {FTF} for our group. FTF #19xx TFTC!!!
After getting wet at the Westgate CITO event, a group of hardy cachers (including myself, rebel98, urbangypsynz, rustynz, harisree, yorkshirekiwi83 and FMZ) going by the name of "Team CITO" headed off in the pouring rain to complete the Road to Riverhead series, mainly lured by the prospect of an FTF or 2. Didn't take long for FMZ to spot this one, opened it up to find a blank log and the joint FTF was claimed by the group! TFTC!
{FTF} After attending a nearby event, two car loads of cachers came out to Riverhead on a quest. rebel98, urbangypsynz, rustynz, harisree, yorkshirekiwi83, vistra and FMZ. The log has been signed "team CITO"
Easy parking found, then it was a mad scramble looking for the elusive hide. Luckily a quick find, with FMZ making the find. Thanks for the hide and the adventure

Attending the local cito it came up that the FTF was up for grabs, we were soaked and cold and I had not yet put my slippers on so off caching we went. We were rewarded with a nice clean log sheet. Signed as Team Cito. My second FTF in as many months, shocking FP very clever cammo
I have been saying to speedhog62 for awhile now that riverhead needs more caches. Arrived here to find firemansam hunting. We gave up and moved on. This one we will come back too.
