I have an afternoon caching between Hamilton and Pukekohemixed success so far. Tree caches are my bte noir and this proved no exception. Thanks eyespyben#5368Logged using Cachly.
Mrs NZT and I decided to have a road trip day today. Left home at 6.30am (crazy I know when we are on holiday but then this is holiday enjoyment for us!!!), drove lots of kms all over the place and back home in time for dinner with a nice haul of smiles (we mostly had smiles today woohoo).Phew we were very lucky to spot this one so quickly today...yay!Thanks for the cache.
This cache was sticking out like a sore thumb as i made my approach so i moved it up just slightly higher. It was a bit stubborn and didnt want to open and then when i got it open the log didnt want to come out so it certainly put up a fight but i conquered in the end. Thankyou for the cache.
Cache blends in so well in the morning sun. Quick find.
All peace and quiet here.
I like this series.
Thanks for hiding and maintaining. Tftc

Headed down this way today with the intention of collecting the Pickup 52 trail of caches, and any others along the way....as am in need of some numbers for my goal for the year.....
Thank you to the CO's for cache placement, and bringing me to these locations.
After locating all I could of the Pickup 52 series, I was still left with quite some time before heading home....in other words it was still light, so I went in search of other caches on lesser travelled roads for me.........

A quick find here, the bison could do with a new "O" ring. The last finder did it up so tight.

A nice quick grab on our way to Auckland for the long weekend. Nothing like heading to Auckland when all the Aucklanders are leaving!! TFTC

Quick park and grab although i couldn't spot it, my partner did easily enough. Great little hide TFTC!
We made a mediocre attempt to find this one about two years ago in the pouring rain and failed so have been keen to remedy the situation ever since.
Today we returned in much better weather and were pleased to locate the cache quickly.
As we signed the log we thought we had been muggled by a nearby dog however it turned out that it was barking at cows.
But we didn't take any chances and made a hasty retreat as soon as we had returned the log.
Thanks eyespyben.

Quick find out with team Gold. Luckily could see it from the car as the drizzle has just started again.
Down from Northland for the weekend with the prime objective being to do the Hakarimata Trail. That was delayed a day because of the weather, so we ended up doing the Waikato River walk today and getting soaked in the process. After Team G0LD dried out at the pub, we then headed off for some more caches on the way back to our accommodation.
After a short detour off the main road, we stopped beside this one, which was a nice quick find in the hint location, as we managed to actually spot it from the cache mobile. TFTC

Our main aim for today is the Waikato River walk as the weather is too dodgy for the Hakarimata track. We're just filling in the area a bit. A nice quick find here, TFTC
Today I'm starting my road trip home from Auckland to Nelson with my newly acquired convertible cachemobile. I'm going to be finding a few caches along the way. TFTC, Biggles.
Another nice quick park and grab. Thanks for placing. The local farmland is looking rather dry this time of year.
A nice winters day on our way to Auckland we stopped to look for this cache. Took a bit to find but eventually my eagle eyed daughter spotted it. A busy road. Thanks
Another stop on our journey today to find this cache. It took a lot of searching to find this well camouflaged cache.
I think the farmer is use to people looking in the trees. Felt like someone was watching me. Lol He just waved and smiled. Tftc
This one took a bit of patience, both scanning site and trying not to look suspicious to the passing cars. A well disguised cache. TFTC.
On the homeward journey today via a maintenance run on the 309, with a few cache finds thrown in. Haven't driven this road ever so have taken a long detour to make some cache finds. Nice hide here. SL. TFTC.
I think we had to miss the bus stop hide as a muggle was parked up, with feet up, with no plans to move anytime soon
So here I am searching, and searching, took a little longer to find, but there it was
Not a pill bottle, a "bison" I just love.... finding them LOL
Thanks eyespyben for another hide of yours that we found today (with rebel98)

On a bit of mission today to clean out the are after a ftf nearby boy the sand flies are big here. Tftc
Time to start heading down the island towards home in Feilding, however I’m stopping if in Rotorua for a night at the holiday home that they have rented for a couple of days.
I set off early and I didn’t want to spend too much time caching prior to Auckland as I wasn’t sure what the traffic was going to be like through the city. However I decided to grab a few on the way. Got through Auckland in good time and now I’ve got a bit more luxury for some more caching.
Quick find which was good because something was happening in nearby stockyards. TFTC

One of ten located, mostly on the Tahuna-Ohinewai Road, as we headed towards SH1 on our way to Auckland. Made hard work of this one. Didn’t know in which tree to look. Couldn’t find it in the first tree, so looked in two or three others. At that point I enlisted the help of Mrs tbird who had been waiting patiently in our car along the road. Of course as soon as she arrived I spotted it in the first tree I had started looking in! #2136. TFTC.
Heading down to our Waikato base this afternoon to pick up a few caches and attend this evenings Event. Slightly overshot GZ but just a short walk from the van to make the Barn Find. Thanks.
Fabulous day out met up with Aiden29, Merlot58 & Jag50 and have signed Logs as McJAM to save room on the log sheet, MANY THANKS for the placement, Much Appreciated. Cheers
Made plans to head back down here and complete the Eyes have it series along with Merlot58 and Jag50. Signed as McJAM to save time. Missed this on the first pass in the fading light, but as I turned around to have another look I spotted the camo cache.
Heading south for the day with Merlot58 and Aiden29 to complete the eyes puzzle series. Met up with McJandals and signed the logs as McJAM. Apologies for the cut and paste logs... but we found 100 caches in total today! Last cache for the day. TFTC
Having completed the Eyes series we did a couple of nearby traditionals before heading home. A nice quick find here
Another quick stop although we found in the second place checked. All good here, TFTC!
Out and about enjoying a drive around the Waiakto country side this afternoon. With work out of the way for today, I can focus on my leisurely pursuits. Namely, finding geocaches. I parked up near GZ and got to searching. No luck at the first potential GZ I checked. Had better fortune at the second were I made the find. The rubber seal has gone on this one, by the way. Anyway, cheers for the cache placement!
Our third find for today, on our way to do the puzzle caches in the Eyes Have It. The weather is starting to warm up so good to get a nice quick and straightforward find here. It is quite a nice barn but since we are out geocaching and not barn spotting we didn't stay too long but headed off. All good here, and thanks for the cache.
Heading back home after a successful bout of power trailing with alpenmilch80 and themexikiwi and we stopped in here for a few extra caches for the day.
Quick look around and we soon had the cache in hand and carried on back up the road. TFTC

After collecting some eye geocaches in the area Themexikiwi, evilno9 and I made a quick stop for this one on our way back to AKL. Signed log as Team MC. TFTC
On a big day trip with KirsTim and yorkshirekiwi83, the goal of the day was to tackle the Eyes Have It Series, and a select few others on the route. Thanks to all the cache owners for their placements and maintenance, we really appreciate all the work into cache ownership! A great day for driving and hunting down caches, no issues or problems were had.
A straightforward find, thanks for the hide!

Vamber, KirsTim and myself decided to tackle some of the Waikato caches today, or rather focus on the eyes have it series and anything we came across on route. Thank you to all the cache owners for their cache placements, they are very much appreciated. It was a hot day with the threat of thunder storms (which we got on the drive home) and ended up suffering for hayfever for the first time in my life, legs attacked by long grass but this is all in the life of a cacher, we had no issues with farmers or the like.

Out on a bit of a cache run, even though its a little rainy. Oh Well. I'm all booked in to Rotorua for the night, so on I go.

I could not believe my luck!!! Just after a couple of weeks of having been up north, I got an unexpected invite to AUT, with an opportunity to come up the weekend before (=do some caching!!). With flights and accommodation sorted, I was more than happy to invest in a rental car for the weekend TFTC!!
Early start heading to Matamata then onto Taupo for a day trip. No one about on the road before 8am so we stopped off for a stretch and to grab this. Nice easy find, thanks
Leaving Huntly on a caching expedition to Hamilton via some back roads today.
My GPS took me to the wrong tree, but Ms M found it quickly.

After being cooped up inside all week with bad weather, sick child and school holidays I had scheduled in today for some 'me time'. I had planned to clean up around Hamilton but after finding a few urban hides I was well and truly over it and decided to head into the country for some peace and quiet and some nice country roads.
A nice little stop and a nice old barn. Spotted the cache on approach thankfully, I seem to struggle finding this sort of hide!

This took a few minutes to find as the natural camo and weathering is doing a great job ...great old barn ...thanks for the great placement Eyespyben
I've never noticed this barn before, usually on a mission one way or the other. Nicely camoed. Thanks for the placement eyespyben.
Decided to take the scenic route to Auckland and try a few caches on the way. Having found a spot to leave the TB I had, I made this my last cache. TNLN. TFTC
This was to be my last cache before heading home, parked up close to the cache and under the light of my head torch it was found in the first spot I checked, how about that??
Up in Auckland for the weekend with Team bop (myself Philip.Perry and TNXPRO ) collecting a few of the puzzles we have solved. We had an long tiring weekend but still managed to stop for caches on way home.

Has been a long weekend of caching in Auckland and on the way home we still had time to pick up a few.
Thanks for bringing me here.

TEAM BOP had descended upon Auckland with a pocket full of solved puzzles and now we're heading home. The cache was found quickly and in good condition thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward hint. Cheers Ben, TFTC.

A late night weekend caching trip. There was no muggles around as it was really late/early morning.
Found it easily. TFTC

On an impromptu caching raid into the Waikato, a quick find in the company of harisree. All quiet at GZ and a nice quick find. TFTC!!!
During the monthly 18@18 event Kiwi69 mentioned an interest in taking off for an afternoon of Geocaching and since I had not returned to work yet and my wife was agreeable to the idea a plan was quickly hatched. Kiwi69 popped around for some lunch and then we shot off heading north with me driving and a rough plan in place. I really enjoyed the drive, the Geocaching and the company. Thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches we found and for maintaining them.
It took us a minute or two to eventually spot this one. Certainly became easier once we were searching the right hint item!

A very enjoyable catch up with local geocachers at the monthly 18@18 event last night in Hamilton also led to a very impromptu mini-mission with IamMrWalker to cache along the Tahuna-Ohinewai Road this afternoon. My recent knee op limits my caching options for the time being, but its great to be out & about finding caches again and these drive-by placements that don't require much walking or deep knee bends are absolutely perfect! This was another that was ideally located for me, once we'd worked out which hint item! log signed, cache all good, TFTC
