My partner and I are on a road trip from the NSW/Vic border to WA for a wedding. We stopped in today to visit this site. The small waterhole was quite unexpected and it is lovely to see so many wildflowers along the way.Answers sent to CO this evening.
Camped at the campground for the night. On our way to the Eyre Bird Sanctuary. Fascinating place.
On our trip caravanning around Australia we stayed at the camp close by. Came to checkout the water holes on the rock. Thanks for the cache
#5656 Answers submitted. We arrived here not long before sunset on our travels west to explore WA. Today a long drive from Eucla. After setting up the geojayco at the nearby campsite it was off with the geohounds to visit the rock and the pool. A good amount of water in the pool although a bit nippy for a paddle today. A great spot worth exploring. TFTEC Chrisval7.
An impressive rock! With the trad nearby, it was a good little break from the long stretches of highway.TFTEC!Answers sent
Find number 13688 at 7:08:57AM on Wednesday the 28 August 2024We're on our way to WA Goes Big, travelling from Croydon (Melbourne, Victoria) with a caravan in tow and making a leasurely caching holiday across the Nullarbor and back. After spending last night at Newman Rock free camp we head west again to Norseman and then south towards Esperance (but probably stopping at Salmon Gums), just driving, caching, golfing and enjoying the views Woke up this morning and went for a walk with the misses and we were amazed by the expanse of the rock.**Thanks for placing this cache Chrisval7**---*WOW, so much happening here in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
Parked at the camping area and walked down the track. A wow moment as I picked my way across the granite slab to the lagoon What a fab spot! I didnt have time for walk-in caches on this side of the highway on the drive west, so happy to do a few inland trails on the way back east. So glad I stopped here. The scenery is spectacular!!! It would be magic to camp out here overnight.Logged the trad, sent my EC answers, took a swag of photos TFTC Chrisval Dropping off a **FAVE**
We were there at 2:48 PM.We have camped at Newman Rocks a couple of times previously and at those times we could camp right on the rocks! However we see now that it is blocked off for camping and there is a whole new area in the bush to camp.Lots of water pools around today after the recent rain. We also noticed that the vegetation along the Eyre Hwy has suddenly brightened up and is no longer a dull brown colour. Thanks to Chrisval7
Found with SJG66. Have done a lot of caches at rocks like this in the last few days. This one has the best water hole. Answers sent. TFTEC
We stayed the night at Newman Rock campground so it was a late afternoon visit to the EC. It's highly unusual to see a waterhole in this environment. We made our observations, changed our mind on answers 2 and 3 numerous times, wandered further over and found a great example of a dyke. This was all done before the mozzies arrived on dark. Sadly mozzies like waterholes too. TFTEC Chrisval7. Answers sent.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 18 - Caiguna to Norseman via Balladonia. The first part of the day was 200km straight (almost) to Balladonia. Lots of flys and a nice burger for lunch. Then it was off to Norseman, another 200km, but not as straight this time, and quite a few hills to deal with as well. I stoped for three caches along the way, two short walks and one longer hill climb. A beautiful sunny and not too warm day. I got set up in Norseman and then went for a walk into town. Very quiet for a weekday afternoon.I did a traditional cache here some time ago, and today I was back to have a closer look at the rock formations. I really like how it has been utilised to collect water, even if a concrete ridge has been added. Not that much water here today, but enough for who needs i now. I have put together some answers and sent them off. Thanks for the cache Chrisval746746.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 Compass Rose Novaya Zemlya A#333**Albida**
On our travels we found ourselves traveling west and took the opportunity to grab some caches on the way, we would have driven past if not for the caches, so thanks for bringing us to this amazing place
Nothing better on our travels than to be guided to outstanding locations by earth caches and geocaching generally. Geocaching leads us to so many unusual or seldom seen places. After messaging our answers to the CO, we can see that one of our last dialogues with them was in regard to their earth cache at Carnarvon Gorge. Thanks Chrisval7 for taking time to show us some amazing locations this country offers. A FP for sure. Domsky
Is there a granite rock in WA without a cache at the top? At least we didnt have to climb this one from the bottom. Answers sent, TFTC
What an amazing surprise location. Water in this area is like gold. There was evidence of so many animals around the waterhole. Answers sent to CO. Tftec
Great little fine on the way to Norseman, well done putting an earth cache here, we would not have stopped otherwise and seen this amazing landscape
We pulled in here due to this Earthcache and loved the spot so much, decided it was going to be the perfect spot for camp. We went for a walk and gathered our answers and then took a longer walk around the area back to the van. Had a great peaceful night here. Thanks Chrisval7
Driving across the Nullarbor and using earth caches as stops. This one did not disappoint. Thanks for bringing us here

What a beautiful spot, and free camping to boot!! I love the spots Geocaching takes you to. We are on a mission from WA to QLD and back to pick up our caravan and couldn't resist a few sneaky caches on the way.

Visited this earthcache during three weeks away with e.gregory1 on a trip along WA's Great Central Road and a caching circuit of the WA Goldfields. We travelled North on the Stuart Highway and out to Kings Canyon to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. From there we headed in a south-westerly direction along the Great Central Road with a number of detours along the way, including Surveyor Generals Corner and Empress Spring. Then it was down to Laverton and Leonora before turning South to Menzies and Kalgoorlie. A few days were spent on a circuit back up to Lake Carey and around to Queen Victoria Spring before returning to Kalgoorlie, then out to Coolgardie, Kambalda and Norseman, and heading for home along the Eyre Highway. Today we traveled from west of Norseman to east of Caiguna finding caches along the way. Thanks for the interesting earthcache Chrisval7!
We stopped by here for the night and ended up staying for 2. Today I hiked out to the salt flats in the distance and saw camels along the way, great spot. answers sent. Tftc
TFTEC. Loved coming here and walking to this granite outcrop. What an amazing geological structure. Had morning tea here and spent some time exploring. Found a claw near the waters edge. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley in NSW. I’ll send my answers asap.
Travelling west and this spot highlights a transition geologically. Habitat wow factor high and what fab views of the surrounding area. Would love to camp here. Took the opportunity to ‘look’ at the eclipse the old fashioned way - yep a pinhole in the paper trick! Answers sent. TFTC and info

A nice oasis break in the heat and long drive.
Husband took a cool dip but the water is freezing.
The marsh / horse flies are evil here so be warned. We both killed several upon land on ourselves.
Here's a good picture of the area!

Staying the night at Newman Rock, this earth cache had to be addressed. I have cobbled together my answers and sent them to the CO, Hoping they pass muster.
Found on our WA journey. Quite a pretty area but very cold and windy today. Answers sent.
I see a cached has logged a DNF for this earthcache. I will message them to advise what an earthcache is and that it doesn’t exist in a physical sense.
We are on our way home after a few weeks in South Australia grabbing some unique DT caches and filling in a couple more South Australian LGA's
We camped near here overnight and I headed out to this one on my morning run. We had camped on the road in all by ourselves but when I arrived at the gate there were a dozen other caravan around. A popular spot.
I have been here before to grab a traditional and the area has changed a bit since then. I think we drove righ to the rock last time.
I managed to get some nice sunrise shots (I was still on South Australian time). Grabbed the required info and sent to CO.
This was find number 1 for the day.

We were lucky to visit after rain. Lovely pools of water. Enjoyed a cuppa and piece of cake while taking in the scenery. Mr matmob even found a few mushrooms which we cooked for tea! This would be a lovely spot to camp but we need to get further west tonight. Thanks so much for setting up this earthcache.
Nice little walk around here today. Will log answers when we better signal at Norseman
Day Five of the Perth to Adelaide road trip; Grass Patch to Madura.
Thank goodness for all these geocaches and earthcaches to break up the long drive across the Nullarbor. A nice break from all the limestone here, and a great spot to stop for a walk and a think before pressing on. Looks like there has been rain here recently too. I’m surprised there weren’t animals around the pool.

This is a great spot for a short walk, There is a newish looking gate about 300 meters back from the cache that may not have been there for long. It is an easy walk in though and worth it. The views are fantastic.
Had a long hot walk accompanied by hoards of flies. Gate across track padlocked. TFTC
Almost like walking on a different planet when on this monolith. The birds were enjoying a swim in the water.

It was the second day of the drive back to Adelaide after visiting family in Perth. Whilst there was the desire to get a decent amount of travel done today, there was also the need to stop for a few caches along the way. Stopping every now and then for the few unfound caches that were left along this part of our drive provided a good excuse for a stop to stretch our legs. All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

Great location. We stayed the night it was so peaceful. Thanks Chrisval7, a fave from us.
One of our favourite stops crossing the Nullabor. No camels or emus spotted this time though. Great to find some water here from a shower of rain 2 nights ago.
Schöner Platz für eine kurze Pause und ein bisschen Geologie.

No water today and no sign of any stranded (dead) camel. There was plenty of fresh urine and scat around the rock though. I saw some piccies of when the hole is full of water and it looks really nice. Email sent to owner re questions. TFTC.

A great place to visit and camp. Sadly our visit here had a poor camel helplessly stuck in the mud pool. We had no way of helping it out. We rang park and wildlife and other visitors were going contact help as well. Hope it survives. There was heaps of yabbies on top of the mud as well. How do yabbies get out here?

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Kimba to Border Village.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Earth-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Chrisval7' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Newman Rock Waters' and for the smiley. The search to find the correct answers here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

Had a lovely time here as spent a night camping and even saw a camel wandering around! The watering hole was very low, but still a fair bit of water. Travelling with HRH54 who is sending our joint answers to the CO. Thanks for creating this earth cache.
Enjoyed the challenge of this Earth Cache as we discussed the Questions with Juju54 who we are travelling with. The water hole is very low and shows obvious signs of being a favourite meeting place for camels (droppings everywhere) We were also lucky to see a lone camel. We stayed the night then headed East in the morning ...Thank you for taking the time to place an Earth Cache here.
Continuing on our trip heading west towards WA crossing the Nullarbor.
There are nice views from here of a salt lake. There were cattle near the lakeresting in the shade. We also saw an emu.

Catching up with very late logs.
After a great trip along the Canning Stock route and then visiting friends in Gerald ton it was now time to start heading home, of course stopping along the way to pick up any caches that appeared on the screen.
We pulled in here with a feeling of de-ja-vue and then realised that we had camped here many years ago, pre caching days. We headed off to gz where we really enjoyed collecting the information while taking in the fantastic scenery and the pools had plenty of water in them due to the recent rain.
We have sent the answers off to the CO and recieved a very quick permission to log.
Many thanks Chrisval7 for bringing us here and teaching us a bit more about this great country we live in. A favorite point from us.

Heading further into WA with ilook4geo and our travels continue along the highway, this was one of the caches on the list that we wanted to do today. It was a quiet morning and there was nobody in the area at all. This was a rather surprising feature and well worth the visit. We looked, we worked out answers and these were sent to the CO. It was a very enjoyable oasis and we took a walk over quite a lot of the rock.

Loved it here, birds and wildflowers great. A great camping spot too. A favourit point for this.
Visited Newman Rock today on our way home to Tassie, via the Nullarbor.
Grabbed the traditional cache here and then headed off to the coordinates for this one when the heavens opened. Dashed back to the campervan instead and waited out the rain. When it eventually stopped we headed back down the rock to GZ where we attempted to come up with some answers. These have been emailed to the CO but we are never very confident about tackling earthcaches!!!!
Thanks, a top spot to visit and would have been a nice place to stay overnight if it had been later in the day.
