First day of the summer holiday for M14, so I thought let's start with an overnight tramp to the Waihaha hut. It was his first overnight tramp and he did really well! 4 hours with his own pack on our way to the hut and 3,5 hours return the day after. It was warm so M80 ended the track with a nice swim in the cold river.
We left this one for the next day as it was already getting late on our trip to the hut. We found the little track up the waterfall with the cache at GZ. Thanks for hiding.

Nice little spot to stop on our way out from the hut! This one turned out to be a pretty quick find after getting to GZ, it was lying on the floor next to the tree. It might need some rethinking since that keeps happening! Bit of a dodgy path up too, just be careful out there everyone! TFTC
We had a nice picnic lunch today overlooking the waterfall. When we got to the viewpoint my son found this cache without my turning on the GPS. A great place for a cache and a nice place to go for a family outing. TFTC
Out for a walk today to the Waihaha Hut - cold and foggy start but by the time we got here the sun was coming out. Left the track and climbed up and got to the cache which was still nicely secure in the correct spot thanks to Davidson clan Added a new log sheet and double bagged it so hope all good now It is a lovely spot and good to keep the cache going. TFTC
Out for a day tramp with my son ApacheD and Kirsty . The weather wasnt the greatest with quite a bit of rain we had our wet weather gear so we were dry . Walked in to Waihaha hut and had our lunch then returned to car. It was a great days hike a little cold when we stopped for lunch . This cache was found on the ground below the three forked tree with no log sheet so couldn't sign log book put cache back in the tree the CO or next person will need to take a waterproof logsheet .

Found with sveppi on our first overnight tramp of the new season. Started the walk at about 2PM and made pretty good time. Nice detour to find this little track and waterfall. Cache was a bit disappointing, I must have the wrong pen because it never seems to write on write-in-the-rain paper! Anyways, it's threatning to rain so we can't stay and explore some more, although I am very tempted to come back and follow that track some other time.
On the way to Waihaha Hut with fanfan-77. I have walked this track a few times before but never stopped to appreciate the waterfall here. Nice little side track and an interesting spot. We have had plenty of rain recently so the gully and the falls are quite full. TFTC
Woohoo! My first FTF! Found with my son Charlie on a mum and son tramp. And it almost didn't happen because my phone didn't finish loading the query before we set out. Fortunately there's about 200 m of cell service on the ridge and I locked onto this cache. There's a few little trails to the right area but I would say DON'T take the one closest to the stream as it was really sketchy. I left a tiny bell. TFTC.
Here on placement - awesome spot and well chosen with KiwiLeon, 11hpg11 and alpenmilch80. Cheers team
Not claiming FTF as I was with owner at placement!
After spending a fun but cold night in the Waihaha Hut with the KiwiLeon, Evilno9 and 11hpg11 we walked ourselves back to the cars. Such a different track during daylight. We found the little path and started exploring discovering a beautiful waterfall. We decided to search our backpacks for a geocache to bring other people to this great spot enjoying the waterfall and the clear river. TFTC
