Beautiful sunshine and amazing scenery.
The wind was chilly and Cloncurry was definitely colder than we were expecting.
We came for a walk in the morning and had such a great time watching some amazing birdlife around the dam.
Our walk took us to GZ where are we made a quick find, and added our name to the log.
Thanks Davidnarelle

Found at 4:14:00 PM(t) GAFF1.
A bit out of the way spot which would be excellent to camp in if it were llowed. Beautiful view of the lake and the hill in the background.
Thanks DavidNarelle.

We spent a couple of nights in Mount Isa enjoying having a look around. The first afternoon and the next morning were taken up doing the bison series after which we headed back to town picking up as many caches as we could.
Today we e decided to clear up a few caches in town and surrounds before heading to Cloncurry for the next stage of our adventure.
We saw some great sights that we would never have seen without geocaching, this is the main reason we still love the game after nearly 20 years of playing.
We are not quite sure how we missed the guardian gnome when we first looked where the needle was pointing but we did. We expanded our search a little and then came back to the original location and sure enough there was the little guardian . I'm sure he was laughing at us. He did let us sign the visitors book before heading onto the next one.
Thanks again for the cache.

Not sure if this is a normal amount of water and grasses but the dam seems to be filling with both. Thanks for the cache.
Hi there DavidNarelle.
We found your cache **"Peace & Quiet"** today.
We're full time grey nomads, currently avoiding COVID hot spots on our way to QOGM in Cunnamulla. Today we cached around Cloncurry and found 9 caches in a variety of container types and sizes (& DNF'd 0).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache near where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log are in good shape.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia and back. Traveling up solo along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central Queensland to Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns. In Cairns I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend and spent three weeks on Cape York Peninsula before making our way back to Cairns and Mareeba. From there I headed on my own back home via Normanton and Karumba, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and back down the Stuart Highway through Alice Springs to Adelaide. All in all I spent six weeks on the road, visited many out of the way locations, enjoying the scenery and finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache DavidNarelle!
Continuing my trip up north and being very thankful that I’m not in lockdown like our Southern States.
Spending a couple of nights at Cloncurry and this morning was spent touring around the dam area.
It was not that peaceful and quiet around here as there were a couple of dirt bike riders tearing around along the waterfront area.
Made my way to this one and soon added my name to the log.
Thanks Davidnarelle TFTC.

Filling in a little time before starting at EHM. Took the drive along the waterside. An easy find..
Out and about here visiting my nephew and his family here in Cloncurry.
Saw this pop up and I had to grab it.
A nice little spot at the dam lookout here.
Cache is in fairly good condition and the log is ok.
I visited 3 TB.

Day 351 Today we decided to go and have a look at the dam again and collect our smiley it was thought it was going to be a long walk to the GZ however after looking around the area the better way in was found an the way to GZ was a nice drive in a great area.
This was an easy find at GZ and a great view of the area form the GZ with the log signed we made our way back to the campsite.
Thanks for bringing us here Davidnarelle and the cache is in good condition however the log is getting full.

What a beautiful spot. Cache find/journeys like this makes us reaffirm being a little tortoise with no backpack on our different journeys around this great country of ours. Can just zip in and wow! What a gorgeous spot for a cuppa . Stay in chalets not a caravan.
Easy drive with our 4WD Jangoo. First found a swap so that we assumed the cache might be gone. But it's still there, only the lid is a little loose.

Very peaceful and quiet here at this cool location in a hot day. I found this one quickly.
As we arrived in town today, we set ourselves the challenge of finding most of the caches around Cloncurry, despite the heat. We also wanted to find them as quickly as possible. The cache hide was quickly found and so were the miriad of biting ants. It was difficult to retrieve the container and get the log without being overrun and bitten. This was not a favourite situation but eventually all was done. Thanks Davidnarelle for this cache placement.
After leaving Julia Creek this morning we headed to Cloncurry and after setting up the van we drove out to find a few of the local caches.
It sure is peaceful here
Thanks for the hide

I had to get out of the house and do some caches, so instead of finding local ones, i went to the curry for the afternoon and found 8 for 8! TFTC TNLN
A lazy start to the day as we continue our meandering across northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter. A cooked breakfast, a delightful plunger coffee , put on a load of washing then loaded up the car to finish off the traditional caches in Cloncurry.
This was find #4. Another delightful spot and log was soon signed. Not as conducive to sitting around having a cuppa, so headed back to previous spot and relaxed there.
Thanks for yet another cache DavidNarelle. They certainly add to our enjoyment of our travels.

Cache was lying out in open with log and contents on ground dont know if some animal has got to it. Signed log put everything back with a few extra rocks on it.
We left Mt Isa by lunchtime and arrived in Cloncurry.
Caravan dropped off and out we went to explore town using Geocaching as a guide. Lovely area here at Chinaman Creek Dam. Shame camping is not allowed but noticed some ignoring the rules.

Camped at Corella dam going towards Cloncurry today, after leaving the Red Centre Experience picking up a few caches along the way. TFTC
We have set up camp at Corella Dam, such a great spot & we have caught many red claw here.
Was only going to stay for a day but stayed 4 & went into Cloncurry from here.

TFTC 2347# on the way to NT SA and NSW these are the few last ones before we hit the NT traveling with muggle sister and geo dogs having a great time meeting new people and old friend at ARMAC
We've been to the Mega at Alice Springs and now on the homeward stretch so still looking for caches. Coongoola may sign small log sheets as CG if there's not much room.
This is a wonderful place for a picnic and would be better if caravans were allowed to stay overnight.
Thanks for the cache Davidnarelle.

#7229 - 12:55; Day 26 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. After attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs and then heading north to Darwin, we are now headed for home. We reached Queensland yesterday and after overnighting in Mt Isa and collecting a few more around the city this morning, we were now on the road and heading for our next overnight stop in Winton via Mary Kathleen, Cloncurry and McKinlay caching all the way. Most of the caches we located were in good order, including this one which we collected near Chinamans Dam where we stopped for lunch. TFTC DavidNarelle
13690. Next find of Day 16 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. Heading South East into QLD.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.

Heading back down the track and towards home with fitzy_1965, LuckyL10n and albida and we were heading from Mt Isa towards Barcaldine. Grabbed a good number of caches along the way, with the oddDNF thrown in. A couple of days of fun caching. Most logs were signed ALFS to save space on the logs.....
Thanks to all the caches owners for the caches and the fun in grabbing them.

Another beautiful spot. I can't believe I have never seen this before on our many trips through. Homeward bound from Mega in Alice Springs - TFTC
We are on an express road trip from Brisbane to Alice Springs but taking the opportunity to find a few caches along the way [^] There will be a little more time on our return trip so we will be taking some time out to better explore some of the areas we have had to fly past
We managed to get our little i30 along the track to get to ground zero and located this cache easily enough. With our name added to the log book, we continued on our long drive.
Thank you DavidNarelle for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

Found at 0953. Returned to the dirt road and kept going and were soon almost at the GZ. The GZ was and easy pick and I soon had the cache. Acting on a hunch We kept following the road around which brought back out to the dam access road. TFTC.

Today we travelled to Richmond finding caches that had been published since our last visit and this was one of them. Having been here a few times we got to further explore the town and pick up a few more smilies. An easy find after unhitching the van to further explore the lake and surrounds. Cache is in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
