Ocw the Bebes as we stay close by for a couple of nights. Really enjoyed seeing the blow holes. Answers sent by The Bebes. Tftec
OCW PelDroedGwin Staying at the blowholes for a couple of nights. I could watch this phenomenon for hours ! Answers sent to CO.Tftc
Great Earth cache, we saw the eruptions after setting up camp here. We'll probably stay for a few days and admire the coral and different fish while snorkeling in the aquarium area. We reckon this EC deserves a favourite point. Wow what a great Earth cache wazza9, and such fun to find. Buddy the geodog helped us with this one. Found on October 12, 2024. # 9770
Spent 2 nights at the campground here. Stunning location. Saw whales, blowholes blowing and went snorkeling in the Aquarium. Great little stay.
Found after a three day stopover at Quobba Station. Awe inspiring area. Was not surprised to see tourists standing at the water's edge, right near blowholes, taking selfies. Please be careful. People have died here. TFTC
We were there at 1:31 PMBack to this wonderful region of WA and after setting up camp at the Quobba Blowholes camp ground and visiting DGHoffy who were also camped thee, we headed out to observe another natural wonder in this part of the country. The sea was aggressive today and the blowholes were getting a huge workout! Also after a few waves (7 I think) a huge wave would come in and totally saturate where we were previously standing at GZ Thanks to wazza9
We are having a fabulous and relaxing time camped up at Quobba blowholes. It has given as plenty of time to observe the blow! And we have definitely seen a good 20 metre spurt. The nearby whales have been giving it competition, though, and the tourists don't know which way to look . Answers sent to CO. Top location for an earthcache, thanks wazza9
We had a great time here and at the aquarium today. The blowholes and whales entertained! Two pics: good blowhole shot and shot with whale. Thanks for the entertaining cache.
Had the pleasure of watching humpback whales playing today. Will post answers soon.
Found on a windy day and rough seas. Blowholes preforming and the waves crashing onto the shoreline. Camped the night. Favourite for me. TFTC
The blowholes were blowing today. And, as a bonus, there was a whale breaching not too far offshore.A great spot!Answers sent to the CO.TFTC
We arrived in the area today and saw that the blowhole were working so we stopped to have a look. We may come back later on to check out how they change. What a great spot and was great to see the blowholeThanks for putting this earth cache together
During our fantastic journey in Australia we visited wazza's Earthcache "GC6QDEB: Quobba Blowholes". A stunning location and absolutely worth to visit Thanks for this beautiful Earthcache, greetings from Austria! Philma2
What amazing site. Was able to capture some of the natures best with my drone. Tftc
Could watch these blowholes all day. Im staying in the area so this wont be my only chance to see them. TFTC
Stayed at the campground and walked here from our campsite but unfortunately not much going on. So came back today and the blowholes were putting on a show for us. What a great spot to visit. Thanks for the Earthcache wazza9. A favourite point from us
Travelling back south with mudnCraig and staying in quabba for a couple nights, tftc!
Absolutely stunning day today and the blowhole was spectacular... but windy. Couldn't hole my dog, my coffee, my hat and my phone at the same time so puc is from the safely of the car. Haha. Answers sent. Tftc
We visited today after attending the nearby event at the Sydney Memorial. Unfortunately it was low tide and no swell so the blowholes were not evident. However the coffee van was in attendance, so we enjoyed a great coffee and a donut. Answers sent to CO. Thanks wazza9
Yes, the blow holes are fascinating of course but on such a benign day with barely a wave I found plenty of other ‘geo’ features and salt deposits along with leaping dolphins and turtles to add to the fun. And Quobba is such a great name. The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! In Carnarvon for a few days with plenty of time to explore. Have travelled WEST from home base 4200 km away and that includes altitude from mountains to the sea - so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure to visit.
As I am always thrilled of such natural spectacles I forced my travel-mates to a detour an our way from Carnarvon to Coral Bay. Unfortunately when arriving is was low tide and no wind so we couldn't see any eruption of the water. Nevertheless the view here was amazing.
Thanks for this Earthcache and regards from Switzerland.

I'm winding my way up to Exmouth for the eclipse Arrived into Carnarvon yesterday and a very enjoyable evening rendezvous at the pub with friends making their own way up from Perth. Today we are heading north to Gnaraloo Station for a few days and made sure to stop off at the Blowholes on the way past Great spot to stop off, and a decent swell today so plenty of action! Answers sent to the CO. TFTEC
Back in WA after a seven year absence, didn't travel north of Perth when I lived here so been making up for it.
Love me a good blowhole, was a good day for it.
Does anyone know why they have the grids on blowhole road? In the UK we only have them to keep cattle inside a confined area, so I'm confused. Message me if you know.

Cavanning, Caching and hunting Wild Flowers on our trip in W.A. This time we timed the swell right and had a great show. T.F.T.C.
Visited these blowholes while staying the night at Quobba Station with a few mates. Thought we would have a look thanks for the information.
AWESOME!! Finally made it to the blowholes after living in Exmouth for 16 years! Explored the coast from Carnarvon to Gnaraloo today and stopped here twice just because we all enjoyed it so much, Mr 6 especially! Thanks for highlighting this area
Amazing to see the height produced by a small swell we have always wanted to see the blow holes but every time we passed there was never a spare moment to detour.
TFTC great information in this cache.
TFTC great information in this cache.
Had a great 2 1/2 weeks here so got to see the blowhole in all different conditions. The best was when the swell was at its highest. Some windy days but overall a great place to swim and explore.
Wow. What a spot and to see whales swimming past as well as blowholes. On a weekend, extra bonus is coffee and donut van. TFTC
On an Adventure North. We have hitched the caravan are are intending to find some sunshine and warm weather.
Travelling along Hwy 94 and Hwy 1, our destination is Broome, via Karijini NP, then the trip home is along the coast sampling the towns we have yet to visit.
Of course along the way we will be getting a cache of two ......... and lots more.
Love this site, the waves were working with lots of water in the air.

Southwesterly blowing this morning when we visited. Some good blowhole action going on. Answers to follow!

A beautiful section of coastline here that bring back fond memories of visiting this area with my Dad and a few siblings some 55 years ago. Enjoyed it then and its still beautiful now. Thank you wazza9 for bringing me back to this amazing place.
What an incredible place this coastline is, and in particular the sight and sound of the blow holes. Spectacular! TFTC
Hi there wazza9. We decided that today would be a good day to visit Point Quobba and the lighthouse. It was a beautiful day with clear blue skies and little wind and we found this cache at about 0100pm. Answers have been sent in to the CO (with great difficulty). Thanks to wazza9 for this cache - our find 8790 and the 1st of 1 finds for the day.
Found whilst on our way to camp out at Red Bluff (and again on the way back). Impressive display with a big swell.
Another great spot on our rugged coastline, that's arguably too easy to get to nowadays and the packed campgrounds shows that. Would've been so much more impressive before it was bombed in WW2 to prevent the Japs using it as a long range navigational marker.
We visited the Quobba Blowholes over three days while camping nearby and also viewed them from up at the Quobba Lighthouse (where we also spotted some whales). We enjoyed this location a lot, answers have been sent to the CO. TFTC wazza9.
Answers sent. Thanks wazza9 for this EarthCache.
What a difference two days makes here. On the way up with moderate swell the blowholes were firing. Two days later with a monster swell, with the sea coming onto the shore platform the blowholes were impressive.

Love earthcaches and this just has to be one of the best. Stood for ages, not too close like some northern neighbour tourists, and watched nature’s spectacular display. Thanks for providing us with the incentive to drive out here and experience it. Answers on way.
We visited this earthcache in our holidays in Australia from december to january.
We' ve been there in the morning and at first, not much happened.
But after half an hour or so, the holes woke up and produced quite impressive fountains.
We are happy to have made the way up to the holes! A really nice spot worth showing to the people.

Wow. This is amazing. It was definitely worth the drive from Carnarvon. Thankyou for this outstanding earth cache. Will send answers when back in town.
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the area of Carnarvon.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Earth-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'wazza9' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Quobba Blowholes EarthCache' and the smiley. The search for the answers here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.

We had a really memorable time here. It blew a gale overnight so we woke in the morning to find our caravan stabilisers hanging in midair after the sand had been blasted away! It had calmed again by then so we had a wonderful display from the blowhole.
On a 6 day trip up north to visit family in Carnarvon, and maybe exmouth, with my lovely girlfriend HR2990, picking up as many caches as possible, Thanks to everyone for hiding these caches for us to find.
Today we would take our time to visit the blowholes before going to Red Bluff. The blowholes were very spectacular and we liked walking around a bit.
We tried our best answering the questions of the Earthcache. The answers were send to the CO.

It was great to visit this spot and see the blowholes doing their stuff, not just the big one that whooshes up but the little ones on the platform as well. Greatly enjoyed reading about it in the description. Thanks for the earthcache and the information. Answers to be sent in.
Out ‘n about with m4yb getting a few caches.
Our afternoon adventure took us back down the road 10 odd Kms to the Blowholes and an awesome visit to these amazing structures. Thanks so much for the education on these rocks and formations. Well worth a fav, and answers sent via my geo friend m4yb. Hope that’s ok.
Thanks for the EC and wazza9team.

Way late signing. The Blowholes were going but not that high - only 5m or so. The swimming at the Aquarium even in winter was magic - but cold. Thanks for the Earthcache and learning about blowholes.
Beautiful sight, it was almost dark when I saw it, the sunset looked heavenly :3

We headed out from our camp in Carnarvon to explore the coastline and the Blowholes. We were lucky enough to see whales swimming only a short distance off shore. We all enjoyed our time out here, thanks for the earth cache - answers emailed shortly.
Loved the blowholes on our first visit 8 years ago, and it sure hasn’t let us down this time either. Although on our day trip along this fantastic coastline we visited twice, several hours apart, and we realised just how much more spectacular the water fountains and the drumming noises are when you see them on an incoming tide.
As an extra bonus as well as seeing the blowholes blowing we also saw a number of whales both at a distance and reasonably close to shore. The migratation south has begun!
A great place to have an Earthcache. Thanks for all your work developing and maintaining it. We loved it.

Today we travelled not only from Coral Bay to Carnarvon, but we also made a detour to the blowholes. It was very much worth the visit! A fantastic spectacle of nature, which reminded us of some geysers we saw last year in Iceland. Different triggers, but similar effect.

The Big Western Australia trip in 2018. Day 30. My time over in Exmouth and on the Ningaloo reef I started the drive south, heading towards Carnarvon. I ended up on a coastal strip north of Carnarvon called Red bluff, a very remote area.
After a visit to Carnarvon for supplies and to find the jetty closed, I decided to head back up the coast for a bit to visit the amazing spots I found up that way. This was first and people were doing all sorts of odd things to get pictures and try to be washed out to sea. Only a sandal was lost while I watched some guys on a rock shelf getting swamped by waves. The blowholes were pretty active today as well. e-mail sent.
Thanks.

Apologies for the late log. I've been on a road trip to WA with some caching along the way and only now am I catching up on logs. We spent the night in Carnarvon before heading further north to Coral Bay. We visited this spot on the recommendation of someone else and I'm really pleased we made the effort (and got this earth cache as a bonus). I don't think the conditions were right to see the blowholes in full action but it was a lovely spot to visit and we saw a few smaller jets before heading to do some snorkelling just to the south which was one of the highlights of our trip. Permission granted from CO to log after submission of answers. Thanks for the earth cache wazza9 and for your prompt response.
Thanks for taking us off the beaten track on our way north. Glad to have seen the blowholes and have my lunch covered in sea spray haha!!
Well worth a visit. Rugged coast and pretty to watch the jets. Equally good is to look south and watch the water rushing off the rock ledges. Then drive a kilometre south and go snorkelling at the Aquarium. Aptly named. Answers sent to CO. TFTC wazza9
We visited this awesome site today and I can only say it's fantastic and one of the best sights in Western Australia. We really enjoyed high water eruptions which made a lot of noise, too. Thanks for that earth cache.
What an impressive site!!!

Day three of Barnzy12 and Cravo10 adventure to the Northwest of WA, filling out boots with LGAs, rare DT, old caches, and good old fashioned red dirt!
Today we travelled from Carnarvon to Exmouth via lake McLeod, quobba blowholes, past the Tropic of Capricorn, Coral Bay, and Cape Range national park.
We got up early again today, well earlier than planned, must be the heat and picked up our first cache overlooking the Gascoyne river, after stopping for a nice happy snap at the big banana!
Continuing long great northern highway we ventured to the quobba blow holes, and further down the track go wanaus02 cache and the hmas sydney memorial.
After driving back to the main road and continued for what seemed like an eternity before landing in coral bay where we went cave hopping and picked up a t4.5cache just a few meters from schools of fish and pristine untouched waters!!
Back on the road we passed through the Tropic of Capricorn collecting the ZH cache there and the obligatory photograph for the album, before continuing on towards Exmouth.
Further down the track we ventured into cape range national park tackling a number of simply awesome team red roo caches which highlighted the rugged inland caves, rocks and gorges and their near polar opposite of the crystal clear water. Loved the virtual cache here, and awarded many a favourite.
We continued into town after doing the huge loop around picking up a few caches in town including a couple of archived caches which are still in place and proudly claiming FTF on the only puzzle cache for some 500 kilometres.
A huge days caching collecting a couple of archived caches, a FTF, a virtual and couple more
LGAs. Thanks to the local COs
Great spot here, took about 100 photos trying to get the right photo to show off how high the water sprayed. Much better than the Albany blowholes where I have a geocache, although they are easier to get to! Thanks for showing us this spot.

During our fantastic journey in Australia we visited wazza's Earthcache "GC6QDEB: Quobba Blowholes". A stunning location and absolutely worth to visit Thanks for the opportunity to discover your TB and again many thanks for this beautiful Earthcache TFTC with one favorite point from us and cheers from Austria
What a fascinating place this is. The one thing that amazes me is the colour of the water. The water around the UK is not as beautiful as it is there. I was very lucky as I got to visit here with work. Thanks for creating this earthcache.
What a lovely spot, thank you wazza9 for bringing us here and for your interesting Earthcache.
Visited twice yesterday afternoon and today. Wind blowing from south east and water was blowing about 10 - 15 meters. Amazing place! TFTC and all the info re blowholes
***FTF***We came to stay 3 nights at Quobba and do a bit of fishing with our son. The blowholes were the biggest we have seen, blowing very strongly. Also lots of whales around. Thanks for putting an Earthcache here. Will post a photo soon
