Find # 124927/7/2024 15:32Driving around Bathurst on a coolish winters day picking up some of the mini puzzles solved over the past year or two since my last visit.Have had a wonderful weekend with a group from Canberra, signed as CBI24, and now going solo for the rest of the day before I head home to Canberra this afternoon. Thanks Noonie1990 for PGP- Gesting Hollow
Catching up with late logs.We are traveling with Geoturtle 37, Papi4506 & The Drovers to do an assault on Bathurst and surrounds. We solved all the puzzles we could before we left home which was also an enjoyable part of this journey. We had a great time here in Bathurst finding all types of cache sizes and hides but unfortunately we have got behind in our logging and are trying to catch up now.We can no longer remember the caches individually so we apologize for the generic log, it's certainly not meant to take anything away from our experience, it's just the old minds just ain't what they used to be.Many thanks for adding this piece to the game board for our enjoyment.
Today, Team Crackers, The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and I are heading south to do some more of the TRLT trail. We are stopping for most of the caches as we go of which this is one. The cache was soon in hand with no problems, signed and returned to where it was found. Thanks for placing it for us to find.
Day 4 of our Bathurst trip with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506.Today we travelled south again to pick up a few caches in the small towns. All puzzles were solved before the trip. This is one of the caches we stopped to find along the way.A quick search and the cache was located, signed and replaced. Many thanks for placing this cache, Noonie1990, for us and others to find.

*In the area with woolwood9 heading towards Bathurst.* Weather caused some frustration with rain off and on again today with some heavy showers.Searching in many cases fairly unpleasant, with long wet grass. We managed to get the container found here! SL *tm/ww NZ*Thanks for the reason to stop and I appreciate the effort in setting up these caches!*
Over in the area heading for Canberra to attend the Easter Mega with tmann421Tons of caches done while here and this was one of them.Enjoyed the touring around and all the containers foundLog signed tm/ww NZThanks for the placement and the effort put into maintaining these hides for us to find.
After a weekend at the Bathurst 6 Hour it was back on the road grabbing caches along the way. TFTC
Reperio 15:48Headed to Bathurst to enjoy half a day of caching in the area, and decided to try and clear out as many inner city caches that I could given today was quiet about the town. I headed out of town a little first before doubling back in to pick a few of these simple drive by caches. This one was found nicely.Gratias Noonie1990As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV

House sitting in Bathurst, of course, includes Geocaching!
Oh, what a mess this cache is in! Emptied the entire contents into a doggy-doo bag, it was so putrid!
Cleaned it up and put in a new log sheet in a plastic zippy.
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 2:20 PM on January 6, 2023. TFTC, Noonie1990

Super fast find, lovely little drive by. Log was wet as bag was broken. Have replaced bag.
Tftc Noonie, made the find here last week, catching up on the logging as pH signal was a bit spotty for us out there
We have travelled from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Bathurst for a 9 day holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback Camper Trailer at the Bathurst NRMA Big4 Caravan Park, and plan to collect some caches & Adventure Labs in the Bathurst and surrounding areas.
Today we went for a drive down to Perthville & Georges Plains, stopping off at The Junktion tip shop at Orton, then returning to Bathurst via Cow Flat Road, Gestingthorpe Road, O'Regans Road, Lagoon Road, and Gormans Hill Road, collecting caches along the way. Also took a short detour down Hollis Lane for a few caches. This was the 11th of 20 finds for the day (day 7), and 131st find of the holiday.
A nice quick roadside "park & grab". TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC Noonie1990.

OCW frazerdaze and marj01. House sitting at White Rock for a week has provided an opportunity to do some geocaching runs around Bathurst - mainly TRLT series indispersed with a number of trads and puzzle caches. During the day we saw lovely scenery, lots of sheep and cattle, a few foxes and one deer in the forestry area. We even encountered fire persons doing a burn off which included two of the caches we were chasing. Please excuse the generic logs and thanks to all the CO's for placing the caches and adding to our enjoyment. For expediency all logs were signed OMF.
On a geo tour around the area picking up random caches found quickly signed and replaced also grabbed the tbs will take them to Victoria. Tftc

This PGP series provided a variety of containers as well as hide types. No problems finding this one and we were quickly on our way again, after signing in the next space on the log. Thanks to Noonie1990 for putting this cache into play. We enjoyed finding it.
Hill End and Mudgee weekend April 2018. I set out late on Thursday after a small car battery issue. I only stopped once before a night at Bummeroo ford. Friday took me to Orange via many spread out caches between Oberon and Bathurst. I spent the night at Macquarie woods. Saturday started foggy and then warmed up. I was heading to Hill end, and did make it, but I had to give up on the Bridle track due to a rockfall. Late in the evening I did find a spot along the Turon river and the very bumpy northern section of the Bridle trail. Sunday had me finishing the TRLT trail from Mudgee to Gulgong and a few missed ones in the middle of nowhere. The last day was a simple drive home from Sofala. A great weekend !
Plenty of roadside stops today.
Thanks.

The message that souvenirs are on offer got us out and on the road. It is great that there are some caches placed locally and so close to home. Thanks Noonie1990.
Very nervous about no places to pull off the road for some of this series as there is a surprising number of cars travelling today. Praying for no trucks. But can't leave a cache unfound. TFTC

No issues here, a quick and easy find today, wind is still freezing us when we get out of the car each time.
Hi there Noonie1990.
We found your cache **"PGP- Gesting Hollow"** at 12:04:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17946).
We cached in the countryside around Bathurst. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. We ended up finding a variety of micro and small container types hidden along the way.
We have been caching now for over ten years and it is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches without swaps is increasing, especially in a spots where a much larger, kid friendly container could have been placed. Our grand-kids used to really enjoy the "treasure hunt", but these days there is rarely anything out there to entice them to play.
Today we found 21 caches (& DNF'd 6). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.
Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.
Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.
Day 2 of our caching trip and we were out on the roads again. We headed to Oberon and some of the back roads around Bathurst before getting a few more caches in Bathurst. By days end we’d put a good dint in our "beyond the Great Divide" so decided to head for home. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.
The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.
Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!
