Can't be bothered fixing it yet again. Cachers... YOU need to be careful with some caches...
Found it obviously but the cache is not in good condition. Our teammate try to fix it and resume.
Found it and seems fixed by roxiejohn team.
Very amazing and creative cache.

Some christmas eve geocaching in taupo. Found the cache quickly and very few people around the area. The mechanism however is not working anymore. Nice to see that people put effort to make gadget caches thou. Tftc and greetings from Finland.
Yet again.. people aren't careful with this cache. Will fix this in a week or so.
Found with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!
Home in NZ for a couple of weeks of sight-seeing and catching up with family. We have had a week in Napier and are heading in towards Taupo today. Of course there is time for a few stops along the way and at Taupo, and my short list included this one because of the favourite points.
We got to GZ and a few muggles were about to take the leap, so we watched and they were silent as they fell... Jess and I nearly screamed for them! After realising watching may end up feeling traumatic, we made our way over to GZ and it wasn't too long before we found the cache container. Sadly, it is out of order. The parts were all separate and try as I might, I could not get it back into working order. There is a paper log in the container, but yeah, it is in desperate need of assistance from someone who knows how it should be set up.
Thanks for the cache anyway, Gorbygorbachov, I can see it would be a fun one when working.

I found this cache along with a small group of secondary school students (SJCgeocamp) who were finding Geocaches as part of their camp week. They visited Huka falls, Taupo, Napier, Hastings and Te Mata Peak over four days. We went swimming hiking, and biking and found a wide range of geocaches ranging from traditionals, puzzles, Earthcaches, gadget caches, and the boys favorites-night caches. My hope is that because of their experience they decide to continue Geocaching as a hobby in the future. Thank you to all the CO’s who placed and maintained all the geocaches we found and for bringing us to so many interesting spots.
Boys loved this one.

Found with Smenus who is good at in-field puzzles. A great cache at an interesting location. We stayed to watch the action and to have some refreshments. TFTC
We unintentionally picked a good time to look for this as there was no-one around this evening. We were intrigued by the number of faves and weren't disappointed. Picked up a TB. Thanks for the fun, a fave from us too.
On our way home and wanted something big enough to drop a TB. Nobody around later in the afternoon on Labour Day which was great. So much fun and may have had to try it a few times. TFTC.
Brilliant! Very clever design, and a BIG surprise! Several people about, but all looking the other way, so managed to retrieve and replace quite easily. TFTC.
Nobody there, so I could easily access the cache! Great idea and nice hide

what a great spot and a great cache. Was very careful with the whole process and enjoyed a unique cache. TFTC
Tftc. Awesome excuse for a rest on our way from Wellington. Had to come back for this one due to muggles. Well worth it
I've noticed that the mechanism is not performing as expected. Have done some timely work on it. Please make sure the cord stays tied to the centre of the spring. That way you'll get more bang for your buck! Replaced the log paper while I was at it.
That is so cool! Didn't get muggled. Mrs S doesn't do heights and could not look at the strange people jumping off a perfectly good platform.
Thanks Gorbygorbachov.

Found this pretty quickly and bumped into a couple of other avid cachers so shared the experience with them at the nearby table very cool cache. Definitely a favourite
Arrived at GZ to spot it quickly. Others around I decide to wait. As I approach the deck again I notice people where I need to be. And discover they after what I'm after. Nice to have meet you all. Well crafted cache. A fun experience. Tftc
So glad there were not many people around. Nice to find a cache with effort gone into it. Fav point from us. Log signed b&p. Find number 4231.
Thanks for the cache Gorbygorbachov.

7.40am. Staying overnight in a Motel and had a nice walk to find this. Great views here so I brought Noeline back later for a look. Coincided with someone doing a jump. Favourite point for the view.
Thank you David.
Thank you David.
My wife was too scared to jump so she got her rush from this contraption. She's living pretty crazy at the moment! Great cache
Great spot! Great hide, required a bit of stealth to retrieve. Dropped a travel bug. Thanks for the unique cache.
Down in Taupo specifically to do this Bungy Jump.
Mr and Miss NZTravellers did the jump the day before so had to come back for the T-Shirt and this cache especially as we knew the CO!
Mr NZT was so impressed with the cache that he had to try it twice.
Another awesome cache Gorby and gets a fav point from us as well.
Thanks for placing this great themed cache here.

A place we have visited many times to watch people jumping off perfectly good structures. Perfect place to do our 700th cache. Tftc.
Took the Jr. Cachers to see the Bungy jumping and noticed that there was a cache nearby. Didn't get over this way during the Mega event so it was good to finally give this one a go. Thankfully it wasn't too busy and the Jr. Cachers are good for searching without drawing too much attention. Spotted and retrieved the cache and extracted the log without any issues, although it was slightly damp inside from all the recent rain and quite heavy because of this. Grabbed the TB that was getting a little rusty to dry off and move along. TFTC and a FP from us.
it hadnt been reset properly when we found it but cool idea. gets a fave point from me tftc
Worked out where it might be pretty quick, but had to wait a bit for the young folk to disappear. Once they did we soon had the cache. Completed it and no troubles returning to its hidey place. Swapped trackables TFTC
Found with Maryfairy on a walk from Taupō to Huka falls watched some people jump the Bungy rope
One bonus of a wet miserable day is that there are few people about. On a better day I would have struggled to locate this. However, today was good for a find. Exchanged TB's.
Awesome cache and such a big pine for where it is hidden.
Great stuff!
Mr Us did the bungy as well.

Found it without any problems. Unfortunately the gun wasn't loaded due to a ripped string. I fixed that first and gave it a go thereafter.

We found this about two months ago and never got around to logging it! We had to make two attempts at this one because we timed at right as all the staff were having a New Year's Eve gathering right by the GZ the first time. When we came back the coast was clear and we were free to launch! It took us a few goes to get a satisfying one but we left with smiles. Thanks for a creative and fun cache!
Original idea for a cache. Made us laugh. Found by team FnJax & ChisL. We were greeted by a very friendly ginger pussycat.
TFTC! What a cool one it was too. Very clever. Wasn't sure how far it was going to launch! We enjoyed watching some brave souls launch as well....was even a little tempted to have a go myself.... until I saw the price!!
Heading home from a pretty sweet Waitangi adventure and decided this one was too good to pass up. Plus we needed gas so we were off the motorway anyway.
Plenty of people looking to take the plunge but with me acting as a fence the girls went in to make the retrieval before we all scurried off away from the throng and did the needful and signed ourselves in.
Very cool piece of caching here gorby, decided to save the jumping for another day though. TFTC

On our way back from an amazing long weekend with 11hpg11 and evilno9. At the gas station close by we discovered this geocache with its high number of favs and made our way to GZ. With a sunny day the area was filled with muggles but managed the extract the goods. A fun geocache you did build gorby! Signed as Team Schocker. TFTC
After an amazing weekend at Weka Point for the annual Waitangi campout weekend it was time to head home After packing the tents and loading the car up we were back on the way to Hamilton/Auckland. Not before stopping at the fruit shop and loading up with some bags of fruit and a fruit icecream to go.
Found with Team Shocker, signed logs as this to save room.
A busy day here today but luckily they were all in other areas or too distracted to notice us creep in and grab the cache. Wasn't sure what to expect when we opened it and it was a pleasant surprise. Very well done and a very fitting location for this hide. Great work, we soon had the cache signed and returned ready for the next finder.

WHOLY GUACAMOLE That is the coolest cache we've ever found! Now dad will have to make us one thank you for putting the effort into making that. very much enjoyed
Thank you every one for visiting, and your generous FP's. Please look after the cache and make sure it still 'pings' for the next visitor! I really love reading all your logs, enjoy.
Got it! Good location in that while busy, people's attention is diverted elsewhere allowing for retrieval and log signing. TFTC
We were camping in Top10 near by and when we saw another Gorby's cache close by we had to do it. We came to search for the cache on Saturday evening. One family was having fish and chips on the picnic table next to the deck but they were about to finish. Once they left, my wife soon located the cache and kids enjoyed the catapult mechanism inside. Thanks for the great cache.
A good stroll in the dark. Needed a torch for this one, but at least no one was around. Dropped off a TB I picked up in England with a mission to travel the world. Lots of backpackers around here so it might just move on quickly.
Great cache, good bit of fun. Thanks

I found out about this cache when I completed another of Gorbygorbachov's caches in Auckland (and that one popped up on my radar due to the high favourite count). I quickly found out that these caches are brilliant and I went on the hunt for others by the same creator. Alas, my time was short for hunting and I couldn't find any others in Auckland
BUT I saw that there was another one in Taupo - and I was headed there! Wooh!
Now it was simply a waiting game. My travels would eventually take me through Taupo, and I would remember to look for this cache, wouldn't I? Of course I would!
Except I completely forgot about it. As you do when you're travelling like a tourist, you're attention is oh, so quickly drawn to every other wondrous sight to see.
Strangely, I had decided the night before to have a walk around one part of Taupo on the hunt for some graffiti art (apparently every year the town allows several artists to graffiti out of the way blank walls in order to prevent tagging and such. It's called Graffiato and there's a map that shows you where each artwork is to help you plan how best to walk it) and when I finished, I decided to check my GPSr to see if there were any caches nearby. Lo and behold, this one popped up on my radar when I added it a week prior! Yay!
So off I go to search for this cache. When I got to GZ, I discovered a TON of people all ready and willing to place their llives in other people's hands and got distracted watching people be all manner of insane (see? tourist!) Finally the deck cleared of people so I could havea good look around and found it after a bit of searching.
It did not disappoint. This cache (like the Tweety one) is full of charm, wonder and fun. Such a brilliant cache and to think it was part of a Mega just adds to the brilliantness of it.
Again, my sincere thanks for putting this cache out for us to find. It (and the Tweety cache) has made my NZ trip far more memorable than I ever imagined it could be.

Wow, yes, this is a late log. This was part of a fabulous trip to NZ that got me way behind my logging. I've always liked to tell stories about caching adventures, and so even though life was getting busy, I told myself each of these caches deserves a story and so I'll log them as soon as I have time. In hindsight, I probably should have just logged them, because now many years later I have a huge pile of draft logs and unfortunately am destined to write a generic log just so that I can get back into caching. Having so many to log I think ultimately contributed to the several year slump I'm realizing I need to get out of. So anyways, since it's time to get back into the hobby, this log will have to suffice. Here's to many great adventures ahead, and the ability to tell future stories. This was part of a fabulous trip which I really enjoyed! TFTC!
Welll Mike, this is your best one, that I have seen so far. Loved it, the previous cacher, did not put it back as it should have been. Fixed it.

#8734. Parked off Spa Road in Taupo late on a sunny Saturday afternoon. While there were people about in the wider compound, the deck itself was all quiet the whole time we visited. Amazingly, there was not even a “stealth required” attribute in the listing. So we assumed the staff would know about the geocache here. After some casual looking around, the cache was found quite quickly. Appreciated the excellent hide and set up here. Figured out the field puzzle and the cache was in hand shortly afterwards. It was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Reset and replaced as found.

We dropped past this cache in the pouring rain today, sadly there was no one willing to take the jump in the rain.
We had a good look at the platform and decided that it wasn't for us!
The resident cat saw us signing the logbook and we were on our way.
Hopefully we can drop past again and see someone do the jump!

In Taupo for a few days so had to grab a few caches while wandering around. Parked in the nearby car park and got to GZ where the cache was spotted, now just wait till no one is looking in our direction. Fortunately they were all looking at those crazy people jumping off a platform with rubber bands attached to their legs....
When my accomplice gave me the word I grabbed the cache and did a runner to the nearby table on the grass where the business was done. Followed the instructions and log was soon in hand - signed and reset as instructed. Then, again with the assistance of my wonderful accomplice we sorted the timing to return the cache to it spot. Great timing as two buses of tourist turned up shortly the after!
Gets a FP for the clever cache, bringing us here to watch people jumping with rubber bands attached to their legs and a great opportunity to practice my stealth skills as this cache certainly needed that.

Together with Fenz i had the pleasure to visit New Zealand. We were traveling around for quite some time and thought: Why not combine that with some geocaching! That doubled the fun and we found a lot nice places we wouldnt have, if we werent looking for the boxes invisible to the other tourists. For details on our cache finds see the logs of Fenz. We want to thank all the owners for their effort, the nice hides and the fun we had on our journey! Definitely gonna come back to you Kiwis, greetings from the other end of the world, keep it on!
Cointainer is really well done! Thanks a lot for the effort. AntiTerrorist and I enjoyed singing the logbook. Tftc
We have visited the Bungi site on a few visits to Taupo over the years - but only ever as spectators. Called in once more today and found Gorby's Bung Jeep discretely hidden away despite all the people around the wider area. Very nicely done. Thanks. Adding a Favourite Point.
Sorry about the late logging. Checked out a discrepancy between our GSAK and online numbers and found 6 unlogged caches from today.

Not knowing what was here,
or what happens here,
I just wandered by on a cache guided stroll
There is a really spectacular view of the Waikato River flowing past,
in the gorge below
Shame that a few wires are strung across the view to spoil photos
But what were those wires for ??
A short stroll to GZ revealed what sort of madness happens here !! [:o]
A half dozen muggles were sitting around on benches or beanbags.
Not really paying any attention to me as I sat down in a spot from where I could reach the cache
I snuck the large cache out of hiding,
and trying to use me daypack to shield it from view,
scampered off to a nearby table,
out of sight to see what sort of mayhem I could unleash
Nothing extraordinary happened when I lifted the lid.
Phew !!
Pulling the pin got some results
And laughter ensued
I signed the logbok,
and repacked the apparatus.
Now how the 'eck do I put this back without being noticed ?? [:o]
Same way I got it out of there without being noticed
Hey !! It worked !!
Sort off ...
... one of the 'staff members' wandered past about then and gave me a knowing wink when he saw the container sticking out from behind me boots
The lounging muggles still didn't pay any attention !!
Hooray for smart phones
TFTC !!
A very clever, themed cache [^]
Well worth a fave point or ten
I hung around !!
For a few minutes to watch another victim walk the plank.
He must have had some local blood in him !!
He kept saying Whukme ...
... over and over

After attending the NZ Mega in Turangi and spending a few days in Ohakune, I then made my way back to Auckland, finding a few caches along the way. Stopped in Taupo specifically to find this cache, which was my last find of the day before focussing on the drive home. Muggles were sat right at GZ to start with, so I had to wait a while for them to move on. Once they left the cache box was quickly spotted and I soon worked out what was required to release the cache. A nicely set up and well themed cache for the location. TFTC, favourite point added!
Found it with Ninalila today, a lot of people talked about this one during the Mega event so we decided to come and find this one.

Staying in Taupo for a few days after the MEGA and thought we'd better go and find a few local caches. Today the weather isn't that great - heavy showers on and off but enough time between the rain to find some caches. We eyed this one up before our trip away as a 'must do' cache. We spent some time at GZ searching, not really sure what we were looking for. We ended up having to call the CO for a shove in the right direction and finally spotted the contraption. A break in the muggle traffic, we set about retrieving the log. Thanks for such a brilliant cache! Loved the construction and placement, very very nicely themed and setup and another favourite point for your hard work. Thanks gorby for such a great hide
Had to stop here on my way home to Auckland after the Mega Event at Turangi !
Had heard so much about it from everyone !
Didn't know what to expect....but soon worked it out !
Thanks Gorby for another clever contraption !
Sure to get many favourite points for this one !
