Out with the Auckland Geocaching Meetup group for a wander around a very muddy Birkenhead Domain. Two of us separated from the group to attempt the last two central caches. Followed them up with this one after the group had already been. The cache camouflage here has disintegrated, so the magnet is no longer doing anything of use. 15th and final find for the group, and my 18th find for the day. TF all TCs.
Out with Auckland Geocaching group today. Muddy trek. Last one found just before the rain came. Tftc
I joined up with the Geocaching Auckland Meetup group this morning for a wander around Birkenhead Domain / Eskdale Reserve. The rain stayed away till the end of our walk and the track was fairly muddy in places - I should have took my hiking boots! There were 6 of us in total and we signed the logbooks as 'Meetup.' Our last find of the day as the rain started to come in. A quick find at GZ, although a little tricky to reach. TFTC!
Auckland Meetup Group out on another mission on this overcast Sunday morning, hoping the weather holds. We had Jacksonz, Aiden29, Vistra, CornishLassie, the Wonderstuff and myself out with us today, signed as Meetup Auckland. The domain was very slippy and hard work, way more mud and clay than expected, but we made it with out any casualties.
Spotted from a distance but extraction proved to be a step harder, faught our way in and soon had in hand. TFTC

I left my GPS here, lucky it was still here when I came back the next day

Part of the SEAC fun on Anzac day, this was the first find of many today. Had a great walk with good friends in the park. TFTC!
This was the first one with some of Team S.E.A.C. I had fun.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
A group of us decided to head over this way after morning Anzac services for a wander around. The terrain in the domain was a lot tougher than I thought it might be in places but then thats all part of the adventure really. We had lots of fun, tears, falls, bruises, laughs...the list goes on...it was a great day.
This was first of the day and a nice quick find. Cool container.
Thanks for the cache.

A plan was hatched for a few of the SEAC team, as well as some newbies, to spend Anzac day enjoying a walk around the Birkenhead domain and Eskdale Reserve collecting a few caches. After the dawn service and a hearty breakfast we met Keylev, Cragger, Laval, Hemaludy, UncleSam etc. at the Domain and started our adventure. As per usual we had lots of laughs, a few scrapes and bruises, a delicious picnic lunch, found many great caches and had a flat tyre! but a lot of fun was had! Thanks to the CO's for their hides and thanks for bringing us southerners to the north shore to enjoy this reserve.
A quick find for MrNZT, liked the container! TFTC!

Out with my friends today, taking a walk through the park.
Had a great day exploring and getting some sunshine and fresh air.
All logs signed as Team SEAC.
Sorry for the generic "copy & paste" logs.
Thank you to the CO for placing these caches and supporting my addiction.

A nice quick find here by darthcacher1, purply and tinytrees24 while the adults were still discussing which side was behind. Log signed and cache returned to it's hiding place.
Out for an afternoon of caching before movie in the park with HeMaLuDy, purply and darthcacher1. The kids made the find here while parents looked on; cache seems very muddy and wet but log was signed okay. TFTC.
Came over this way on another early morning detour to work to grab a couple over this way to continue my daily streak (Day No 450) Didn't need to light the fuse cos my headlamp provided enough light and the log was quickly in hand. TFTC
Very nice hide, we didn't know what to expect for this one and it didn't disappoint.
The muggles on the nearby carriageway drove past blissfully unaware that this artifact from Roman History is hidden so close by.
We suppressed the temptation to light but quickly left the area in case we changed our minds.
Thanks G-2 for another great hide, and one that we could find. Too many DNFs today, we may need some Roman Ale to recharge our geosenses..

Last time we attempted this cache a dog escaped is property and al.ost got hit running on the road by 3 different cars. We had to take it to the vet to find it's owner. But that was not the case today (: quickly made the find and even if I wanted to, i didn't light the fuse in all this rain (:
Thanks for the Christmas Day cache, Miss 8 loved using the compass to find this one
Saturday trip with the wife and children; SikoSako, Gulla04 and Vic07.
What a great family outing in the nice weather.
We found 7 of the caches in this area today, failing at two of them. (They are probably there, just a bit too hard for our patience today.)
Signed as SH++ on most of the caches.
Anyway; Thanks for the caches, choice of area and the walk.
Tftc!

Late night mission to get me best ever day caching, I dunno, it's late about 10 or 11pm or more I suppose! I parked my Gorby cafe mobile up close by and wandered down to the cache. There were some young ones across the road waiting at a bus stop, they didn't see me ducking into the Roman HQ. Once in like the proverbial Trojan horse, not in the other sort of Trojan , I soon sorted what the Romans were playing at, yes... a Roman Candle ball it was, and I managed to diffuse it before it got too nasty. Flamin' Romans, think they own the place!
Boom... oops Another one bite the dust . Nice hide find in my business shirt which ended up a bit muddy... TFTC
Some family have just moved to the area and a good excuse to find some new caches.

Once again teamed up with McCuthen Cache Clan for an excursion into the "Land of the Northern Jafa" to see what we could drum up in the way of cache finds. Our more recent attempts to locate caches have been excellent but usually before the first hour was out we were wet to the skin (and remained that way for the remainder of the day. Today we were hoping for better weather, and apart from one heavy shower managed to acheive our goal.
Setting off from Mr McC's at 4am we were working to be home at a reasonable hour (according to our respective wives), and we even managed this, along with locating 62 caches for the day, so all in a success for two southerners. Signed as "MCD" or variation there of.
I will apologise now for the "copy and paste" logs but yes we did have a great day out and enjoyed ourselves and a big thank you to all the cache owners that put in the effort to keep the game (obsession) going for the rest of us.
Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

Out on a late night cache run, starting with an event and ending with an event. We signrd the log as HOAC. Thanks for placing this cache and making our night enjoyable
At least ending with one more of the G-2 finds today after one or two of them resulted in nothing more than extremely muddy shoes and jeans. Not sure what was magnetic at all but I like the fuse. Also, got to learn what this tree was called. Second or third time today that I had to lookup a plant to see what to look for.
A damn pity the flamming romans didn't build a road to this cache. That way I wouldn't have got muddy shoes on my first cache of the day. I certainly lit up when I made my first find of the day though, thanks G=2
Met up with Pazzabella here, and she was onto it so quickly...I just couldn't hold a candle to her! Cool cache
Great Lil hide. At first I discounted what I found then read info again . A closer look revealed it was in fact what I was looking for. TFTC
I have set myself a challenge for this year to have at least the same number of caches on each day of my calender as the number of years I have been caching.
Today the target is eleven. This is the eleventh for the day.
Cheers for the cache.

Carried on our walk with liketips and made our way towards the corner where there didn't seem to be too many options for searching which is always a good start. Nice quick find hidden away from the traffic, TFTC
evilno9 and I didn't find nearly as many caches as we'd planned to today, but this one was in the first place we looked, so no trouble at all. Nice hide, TFTC
Out over the shore today to pick up a Trademe purchase and of course find some caches. This was our first stop and a nice quick find to get the ball rolling. Interesting story and camo, TFTC!
Kiwi having a break from caching today - well he was on school activity duty - so scottie decided a nice straight forward cache was in order. This fitted the the bill perfectly. Straight to cache with the aid of the hint. Somewhat soaked but could not expect anything else considering the weather. Still able to write , signed as KS19. TFTC
Quick find here, the container is getting a little worse for wear but not to worry if you wait a few months you'll be able to replace it with a nice new one. The hint took us right to where we should look and we had no problems. The cache is a little leaky (italian plumbing) but the cache is waterproof so no problems. Thanks for the cache - definitely haven't seen this hiding technique before.
Out and about on the shore with Vamber on yet another lovely long weekend. This was the first of the day, and whilst chatting & catching up we found what looked like some discarded rubbish and threw it back. Light came on, clever camo, thanks Glyn
Out with KirsTim today for a walk through these tracks, collecting all the caches in the area. This was a quick find, but the camo was quite convincing! A very cool hide, thanks for the cache!
Out with Mr TW and we were going to do all the ones near here but just after finding this one the batteries died and we surprisingly had no spares. This was a great cache and fav point from us for the camo. Cheers
Wow awesome cache really loved this one! The camo was so well done. Gets a fav from me! Tftc and great hide
Out caching with Jag50 and Merlot58 to clean up the new caches in the area, particularly this reserve, as we had only just found the caches here before Xmas. Mrs Jag50 soon found the cache in it's hiding spot and pulled it out gingerly to show the rest of us. I managed to diffuse and retrieve the log without lighting any balls. Very nifty.

Out for the day with Jag50 and Aiden29 picking up caches in the area so we signed ourselves as JAM. We had cleaned out this park at the end of November, then all these new caches appeared! Aiden defused this one and thankfully didn't leave any flaming balls
Having cleaned out most of the caches in this area, we met up with Aiden29 and Merlot58 to find some of the recently placed caches. Cache was quickly located, and signed as JAM. We all had a chuckle at the title of this cache! A FP from us!
After reading the cache page I wasn't quite sure what to expect here - but it all made such perfect sense after finding the cache. Such a nicely themed cache deserves a favourite Point. Thanks.
Out for an evening wander thru our local bush & to catch some of the new local caches. Bit of a scramble thru the under growth to grab this one.
Made my own path from near the ginger cache, popped out right behind a lady selling fruit, oops!

I was out this way to collect an item, which turned into the perfect excuse to look for a cache or three. I parked up near GZ and made the hop to GZ. It only took a moment or two before I spotted a suspicious item. Closer inspection confirmed the find. Cheers for the cache placement!
An explosive start to the afternoons caching.one to mister e whilst dad was looking at his phone
A nice quiet Saturday afternoon caching. Thought I'd come and check out these new caches over near Glenfield Rd.
Very cool camo, neat hide. Will head off down through domain and see what others I can find. TFTC

3rd 2 f1nd.
Found quickly thanks to the hint. Great thought went into this camo, as always from CO. However it is so convincing, that I'll be surprised if it isn't collected by the local plebs during the next clean-up. TFTC

Out getting my morning coffee (things run a bit slower during the holidays...), and checked my phone to see which cache I'd pick up today. Oh! A new G2 cache published nearby! Coffee in hand, I popped in for a quick FTF! Great camo job as always, thanks!
After earlier success in the day saw some more notifications popping up so headed back to park. Was about to light a flame and realised that Glyn might not appreciate it so stayed away, wouldn't want him to have to fill all those reports in triplicate again. So we added our signature 2nd to the report to confirm that we obeyed all the rules. No flaming balls so to speak otherwise we would have been there first. Great camo AGAIN
