Full time Nomads since March 2014.

Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.

Moving today from Jamestown to Orroroo. We pulled into the driveway at the caravan park and the wind was unleashed on us. My goodness crazy crazy windy. We unhitched the van and headed out to cache in advance of the forecast rain but wow that wind was crazy it was difficult to even open the car doors. We had to be so careful that the logsheets didnt blow away before we could put them back. Razz

hello

19-Oct-20
This weekend, jesswrigley and I headed to Melrose for mountain biking the trails with a few non-geocaching friends. We ended up hiking up to Mount Remarkable on Sunday, and on Monday, we returned to home via Booleroo Centre, Jamestown, and Clare. The weekend had some rain drizzle and crisp mornings, but otherwise good weather for fitness.

Today, we had a morning Melrose mountain biking session, before starting to drive back to Adelaide. We had some time to fill, so ended up taking the long route via Booleroo Centre, Hornsdale, and Jamestown, to then arrive at Clare for an afternoon tea/coffee event. It was then an expedited drive via Gawler.

I thought this was going to just be a random cache on the side of the road, but instead, we found a point of interest complete with its own information board. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks chrispy89 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Took Mogni for a trip to the Flinders Rangers for the long weekend with extra day either side. The target for the trip was to clear some of the " used to be a church " micro series on the way up and on the back as well, complete a couple of station tracks plus hike to Blinman Pools. We where not expecting a couple of 34 degree days then a 30 km wind dust storm followed by rain over night and then the wilpenda pound walls covered in fog for the next 1/2 a day. It did change our plans a little and the order we did things. All containers we found damaged, broken, cracked were replaced and were possible ( if not soaked ) original log books were kept. Any log books found full were replaced or if room had extra scrolls added in to the cache.

A long weekend away with sir_spectre in the Flinders Ranges. We had each been here before and strangely had few double ups so some revisiting was in order to try to get our maps similar. The weather threw everything at us but we just made our plans suit the conditions. Lots of 4WD and walks included.
Thanks to chrispy89 from mogni Smile

Wouldn't have noticed the sign if there wasn't a box on the map to find.
Not much to see here anymore, although can still see the mounds in the distance.
Gotta love local history...

After a lovely night at the camp site (great facilities for tent campers) but a crap game of footy (if you are a Pies fan) it was up and ready for a day of caching in the Orroroo surrounds.
We travelled all over the countryside and had a fantastic day. We did an epic multi, visited lots of abandoned structures with heaps of history, saw lots of Orroroo masters games venues and called in at the pub in Pekina for a beer. Great day of country fun, punctuated with some super finds. Love a good day of SA country caching.
It started off very cold this morning with low lying clouds meaning we were in fog for the first couple of hours. Once this burnt off it was a superb winters day, sunny and warm. We saw lots of sheep, roos, wallabies, goats and an echidna which was cool. Rex had a brilliant day and was absolutely shattered by the time we got back to the campsite.
Another interesting piece of local history, seems the gun range has been a popular place for locals for a long time. TFTC chrispy89

We left Port Pirie this morning and started out on a cross country route, travellling with ilook4geo. We found a selection of different cache types for the day, including multi, virtual, letter box and traditional.
Cache was found out in the open, which was where it was put back. as there was no camo available locally to use for its protection. Thanks go to chrispy89 for placing this cache.
Just wondering ...... What did Mrs Orrock supply for afternoon tea?

23-Feb-19
This was a fun caching day as we were travelling through outback SA with goingplaces2. We found different sorts of caches during the day and either signed the logs or sent answers to the CO before logging it as a find. TFTC.

ttrogg wanted to go for a drive and so muggle partner and I joined him for a fun day out Cool
It was a good day to be going for a lengthy drive as almost all the way to our destination it rained: lightly and heavily and everything in between Razz
On the way a few caches were found then after ttrogg got his FTF on a Booleroo cache, it was head for home caching until the navigator said time to stop caching and just driveSad 14 Smile finds

This was the cache that had ttrogg driving all the way out here and thankfully he achieved his goal of a FTF Cool
Poor ttrogg wasn't quite prepared for the Woohoo! Cool *FTF* Smile shriek SurprisedSurprisedRazz
Interesting history and basing a day out and afternoon tea around guns is something that is a lot less common these days Sad

{FTF} with locus cache at 1438 [^][^]CoolWinkWinkWinkWinkBig Grin
Had been keeping my eye on this one for a while and with still no logs it was finally time to venture north for a look.
Picked up locus and the muggle partner on the way past and headed off. As this was the main aim for the day didn't stop too many times on the way up so wasn't long before we were pulling up at GZ and very soon after a happy shout was heard.
Thanks for the FTF enabling me to extend the streak for another month chrispy89
