Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and Im taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford, Ilfracombe, the puzzle trail loop and the great tea last night with The Tritonz and Roaming Howie. Its finally Muster day Yahand after a great breakfast and then the fun drive up to Muttaburra it was time to find a few caches before the lunch event.I was up here last year and it is great to find the rest of the caches that I missed last time. This one was a nice easy find and it was a not so long reach. Thanks RoddyC TFTC.
Townsvilles 2nd and 3rd finest, burgo and myself, not necessarily in that order, went to pick out a few caches that took our fancy for one reason or another while out in Longreach for QOGM 2023 We picked this one up on the way into Longreach for the final Qld Outback Geocaching Muster. Great Northern escape 2022 Day 143. Barcaldine Day 2. Today's trip was to Muttabu5rra. It is over 150km so I headed off early. It was a nice drive and there was plenty of caching to do around town and along the nearby river. I ran into Domsky at a key point of the day, it is great to meet up with people in the wild. It was a long hot day, but I enjoyed myself and came home to Barcaldine in time to cook dinner and flop into bed before going out again tomorrow.
There were four caches for me to do on the drive from Aramac to Muttaburra, and each was a quick roadside stop on a very quiet road.
Thanks for the cache RoddyC

We were in Longreach a couple of days ago and it is a lovely spot but just so busy. I prefer quieter spots and am looking forward to Muttaburra and it’s dinosaur. This was an easy find.
It being a new day it was decided to make our way out to the little town of Muttaburra wile doing the caching guided tour well not necessary guided but using the various caches to get us around the area.
Arriving at the GZ we made a search and found the location, it was a reach to the hide so we made the long reach and collected the container to extract the log and sign it with our mark, returning all to were it was found.
Thanks RoddyC for this trip enjoyment today.

Hi there RoddyC.
The QOGM event is over, and as we hadn't driven up to Muttaburra during the weekend, we decided that today would be a good day for a drive.
We had some GPS troubles, so we had to resort to "paper" logging and iPhone navigation for a while - so the caches won't always be logged in their correct order.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's adventure. Thanks for placing the cache for our enjoyment.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

It is a long reach, but I made it.
However we won’t make it as far as Longreach tonight, there’s too much to do in Muttaburra.
Muggle Hubby has been there before but I won’t see it this time round.
Thanks for the ones along the journey to stretch our legs, and arms!

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you RoddyCfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

TFTC. We are staying in Barcaldine. Being a nice sunny day we decided to do a day trip out to Muttaburra and find as many caches as we could. We did not clear the map but had a great day. We found all the art sculptures, enjoyed the history of the shearer’s strike and the variety of caches. Thanks to all the COs for a great day of exploration.
Second day in the Muttaburra area clearing the map for now. Even headed down to Aramac for a mini meetup with RoddyC and youongoldfella with a milestone of 19000 finds as well. TFTC.

And our caching experience today was brought to us by fhe letters R and C, standing, of course, for RoddyC. Our route took us from Barcaldine to Muttaburra and some caches were to be found along the way. This cache was a nice quick and easy find and we were soon on our way after doing the honours with the log. Thanks RoddyC for placing so many caches along these roads.
Nice easy cache to grab. Had taken a 100km detour to try to grab two FTF so came along the road from Bowen Downs so didn't need to try this side road.
I could almost reach it from the geomobile, well stuck thought, so I had to get out and make a long reach! Thanks RoddyC, another tick er, I mean smilie.
We spent the night in Muttaburra so that we could have a proper look around with hopes of getting to Barcaldine tonight and we are really happy that we did as this town has so much to offer that we would have missed without doing all the caches here.
We were heading out of Muttabuurra travelling towards Barcaldine. We pulled up here and as we weren't going to Longreach we guessed straight away what we had to do from the name of the cache page and didn't even bother taking the GPSr with us. Our hunch proved to be correct and we were soon adding our name to the log before returning everything as it was,
Thanks once more RoddyC for the cache.
